Fantastic experience: My 3 year old daughter needed extensive work done on her mouth after months of using a medication that I now realize was mostly sugar. Her decay happened so fast and it was very scary to watch. Angela Lutz and her team were able to quickly get us in and set her up for oral surgery. I was terrified. They helped us feel calm all along the way, and we’re always available to answer questions and check in on us. After her surgery, my daughter recovered very quickly. Her teeth look great and no more pain! It feels like a weight has been lifted and I can’t thank this team enough for their kindness and professionalism! Even after all of this, my daughter still plays “dentist” and shows no hesitation to return to a dentist!

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough positive things about our child’s experience at Children’s Dental Centre of York! Jen, our dental hygienist, was AMAZING. I don’t use that word lightly. I was absolutely blown away by how incredibly kind and thorough she was by explaining everything my child was going to experience in way she could digest. I’ve had negative experiences at other local pediatric dentists in the past, including being told I wasn’t allowed in the exam room with a child 5+ (which is beyond weird and inappropriate for a number of reasons) and this visit confirmed a great pediatric dentists office does exist! Highly recommend this practice!!

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best children’s dental office in the area (maybe anywhere). It’s like if Ms Rachel was a dentist. This is all of their dentists and dental hygienists. I’ve only had an amazing experience bringing my daughter here. She needed additional dental surgery at a hospital setting and they were so kind and communicative during that process. The waiting room has a ton of things to occupy kids (which is so great when you have multiple kids who don’t have an appointment). I love this place. I’ve never had an issue reaching someone at the front desk and from my experience, they are not so overbooked that you can’t get an appointment.

Ms. Carla was so sweet over the phone, and got all 3 kiddos scheduled the next day!! Negative experience: The dentists are wonderful and work well with kids. However, the hygienist we’ve had the last two cleanings should not work in a children’s dentist office. My 4 year old daughter does not like the dentist and is terrified each time. I know my daughter is not the most cooperative, but the hygienist was not patient and made inappropriate comments to my daughter.

Fantastic experience: My 2 year old hadn't been to a dentist yet when she fell and shifted her one front tooth. We were worried about it falling out and called the very next morning to get her seen as an emergency visit. They got us in that morning and were great with her! I was nervous because she doesn't typically do well at the doctors office but they were amazing with her and knew exactly what to do to perform the X-rays and exams they needed to. We will definitely be using this dentist from now on for our routine cleanings.

Negative experience: Called to inquire about getting my son set up as a new patient. The receptionist was yawning over the phone as she says my insurance is out of network. When I realized we had a secondary insurance I called back and she seemed annoyed and brushed me off quickly. Clearly unless you have excellent private insurance she is not willing to discuss all options. As a recruiter this is why we do extensive screening when hiring front desk associates. The first impression of a company should always be pleasant whether they can work with you or not. Please do better.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience with the surgical procedure necessary for my granddaughter! Staff was amazing…. Super compassionate and caring of first time experience for child and anxious parents!!! Very professional, patient and knowledgeable with all questions asked of them. Ultra appreciative of training and effort taken to make this such a positive experience for our family!! Keep up the good work. I highly recommend your team to any parents for their children!

Negative experience: Good luck if you have more than one small child who do not have appointments at the same time. I was not permitted to bring my 4 year old daughter back for my 2 year old daughter’s appointment today, despite being able to the last time we were there. My older daughter has being seeing mom’s dentist for the past year, so she no longer has appointments with her younger sister. I was expected to leave my 4 year old alone in the waiting room or to send my 2 year old back by herself without mom, “no exceptions”. No thank you. No sympathy or compassion from staff or manager for a 6 months pregnant mom with two sweet little girls in tow. We won’t be back.

Fantastic experience: The office itself is bright and looks updated. Lots of stuff for the kiddos to do while waiting from PBS kids on the TV for younger ones to a full blown arcade machine for the older kiddos. The staff have always been friendly and personable and have always made my daughter and myself feel welcome. Dr. Angie is awesome! When my daughter got a filling done last year she didn't even flinch when it was time for the needle and she is generally terrified of needles. When we moved to PA from MD I thought I'd never find another dentist for my daughter that I loved as much as the one there, but I can now say I have and am so very thankful.

Negative experience: They refused to treat my 4 year old child because he was cranky because it was an early appointment and are refusing further treatments, yet another child was in the back screaming like they were killing him and that was ok!

Fantastic experience: My Son has been going to Children's Dental Centre of York for years,starting with their location on North George Street, down from Apple Hill. I have never had a problem there,staff is professional and friendly. They explain what they have done,show you x-rays,offer tips on cleaning your teeth better,etc. When we first started going there,I was nervous about him going back by himself but the Doctors said that the kids do better without the Parents in the room and he's been going back by himself ever since. I can only remember one time that I went back with him. I was amazed at the room,chair after chair,kids get to wear sunglasses because of the bright lights,it's one big open room. I recommend them,they do have times and days that they see special needs children, on the spectrum,etc.

Fantastic experience: I wish I could make an appointment for myself. That's how much I loved this place. I called on a Tuesday to set up an appointment. They got me in the next morning! The receptionist was wonderfully inviting as well as the rest of the staff. Everyone was genuinely friendly. Our dental tech, Ms. Jen, is an angel. My goodness, my child wouldn't stop talking about her on the ride home. I was a bit anxious because of our experience with our previous dental office. All of my feelings of doubt were taken away even before we saw Dr Lutz. Dr. Lutz, you're amazing at what you do. Thank you for easing my fears and letting me feel comfortable leaving my child's oral health in your hands.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic practice. Did you ever look forward to going to the dentist as a child? I certainly never did. Our kids LOVE going. They’ve created an incredibly accommodating environment that helps to eliminate the fear kids sometimes have of going to the dentist. I’m grateful they’ve seen a need in the community to also support children with special needs, I truly do not know what we’d do without this practice as an option.

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my daughter to CDCY since she was ten months old. Over the last eight years, we continue to be shown excellent care and treatment by all staff. Dr. Lutz was born to work with children, and we are continuously impressed with each visit.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience. I brought my 3.5 year old here for a cavity filling evaluation. They saw him for about 2 minutes before telling me he would need sedation in a hospital setting to do the cavity. He wasn’t being combative and he was following commands well from where I was standing. My older daughter had one filled in office at the same age with no issues, so I was reluctant to do any sort of sedation like that. I understand it’s probably very easy when the child is completely sedated for the dentist to fill a cavity and maybe they prefer it that way here. I got a second opinion by another pediatric dentist and made an appointment for the filling and he did so well in office that they were able to fill another cavity during the same visit! He sat for 45 mins perfectly still and cooperative. I was glad I trusted myself here and not the shortest evaluation I’ve ever seen from a dentist. She didn’t seem to understand why I would question her assessment. I was out hundreds just for the evaluation there. I am upset about that, but in the end, my little guy did not need a hospital visit.

Fantastic experience: They were so good and wonderful wit my son. I definitely recommend this place they give out toothbrushes and prizes for the kids also have iPads on tables to kids to help play with! Wonderful ladies

Fantastic experience: This was the first time going to a dental place for my child. They were very pleasant, understanding, and amazing working with my child 16 months old. Even when I called to set up an appointment the receptionist was very nice. The environment feel was very comfortable and set up for children to feel welcome and safe. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who their child needs dental care.

Fantastic experience: I have a 28 yr old son with Autism that has successfully had ALL his dental needs cared for since he was 2 years old. The entire staff is INCREDIBLY patient, kind and accommodating to all his sensory issues. His cleanings are done to perfection! Some yrs his insurance declines an Out Of Network approval...I pay out of pocket. His having excellent dental care is priceless! I highly recommend Children's Dental Center!

Fantastic experience: I took my (almost) 3 year old into the office today, it was her first visit to the dentist. I can’t even put into words at how amazing our visit was, my daughter tends to be on the shy side and Tiffany was so patient and sweet with my daughter talking her through the whole experience and letting her be a part of the whole process. Dr Angie was also really great. When all was done, my daughter asked if we were going back tomorrow! This is just what I had hoped for for my daughters experience at the dentist!!

Positive experience: My wife and I took our 15 month son here for his first check up. Registration and communication was great, office was very clean and comfortable, we only waited 2 minutes to be seen and Dr. Slevin was good with our son. Taking off 2 stars because we were told that only one of us could accompany our son back for his appointment due to spacing in the room. The room was very large with an extra chair in the corner with plenty of space for the 2nd parent to attend. We appreciated Dr. Slevin making an exception and allowing my wife to accompany us back but we were told by reception that the other dentists wouldn't allow it. With numerous other pediatric dentists in the area, we won't be returning because something as simple as both of us wanting to attend our son's first dental appointment shouldn't have been such a hassle.

Fantastic experience: I am so thankful that I found Children’s Dental Centre of York! This is the third practice I’ve taken my child to, who has Down Syndrome, and needs special care for his teeth. The entire staff was kind and caring and made him feel so comfortable and cared about. They were very thorough and knowledgeable about his condition and his teeth are sparkling! My only regret is that I didn’t find them sooner! According to my experiences, they are by far the best in York and Lancaster combined. 5 stars is just not enough!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking my 5 year old here since he was 3 and we love it. They are wonderful with young children who may be afraid of the dentist and the X-rays. We tried other places first that did not work out but have never had any trouble with CDCY. It’s always a fun time when we come to the dentist now. I’ll be bringing my 2 year old here too.

Fantastic experience: My 8 yr old daughter was TERRIFIED to come to the dentist, i mean, absolute meltdown she had about it. Miss Tiffany was soooo great with her! She calmed her fears by explaining in kiddie detail every single aspect of what she was doing and my daughter felt so much better about the dentist. Dr. Amber was super kind and nice as well and talked to us about next steps and options for care. It was such a great experience and every single employee we encountered was so kind, friendly, welcoming and nice!

Fantastic experience: This is absolutely the best dentist my daughter has been to. All of the staff in its entirety are so welcoming, patient, and kind. Walking in to the waiting area, you’re immediately welcomed by a smiling face who makes sure to not only greet me, but greet my child as well. The hygienist & Dr. Amber equally have made sure to take their time with my daughter, having their primary focus be on BUILDING a relationship with her. It’s transparent enough that my daughter’s comfortability is their utmost priority. It makes my mama heart overflow knowing she’s in such good hands with people who want the absolute best outcome for her. My insurance isn’t even taken here, yet I will continue to pay out of pocket to ensure that CDCY remains my child’s primary dentist. They are just SOO good and go above & beyond. Highly, highly recommend to anyone.

I feel they provide the only way we can get his teeth cleaned without being fully sedated. If you have someone with special needs or Autism, this is the BEST dentist to go to!!
