Dixie Dental, Brandon D. Henderson, DMD

Negative experience: On Thursday of last week, I drove 90 minutes to see a provider at Dixie Dental for severe pain from a broken back molar. I had called multiple dental offices in the area, and this was the only one that could see me same day, and I was very grateful for them fitting me in. Unfortunately after consultation, and with no dental insurance the only fast and affordable option for pain relief was extraction. I was given a few injections to numb the area, but still was feeling pain, so was given a few more injections. Then over the next hour, the dentist had to literally cut my tooth into several pieces to remove it. He had to stop several times to re administer the anesthetic, but I just never really got numb and basically suffered through over an hour of intense pain. Once the tooth was finally removed I was given a prescription for Norco and we drove the 90 minutes back home. The pain was terrible all night, despite applying ice and taking the pain medicine. I called the next morning to report that my pain was uncontrolled, but the office was closed, so I left a message on their emergency VM. On Monday, three days later, they called back and left a message asking me to call the office if I still needed assistance. Today, Tuesday, the pain is almost as severe as day one. My jaw is throbbing and my cheek is slightly swollen. I called the office to ask if this was normal or if I should be concerned. Whoever I spoke to talked to the dentist and he remembered how difficult and painful my extraction was, but said that it was probably just due to the difficulty of the removal and as long as I don't have a fever, it probably wasn't infected, so I should give it another day or two and if I was still having symptoms, I could come in to see the dentist for reevaluation. I never got to talk to the dentist, and there was no offer made to control my pain. Overall this has been one of the worst and most painful dental problems of my life. Dentists I have had in the past call me after a procedure to check on how I am doing. After care and pain control are very important in dental care, and this office failed at that. I will not be returning.

Negative experience: This dental practice is a horrible joke. Discriminates against military veterans and now they no longer will see disabled military veterans on VA Community Care. I was in VA medical and missed two appointments due to medical related matters. Tried to fine me 58 bucks and then they refuse to see me then say they'll see me for a tooth extraction then they cancel on me. This dental practice is a damn joke. Im suing them. Do not go here. Go else where for dental care. From a military veteran and former Utah State Senate (R) candidate.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately VA is discontinuing the veterans dental contract with Dixie Dental. My husband had the best thorough cleaning by Dixie staff.

Fantastic experience: Dr Brandon Henderson at Dixie Dental downtown is the best dentist I have ever been associated with. I am 82 years old and have had many dentists over the years. I wholeheartedly believe that Dr Henderson will do his best for everyone who he helps with their dental needs.

His training at one of the nation’s top dental schools is evident in both his precision and patient care. Both Dr. Henderson and Dr. Vitelli set the standard for excellence in dentistry. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

I can’t express how much he and his staff has helped me and my mom and my family. I’m so grateful for Dixie dental, the professionalism and the skills that they all have it’s a blessing, I had dental implants that failed from another doctor and I just got my new teeth put in by Brandon personally today and now I can smile. I can’t remember the last time I smiled confidently and for this, I am truly grateful.

Fantastic experience: I contacted the office and the questions Tara didn’t know off hand, she found and called me right back. (Getting ready for Medicare and we had a few new concerns.) Tara made me an appointment for the next morning so I could discuss options before our coverage changed. Dr Henderson answered all my questions and after Lonnie shared the plan, they were able to perform the procedure while I was in the office. This was a great opportunity since I am extremely sensitive and not having to wait and worry was a BONUS for me! I needed the next step to implants and the assistant Jewel had experienced the procedure and put me at ease. Everyone was extremely professional, articulate and kind. It is obvious the atmosphere in this office encourages all staff to strive to ensure the patient is #1.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. I’m not white, not Mormon, this dentist didn’t have the right tool for my root canal. He resorted to using his old tools he used when his office opened. I had no idea until it was too late. His assistant had the idea to use them but to me I had no idea what I was in for. He used these metal gouging tools to extract my root. I jumped at times due to the pain. He had to numb me 3 times with the needle because I kept feeling the nerve. I didn’t want to leave this review but I keep getting calls from them so I feel I need to now. It was an absolute horrible experience. I feel like it was malpractice.

Positive experience: When my husband and I moved to St. George we were happy to find a good dentist. That was five years ago. Unfortunately we will be looking for another provider. The issue we have with Dixie Dental is billing. My husband went to have a filling replaced after it had fallen out. When he received the bill he was charged for a two minute exam and double charged for an x-ray. The explanation given by the office staff was first, the dentist had not seen the tooth. Secondly even though the technician botched the x-ray, two x-rays still had to be taken. When my husband went in for a cleaning he talked to the office staff who refused to credit any portion of the bill. It seems to us that a loyal customer would be more valued then a couple of bucks.

Negative experience: I have seen this dentist several times in the past for minor dental work.In 2021/2022 went there for a bigger dental work.Henderson never communicated properly all and best options available in my complex dental needs situation, before the extractions started.Through assisted staff they pushed multiple extractions within the same day.The sedations,extractions were more painful, than I have done elsewhere in the past.No one ever called me to see if I am OK after the same day multiple extractions.Simple single root extractions, I found out, I were billed as a surgical extractions at higher rates later.While sedated for one tooth, the root next to it wasn't removed, requiring another sedation later on.Poor planning.Bone spurs were left in my mouth.I have cancelled a denture being made half way as being very unhappy with this dentist's work.They never bothered to say an apology at least, and only partially refunded the fees for a prepaid denture, that was never made.Instead of office billing tricks,my advice is, work on your dental and people skills.Not dentist, I would ever recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dixie Dental is amazing! With my dental insurance coverage ending in two days and no available appointments at Dixie Dental before that time, Brandon and his team stayed and worked through their lunch hour to provide significant work to my teeth. Their generosity provided me the opportunity to get work completed that would have gone untreated had I been 100% financially responsible without insurance to negate out of pocket costs. I recommend Dixie Dental to everyone for their great work and even greater care and dedication to their clients.

Sometimes dentist can seem like used car salesman focused on big bills but it is so refreshing to sit down with a good honest dentist that breaks down what your priorities are and how to take care of them Doctor Henderson is hands down the best dentist I have ever gone to.

Negative experience: Idk how this place has 5 stars. I had the worst experience at Dixie Dental in St George, Utah. I was visiting friends and had to get a tooth fixed and the shots Henderson gave me were unbearable!

Fantastic experience: This was our first time to this dental office. The staff was so nice and got us back in a timely manner. I felt like the dental hygienist that worked with me took her time when cleaning my teeth. The hygienist and dentist talked me through the whole procedure so I knew what services were being done. Overall, I felt like it was a great service from the front of the house to the back!

Fantastic experience: We have had a remarkable experience with Dr. Henderson & his staff for over 8 years. The staff always friendly & professional. Dr Henderson has been compassionate and the one time we had a teeth issue beyond his abilities he referred us. The office is exceptionally clean and all their procedures make me feel like its clean and professional. We have transitioned 2 of our children from a pediatric dentist to him and they've enjoyed the experience as well.
