Fantastic experience: My autistic son needed a tooth extracted and this wonderful office was the perfect place for me to bring him!! From the moment we arrived the care we had til the tooth was removed and his teeth were cleaned and X-rays done, the complete staff were amazing!! The care that my family received was just amazing and we appreciated it so much. My son was such at ease with the lovely people that were taking care of him, considering he never had a toothache before, they explained every bit about his directly to him to ease his anxiety. Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to this practice. All started out great then we had a miscommunication over the price they had quoted me prior to my visit. I ended up storming out because the price they wanted to charge me was not what they had previously quoted me. I recieved a call shortly after from Jo. She apologized for the miscommunication and told me that they/dentist want to make things right and they will stand by what i was previously told. She stated they want to make things right and want me to be a happy customer and future patient. They brought me right back in, the staff and dentist apologized for the confusion. They were very professional and really provided great service. It was not the money that was important to me but it was the principal. They made it right and I will be a patient with them.

Jo at Michaels was excellent—she communicated with me from across the country and helped coordinate a quick appointment, which I truly appreciated. My son couldn’t stop talking about how kind and welcoming everyone was. I was also very impressed with how clearly they explained both his treatment and post-care instructions. We’re so grateful for the exceptional care and compassion they showed during a stressful situation!

Fantastic experience: Michaels Center for Dental Excellence is indeed EXCELLENT! The only negative thing for me about going to this dental center is the long drive from my home, but each time I visit, I decide that it's worth the drive! The office is always clean and neat, the staff is polite, helpful and competent, and the dentists are great!

Negative experience: Unnecessary treatments (a crown over a tooth they knew was infected and required removal months later among other things), very, very overpriced compared to others in area, unprofessional, party like atmosphere which we thought was quite weird. I'm sorry but I do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Michael's Center For Dental Excellence sums it up in a name. Dr Atra is one of those rare professionals that when you find someone like that you hold onto them! I joke that I would travel to the end of the world for him and his staff but no joke- I actually would. My experience and opinions comes unfortunately from someone that has suffered from a lot of pain in the past due to poor dentistry . I've always taken care of my mouth -it's really the most important thing- but unfortunately I found a dentist here in Citrus County when I moved from New York that screwed up my mouth beyond description. Failed implants mostly. I felt stuck for the longest time- and I'm talking over a decade - hours and hours of wasted time in a dentist chair spending good money after bad and I didn't know where to turn- I was at the end of my rope.... I described it to those who would listen that it was trying to leave a bad relationship that you really didn't want to because of fear I guess and the unknown but had to!. And not knowing where to locate these professionals - the kind of people who take pride in their work - I knew they have to exist. Finding them is the whole trick! I was even willing to travel back to New York but the complexities of my needed procedures prevented that. Thankfully that didn't happen. The first procedure Dr Atra performed was FLAWLESS- no more food catches no more having use a waterpik after every time I had something to eat - who can possibly live like that?? I did. No more infections due to bad dental work no more countless refills amoxicillin no more chlorhexidine rinse that turned my teeth, that were once white, yellow. I can go on and on and if I sit here I'll get very angry about it but the Saving Grace is finding Dr Atra. Despite my past experiences, which left me basically traumatized going to a dentist, things are getting fixed and I couldn't be happier with his work. When you mouth is not right your quality of life and health cannot be either. Dr Atra is in the process of fixing my mouth and every procedure he has done has been impeccable - he utilizes technology that I haven't seen in any dentist office and speaking of, it's the most beautiful and comfortable dentist office I've ever been to. The staff ensures this and is so pleasant from the front desk to the medical staff. And I didn't even mention that the procedures have been virtually painless deapite the intricacies and complexities I have handed Dr Atra. Knowing im in an office that I have full confidence in and best hands in my mouth possible lol puts my mind at ease and lessens the anxieties and added stress and the unknown. So now I'm on a new Road and and I'm not exaggerating by saying I feel so much better physically and mentally now that I can entrust my dental care with Michael's. I wrote this in case anybody can relate and to hopefully help others find pros that care!!! Thank you Dr Atra and Dr Michael's and Staff

Fantastic experience: I think I left a review of this dental practice when I first became a patient. Time for an update: As I have now spent a good amount of time in a number of the various chairs in this practice over the last few years, I feel I have enough experience to do a better and more extensive review. I'll start with this: if my mother were still with us and needed a dentist I would bring her here in a heart beat. Dr Michaels' skills and knowledge are second to none. Her chair side manner leaves you feeling like you're being helped not only by an expert in her field but by a friend. You're always greeted by a smile and light hearted laughter and comments but also serious when it matters. Suggested dental work is always accompanied by a thorough explanation including the whys and why nots of having a procedure done. And all of that is done without the pressure tactics I've encountered elsewhere. The staff she has assembled mirrors her own personality and professionalism. In my sixty four years Mel is the first and only hygienist that I have ever looked forward to going to! Like her boss she's a professional for sure but also very much in-tune with the patient's level of comfort. This month I had a crown fitted and installed and all with the best tools and tech available - thanks to Dr Michaels and one of her outstanding assistants Heidi. The office, a relatively new building designed (I believe) by Dr Michaels, feels less like a clinical doctor's office and more like a spa. Made to look like a welcoming home in the mountains (my opinion) from the outside you walk in to a lobby with a beautiful vaulted ceiling. The lobby is inviting and more like a well designed living room than a dr's waiting room. Each exam room is appointed with attractive lighting, pictures of various adventures the doctor has been on with her teenaged sons, wooden beems on the ceilings - all in all a very different and cozy feel giving the patient a rather enjoyable experience. I'm used to it now and still love the atmosphere but when I first started coming here it was a shock yet in a very good way. I immediately felt more at ease. This is a dental office!??? So, like I said if my mom.....well this is where'd I take her. Now, this may sound like a fake review because it is rather flowery. But this is my honest opinion and review based on my own experiences. If anything changes for better or for worse, I'll come back here to add - or subtract - as necessary. Given what I know of Polly Michaels and her staff, only the best dental care will continue to flow. I also want to mention her office staff as they are the frontline to the practice and are also very professional, very friendly and very understanding when there's a dental emergency and I've had my share!

I have every confidence in the doctor and her staff of dental professionals! Update: Accidents happen! I broke a molar on some hard candy. Dr. Michaels got me in and I now have a temporary crown! Fantastic experience: Oct 7 2024 So I went into the doctor's office today and had a crown finished it was amazing to see pictures of how it actually gets done on the screen in front of me. I also had a cavity filled and I'm telling you the doc has this way of pinching a spot on your face while she sticks the needle in and I never feel it ever she is amazing along with all of the staff. I have had the most auwsume dental visits to Dr Michaels. I am a guy who has spent most of his life dreading going to the dentist. Those days are over as I said the most amazing experience having everything from cleaning to an extraction that was so easy. The doctor's chair side manner is wonderful she is a very skilled military trained dental perfectionist and her staff is also amazing everybody is in tune with what's going on they also talk to you like you're part of the crew. Funny stories, Life experiences all this kind of stuff is shared as well as listening to the background music and other people communicating it's just a very relaxing. That sounds pretty crazy doesn't it, you cannot go wrong with Dr Michaels and her crew of professional dental technicians I dare you to go. One more thing while I was there I happened to see in one of the dental rooms, Santa Claus. She told me that he comes all the way from the North Pole to see her for his dental appointments, she's also been a very good girl. Ask about the message chair buttons

Fantastic experience: This place is the best! I’ve been coming here for 5 years or more and will continue even though my insurance now categorizes them as out of network. It’s true they may charge a little more than some others but you get what you pay for. The office and waiting room are always spotless, the staff are amazing and Dr. Michaels is kind, gentle, funny, and highly recognized and skilled. I’m terrified of dentists and dental work resulting in high anxiety every time I have an appointment (and they know it) but within seconds of arriving and throughout my appointments they put me at ease.

Fantastic experience: It's very hard to write a good review for a service no one loves to do, and in my case, scared to death because of a past experience but here goes. I've never had any work done and found I needed 4 crowns suddenly by previous dentist. Went to Dr michaels for 2nd opinion. She made me feel so at ease. Most extensive exam ever. Still do not like dental work but totally trust her to do it. Thanks Dr Michaels!

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience. Six months ago I had two teeth filled, one with a single filling on one side and the other with fillings on both sides. The next day one filling fell out. I called immediately and we decided to wait for my next appointment to determine what to do. When I got there the hygienist told me they never filled two sides of that tooth. I am sure if you have ever had a filling you remember the discomfort of having the work done. I am 72 years old and maybe they thought I was a bit senile but I can assure you I am not. When I got home I looked at the billing statement for the fillings and it showed that particular tooth had two surfaces filled - now they are trying to tell me it was two surfaces on the same side. The filling is at the gum-line and again I can assure you there is only one filling. OMG, I am so angry and upset I want to use some bad language to tell them how I really feel.

Fantastic experience: The staff are very knowledgeable and really know me and remember me. They make me feel comfortable! This is a dentist office that I actually like going to.

Fantastic experience: Was nervous but very pleased on my 1st visit. Dr.Polly and crew were awsome! Taylor handled my x rays, etc like a pro that she is..Everything was explained in detail, and questions answered promptly. Very comfortable feeling and the chairs even relaxed you!
