Fantastic experience: I started going to Stillwater Dental about 20 years ago. Always had a great experience Had a change in insurance and had to go to another practice for about a year. I am really glad to be back at Stillwater. (My dislike had nothing to do with the dentists at the other place as they were great too, it was how it was run in general) I think the only person still there when i started going is the owner, but they have been consistently awesome! I see Dr Ford and he does cosmetic dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about how wonderful this practice is. I had an emergency and after calling several dentists and being told they could not help me I found Stillwater Dental on line and called at 8:15 a.m. Vicky was so kind and so willing to accommodate me and got me in for an 11:20 appt. When I arrived there was no wait at all and they took me right in.The tech was very sweet and caring and took xrays immediately. Dr Ford came in moments later and determined I had a fractured tooth. Extraction was determined to be the best solution and within a half hour the process was done and I was on my way. No pain with any of the treatment. He was kind and willing to discuss everything with me. All in all this was the best dental experience I can remember and I am 72 and the cost was surprisingly low. Thank you Stillwater Dental !

Fantastic experience: I’ve always had a good experience with Stillwater Dental. I have been going for about 40 years. Went for a cleaning and X-rays and found a small cavity at the gum line on the tooth with a root canal. They were able to get me in the following week. I was in and out in less than an hour, start to finish. Thank you Stillwater Dental.

Fantastic experience: I had fallen and hit my front teeth on the pavement. I couldn't chew anything because the fall pushed my teeth in and changed my bite. Stillwater Dental got me right in. Dr Bailey was gentle and compassionate. He did what he could so I was able to at least chew. Everyone in the office was very friendly. Stillwater Dental is now my regular dentist.

Negative experience: The receptionist made my cleaning appointment "6 months out" well she made the appointment less than 6 months. Well now I owe the bill for it. I get its my responsibility too but I believed her. They have a habit of finding ways to get more money.

Negative experience: I have been a patient here for over 30 years but when I had to just change an appointment, they did not work with me on fitting me in in a reasonable time, but they were taking new patients. I believe you should take care of your long time loyal customers before you take a new patient. There is a way to squish that one in. I’ve worked at front desks before and I know how it works. So I am switching after 30 some odd years. I am going to try to reach one of the doctors because the front desk is not helpful

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bailey is the most caring dentist I have ever had. I didn’t have dental insurance for over a decade and finally got back in to see him this year. There was no judgment, no admonishing. He told me what needs to be done to get my oral health back into shape and that was that. When I wasn’t sure about one of the options, he explained it to me in detail and then offered some temporary solutions to help tide me over until I decide what to do. And the hygienist and front staff are always so nice and welcoming as well!

Unfortunately avoiding dentist offices means you end up needing dental services more urgently later on. I’m happy to say that the entire Stillwater staff are incredibly kind and compassionate. Fantastic experience: Stillwater Dental Associates was the first dentist's office I went to when we moved to the Bangor area a few years ago and I've been many times since and have no desire to change. The office staff, hygienists, and dentists are all friendly and very professional. I see Dr. Ford, who gives detailed answers to any questions I have and clearly prioritizes his patients' health - you can tell the difference between a dentist who cares about their profession and one who is going through the motions, and Dr. Ford truly cares. They make you feel comfortable and not rushed and everyone seems to enjoy being there and helping patients. Their office is always clean and inviting and I never spend more than 10 or 15 minutes in the waiting room, so you are seen quickly once you arrive. I couldn't think of a bad thing to say about this place if I tried.

Fantastic experience: It was wonderful. I am a former patient and had teeth removed a few years ago. Since then I moved closer to Bangor and chose to return for care of my dentures. My teeth have been a nightmare my entire life, and the staff here give me peace of mind that I am getting the best care.

Fantastic experience: Great visit from beginning to end! My husband and I are traveling far from home this summer, yet I wanted to maintain my regular cleaning schedule. I knew in advance when I would need it and where we would be. I called several offices in the area, but Stillwater Dental was the only practice accepting new patients. They couldn't schedule me at that time but offered to put me on their cancelation schedule. The stars and planets aligned! I was able to receive my cleaning and exam. Dr. Ford and everyone I encountered during my visit were friendly, kind, and professional. I don’t know if I'll be back, but I wouldn't hesitate to return to their office if I was in the area again. Fantastic experience: My visit yesterday was scheduled last minute. I live over a hundred miles away now but was at Northern Light while my husband was there for an emergency. In the midst of it all, I was experiencing a lot of discomfort from an infected tooth. When I could squeeze out a few minutes I called the office, they immediately sent an Rx to Riverside Pharmacy. Then Dr. Bailey fit me into his schedule for a Quick Look at that tooth. As has been the case for over 20 years, my dental health is a priority for this amazing team of professionals. Negative experience: This place is a JOKE!! Be careful because apparently anyone can go in there and tell them to put their past due bill under your name …and they do it!!!!! And send you the bill, when you have never even set foot in this place!!!! Or have even heard of them for that matter. They don’t even deserve the 1 star ….zero is more like it

Negative experience: What Dr. Bailey did to me was nothing short of barbaric. My three biggest issues with this dentist would include insensitivity to his patient’s pain and comfort levels, questionable hygiene, and a misogynistic bedside manner. I will be outlining my three concerns along with my personal medical details I’m sharing freely in my own regard. I went to Dr. Bailey for a simple root canal. It ended up being a failed root canal which, surprise, caused a nasty boil to form on my gum. Now, I know things like this happen but when I got in his chair, he gave me zero notice that he was going to slice open the boil and drain it by pressing on the very tender spot so hard I saw stars. He just did it…no heads up, no gas, no numbing, no Novocain. Just pop and press, like I said, barbaric. After attempting to drain the infection, he took an X-ray and could still see it. At this point, he gave me Novocain to slice open my gums to dig inside, but I was already so sore from him working on me unmedicated that there was no use—I was already pushed so far into pain and was clearly communicating that to him. I have a very high pain tolerance, and I’ve never cried at the dentist before, but this man had me trembling in tears. I wasn’t sobbing or yelling, but my body couldn’t help but react to that much pain. Dr. Bailey along with the techs offered no murmurs of sympathy or offerings of comfort. They acted annoyed they had to stop at one point for me to take off the glasses because my tears were pooling in them. This much pain during a dental visit in modern times is completely inexcusable! If the staff had shown slight remorse for the pain inflicted, I would’ve felt safer but they were so stony. I don’t understand why they didn’t numb me up or explain anything before draining it, it was a poor choice. To make matters worse, he dug around in my gums and then propped me up to take another x-ray to see the progress. Now, I don’t want to be dramatic, but this felt like some water-boarding horror movie scene. By round five of the dig-and-x-ray cycle I started zoning out because it was so traumatic, and even my husband was trying to point out to them that maybe I needed a break or some laughing gas. But no, it was the end of the day, and they didn’t care about my comfort or sense of safety. Another fun detail I picked up from my three visits was the very questionable hygiene he and his techs exhibited. They would answer their cell phones and touch paper from the front desk then put on their gloves immediately after. Dr. Bailey even sat his gloves on top of the germ-ridden paper from the front desk before putting them on at one point. I watched him go from patient to patient without ever hearing him washing his hands in the sink or seeing him use hand sanitizer. Big red flag. I wish I would’ve said something, but I was in a very delicate predicament. And lastly, his bedside manner leaves much to be desired. He never called me by my name and he'd speak directly to my husband instead of me. I would look directly at him when I asked the question and he’d glance at me for a second and then look at my husband when he responded. Aside from it being awkward and demeaning, it was very old-fashioned, misogynistic, and downright rude. This happened on multiple visits. I just felt like a ghost at my own dental appointment. The ladies at the front desk were super nice, like complete angels. I was so grateful they could get me in as a new patient on short notice, now I know why that might be. What should’ve been a simple procedure has resulted in a failed root canal and eight total appointments between him, a new dentist, and a specialist to fix the butchered mouth I was left with. Not including five, yes five, rounds of antibiotics, and three months of pain. Never again. And I'm sure they're going to respond with some generic statement- respectfully, save your time. I said what I said.
