Cypress Family Dental

Negative experience: I am currently dealing with a tooth cracked to the root and have been in excruciating pain for the past two days. While I appreciate that the dental associate has safety protocols regarding medication, the current plan of rotating Tylenol 3 and Ibuprofen 800mg is unfortunately not working. I was told it would work 'really well,' but it only relieves about 70% of the pain and wears off in half the time, leaving me in severe distress for hours between doses. After paying $230 out of pocket toward a $1,000 bill, it is incredibly disheartening to leave an office still suffering and feeling like my level of pain wasn't fully understood or listened to. I am returning in two days for the extraction, and I genuinely hope the team will be more attentive to patient comfort and pain management moving forward.

Positive experience: Staff great/on time. I just can’t believe it cost 585.00 to get my teeth cleaned. No transparency on the charges before hand. Just done and bill presented. May be this is normal, but to me a bit expensive

Fantastic experience: Cypress Family Dental is a great group of Dentists and Technicians. I am able to be seen ontime. My Hygienists is very thorough and pleasant. She keeps me informed throughout the process.

Negative experience: The dentists themselves were great, and the hygienist I saw was good as well except mentioning politics here and there. Unfortunately, the front desk staff and office management made the overall experience incredibly frustrating. Communication is a mess — they rarely answer the phone and text from multiple different numbers, making it confusing to know which number to respond to. I often tried calling instead of texting because of this, but getting someone on the phone was difficult. The biggest issue was insurance transparency. I was told my cleaning would be covered by insurance, and during my appointment, staff verbally told me my insurance would also cover X-rays and encouraged me to proceed. Months later, I received a bill for over $400 because they filed it differently than what was explained to me, and there was no clear communication about network status or potential costs. I have since left the practice and am still struggling to get ahold of someone to have my records forwarded elsewhere. It’s disappointing because the clinical staff was good, but the administrative side of the office made staying impossible.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time at this office and it was SPECTACULAR ❣️. Clean, beautiful, and the Hygenist and Dentist were exceptional!! Will go back again❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: Had to go in for a crown today and was out with the finished product within two hours. Dr. Michael Walker did a fabulous job. He explained every step to me and he seemed to "nail it" first time through. I've had crowns in the past and it took at least two visits and endless detailing. My crown was made right in the office. I highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: I have chipped my tooth, eating peach and Cypress family dental have been able to fix it with no issues. The team was very friendly and informative experience that did not take long at all to get it fixed. When I looked in the mirror to see if the color would be different I was surprised to see that the tooth has looked like the chip has never happened. This has been the best experience I have had at the dentist office.

Fantastic experience: Recently went to Cypress for the first time for some emergency dental work. Their initial response to my request to be seen as soon as possible was quick and helpful. Concerning the actual dental work, their team is awesome -- gentle, caring and thorough! Dr. Walker did a great job and ensured I was comfortable and informed throughout my entire procedure. Negative experience: The Company promotes ads on Social Media sites. Free gift with new patient exam. I participated, attended, and got a cleaning but received no gift. They display a Yeti or Starbucks cup, which I did not get! Deceptive advertising at its finest!

Fantastic experience: Hygienist Halley was gentle and knowledgeable. She made every effort to ensure I was comfortable. I have not taken the best care of my oral health and was feeling ashamed, however she did not make me feel judged or embarrassed. She explained everything that she was doing and clearly communicated the steps it would take for me to improve my oral health. Dr. Walker is probably an efficient and thorough professional however I couldn't hear a word he said because he was too handsome for me to focus on anything other than his face. Not a great reason to select a dentist but it doesn't hurt. The administrative staff were also friendly and professional. Great customer service, 10's across the board.

Negative experience: Came in with no dental pain. Left with a crown that never felt right, ongoing jaw pain, and a night guard that cost me ~$550 out of pocket — which I was told would be mostly covered by insurance. I’ve spent several thousand dollars and am in more pain now than when I started. The dentists were kind. Communication and billing transparency were not. I hope this helps others ask the right questions up front. Update: In response to the business reply, I did not use poor language, make threats, or behave abusively. I attempted to discuss these concerns privately and requested escalation, which was declined. My concern was being told one thing about costs in advance and charged more after the fact, along with ongoing pain following treatment.

Dr Eaves is very professional, friendly and she answers all my questions about what she is doing and why and a big plus is that she is gentle. I had to replace a tooth that became infected due to an old filling cracking. They did the Crowne implant replacement and it feels and looks as good as new! Highly recommended!

Negative experience: I originally gave a good first impression review that I now have to retract. I paid out of pocket for a cleaning and EXAM. The cleaning was fine. The dentist was only concerned about the high ticket item that needed replacement not what happening underneath. Today a week later I had a emergency root canal with severe infection to the tooth that the tooth next it also needs a root canal. I guess don't be fooled by the state of the art equipment you still need a skilled Dr.

Negative experience: Here’s my experience. The hygienist was exceptional as always and has been great the many years I’ve gone to her. The dentist however should loose her license. I had a crown fall out and needed to be glued back in. The Karen refused to do it claiming it didn’t fit. I told her it was one of their crowns and it fit before it fell out. She chose to argue and told me to come back tomorrow and have another dentist do the work. I went to lunch, It was a great lunch at Southern general, and walked in to John’s Island Dental Associates. Upon waiting a short time and providing needed personal information I was sat down, X-ray d, explained what I needed and what I experienced at Cypress Dental and the refusal of the Karen dentist to glue in the crown. Dr Beatty shaved a bit of the crown to fit and glued it in. I walked out of Dental Associates and saved over a $1,000.00. Cypress Dental is like going into a used car lot and getting ripped off.

Fantastic experience: October 2023 - While we haven’t gotten down to the poking and drilling part of my care, if my first visit is any indicator of the competency of what is to come then my mouth is in very good hands. Having just retired and relocated, choosing a new dentist is not easy. The dentist and staff at Cypress family dental made it better than easy. November 2025 - I am completely satisfied with the care and service I have received from Cypress Family Dental. I’m a 74 year old man who’s just had his mouth refurbished (take care of your teeth, kids) under the guidance and coordination of CFD. I’m in the final stages of implants and adjustments and already I can say I’d do it again tomorrow.

Fantastic experience: When you first walk in they greet you like family. Gracie is amazing I cannot say enough good things about her. Shae who did my X-rays and cleaning. Very very through. Doctor Walker was also nice to deal with. True professionals.

Negative experience: $240 for a 30 minute evaluation. Would not recommend as their prices climb higher and higher for such little work.
