Fantastic experience: Myrna at the front desk is so kind, professional, detailed, patient and goes the extra mile with her patients. It was her birthday and she stayed late to help me with my dental chart and all of the questions that I had. To top it off she had a smile on her face and never complained. I'm a very detailed person and she found every single answer to every single question I had. I appreciate Myrna for all of her patients because I called the office a handful of times because I was trying to settle my mind and she gave me knowledge to complete my journey with her team. Thanks again to the best office in San Diego

Negative experience: Unprofessional and rude staff. They don't answer the phone with a proper customer service greeting (it's like they are burdened), There is no message on their answering machine that they are closed for lunch, scheduling staff did not want to call to confirm Medi-Cal / Dental-Cal insurance benefits. She said it was "useless". If a staff member can say that to a customer easily I would not think twice to accept services from their office. Edited after dental work: I shouldn't have given them another chance. So I was asked to pay the co pay before the work even began because "Medi-Cal doesn't pay" them. I did not want to dispute them in front of my special needs son who was the patient so I just paid it. The staff did not bill insurances correctly. They billed Dental Cal first and not the primary. The reason Medi-Cal is "useless" to them because they don't bill them properly. It's important you know that when I tried to call back and get some help and explanation, Lena claimed she was the office manager and owner when she doesn't even answer the phone professionally. They wouldn't even let me speak to the dentist himself about the concerns of the office. I hope he is reading this. DO NOT GO HERE!

Negative experience: Horrible! Don't go there. Have been a patient for four years. I was waiting on a call back for my crown to be approved, never got a call back, that was more than six months ago. Recently, I have called 5 times to schedule a cleaning and not one returned phone call., I love the dentist but the staff is destroying his business. Maybe he retired. The staff he has hired is unprofessional, lack of follow up, and will never return phone calls, ever! I'm guessing he doesn't need the business.

Negative experience: DO NOT RECOMMEND. My experience with the Dr was horrible. Reguardless of this, after my exam I left home with intense tooth pain I did not have before. I called the office immediately to maybe get squeezed in or get some advice due to the pain. I called over a series of 4 days with multiple voicemails and not a single call back. I finally got a call back today and it was not a call back, they were confirming an appt and at this point I told her I have been trying to call for days and left important voicemails so I’d like to cancel and not go back. She did not care. This clinic does not care about patients care or feedback.

Fantastic experience: What a great group of people! They are extremely professional, courteous, and kind. I actually found them by accident in 2024. I had a toothache without an assigned dentist, so I began calling dental offices in my area. Theirs was the last office that I contacted because the attendant told me, "The MD will take care of you once you arrive. Travel safely." When I told her the most I could afford for the extraction, she replied, "We'll work with your insurance benefit!" The staff is attentive, and Dr. Ghassan Jayyar is the best dentist for me, a 76-year-old woman who has not taken good care of her teeth! They may or may not shut everything down for lunch. If you arrive early to your 2 PM appointment, the lights may be off and the doors may be locked; however, they will return before your appointment time. I highly recommend the East County Family Dental clinic because I always leave feeling better than when I came to my appointment! ✔️

Negative experience: I came in after many years of not getting good dental care.. I had a good health plan from my job... i never had a consult with the dentist... I told them I was looking into dentures, and that is what happened...... That is my stupidity I didn't ask for other options!!! Also, they overcharged me personally, which my dental plan eventually paid me back. But today I sit with dentures that do not work or fit.. . I can't even use the bottom dentures.... I had discussed it with them numerous times. NEVER HAVE SAT AND talked to the Dentist.Only see the denture technician.. no, matter what I have told him he does not listen about fit, comfort, etc.. He just says you need this or that... Has been hard for me to want to go back... And I won't.... Don't let this happen to you..

Negative experience: Place sucks, lied about being able to fix an issue I had after I explained to them what my issue was they had me come in and then wanted to charge me out of pocket when they could have told me over the phone that my insurance wasn’t going to cover it. They knew before hand because I heard the girl telling another girl before they even seen me

Fantastic experience: From the initial dental examination, explanation and possible options of treatment to the final adjustments, was all done with high professional standards. I especially appreciate front office attendant Myrna for her friendly attitude and genuine concern. Was always a pleasure to discuss payment options and scheduling visits. All the Doctors, attendants, and. Specialists that gave me treatment were always concerned with my comfort. Fabi, who recently made my final adjustment, always concerned about my dental comfort. Highly recommend this Dental Office for any dental care.

The assistants are very pleasant and professional, the counter clerks are super helpful and always have a smile on, and the dentist himself is amazing. Incredibly professional (asks if he can do a tmj test on you before just doing it) and also just a tad of fun too so it isn’t just a boring day at the dentist’s office (of course he reads the room first). I would 100% recommend East County Family Dental Center to others.

Negative experience: Waited 1 hour in waiting room first visit and 45 minutes next visit. Second visit was next day after first. Tried to do xrays again when done day before. Equipment broken down/ poorly maintained. Office staff disorganized. Will not return!

Fantastic experience: I gave this dental center a try as I was fed up with 2 previous dentists and their lack of experience and over charging,and honestly just not very nice. I have very sensitive teeth,I need alot of novocaine and I can't tolerate cold water as I have an exposed nerve which previous dentists did not fix. This is not a fancy place but Dr. Jared and his staff do a fantastic job, they only use warm water and give me enough novocain so I feel no discomfort. Dr. Jared is very smart and told me all the things I needed to take care of with my teeth. My insurance covered about 80 percent. So far I am very pleased and would highly recommend this dental center!

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: I’ve had a very busy last 20 months, never found another dentist to try, but this office called me! I told her my experience from last October and she said she was sorry for my experience, but that they were under new ownership and would I consider trying them again. I said I would and had my appointment yesterday. They were all lovely and the new dentist was very nice and thorough. I was stunned and saddened by the seven small chips I need to have filled… I only felt one and he recommended a deep root cleaning Ugh… but I value my teeth so I shall do it. I am very happy with my service this time and I am very hopeful I will not have a terrible experience with the fillings or deep root cleaning in October. ****++++++++*^***^^****+++++++++*^****** 10-18-24 This was my first visit. I just switched insurance to Medicare and am trying the HMO dental free before I pay the $52 a month for PPO. The front desk women were very nice, the man who I assume was the dentist-he never introduced himself-was nice as well. However, there seemed to be disorganization and some confusion in the air. Apparently some employee wasn’t coming in so rescheduling started happening with two other people in waiting room and calls were made to several patients to reschedule. I was welcomed back by the man/dentist and asked to look at a screen with what looked like all different patients’ names on the schedule—I was asked if my name was spelled correctly. The HIPPA violation was off putting for certain. My X-rays were taken and then I was ushered into the dental chair. The man/dentist was very thorough with his inspection of my teeth. Then he turned to chart some things and turned to me and said “ok, the hygienist comes in on Mondays, you can go out to the waiting room”… I said “wait, my teeth aren’t getting cleaned today?” He replied, “no, it’s still hard to get people to come in”… that’s when I said “ I’m sorry, this won’t work for me, I’m a busy woman and I don’t have time to make two separate appointments for a one appointment visit. I gathered my things and left. No one questioned me or called me to ask or explain anything. This experience was most unfavorable. I will be contacting Delta Dental to find another dental office.

Fantastic experience: I was impressed with the teamwork that was displayed between the staff and Dr. Jared. The office was clean and organized. I was able to get an appointment quickly and had three services performed at the first visit! That was appreciated, as having my time respected is important to me.

Fantastic experience: I really didn't want to see another dentist, I was in pain and made an appointment with East County Family Dental Center because they were close by. I did some research on the facility and wes reluctant to follow through because of the negative comments that I read, but I needed to have my tooth looked at. I was greeted by a very sweet receptionist ( Mirna ) and when I went back to see the Dentist, they were all very welcoming. Fati is an amazing assistant that has skills beyond belief when it comes to making a comfortable fit for dentures. The Dr.'s there are all very professional and so polite, I feel like a celebrity every time I go there, they all know my name and make me feel confident about my smile when I was so unhappy with my smile before I went there. Mirna ( the receptionist ) is so great at her job, I was a little uneased about payments and dealing with the insurance, she took the rains and talked with the insurance provider and myself to clarify all the details. It truly is an amazing place to get dental care. If it weren't for the staff there and the care they provided i wouldn't be writing this. Thank you East County Family Dental Care

Negative experience: Don’t come here. I had the worst possible experience. I came in for a check-up and they found some cavities and filled them. A few days later, I started having intense pain that got worse and worse until I couldn’t even sleep at night. I went back and they told me the filling was done wrong and was putting too much pressure on the tooth, causing the pain. That’s not the problem. Mistakes happen. The problem is what they said after they fixed the filling. He told me, “If the pain doesn’t go away in 3 days, come back and we’ll do a root canal.” That immediately sounded wrong, so I got a couple second opinions. And as I suspected, a root canal should be the absolute last resort. Any decent dentist will tell you that after a bad filling, it can take weeks for a tooth to calm down and heal. The first step should be fixing the filling, not jumping to a root canal. If I had listened to them, I’d have a dead tooth right now for no reason. It feels like they were more focused on upselling an expensive procedure than actually helping me heal. I won’t be back.

Negative experience: The business is very unprofessional, the equipment is in disarray. The technician that was working in my room was obviously sick, coughing and sniffing. I was scheduled at 8AM but they were still preparing to open. I will find another dentist

Fantastic experience: I was greeted by the receptionist and filled out paperwork. I then had dental photos taken prior to seeing Dr. Jared the dentist. I had my exam and a course of treatment action was discussed. I had a good experience and I will return in a week.

Negative experience: They send me on my way saying I didn’t have insurance. That was incorrect: they filled out their paperwork wrong. It was rather annoying having to sit in the waiting room having to fix their mistake by me calling the insurance company. Furthermore, the dentist’s approach was not very professional: talked down like I was a little kid. I do not recommend this dentistry office

Positive experience: For the most part it was very good. The only issue i have is the elderly dentist doctor, was really rude to the reception area. I was standing right there and he was chewing her out. That will drive patients away. He was too worried about his lunch than he was patients.

Negative experience: I do not recommend! Have been a long term patient but when attempting to to get an appointment for a routine cleaning, I was told that I would have to wait until the end of July. Today is May 7! I explained that I was experiencing some pain but it made no difference.

Fantastic experience: Initial visit with Dr. Jared resulting from my changing providers. Exam was thorough and x-rays were taken. Dr. Jared was very efficient with his and my time.

Negative experience: Make sure when they say meds will be sent to your pharmacy that they are twice went with out antibiotics or pain meds after having teeth removed. Not soft handed at all. Wondering if I. Can get a refund to go somewhere else and have them finish my denture process. They also did prep work for a crown on my son before getting it approved and put a temp filling in that falls out once a week it's going on 3 months now and still have to go back and forth every time it falls out. Knocked a tooth loose extracting one of mine that causing pain and every time I go back it's five minutes just gotta measure your bite. When should I come back we will call you I'm over it I WANT A REFUND FOR THE WORK THATS NOT FINISHED SO I CAN GO ANYWHERE ELSE AND HAVE IT COMPLETED.

Fantastic experience: Went in with the worst tooth pain I’ve ever dealt with that kept me from sleeping the entire night before. Ended up getting a root canal the same day and everything went great. Appreciate their help.

Negative experience: Do not recommend this dental office at all! My appointment was at 9:00 and I was a new patient. Sat down to fill out paperwork and suddenly the receptionist disappears. 10 minutes go by as I sit in the lobby waiting and another patient comes inside. She proceeds to stand at the counter waiting to speak with someone because she just needed to drop off a check. We both look around and ask for help saying “hello, hello”…. Nothing. Another 5-10 minutes go by and another patient walks in. Still not one worker to be found. At this point the lady with the check calls the office to see if that will get them to answer. Nope. The phone was at the lowest volume possible. Now we are both frustrated just waiting for something, anything. The other 2 patients needed to be somewhere at a certain time so they leave. By this time it is 9:30-9:35 and finally someone comes walking out (on her phone like she was bored and had nothing better to do) and she calls my name. I expressed my frustration to them and explained that the other 2 patients had left due to their lack of attentiveness. She did not care to hear what I had to say and proceeds to walk me to get my xrays done while going back and forth on her phone and even takes a phone call while working with me. I should have left by 9:20 but they threaten to charge a $50 fee. All this to say, they are disrespectful, and extremely unprofessional. I will never be going back there again.

Negative experience: I did not have a good experience. I'm given 2 stars out of kindness. I did not choose to go here, well it was an recommendation. I go to this area from time to time and thought it would be a good fit. I went, filled the paper work, had an exam, received an estimate, etc. It was more about what the estimate than anything else. The person working, doing paper work is judgemental. I'm OK with the dentist. He seemed to know his what he is doing, but it was not a comfortable event. Not going back. You asked me what I thought, this is my opinion.

Fantastic experience: The staff and dental team are very cordial. I first came here because I needed teeth pulled and they were close by and quick. If you are a senior or sensitive to pain insist on more anesthetics when they ask you if you are numb. They also fixed a corner chip on my front tooth and restructured my chipped back molar with a zirconia crown. Beautiful strong job. Cosmetic Dentistry is his specialty. They see you at your scheduled time without any long waits. You can get your post dental surgery antibiotics next door at the pharmacy.

Negative experience: My daughter went there in pain and they said she didn’t have anything, I took her somewhere else and she had cavities, can’t believe they didn’t find anything when they did X-rays on her

Negative experience: Fractured a tooth almost 20 years ago. My pediatric dentist reattached the fragment and it finally fell out again while working out next door at Anytime Fitness. Red flag #1 was when they said they were going to give me a crown rather than reattach the fragment. Red flag #2 was when the doctor was using a dental probe to check the remainder of my tooth and my lips were getting numb in the process. Luckily I walked out and found a dentist that could reattach the fragment of the tooth to my tooth. I’d recommend that this dentist office cleans their dental tools in between patients and attends a seminar to learn how to properly attach tooth fragments.

Fantastic experience: New to the area, had been searching for a dental office. I am very pleased with my service and the polite and friendly staff, dentist and hygienist. I am thankful to have located a caring office. My procedures, so far, have been handled with great care and attention.

Positive experience: I woke up feeling miserable. I had a headache . I had a throbbing sensation . When I looked in the mirror I saw why. I had pus coming out from an infected area of my gum tissue. I called Dr. Jared's office. They were able to see me that morning. He cleaned it out. I did not experience any pain. He (Dr. Jared), prescribed me an antibiotic and Ibuprofen. I felt better immediately. The staff made me feel welcome. I have MediCal and Medicare. I am waiting to see if they will approve the work that needs to be done because the problem originated from a crown that wasn't seated right, which allowed bacteria to enter. Thus, the infection. I have had to cross the border for dental work that my insurance won't cover. But, this time, I didn't have to cross the border. I am thankfull for that.

Negative experience: When I showed up for my semi-annual teeth cleaning appointment, I was given xrays (even though I had xrays 6 months ago) and an exam by Dr. Jared who seemed to have difficulty controlling the instrument used to check gum depth because his hands were shaking so bad - resulting in pain and bleeding and questionable accuracy. Dr. Jared spoke to the assistant who was recording the information in my chart, but not to me. I was then told to go back to the waiting room where the front office person asked me to prepay for several hundred dollars worth of extra treatment that had not been explained to me. When I asked about the scheduled teeth cleaning, I was initially told that I failed to properly schedule my cleaning appointment (uh, no), then it was revealed that the hygienist's work schedule had changed some time ago and it was standard in the industry to not notify the patient (not at any other dental office I had ever been to over the past 60 years), but if I wanted to schedule the additional work, their earliest appointment was in two months and they could do my cleaning then. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Fantastic experience: East County Family Dental Center is a great place to have your dental needs met. I had a crown crack and the work was excellent. Dentist was really good. The dental hygienist is out of this world good. He did a great job and even followed up post my laser and deep cleaning. I love the girls in the office. Give this place a chance because the more staff I met the more I am thrilled to have found this dental group.

Negative experience: This place sucks. They try and do things to you, just to get money. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE WATER TO RINSE YOUR MOUTH AND THEY HAVE A SUCKER THEY PULL OVER OCCASIONALLY. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE EQUIPMENT THAT'S APPROPRIATE!!! I went there and they did things to my teeth that they shouldn't have. I was in more pain for the next two weeks when I left then I was when I went in. The next day I went to a different dentist, they just straight pulled my teeth, no root canals and all the extra BS this place was trying to do. Not to mention I called three times and they never called me back. The only time they called me back was to make sure I was coming to my next appointment. They never called back when I left messages about my pain or concerns!! I found a better dentist and within a week; I had my four teeth pulled and a partial.

Negative experience: The Drs there do not know what they are doing the staff are not on the same page when it comes to procedures I had three root canals done then they had to do impressions for temp crowns not once but twice so they renoved the 1st crowns & was asked to do impressuons again the.n had the temp crowns put on again after the second temp crowns Ive been in horrible pain on tooth 6 9 and 11 and keep biting my lip my bite is way off and have been conveying this to the staff & have left messages even when adjusting the bite I am still in.constant pain I would no recommend this office at all need to file a complaint Ive asked for the form from them and they yet not provided one so dissapointed & in pain

Fantastic experience: Best San Diego east county dental practice in the area. Affordable & professional service. Dr. Jared & friendly staff have given superb service when I am on Medi-Cal and can’t afford regular dental cost. But they still return my teeth in healthy conditions with little or no money out of pocket in the past 6 years. Thank you for your service & my great smile.

Negative experience: The employees were not very friendly or courteous. Most of them gave the air of probably wishing they could be somewhere else. The communication of what they were doing was almost nonexistent. A lot of time spent waiting without any explanation for the delay. Very impersonal experience. Now, I can relate to what a cow feels like at the slaughterhouse. They got the job done but the atmosphere was really uncomfortable from my point of view.

Fantastic experience: I love that the office is not too far away from me, I like that I don't have to wait to long to be seeing, the friendly staff, I like the work that is being done on my teeth and grateful for the help that the Yung lady who works at the desk because I know she has a lot of work, and sometimes we don't make it easy. Fantastic experience: I have had 3 visits to ECFDC. All have been xlnt experiences. 1) Annual evaluation and cleaning, very friendly and professional staff 2) 2 wisdom teeth extraction, smooth and painless, took all of 15 min (still can’t get over how easy and painless it was) with local anesthesia only, quick recovery 3) 2 crowns still in process, but temporary’s fit great .

Fantastic experience: A crown that I got 10 years ago came loose. I called for an appointment to have it re-cemented. They brought me in the same day. I was in and out quickly with my crown cleaned and re-cemented.

Fantastic experience: The whole team was very polite and professional. I like the idea that they do everything there from root canals etc. I was explained every step of the way of the procedure.
