ELEVATION DENTAL STUDIO

Negative experience: I received a root canal and crown placement in November 2025. Unfortunately, the crown became loose within five minutes of leaving the office. Despite returning for a re-cementing, the crown has remained loose and painful for six months. Additionally, during the procedure, a long-standing bonding on my FRONT tooth was knocked off. When I brought this to Dr. Mitz-Ann Alexis-Edmond’s attention, she denied causing the damage, despite my history of having that specific bonding for years over 25 years prior. I am currently in significant pain and facing a failed procedure. Because this root canal exhausted my dental benefits, I now have to call my insurance company and other entities for financial help. I am sharing this because I am deeply disappointed by the quality of the work and the dismissal of my concerns regarding the damage caused to my tooth.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, my experience at Elevation Dental Studio was disappointing. I scheduled a routine exam and cleaning after my insurance changed and I needed a dentist who accepted my new plan. I wasn't experiencing any issues with my teeth or gums. When I arrived for my 2:00 p.m. appointment, the office door was locked, and I had to wait outside, unsure whether the office was even open. Once inside, the experience didn't improve. The dental assistant appeared to be rushing between rooms while eating lunch, and her gloves noticeably smelled like food while she was preparing me for the exam. During the cleaning, the dentist focused on only one area of my mouth, leaving several other areas untouched. I've been diligent about regular dental care for more than 30 years, so I have a good sense of what a thorough cleaning should involve. Unfortunately, this visit fell well below those expectations, and I left feeling disappointed.

Negative experience: Need more actual dentist. One person working on your mouth going back and forth to different patients is just unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Getting better with the bands on the Invisalign. I’m not a quicker, I was having difficulty getting them on. The staff were very very helpful. Last night was the first night l slept with them on. I was told to wear them for 8 hours l have them on now it’s over 10 hours. I’m keeping them on until I make my breakfast. Thank goodness for the patience and support of the staff.

Fantastic experience: No one loves going to the dentist, but this dentist changed my mind. Dr. Edmond is gentle and most of all, caring. Her staff always does more than is required to make my experience comfortable and convenient. There was some issue with my insurance, and her front desk assistant made all the necessary calls to find out what was going on, saving me countless time on aggravating phone calls. Her dental staff are awesome and friendly. In emergencies she has seen us in record time or as a same day walk-in if she is in the office that day. The office is clean, modern with updated technology and I have NEVER had to wait more than 3 minutes when coming in for my scheduled appointment. I have been to dentists all over NYC and she gives an exam more thorough than any others. She doesn't just ask more questions and look in your mouth, but she checks gums, tongue, neck and anything connected to your mouth. She is so sweet and easy to talk to about concerns. This may not matter to some people but I want to add that my husband and I searched for years for a dentist that we liked who also happened to be a person of color and she has exceeded our expectations. It's an added bonus that this is a woman owned and operated business, so I couldn't be more content. If you're looking for a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Edmond and her staff at Elevation.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Elevation Dental was very pleasant. Usually it nerve rocking at the dentist, but ED is the exception. I had a shaky jaw tooth, decayed infected and painful. Bre who is Dr Edmond's assistant is professional, experience and very compassionate. Dr Edmond is the true meaning of a professional, thorough, formative and gentle dentist. She extracted my aching tooth and i felt verrry little pain. Wow. She explained everything before, during and after the procedure. E D has new and up to date equipment. And the office is very clean. Positive experience: This is not an office for older adults. Everyone was well meaning but the management got very 'snippy' when I asked for xrays to get a second opinion on her recommendations. I will return in 6 months for my second 'cleaning' as it is paid in advance but the existing discomfort was not addressed so I'm going to another dentist out of the neighborhood.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Elevation Studio. I had an emergency situation and needed to see a dentist right away. I knew from the time I walked in I made the right decision. I was greeted warmly and professionally, and given an overview of what to expect during my visit I was told how much it would cost. These are things that are very important to me. The staff greeted me warmly and offered me water and blanket as they were receptive to the possibility that I might be nervous about going to the dentist especially for a first time visit. The dentist took time to greet me and ask me to explain what was going on with my tooth. She listened patiently. She then explained in detail what my options were and how she would proceed. I felt very comfortable. She took her time and did her best. I left the office feeling good about my experience.

Negative experience: Dr. Edmond is not a communicative dentist. I think she lacks the compassionate touch needed in cosmetic and family dentistry. As a former patient with her for over 3 years, she did not treat me with the respect and attention I truly deserved during my Invisalign journey and in general. My family and I will not be going back here. I would never recommend Dr. Edmond or Elevation Dental Studio to anyone. There have also been many different dental assistants and hygienists that have treated me under her care. In my opinion, the lack of a consistent group of employees and the varying number of people on her staff speak to their employee retention rate and her poor people skills. However, all of her employees treated me better than her. I say all of this because Dr. Edmond decided to part ways with me in a distasteful and petty way. I believe she did not like me because I asked questions adamantly and advocated for myself but she continued to treat me and my family for her own monetary gain.

From the initial phone call to schedule the appointment, the customer service was exemplary. When I arrived I was greeted warmly and put at complete ease. There was no long wait to enter. The office was immaculately clean, and I was even given a tour throughout the space. There was a step by step explanation of what to expect in my visit. The Dentist was knowledgeable, professional and caring. The level of excellence was truly remarkable.
