Dental Smiles at Purcellville Gateway

Negative experience: My entire family has been going to this dental office for years, and it used to feel welcoming and patient-focused. Unfortunately, ever since the original owner left for another location, the experience has gone downhill. During my recent visit, the doctor seemed rushed the entire appointment and I never felt like my concerns were truly heard or addressed. It honestly felt like I was just another number being pushed through as quickly as possible. The office now feels very industrial and impersonal, more focused on volume than patient care. The assistant also appeared very inexperienced and fresh out of school, which is concerning considering the high prices they charge. On top of that, they also charge a 3% fee for using a credit card, which feels unreasonable given the already expensive services. When I’m paying top dollar for dental care, I expect professionalism, attentiveness, and quality service. Sadly, this recent visit left a bad impression, and after many years of loyalty from my family, I’ll be looking for another dental office moving forward.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this office! Very warm and welcoming. Dr. Meighen has been working on my teeth for nearly 2 years, and my teeth were BAD when I first came in. He makes everything as pleasant as possible and is a very good dentist for anyone who is nervous. Had a tooth pulled yesterday and he talked me through the whole thing and made sure I was doing OK every step of the way. 10/10 recommend Dental Smiles!

Fantastic experience: I cannot begin to even start about how wonderful Dr. Nadia Armentrout was last night. My daughter suffered a dental emergency, that was after hours, and Dr. A dropped everything and came to our rescue. She did a fantastic job taking care of my daughter's tooth. My daughter was terrified prior to to the visit but Dr. A expeditiously handled the job. Her tooth looks amazing! But I really want to focus on Dr. A's bedside manner - something I will never forget as it is such a rarity in the medical industry. She was the kindest, sweetest, patient and utmost nurturing medical professional. She had a motherly approach to dealing with my daughter and provided excellent care. She knows how to work with kids and put my daughter at ease. I haven't experienced this level of care in the US and to find it in our neighborhood dental practice really made me feel so blessed. Thank you so much for everything you do!

They make sure you understand costs before anything is done and don’t work to run up tabs like other offices I’ve gone to. Our whole family goes there and is very happy. They are also Invisalign providers as well and so far have done a great job with my treatment. Can’t recommend them enough!

She was very thorough and had a great personality and I was very comfortable in her chair. Fantastic experience: What a breath of fresh air! The front desk staff was organized and understood insurance. They have called me as I am on a wait list for my kids (we moved here recently). When I went in for my appt, I was brought to the back and seen promptly. The 2 dental techs I worked with were fabulous, friendly, and efficient. The dentist was amazing. Xrays were explained to me thoroughly. They are *already looked up* which xrays my insurance authorized me to have and were easily able to see if I could have fluoride at the end of my appt. Soothing atmosphere, attention to color was taken when decorating.

My wife and daughter go to this practice, so we contacted them and said I was in pain and needed to see a dentist ASAP. They were able to get me in within 36 hours and took great care of me. I couldn't have been happier with my experience.

Negative experience: My experience with the dentist was wonderful. He was informative and knowledgeable. However it’s been almost a month since my initial visit and I still have not received my dental plan. It’s disappointing to have the admins hold up treatment.

Amy was AMAZING as my hygenist, super gental and patient and kind. The office doesn't look like the traditional cold, sterile office which helps a little too. I highly, highly recommend!

They offer Invisalign and have done a great job with mine. The facility is clean and welcoming. It does not look like your typical dental office. I would recommend this dentist for adults and children of all ages.

I called the office and had an special appointment in two hours from the call. Dental Smiles put my crown back in, sealed it, and I was out in 35 minutes.

I was so happy to find Dr Salas and have a dentist we can rely on to do good work. The dental care I receive is top notch along with a cozy waiting room. The office staff is also efficient and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend him and his practice to anyone looking for an excellent dentist.

Fantastic experience: It was unexpectedly nice. Not from how nice they were, but from the sheer contrast of the old dentist. They were a lot friendlier, to the point where I think they normally deal with kids given how they talked.

I found Dr. Salas to be professional, willing to listen, and up on current treatments that would make my dental issues less frustrating. I highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for about three years now usually seeing Dr. Salas. They have always been very thorough, professional, and kind. This past month I was SO THANKFUL for this practice. Let me explain: On a Friday afternoon, my 3 year old son hit his tooth, it was visibly out of place, and he was in so much pain. I walked in without an appointment at 2:25 (it closed at 2:30 that Friday) with my son (who was not an established patient), and they saw him!!!! Everyone (office staff, hygienists, Dr Armentrout) were SO kind to my son (and patient with my one and five year old children that I had with me). Dr. Armentrout cleaned his mouth, manually moved his tooth, and took x rays right away while the office staff worked on the paperwork to establish him as a patient and set up his follow up appointment. THEY WERE GREAT! Then (after the practice had already closed), Dr. Armentrout called my son’s regular pediatric dentist (we didn’t go there because it had already closed at 2pm). Then she called me at home AND gave me her number in case my son had dental trouble before the follow up by Monday. My poor sweet son had such a rough afternoon and was in so much pain, but I was SO THANKFUL that Dental Smiles was so kind to us!!!!
