Fantastic experience: Talk about service!!!! Recently, I went to dinner and left behind my invisalign aligner. I was too late to retrieve them. They had already serviced the table and threw them out. I called the office on the weekend knowing that no one would be there. Dr. Holloway called me back and said that someone was in the office that could drop the prior aligner to my home. The entire office staff is wonderful!!!! Thank you all -- especially Dr. Holloway and Blake!!!!

Fantastic experience: May 2026: Dr. Holloway and her entire Team are very caring, sincere, and extremely knowledgeable! Your mouth is vital in maintaining your health as it’s also a key to discovering any current or potential health issues. (I’ve been managing my own Auto Immune disease for 30 yrs). I appreciate how Dr. Holloway’s office stays on top of technology and uses it to assist with my care!! :-) With the cost of insurance nowadays, I’m also grateful they offer their own “insurance plan.” I used to have one of the best known dental plans- but got frustrated as it kept changing; costing more , but covering LE$$. A few years ago, I made some phone calls/comparisons to what I WAS actually getting and paying out of my paycheck; discovered I would only being paying MINIMAL difference for “their plan.” I stopped giving my money to the “big companies “ - was HAPPY to feel in control again & made the change. A SMALL price to pay for PEACE of mind; time I no longer had to spend making calls, worrying what’s covered, fighting w/ ins to cover what should be part of my health. (What happened to Insurance Companies in SUPPORTING Dr.’s diagnoses/ preventative care suggestions for the BENEFIT of the patient??!) I feel reassured in knowing Dr. Holloway & her Team want what’s best for my health too; I never feel pressured, they offer many options to help, and most importantly; they understand it’s a RELATIONSHIP built ON TRUST … something that money can’t buy! May 2025: Taylor, my Hygienist, and Dr. Holloway are both AMAZING!! My mouth feels GREAT! :-) (6 yrs ago): Top notch Dr's and team! Have been our families' dentist since I was in Kindergarten...now my daughter just graduated! Appreciate how they stay on top of latest technology. Always treated with respect and empathy. Love the entire team!! :-)

Fantastic experience: Dr.Holloway is an awesome dentist who successfully completed a crown just above the gum line.. Donna has been my hygentist for over 20 years and does a great job educating me on best practices in oral and gum’s hygiene to improve not only my dental functions but my overall health through practical tips and daily use of water pick. My procedure started on time and the staff was joyful and professional.

Fantastic experience: Excellent work to repair an implant that another dentist said could not be saved. Most importantly the Mosses appliance worked perfectly to completely eliminate my sleep apnea . No mask for me.

Going to the dentist when you have anxiety is a huge challenge but I am hoping each visit will get easier.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Dr. McKinley as my dentist for 32 years. I would never use any other group. The staff is the very best he can hire. the office is not only comfortable but has always been exceptionally clean. The whole atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. Dr Ray McKinley is always knowledgeable about all the new trends in dentistry. I went elsewhere when we moved away from that area..after going through numerous dentists and hygienists over a short 2 yr period, I went back. The 1 hr and 45 minute drive each way is well worth the time. I hope he never retires but if he does, he has his brilliant daughter as his partner so I know the same ethics and talent will be continue on in this office. Thank you Dr Ray and staff for making dentistry an enjoyable experience for me.

Positive experience: Not the visit I had hoped for...I was charged $150 for tests I didnt need. I've been suffering with tmj symptoms and and nothing was accomplished at this appt. or got me any closer to getting any relief,instead they had they're own agenda for the visit and then wanted me to come back to get a second consultation just to "discuss" treatment and not address the problem at that time and get a plan of action. I feel like the pain I'm going through doesnt matter to them how long it takes to get it solved. I've since found another Dentist, they evaluated my issue and made the conclusion for treatment asap & took steps into ordering a night guard stat for my tmj and charged me $0 for the visit. I will not be returning to McKinley & Holloway Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: The dentist office does the most thorough cleaning of any office I’ve been to. I’ve been to four others in my lifetime. They offer tests to check on your overall health, they can make a crown quicker than any office that I’ve been to before. Everyone is kind from Dr. Holloway to Donna to Blake to Taylor. They’re all amazing. I know I’m forgetting some other names at the moment but it’s a great office and they do amazing work!

Fantastic experience: I recently had my recare appointment with Taylor … she is amazing! About 15 yrs ago I completed invisalign and recently decided it was time for a tweek. I’ve almost finished this treatment and couldn’t be happier with the results. Dr Holloway is an EXCELLENT dentist. She makes sure you are comfortable during any procedure. I HIGHLY recommend this office!

Fantastic experience: I first met Dr. McKinley (Ray) in 2014 and I became a patient of his in 2015. My first visit was very unexpected, it came to my attention my previous dentist was NOT exactly paying attention to my gums. I have been going to Dr. McKinley's office since 2015. I have had two hygienists, Laura and Taylor and both are wonderful! Before Dr. McKinley passed away, I had the opportunity to meet his daughter, Dr. Holloway, whom now sees me. Dr. Holloway had the best trainer one could ask for. Everyone in the office is pleasant, efficient, friendly and they all remember my name...even if they look at my picture before I come in, it is nice to be addressed simply as your first name with a smile...a very white smile!

Fantastic experience: My whole experience from a new-patient inquiry to my first visit was incredible. The office staff is kind, welcoming, and responsive. Dr. McKinley was thorough, patient, and so very compassionate. As someone who struggles with sensory issues, the entire staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. The really took their time to get to know me as a person, not just a patient, and that means a lot.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to share how amazing this dentist is. The Dentist herself is wonderful, and she really takes the time to care how you are doing, and she makes sure you are comfortable. I started going here around 5 months ago and needed a lot of dental work. I have always stayed away from dentistry due to my huge fear. Fear so deep that I felt crippled. In my short 5 months I have had 3 crowns and many cavities done all with very little anxiety. Prior to coming here, I used to go to a sleep dentist, and he retired, and I was left with no choice but to find a new dentist. I am relieved to state this place has eased my fears and I am able to go to each scheduled appointment with little anxiety. The whole place is amazing and very welcoming. If you have a fear of dentistry like me, please give this place a try you will be shocked that you can actually go to a dentist and conquer your fears.

Fantastic experience: I will begin by saying I would dread the thought of going to see a dentist for so many reasons and mainly because I have extreme high anxiety. The thought would put me almost in a panic attack before I arrived. My first visit a couple years ago changed my fears. Their kindness and thoughtfulness exceeded my expectations and I no longer have anxiety before and during my visits. Dr Holloway listens to my dental concerns and she is very compassionate and understanding. Her staff are extremely friendly and make you feel comfortable.

Fantastic experience: So far, very good I recently moved back to the Detroit area. I have always had extreme difficulty with my teeth. Decided to try them. Had to get some repairs done and have now committed to some major work. Professional and caring, no high pressure. Just tell you your options and you choose what you want. I went to another place 1st and couldn't wait to get out of there. It was that corporate giant that's all over.

Fantastic experience: I don’t like dentist but this Dr. is the best I have had. Cannot even feel when u had a shot, the atmosphere is warm and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend them. My hygienist is absolutely fabulous. Her name is DONNA.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for years and Taylor has always taken great care of me! Would highly recommend her for being gentle around the gums. Also the staff always makes you feel welcome by knowing exactly who you are even when you only visit twice a year which is always impressive!

Negative experience: They lied to me. Told me that I didn’t have insurance but really, they just didn’t cover my insurance. Tried to get me into their program and was told to fix my cavity it would be over $2,000. Good thing I called my insurance company and I got everything done with just a copay at a different office a few miles away.

Fantastic experience: My dentist was Mrs. McKinley-Halloway and she is the epitome of perfection. She went above and beyond to meet my needs, her intricate detail and quality of work was superb, and I definitely would recommend anyone to have her as their permanent dentist! Her pricing was wonderful, her knowledge was vast, and did I mention, her quality of work was exceptional!

Negative experience: Edited to say: I shouldve known by all of the 5 star reviews that something was off. Ive worked in plastic surgery. All you have to do is have the bad ones removed. Im an honest person, I wont deny that this is an incredible office. The entire staff is top tier, as well as the service they provide. My only gripe, which unfortunately is the star of the show, is the blatant misleading and lack of transparency. Long story short, I was a new patient and went in for a ROUTINE CLEANING. My family and I just moved to the area. Our old dentist was way in Southfield. You figure that you can call up a local dentist schedule a routine cleaning, get in get out, no issues, no concerns. Which is what Ive been doing ALL OF MY LIFE when it came time to get my teeth cleaned. Well upon check out, Im directed into a room where the gentleman (another great guy) proceeds to collect $381 from me. Much to my chagrin I paid. On the inside I froze. Totally unaware of what to do. I mean, they provided a service so in my mind Im like “well you cant just leave and not pay.” Didnt even think at the time to ask if they could bill me, which is my own fault. Again, I froze. Overall the lack of transparency seems very deceptive to me and intentionally so. If you know that these additional modalities that you offer arent standard and therefore not covered by insurance (which I do have by the way), why isnt that mentioned at the beginning of treatment? We are in one of the worst economies that this country has seen in years so I dont think I speak for myself when I say that when I go to get a routine cleaning, Im expecting to spend $400. Treatments that are the result of what they find AFTER theyve examined teeth, yes. But again, a routine cleaning…ABSOLUTELY NOT. I was basically charged for fancy scans and an antibac mouth rinse. Its unfortunate, as I will not be returning. Im out of $381 but my God is faithful to restore anything that I may count as a loss. My advice to any new patient, please ask up front what services will be rendered and what that will cost you. Perhaps youll avoid what I went through. Honestly though, if this is how you do business, its unethical, which begs the question “why would I want to patronize a place that does unethical business?”

The dental hygienist Taylor is always so thorough and gentle and checks in with you during the cleaning, and doctor Holloway is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything if you have questions or concerns The office staff is friendly and helpful, and I appreciated how they explained the costs and even helped me get set up with the Kleer dental plan coverage before any procedures were done. Overall, I highly recommend MHLD for anyone looking for a professional and caring dental experience.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Holloway and the rest of the team at McKinley-Holloway Legacy Dentistry are top notch in all they do! They are wonderful professionals in every way, making sure that patients are well informed and educated about the treatments they're receiving, concerned with patient comfort during the procedures, understand care and follow up instructions, and help to set new appointments to ensure optimal dental health. There's never been a time at this office when I've had a bad experience! Dr. McKinley helped me take away the autoimmune 'trigger' by removing my old mercury amalgum fillings at least 22yrs ago now, and I'll never go elsewhere for my dental care! He was a pioneer in family, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry, and his daughter, Dr. Brittany Holloway is now carrying on the tradition in his stead.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to this office. McKinley-Holloway was highly recommended to me by my daughter and son-in-law. I had an extensive dental exam by a very experienced dental hygienist and doctor. Everyone I met was very friendly and helpful. Smiles everywhere. The doctor explained everything that was going on in my mouth and what the course of treatment should be. I am extremely happy to have made the change and look forward to my next visit.

Fantastic experience: The waiting area makes you feel at home and the staff all too sweet and genuine and kept it 100 with me and my children. Great communication and get straight to the point. We all might have an issue with a tissue but being in the right place at the right time you might need a little laugher in your life and they gave me just that.

They really take the time to get to know you and help you get what you want. From the doctor, to the hygienists, to the assistants, to the front desk… everyone is on the same page! Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to a dentist in years due to time and insurance issues. There was some extensive work that needed to be done. Dr. Holloway and her stuff were amazing. They were professional, courteous, laid out a whole game plan for what needed to be done, which things were urgent and which could wait. Donna went above and beyond in helping me. I had paid upfront but turned out that I didn't need all the work that was initially planned and they refunded me a good chunk of my payment. More than anything, I felt as if I wasn't someone they were just trying to make money from but they genuinely wanted to help me. They were very honest and direct in what I needed done and how much it would cost. They didn't offer me anything I didn't need. The whole experience made me feel valued and cared for as a patient. I would definitely recommend Dr. Holloway and her wonderful staff to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

My family and I are greeted with smiles, kindness, and laughter; Which is something I would’ve never expected by my experience with other dental offices in the past. Fantastic experience: I’ve just been here once for a consultation so it’s hard to give an accurate review, but I was extremely impressed by this operation. Seemed like all new state of the art equiptment, a very friendly staff and that includes Dr McKinley. I may very well have a new dentist after my next follow up visit. They took my Blue Cross Advantage insurance so I’m assuming they take most all as well. Edit. Been using this dentist close to a year now. I’ll be 64 next month and have used many dentists over the years. From high end so to speak, to the lower end dentist that accept you without insurance. Dr.McKinley office is the best I’ve ever used. Everything I’ve stated before this edit still true and then some. Overall, just a very well run business who didn’t give me the impression they were here for my money first and foremost, but my health and satisfaction. Well staffed, state of the art equiptment, friendly, accomadating. Only regret is not finding them sooner than I did.

Fantastic experience: Went here for another opinion for 2 front teeth bonding. Mcdental care dr dziorgot my main dentist said she couldn’t do it at all and said veneers were my only option. Richard Biernstein said he probably couldn’t do it, that he would maybe have make my gap bigger and attempt it. I finally saw the female dentist here and she said she could do it no problem WITHOUT altering my teeth gap. She said she likes to conserve teeth at her office! She was very nice and explained everything to me. She even filed off some excess braces glue that’s been stuck on my front teeth for over 5 years that no dentist has pointed out to me. Her price is costly but there is an insurance coverage on it for 6 years which makes it worth it. I totally trust this dentist and I’ve met her once! Can’t wait to get my teeth fixed!

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing office with such caring staff. I have had dental anxiety/PTSD issues with anything dental related since the age of 10 yrs old. I cannot express how well prepared this office is to be able to help myself get through an appt. I have had such positive experiences with staff that are passionate about patient care. They took time to understand my background to help me be a part of my recovery process with the anxiety. I have actually gone on my own to an appt alone for the first time in 30yrs. I am so grateful to have found this office!

Fantastic experience: This dentist office is wonderful for the most part but one thing I asked up front is to be honest and upfront with the billing. When I lost my job in April, I told them that I would be cancelling my dentist appointment in July. They told me to come in and they would give me in house financing and would be no problem. So they told me about the in house financing at the appointment and I asked about what happens if I get coverage from a new employer or get cobra coverage and I was told it would be no problem to switch it over and I have to actually be still pay $200 to be done all for a teeth cleaning. I would’ve waited for my new insurance or something else. Now I’m out of way more money than I should have! This is primarily why I leave dentist offices!! I’m extremely upset!! Update: they took care of me and I do sincerely appreciate you because I do enjoy your dentistry.

Negative experience: Changing review Read correct suggest Dear Ray McKinley, After meeting with you and you saying it would be thousands and thousands I told Blake I would have to go somewhere else. He said you didn’t know costs and he did the billing. He said you took my insurance and I would be surprised how reasonable. He figured everything and said if I would pay upfront it would be 14886.75. Everything was in writing and he said the only way it would be more is if I needed additional crowns which would cost 1000 more or if a tooth couldn’t be crowned it would be 1000 less. I agreed and paid upfront. When Brittany went to put in a flapper I said no I am to get a metal partial to which she said this is just temporary you will be getting a nice partial. She removed a tooth chisel and hammering 7 to ten times each root. I had a head ache and vertigo for two weeks and no pain pills which she said she would call in but didn’t. Last Thursday Blake told me he canceled Delta and all my money was gone. When I later talked to delta they said he first almost completely drained that account which was almost 1000. They said this was Unethical and horrible and told me what to do. I called the dental licensing board and was told unethical and horrible they sent me papers to fill out. I said first I wanted to ask Ray McKinley if this is how he does business. What has been done one tooth pulled , one flapper ,one tooth crowned ,temporary’s on 3 and two fillings. I was suppose to get two metal partials, 8 crowns, 2 fillings and one tooth removed. It is hard enough being 75. Being taken advantage of is very sad. In your book you list 1. Taking personal responsibility in every situon that happens.others in high esteem. 2. Edifying others by affirming their character. 3. Being authentic. 4. Being a person of reliable character. 5. Being humble 6. Being an inspiration to others. 7. Being compassionate, empathetic, and showing love for others. 8. Being other-centered by putting yourself in their shoes. 9. Doing the right thing. 10. Having faith, hope, trust, and courage in your given abilities. 11. Being accountable in your leadership role. Therefore I believe you should let me show Delta what you have done they can say what they approve with you taking their insurance and you can pay me back the difference or you can do the job as stated.

Fantastic experience: My hygienist Taylor…… first of all is amazing, super duper nice and very professional, she really get in there when she is cleaning my teeth sometimes it hurt but sometimes it feels good.. she is amazing! Dr Holloway is just an amazing dentist she is really caring and super gentle, she knows what she is doing

Fantastic experience: I have sensitive teeth and had a huge fear of dentist appointments, to the point of waiting several years between appointments until coming here. When I started coming 4 years ago I had crummy gums (1 pocket was 9mm deep) and some fillings that needed replacing, plus I was scared. Donna has made me feel so cared for and important, and with her intensive work and great advice I have a mouth full of health! What a great family-run place, I wonder if the little Holloways will carry on the family business? And the nitrous gas helps the nerves a whole lot, my tender friends. Office is cleaner than you could imagine, the most up to date tools. Couldn’t recommend more.

Fantastic experience: Before covid hit she told me I needed a Root canal. I felt better and blew it off. Almost 3 yrs later I came in with severe pain and needed a Root canal that day! No 'I told you so' or chastisement! Treated me with such gentleness and caring I was amazed! And I was so afraid of root canal and can happily say Dr. Brittany made it pain free! Can't wait to get rest of my teeth back in shape!

Dr Holloway squeezed me in for a very urgent and rather critical initial procedure, and has exceeded my expectations ever since. Fantastic experience: First time patient with sensitive tooth. From the moment I walked into this office I felt at ease. Staff is welcoming and friendly, and you get a chance to meet Dr. Before they take you back to exam room. They fixed the tooth I was having problems with and set up cleaning appointment for Monday. Couldn’t have been more pleased. Would recommend this office to everyone. I have some anxiety issues and I felt so at ease that my anxiety never caused me issues.
