She took the time to read my chart & educate herself re: my dental routine & care including having warm water available as I'm VERY cold sensitive. I left there feeling very good & looking forward to my next appointment. Today ( 12/18/25 ) I met Tina who was wonderful ~ kind ~ gentle ~ had a good sense of humor. She had great tips & was very informative re: dental care.

They spend a lot of time checking/cleaning my teeth to make sure nothing is amiss. Services (i.e. whitening) are recommended but not forced. They listen to your needs and remember patients as individuals. Their office is always inviting and clean.

Experiencia fantástica: I was very impressed with the quality of care when I went in for my standard cleaning. My teeth are normally very stained from coffee, but my hygienist (Tina) was able to get them whiter than any other dentist I have been to. She was also able to determine that the active ingredient on the toothpaste I was using was actually contributing to the stain and recommended arm and hammer brand, which was been working much better for me. Dr. Bartley was very thorough in the checkup afterwards. I would highly recommend switching to South Barrington Dental Care!

I had a crown done a couple of years ago, and it’s been popping in and out ever since. Looking back, I’m not even sure a crown was necessary. I also find it hard to believe there isn’t a single negative review.

Experiencia negativa: Dr. Athar is a caring and compassionate dentist. Makes you feel comfortable and didn't make me feel bad for the shape of my teeth. Her team is friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend. Spent a large amount of money to fix my teeth and was going great, till Dr. Athar left and now the new dentist wants $20-30k more to fix what was supposedly "more than they thought" I've emailed twice to get my records and proof of payments and now they just decided to stop replying.

Experiencia fantástica: Super friendly and super competent. Dr. Athar caught a very scary tiny hole in my husband’s jaw bone that was from a prior surgery (15 yrs ago) that never healed properly. She was the first dentist in 15 yrs who caught this and I’m so thankful because bacteria could have gotten in there and been lethal. She had great periodontist referral who did the proceed and it healed great! Also my kid loves going to her as well. Great with kids! So grateful for her expertise.

I LOVE them here, everyone is caring, supporting and understanding. No one there judges you for bad dental habits and I have never had a dentist personally call me the next day to see how I did after a procedure. They are amazing and I am glad I have found them.

My dental hygienist was very thorough and explained everything she was doing. Dr Athar found a small dental carie and scheduled me for a filling. The day of the procedure Dr Athar explained everything that she was doing, as well as what to expect in the next few days. She even called me the next day to see how I was doing. It shows she really cares about her patients. I honestly enjoy going to the dentist. I’ve been with South Barrington Dental Care for several years now and can’t imagine ever going anywhere else.
