Fantastic experience: I went in for evaluation on a wisdom tooth and with a lot of pain. The surgeon was gentle and immediately took care of the issue. I would most definitely go back if I needed to. I highly recommend SonomaOral and Facial Surgery.

Fantastic experience: I had a really bad tooth and while others said they could see me in a month the staff and Dr. Joel found a way to take care of me right away. A little tender right now but on the mend thanks to SOFS!

Fantastic experience: Must praise the staff for their care and professionalism during my surgical procedure last Thursday. Everyone I delt with kept me informed of everything they were doing to assure me and help me control my fears and apprehensions during the process. The entire team made sure I was calm and comfortable during my waking time and reassured me when I woke up at the end. They made me feel cared for and confident in the outcome of the procedure.

Fantastic experience: Absolute professionals, I had Dr. Parkinson handle my wisdom teeth extractions, got all four done in about an hour. Practically pain free all day of course varies from case to case, but they definitely will have you covered, do not stress it.

Negative experience: Worst place ever!!! Front desk girl is beyond disrespectful and rude!!!!!! They cancel appointments and then get mad because YOUR UPSET!!! So unprofessional, literally the worst place in Yuma. Truthfully make the drive to Phoenix, don’t waste your time with these unprofessionals. This place needs to go out of business or the whole place needs to be restaffed.

Negative experience: they rescheduled me due to an emergency which i understand but i then couldn’t do the time they wanted me to do due to family emergency out of the country and not being healed in time after SURGERY and i asked to reschedule for may n the front desk told me that wasn’t possible i had to do it in april due to a contract with insurance i then called my insurance company to see what was up and they called her bluff there was no reason they couldn’t have rescheduled me for may there was no contract stopping that so very disappointed

Fantastic experience: Went in today for a consultation and they explained everything in detail. The Dr came in and he must of known I was a nervous patient because he said “ I only have the mirror in my hand to look at the tooth.” Yes, the dentist is my worse fear. I feel very comfortable with the staff here and will have my work done here in a couple days and do not expect any issues whatsoever. The asst went over the cost and other questions and booked my appointment and I’ll see them in a few days. Very professional team.

Negative experience: We had 2 insurances, insisted we pay what was left after 1st insurance only in cash before surgery. They told me they would refund us as soon as the secondary paid. 90 days later I called asking where the refund was. Was told to call the business office in phoenix. I called them, they told me "oh, we only refund if the patient calls and asks for it." Um. That's fraud. I did get my refund, then I notified both insurance companies. I will never darken their doors again.

Negative experience: Yesterday I had an extremely distressing dental experience with this dentist. As someone who suffers from severe generalized anxiety, including dental-related anxiety, I have learned to cope with my condition as best I can. Despite my efforts, my heart rate spikes and I experience intense fear in such situations. During my appointment, which began promptly after my 12 o'clock arrival, the dentist attempted to numb a lower tooth for extraction. However, upon injection, I felt an electrical shock-like sensation in my jaw and lip, which I immediately reported to him. His response was dismissive and lacked explanation. As my anxiety escalated due to this unfamiliar sensation, I also repeatedly informed the dentist that the tooth remained sensitive despite the numbing agent, although my face was numb. After a considerable wait of approximately 25-30 minutes, the dentist reassured me it was merely pressure, despite my insistence that it was pain. Following additional medication, the tooth did finally start to lose feeling, so the procedure resumed, but when the dentist began digging around the tooth, my anxiety peaked, triggering a rapid heartbeat and difficulty breathing. When I politely asked to sit up to calm down, the dentist abruptly refused to continue treatment, citing my supposed uncooperativeness and the excessive time spent. This abandonment left me distressed and crying. Subsequent attempts to seek care elsewhere were met with resistance, apparently due to communication between the dentists. This experience has left me questioning the standards of care and the definition of 'uncooperative' in a dental setting. How can a patient's legitimate request for a brief pause to manage anxiety-related symptoms be considered uncooperative, especially when compared to the dentist's apparent lack of control over their temper?

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, I had a pretty smooth and relaxed procedure done. I had 3 teeth extracted. The staff was great from the front desk, the assistants, the doctor. I was sedated and it felt like 15 mins passed and I was all done. Thank you Sonoma for the great care!

Negative experience: Front desk employee refused to sign me up unless I give her my full social security number. She insisted on getting my full social security number. She said that the doctor will not see me until I give her my full SSN. This behavior will be reported to Arizona medical board.

Fantastic experience: 12-17-2024 When the tooth fairy can’t make it and you need your stars to align, then be glad Sonoma Oral and Facial Surgery answered the call. I had a serious dental emergency that required attention beyond my family dentist office. Fortunately Dr. Burns and his caring and professional staff were there to treat my condition. From the first contact, evaluation to the solution, my experience was reassuring that I was in capable hands. Post operative recovery is the beginning of the road to healing and returning to normal health. I am so glad that Dr. Burns and all the Sonoma professionals are here in our Yuma community making a difference in the lives of rural Arizonans.
