Negative experience: They recommended multiple root canals, crowns, and possibly implants. The first thing I was offered was financing information. I was not in pain for most of what they listed, which is part of why I wanted other opinions. I got two afterward. Both said I needed one filling. That difference was enough that I did not continue here. Get a second opinion before you agree to a large treatment plan, especially at this practice.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a couple of root canals done here at the Somerset office and they were both done exceptionally well. Only positive recommendations from me as the specialist, Dr. Negron does excellent work! Preya the manager is also super sweet and helpful, and Leena at the front desk is very quick and transparent with any treatment plans needed. They are also super fast with crowns, as I had one of my permanent crowns done the same day!

Negative experience: I arrived with my mom who is 85. I called to make the appointment, explained to them why she was coming in for Oral surgery to have a bad tooth removed under a bridge. The girl made the appointment and all was set. Arrived today, they said they had to take xray of mom's mouth, asked if I could come tech said sure. Took mom into this room, didn't explain or help her with this, almost like we were a bother. After mom was on the machine and front to take a private phone call, not realizing that the machine hit her. She proceeds to try another xray, never adjusted mom, the machine proceeds to almost take mom off her feet, the mouth piece proceeds to break her front tooth. When we say something the girl says don't worry about it. Now we meet the dentist, asks why we are there, I said we are here for oral surgery, he almost laughed. I can remove the tooth but I am not an Oral surgeon. He proceeds to put gloves on that ripped while he was, so fingers are exposed. He said I really can't see much on the xray because they were not good, he said , he will get her better antibiotics and a referral for a Oral surgeon. When I said group about the broken tooth I was told not to worry about it. Upon trying to leave the front desk had the nerve to ask for money, I told them nicely that I would never give them a dime, so sorry you are in my insurance group

Negative experience: I came in April 2025 for a tooth extraction, and a same-day bone graft was performed to help expedite the dental implant process. I agreed to this approach because I was told the overall process could take a long time otherwise. I followed all instructions carefully, attended every appointment, completed all follow-ups, and maintained proper aftercare. Despite this, the implant failed almost immediately. I had concerns early on that something wasn’t right, and after seeking a second opinion, I was informed that the implant would likely never have succeeded because I required a sinus lift prior to placement. This raises a serious concern—how was this not identified or communicated by the original doctor before proceeding? I have invested significant time and money into this process, only to now be told I need to start over with a different procedure. I also paid for a bone graft that now appears to have been unnecessary, as a sinus lift would have included bone grafting as part of that treatment. What’s been equally frustrating is the lack of communication. I have followed up multiple times with the office requesting clarification on both the clinical decisions and the financial implications, but I have not received a call back or any clear answers. This level of customer service is extremely disappointing. At this point, I am seeking: * A clear explanation of why the proper pre-treatment assessment was not done * Transparency regarding the financials and what can be done to address the costs I’ve already incurred * Accountability for the failed treatment * Direct communication from someone who can provide answers and next steps Given the circumstances, I believe compensation should be considered. More importantly, I need clarity and reassurance before I can make any decision about moving forward with further treatment.

Negative experience: I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants it. My interaction with this company was extremely disappointing. The staff were consistently unprofessional, dismissive, and at times outright rude. Communication lacked transparency, and I was given information that did not align with the services ultimately provided. More concerning, the work performed—costing thousands of dollars—was done incorrectly. I am now in the position of having to pay again to have another professional correct what should have been done properly the first time. As a healthcare provider, I hold a high standard for professionalism, ethics, and accountability. Unfortunately, this company did not meet even the most basic expectations in any of those areas. Negative experience: I really wanted to give this clinic a higher rating because the clinical staff is wonderful, but the front desk's disorganization, terrible communication, and aggressive billing practices completely ruined the experience. The Good: The dentist was professional and nice. A huge shoutout to the dental assistant who did my scans—she was incredibly sweet and patiently adjusted the machine's height to ensure I was completely comfortable. The clinical team deserves 5 stars. The Bad (Admin & Wait Times): The front desk process is a chaotic, redundant mess. When I called in the morning to book, I provided all my personal and insurance info over the phone. I was told I will receive a message for address. YES, I DIDN’T check the message that is my fault. Upon arrival, the receptionist told me she had texted me a link for intake forms earlier (which I didn't see). She resent the link and then asked me to EMAIL my insurance card to her. Opening the link, it asked me to input all my insurance and personal info all over again(asked insurance THREE times until this moment). After spending 10+ minutes doing their repetitive paperwork, I waited 20 minutes for my scan. Then I waited another 15 minutes in the chair because the dentist was assigned to another patient. After a quick 5-minute consultation, the dentist recommended deep cleaning and fillings. Since I had another appointment, we agreed I would return at 4:00 PM for the procedure. The dentist walked me to the front desk to get my quote. Since my PPO is 100% coverage, I didn’t pay attention the bill as this moment. I waited ANOTHER 20 minutes just for the estimation price, and I saw she messed up my insurance plan. No idea why she asked me give THREE time insurance and even didn’t take a look. She said she would email me the corrected quote in a "few minutes." It took over an hour to receive it. The Unacceptable: When I finally got the quote, it includes near $1k dollars in "optional" services (like gingival irrigation and desensitizers) that my insurance does not cover. I replied to the email that I only wanted to proceed with the core basic treatments covered by my insurance and only one optional service (~&250) paid by myself. No emails any more. Half an hour later, the receptionist called to ask if I was still coming in. I asked if she read my email—she hadn't. When I reiterated on the phone that I wanted to decline the optional uncovered fees and only do the basic covered procedures, she started talking in circles. When she realized I wouldn't budge, she became extremely impatient, angrily cited it was "their office policy" (essentially forcing optional add-ons), and literally HUNG UP the phone on me. Trying to squeeze extra out-of-pocket money from patients under the guise of "policy" and hanging up on a patient who simply wants to use their insurance benefits correctly is absolutely abhorrent. Go for the doctors, but beware of the front desk and their “policy”, hold on tightly to your wallet.

Negative experience: This dental office isn't so bad but the doctors, particularly James Albani was so hostile with me and even suggested that I see a different periodontist. I could see his frustration and barely spent 2 minutes talking to me. He held no decorum or professionalism and I left the office in tears! I felt embarrassed and he made me feel small. I wouldn’t do my work with him. I got 2 different quotes one with a bone graft and one without. He and I never discussed needing one at all! I’m so upset. All he had to do was discuss it with me in this re-evaluation. I couldn’t even get 5 minutes of his time to discuss.

Negative experience: EVERYONE BEWARE******************************************* I don’t normally leave reviews, but if I could give this place 0 stars, I would. All of their locations feel like nothing more than money grabs—they overcharge you like crazy for mediocre work. I paid $2,400 with insurance for endodontic treatment (root canals) on two teeth because of an infection caused by poorly fitted crowns. After going through the entire procedure, just 4 months later I’m now being told I need to do the SAME treatment AGAIN on the SAME teeth—once again due to infection from poorly fitted crowns. This is completely unacceptable. Not only did I waste thousands of dollars, but I also have to go through the pain and stress of another procedure because of their poor quality work. I am beyond frustrated. I’ve since gone elsewhere and found a doctor charging a fraction of the price with the same insurance, which really puts into perspective how overpriced this place is. I also wish I had looked at reviews across multiple platforms beforehand, because my experience unfortunately aligns more with the negative feedback I’ve since come across. This place is unprofessional, overpriced, and delivers subpar results. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere before you end up dealing with the same situation.

Negative experience: This past year, my employer changed my original Horizon DPO plan and automatically moved me to an Aetna DMO. Since almost NO dentists accept DMOs, I found KK Dental, which does. I am aware they have mixed reviews with over-selling services, but figured I'd just go get the assessment and see what happens. I went in for an appointment, and after fifteen X-rays was told I needed both my crowns replaced (one of which is about two years old), every single filling with varied ages, and had a cavity on the gumline that warranted either a root canal or tooth extraction. I went back to my original dentist, who saw me for a free consultation. He disagreed with the entire assessment, and filled the cavity during my quick visit, which took all of ten minutes with NO painkillers even needed. Suffice it to say I canceled my future appointments with KK Dental, and I'll be switching back to an alterative plan during open enrollment later this year to get out of this terrible DMO. I would avoid this business and if they want to do a lot of work to you if you must go, seek a second opinion.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at KK Dental. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really helped ease my nerves. I saw the endodontist for a root canal, and I couldn't be more impressed. She took the time to go over exactly what we were going to accomplish, explaining the process step-by-step before we started. During the procedure, she was very attentive; any time I indicated discomfort, she immediately stopped to administer more Novocain or whatever pain relieve that was administered to ensure I was completely comfortable. Afterward, she clearly explained the next steps and how to care for my tooth until my crown is replaced. Highly recommend this team for their professionalism and patient care! I only wish they took my insurance, but that is an issue I am having with many dentists in the area.

Negative experience: A Complete and Utter Nightmare. Avoid at All Costs. I wish I could give this place zero stars, but apparently, one star is the minimum for this level of incompetence. I had an appointment scheduled for a cleaning and check-up online at 4:30 pm today. When I called this morning to confirm my appointment for the evening, I received a cold, unapologetic front desk lady saying my appointment had been canceled due to a "time conflicts" their last appointment is at 4 pm and she doesn't know why it let me book at 4:30 pm. Are you kidding me? When I explained and told her to let know the office management immediately, the receptionist—who sounded like she'd rather be anywhere else—just repeated the same thing, offered no apology whatsoever, and then had the audacity to suggest rescheduling for two months later! No effort to squeeze me in, no effort to even pretend to care about the massive inconvenience they caused. The one time I did manage to get in here a few months ago, the waiting room looked like a disaster area, and the dentist spent less than four minutes with me before rushing off. The entire operation is a joke. It’s clear they have zero respect for patients,, so save yourself and go to anywhere else but not here.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is wonderful - front to back Going to the dentist is usually not pleasant experience, but this place helps.
Negative experience: This place is a scam. They charges you left and right. This was my second visit for cleaning and they charges for exam. I have been going to dentist over 30 years and rotate for cleaning between my dentist and periodontist every 3 months and never get charged because it is covered by my insurance. I switched the dentist because KK dental was much closer to my home and here you go. They never told me that there will be charges for this cleaning/exam.

Negative experience: I would give 0 stars for this place, almost 10 years later I get a call from a so called lawyer who first of all came at me very nasty about this bill, mind you I’ve never got a bill in the mail. Also my number is the same, why haven’t they called? Also I paid my coinsurance there I paid what I was due at the time of service and when to moving my wisdom tooth they broke another tooth and never fixed it. Now I have a bill and a threat to be sued for $222 which like I said I paid about $200 dollars. Asked for an EOB and still have nothing sent to me. The lawyer calling me delusional for not follow up is disgusting. This place is a scam and I will be seeking actual legal help to get this sorted.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. I went for a consultation and the doctor said I had a very bad infection. They were going to contact my insurance then they were supposed to get back to me. I didn’t hear from them, so I sent an email and I never got an answer. I gave 1 more week and I decided to call them. The person that I talk to, told me that the manager would call me back. One month and a half approximately and still didn’t hear from this people. I had to look for another place.

Positive experience: Very good did a good job cleaning my teeth and explaining in detailed cost and procedure
Fantastic experience: There was a little bit of a "hiccup" with scheduling my appointment through Zoc Doc. However, the front desk said they would still get me in, they were life savers! Dr. Negron explained everything in detail; and, even though I had to have x-rays done that were not covered by my insurance, all staff was very up front, and the additional x-rays gave me peace of mind. It was worth the price to pay for the 3D x-ray to avoid unnecessary costs and procedures. I had a dentist tell me several days before I needed a procedure that Dr. Negron deemed unnecessary. Thank goodness I opted for a second opinion from someone with expertise on my issue. Everyone was very friendly, helpful & thorough. Thank you all for your help!

Negative experience: I’ll start this review with two dental codes: D3320 (root canal) and D9630 (take-home drugs/medicaments). Keep those in mind. I’ve been to KK Dental twice this year and both times I walked out without treatment. First time (February): I came in, prices didn’t match what my insurance told me. I called my insurance right there at the desk and confirmed I was right. The receptionist gave me attitude, told me I didn’t know what I was talking about, and basically told me to leave. Said they’d call me to reschedule after they “talked to insurance.” They never called. Second time (Sept 9th): Booked an appointment online for their New Brunswick office, got both email and text confirmations. Showed up and was told I don’t have an appointment, and the doctor isn’t even at that location. They rebook me at Somerset, I drive over, and that office also doesn’t have me in the system. To their credit they squeezed me in. The endodontist looks at my notes and says “looks like you didn’t get seen last time because of financial issues.” Pretty insulting, but whatever. Then the bill comes. Root canals are about $90–$130 per tooth, consult about $80, fine. But on top of that? A $250 charge PER TOOTH for “other drugs/medicaments.” Staff tells me it’s for anesthesia and irrigation. Except anesthesia and irrigation are already included in the root canal code (D3320). The code they used (D9630) is for take-home drugs. So basically I’m being charged twice for something that’s already supposed to be included. Then they tell me the X-rays I had done two weeks ago aren’t good enough for their system, so I’d need new ones. On top of that, they say I also need a $350 CBCT scan (that insurance won’t cover) to check for fractures. At that point it’s over an hour past my original appointment time, I’m late for work, and I’m tired of being nickel-and-dimed with add-ons. So I left. Two visits, zero treatment, unprofessional staff, shady billing practices. Not worth your time.

Negative experience: Billing department is a nightmare. I gave this place 3 chances when they regularly were not upfront with pricing. The office staff was rude and knows what they are doing when they hit you with surprises. I asked 3x if something was covered. The office manager assured me it was. Then hits me with a $300 bill. We waited 2 hours in a chair for my last visit. Then another hour and a half at this visit. Office manager talked rude about me to my child. I am not an angry person yet this place has taken me out of character 3 separate times due to their actions. I don’t know how the reviews on here are so high when on yelp, many ppl have had the same problem that I did. They have an average of 2 stars there. Please check before you go here. Horrible experience that I have never had anywhere else. I’m sure it was due to my skin color I was treated this way. One receptionist labeled me angry in my son’s chart and I saw it on his screen. Calling a black woman “angry” is unacceptable when I calmly complained about a surprise bill. Stay clear of this business.

Negative experience: I recommend coming here if you want your insurance to suddenly cover nothing. I’ve been to several dental offices over the years, and I’ve never had an issue with insurance, until I came here. I was surprised when the front desk staff told me that I’m a “big girl now” and can’t use my parents’ insurance as my primary. For context, I’m in my 20s and have always had multiple forms of insurance. Every other dental office has simply used the one that covers the most, which makes sense and minimizes out-of-pocket costs. When I asked if there would be a copay, since I’ve never had to pay one at the dentist before coming here. I was met with attitude and told, “There’s always going to be a copay,” which is simply not true based on my experience and coverage. Last time as i was walking out the door they told me i had to pay a “copay” which was news to me. The worst part? I was already in the chair, mid-appointment, when they decided to tell me my insurance wouldn’t be covering the procedure. At that point, I chose to get out the chair and walk out. It felt like they were more interested in getting paid than providing clear, upfront information about costs. I’ve had the same insurance for years, and suddenly it “covers nothing”? That’s suspicious.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful I came here as a new patient with emergency extractions. Not only was I treated exceptionally well by every staff I encountered, it was the first experience of having a healthcare provider state “your body, your choice” in regards to my medical decisions. My hygienist was Frank and even through painful tears he made me smile and held my hand through it all. Pricing is exceptionally reasonable (I also have dental insurance and used a loan). Negative experience: This organization is acting unethically and irresponsibly. First, they charged me out-of-pocket for various items that other dentists do not charge. Then, they billed my secondary insurance for the same services -- even though I had already paid -- and assured me I would be reimbursed. It has now been many months since I received the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my secondary insurer confirming payment, yet I have received no reimbursement. Every time I call, I'm either kept on hold or transferred repeatedly with no resolution, telling me to give them some more time. This behavior is unacceptable and feels deliberately deceptive. On top of that, the quality of care is mediocre. Appointments are consistently overbooked, and patients are left waiting for hours. PS: The difference in reviews between Yelp and Google is mind-boggling.

Negative experience: I had a very upsetting experience with a front desk staff member named Priscilla. She was rude and dismissive, and she even admitted to intentionally treating me poorly. Her behavior reflects a serious lack of respect, professionalism, and confidence. This raises concerns about the company’s hiring practices, as she clearly does not treat patients with the respect and dignity they deserve. I strongly advise caution when choosing this clinic. I was able to stand up for myself, but others may not be as fortunate.

Fantastic experience: Great service. Had an emergency extraction done as a complete new patient. They worked with me through it all. Everyone was patient and kind. Great neat clean office. For someone who hasn’t been able to properly care for my teeth since Covid, they were awesome. I have a small mouth and a terrible gag reflex, so I’m a dentists worst nightmare, but I definitely wasn’t made to feel that way at all. A++++ would get all me teeth extracted here. Great view of the farmland too. And as a bonus you can sometimes catch a whiff of the THC next door

Negative experience: I went in for my regular dental checkup as a new patient for cleaning as I do every 6 months. They did the x-rays, and the dentist (Nevil Parikh) comes in and says that I need deep cleaning which is not something that will be covered as part of preventive care. Then goes on explaining the front desk will let you know of the finances for it and bla bla. mind you, I have insurance, so I am wondering why is he talking about money when I am just here for a preventative dental visit for cleaning. so, the front desk comes in and brings me the bill stating that my total bill would be $2600 or so and then I have to come in twice to do that "DEEP CLEANING" in 2 sittings so that they can charge me twice for the numbing meds they use. I declined and told them that I would like just regular cleaning, and the doctor refused to do so saying "your diagnosis is deep cleaning". Excuse me!!! In what way is this ethical, I don't understand. Up until 6 months back I was following up with dentists in NYC and due to change in my insurance and city I had to switch. In NYC, they would do regular cleaning as a preventive checkup without mentioning deep cleaning or the need for it. Is this some money-making gimmick to loot patients? It should be my choice if I don't want deep cleaning and just want regular cleaning. Mind you deep cleaning is something they do under anesthesia. So, they will call you for two sittings, its double the cost for the drugs they use to numb you 2 times. what sort of ethical practice is this when a patient comes in for just regular checkup for cleaning and you refuse to clean saying that they will only do deep cleaning. why can't you do regular cleaning? Stay away and don't bother going here. Highly disappointed. Didn't want to give any starts but didn't have the option to give 0. AVOID going here. Truely disappointed.

Negative experience: Billing department does not respond. They haven’t cleared a $1,400 bill since December of 2024. Each time I call, I get the same response that the front office will follow up with billing and they have 1000’s of patients. If they can’t handle the bills, they should stop taking patients and making new appointments. Please be careful before you pay out of pocket.

Negative experience: Horrible service . Constantly called me to come in sooner than I scheduled. Had an issue where I couldn't make it and tried to charge me 50$ to reschedule. I tried to call and speak to someone and the Spanish lady with her fake smile just hung up on me . That's OK because there competition down the street took me right in and they will get the job . Just like that they lost a 2k Job for 50$ . And they damaged my tooth on my 1st visit and tried to say it was already there . If you have good insurance there are so many better options than this place . Not everyone that smiles in your face cares . Thats what this receptionist taught me.. Do better !!

Negative experience: I had my root canal done there and they over charged me over 500 dollars and later when I tried to talk to them to explain why this charges they have no answer and just said we talked to you and you signed it this is a fraud they charge me for stuff it never been used 250$ they rob me of
