Fantastic experience: My son had his wisdom teeth removed and it went very smoothly! Of specific note, he has historically been a ‘tough stick’ when it comes to bloodwork/IVs. Nurse Tiffany had no problem at all. She even came out to tell me and my son mentioned it as soon as he got in the car. The office even called later in the afternoon to check on him. I have nothing but good things to say.

Negative experience: Make absolutely sure you are in network before they do any work on you. They extracted a tooth without telling us it was out of network and they knew. We ended up having to pay all out of pocket with insurance. Humana to be exact. They did not tell us till afterwards.

Fantastic experience: I had surgrey here the other day and I will say, if I ever need anything else done I will go here and nowhere else. The front office receptionist was wonderful, knowledgeable and kind. TJ was in the room with me while we waited on the dentist and he had a way about him that just calmed me down and made the whole process so easy and less nerve-wracking. He sung while we waited and he was very pateint with me and talked me through everything that was going to happen. Right before they put me to sleep my blood pressure skyrocketed. He talked me through bleeding and put his hand on my shoulder and it immediately calmed me down. His bedside manner is out of this world. He is truly a gem. The dentist was very thorough and was direct which is what I like when it comes to doctors. Today is the day after the surgery and someone called me to check on me. Thank you all so much for such a pleasant visit. Surgrey is always scary but you all helped it not be. ❤️

Negative experience: I had a critical situation take place last minute. They contacted me 50 minutes after my appointment time and I explained that it was a last minute situation and apologized. Asked when I could reschedule and the receptionist stated, sorry the fact you failed to reschedule 24 hrs before your appointment we will not be rescheduling at all. So I can’t make an appointment? I stated, so basically if I had a family member pass away or anything last minute I can never be seen there, that is correct sorry, that was her response! Well that is outrageous! Poor customer service!!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been to a lot of dentists. Some good, some not so good. When I needed a molar removed, I was understandably apprehensive. I went to Mountain State Oral and Facial Surgery. My biggest dread was the needles and numbing, but I had the best dental experience. Dr. Ravelo is absolutely the best. I didn’t feel the shots and he removed my tooth in less than 5 minutes. I give him and Mountain State my highest recommendation.

Fantastic experience: I am one who is scared to death of the dentist my biggest fear in life when I got to Mountain State oral and face surgery my doctor Ravelo and his assistant Hannah helped me out so much. Hannah was so good on walking me through how everything was gonna happen stood there with me talking to me to ease my emotions and help keep me calm. It was an absolute excellent experience so grateful for her help.

Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth removed at Mountain Stare Oral and Facial Surgery earlier this month. The staff, including the assistants, nurses, and Dr. Ravelo, were incredibly attentive and friendly and made me feel very comfortable every step of the way. I had a minor complication due to an issue during my healing process. The team was able to fit me in quickly to correct the issue, reduce my pain, and expedite my healing process. Oftentimes, medical offices can be intimidating and uncomfortable environments, but the MSOFS staff was so incredibly personable and attentive. I felt truly cared for in their Oakwood Office.

Fantastic experience: I went yesterday (12-03-25) and got 5 teeth pulled. 4 wisdom and another side tooth. And boy was I scared. I wanna give a biggggg thank you to my nurse Tiffany and the assistant Trina. I honestly don’t think I could have done it if I didn’t have you guys by my side. Talked me through it. Held my hand. And we laughed. I love it and thank you so much! Seriously the best nurses. The Dentist himself I didn’t get to talk to him to much. He seemed nice. But he was getting it done and was getting out of there. But overall it went good. Great place!!!! Especially if you have really bad anxiety like me!

Fantastic experience: Dr Henderson and the girls did a wonderful job of prepping me and explaining what they were going to do and answering questions that I had. After he took the tooth out, they gave me my home care packet and directions on what to do. It was a pretty quick process. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’m a pharmacist so I will tell the truth as I always do. Fabulous treatment from setting up the appointment to the moment I was finished with the extractions. Followed by numerous calls to make sure I didn’t need anything. Top notch facility, staff, and Dr. Ravelo is the man! If you are having any problems, I would definitely contact this office and they will exceed your expectations.

Negative experience: I took my girlfriend here to have her wisdom teeth removed. The nurses were great super kind and professional but the doctor was another story. He judged her for still having her wisdom teeth at 35 years old, even though no doctor had ever told her to have them removed until recently. Instead of treating her with respect or understanding, he was dismissive and refused to do the procedure, telling her to go somewhere else. Disturbingly judgmental about her medical history as well ! It’s really disappointing to see that kind of attitude from a professional. The staff deserves better leadership, and patients deserve better treatment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Negative experience: I went to this oral surgery practice to have my wisdom teeth removed, and I’ve never felt more judged or dismissed in my life. As someone with four years in recovery, I came in being honest about my history and instead of being treated with compassion and respect, I was treated like a problem. They essentially denied me care because of my past, despite the fact that I’m clean and working hard every single day to maintain that. The experience was humiliating and hurtful. If you’re looking for an office that values people, practices empathy, and treats every patient with dignity — this is not the place. I would never recommend this practice to anyone who believes in compassion or fair treatment.

Fantastic experience: I've had teeth removed before , and was absolutely scared cause last place broke my jaw in the process. Mnt state removed 2 wisdom teeth and 2 molars not only was it quick , with hardly any pain at all. And made me comfortable throughout the whole process. Talked me into doing it without going to sleep and im glad I did. You won't find a better person to take your teeth out.

Fantastic experience: Went in for extraction of two teeth and discuss dental implants. Very professional, well organized office. Staff are knowledgeable, had no issues answering my questions or adressing my concerns. They compassionate & care about making you comfortable throughout the process.

Negative experience: Staff professional friendly going in, personable, friendly answering questions. The discharge however was totally unacceptable. Never in my life have I EVER experienced anything like that in the medical community. First and last procedure for myself or anyone else in my family.

Fantastic experience: Was easy went in took some X-rays took me back put me under pulled every tooth in my head including upper and lower wisdom after that stitches then crowns or crumbs as call them then they screwed them then impressions was done for a perfect fit to the gum screw them in and done these are temporary until gums are healed up then I will have my regular dentist installs the permanent ones. The doctors and staff was excellent, friendly amd took care of my needs and a big thank to all of the staff in pic I'm still numbing certain parts of my lips

I had my first wisdom tooth extracted #32 to be exact . the Dr showed compassion A young man stayed with me the entire time (TJ ) I believe that's his name. Emma who received the call and gave me the appointment..... Felt my pain through the phone. The lady that allowed me to squeeze her hand was so sweet( she was a little tiny thing) but sweet. The lady that moved from Savanna GA. Was so warm. Please keep up the great work. I came in this morning to the FEMA office. Praising your office!!!! Many thanks for such a great experience. Fantastic experience: Absolutely had the best and fastest time! I was terrified of being put to sleep but this lady I was with was Heaven sent! She kept me calm and comfortable, even had me laughing back in my room while she hooked me up to monitor me. Everyone was so nice! Had 4 wisdom teeth extracted. It’s the first time I’ve had any dental surgery, and I feel little to no pain on day 2-3. Healing is going great! They are awesome, I highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Just had 2 tooth extractions yesterday of 1 top molar that was broken and 1 bottom molar that couldn’t be saved with a root canal. All the staff was attentive and friendly. I was extremely nervous when it came time to go back. I have very bad anxiety and pairing that with dental anxiety you can imagine it was through the roof. The assistants & nurses were so kind to get me ready and had a tender touch and reassuring demeanor. I was able to relax and before I knew it I was in the car heading home. I have had minimal swelling and pain so far and feel even better today. This is the 2nd time I’ve had extractions (first was my wisdom teeth) and it’s been a cake walk. All thanks to an amazing team. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Recently, I had two teeth needed extracted. One was completely broken off at the gums, and the other was broken as well. Before arriving I filled out my paperwork online which was very straightforward and easy to navigate. I was seen on time and met with warm professional and polite demeanors from the staff. Though I expected this procedure to be painful and exhausting, it wasn’t. The care I received was amazing. The procedure didn’t hurt and took just a few minutes to complete thanks to the skills of the surgeon and staff. The aftercare directions were given in detail and very simple to follow. While I was nervous going in for the procedure the staff put me completely at ease and it a was very smooth process. I would recommend any of my friends or family to be treated here. 10/10!

Fantastic experience: I hate going to the dentist but Mountain State Oral was able to sedate me for low amount of anxiety with hardly any pain when they had finished. I made sure to follow post opp instructions and it's been a good experience for the most part. Swelling went down after the 1st day.

Fantastic experience: Today was my first experience at Mountain State Oral and facial surgery. I went to the one on Oakwood Road in Charleston West Virginia. I had to have six extractions done and my anxiety levels were extremely high going in. Dr. Henderson and every member of the team I interacted with were absolutely wonderful. They explained everything they were doing along the way and were happy to answer any questions I had. This was hands-down the best dental experience I’ve ever had and I would not hesitate to go back and I would recommend them to anyone for any type of dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Had four impacted wisdom teeth removed. Financing was simple. The staff were extremely kind and understanding of my anxiety. I was given proper aftercare instructions, proper medication, as well as check ins from the office days after surgery.

Fantastic experience: My 8yo son had 4 (baby) teeth pulled. The consultation was quick and easy. The staff, nurses, and surgeon were nice and very reassuring. The day of surgery was no different than the consultation. It would seem that this business runs like a well oiled machine. They took my son back. I waited in my vehicle. He was brought out via wheel chair 30-40 min. later. Upon leaving the nurse gave me some instruction and gauze. They followed up via phone twice that day. My family couldn't be happier with the quality of care and professionalism executed. A+

Fantastic experience: I had to have 3 teeth extracted back in January and the staff at Mountain State Oral were wonderful! I was a nervous wreck and opted to be put under. Normally it is difficult for nurses/phlebotomists to start an IV or do blood draws because of my past history as an IV drug user. Not Tiffany (I think that was her name) though, she got me on the first try. She's a Rockstar. I think the other lady in the room was named Peggy (Not 100% on that one either) and she was so kind and really helped to ease my fears about the procedure. I am going to be completely honest here because after they started giving me the nap juice I went out pretty quickly. So, while I feel like I met the person who actually extracted my teeth I don't know for sure if I did. Therefore, I can't give them a direct shout out because I haven't the slightest clue what their name is but I will say they were clearly awesome. Because they absolutely knocked it out of the park. I had minimal swelling and bruising, zero issues after the procedure and have healed up nicely. I am thrilled with how well this procedure went and will be much less stressed when I go back for round 2 in a few months. Thank you Mountain State Oral!

Fantastic experience: I was in for 1 tooth extraction (old root canal tooth that became cracked and unrepairable). Amber and Linda were attentive and caring. All staff I encountered were professional and helped put me at ease. Completing paperwork ahead of time online and submitted prior to appointment is a big time saver! Overall a good experience and will back for phase 2 of my implant in the coming months.

Fantastic experience: Got my wisdom teeth taken out. The surgeons and the anesthesiologists were very kind and patient when I was freaking out due to my anxiety of surgery. Surgery lasted about 20 minutes and I have never had an easier experience at the doctor ever. Professional and comforting atmosphere.

Sedated,tooth extracted and helped to vehicle with wife driving me home in under 40 minutes. Ladies greeting customers at this Oakwood office were as good as they could get,all employees were very kind and informative about the process and offered any answer to any question. I have never had a better experience in a dental office in my life and the hospitality was very much appreciated. Any procedure in the future will be done by this organization as far as I'm concerned.

I did sedation and don't even remember falling asleep. Healing has not been painful at all and they gave me all the meds I needed to heal. Great experience I would highly recommend this place if you have any kind of anxiety about getting the same procedure I had to have done.
