Experiencia fantástica: This was my first visit and the review I read about Shaw DDS and staff are true, THEY ARE GREAT. Everyone was very kind and professional. The office was modern and clean. They took care of my insurance and let me know my coverage, I Was Well-informed. My cleaning and x-rays went really well and we’re expedited rapidly and with efficiency because of the technology they have and most of all I was very comfortable and felt that everybody was attentive to my needs, which is very important. After my cleaning, the doctor came to see me and was just following up with some of the concerns I had about a previous dental experience, which was very thoughtful, and he answered some of my concerns and questions about teeth whitening, which I decided to put off to the next visit. I also told the dentist that I wanted to come in every four months. I really do take pride in my teeth, and I feel that by choosing Dr. Shaw and Staff I have chosen the right Dentist to help me care for my hygiene and dental needs. I am happy to call the office my primary dentist… I feel I made the right choice for my personal care

When I came back for my filling, it was fast and painless. I was in and out within the hour, and the woman who gave me my shot did it so incredibly I didn't even feel a pinch. I'm disappointed they're no longer accepting Medi-Cal and I'll have to go someplace else. I would love to stay a patient otherwise. Please reconsider accepting Medi-Cal patients.

I had a crown replaced here, and they have an in-house mill and oven to craft the crown on site, so everything was completed in a single appointment. I initially came to them for a second opinion after getting an outlandish quote from a different dentist in the area for some fillings. Dr. Chadha was very conservative and he, alongside his team, explained the diagnostic strategies for each type of dental work and made sure I felt comfortable (financially and physically) prior to undergoing the procedures. By the end of my dental work here, I genuinely enjoyed spending time here. Jayden does outstanding work and is incredibly detail oriented!!! This family-owned business will take great care of you and provides high tech, high quality, and efficient dental care.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give them zero stars I would. I saw such great reviews of this dentistry and my insurance just switched and my other dentist didn’t take my new insurance. When my provider was helping me find a new dentist that took my insurance and was local, she recommended several places but this one stood out to me (based on the great reviews & how local it was). I get my first appointment scheduled and so far so good. I had just got a cleaning from my previous dentist so I had to wait but they took x rays and I explained what I felt in my mouth. I’ve always had teeth problems unfortunately but now that I am on dialysis it’s gotten worse. So they said their x rays were difficult to decipher so they sent me to the specialist they work with. But of course they do not take insurance so I had to pay out of pocket which was a lot of money for something who doesn’t have a lot. Those results were explained to me and were sent back to Dr Chadha. Except I never heard back from them. Like ever. I called and called and called. My provider even called. No answer. Left several voice mails day after day and nothing. Finally got a hold of them and they said “sorry we’ve been playing telephone tag” which is BS because I’ve been calling with no calls back or voicemails, until today. The lady (assuming the wife of the Dr) as she was there the day of my first appointment, who called was very rude. She said they don’t have the resources to treat me? And that they are understaffed? Then you shouldn’t be in business if you don’t have the resources and help for a root canal and a tooth extraction. Which are quite routine. I’ve never been denied treatment. Anywhere. If you’ve read this far. I hope you reconsider your treatment service somewhere else.

He’s thorough without ever trying to upsell unnecessary treatments like adult braces, fluoride, or fillings. He’s kind, has a great sense of humor, and you can tell he’s an excellent dentist because his office has low staff turnover. Most importantly, I have dental anxiety, and he is incredibly gentle and empathetic, which makes all the difference.

Our previous dentist from a different practice messed up a couple of my husband’s root canals and Dr Chadha was able to save his teeth. He also is very straightforward about what does or does not need to be done. We had another dentist try to sell us Invisalign, but Dr Chadha said that it was not necessary, and we have never felt like he is trying to upsell us like some other dentists do. He also takes time in every appointment to explain what he is doing and enjoys teaching patients about their teeth.

Experiencia fantástica: I came to Dr. Chadha for a second opinion after another dental office misdiagnosed an urgent root canal as a crown-only issue. I’d been in pain and unable to chew for months while the previous practice delayed care due to botched insurance submissions and finally offered a filling as a “solution.” Dr. Chadha immediately ordered proper diagnostic X-rays, ran thorough tests (none of which were done before), and clearly explained what he saw: it was an obvious root canal case, and the delay had likely compromised the long-term health of the tooth. He was direct, transparent, and made sure I understood every step. Princy, the operations manager, was equally exceptional. She assured me there would be no issues with insurance and followed through. Unlike the first office that struggled for 2.5 months, this team got everything approved within 2 weeks. She proactively updated me throughout and got me scheduled within days of approval. The root canal was complex due to the delay, but Dr. Chadha took nearly 5 hours, personally performing almost all of it to give the tooth the best shot. They use modern tech, including same-day crowns, and within a week, my tooth felt completely normal again. The office is clean, efficient, and clearly invested in patient care. Dr. Chadha gives honest, thoughtful advice and never pushes unnecessary treatments. Where other offices feel corporate or rushed, this one operates with family values. They care about quality and integrity. Best of all they are lovely people who care about your wellbeing. Since then, I’ve returned for routine care and received the same level of attention and professionalism. I only wish I had found this office sooner. Five stars, without hesitation.

Everyone is very patient and friendly. Able to answer any questions I have and transparent with everything, especially the procedures and the billing. This is a very important detail for me so I do feel comfortable coming here for my dental work. As far as my wisdom teeth extraction, the doctor took their time explaining on how it go and it went pretty quickly but still carefully. I highly recommend this place for any dental work.

Experiencia negativa: I was reluctant to write this review but I’m so upset with my experience here. Initially I was very happy since Dr. Shawn provided a consultation like session explaining my overall health and it seemed very thorough. However on my second appointment for filling, he cracked my tooth without even mentioning it to me and offered for me to come back for “adjustments.” After going back to his office for an adjustment and still have issues with my teeth, I decided not to come back. His little girl runs around the office and even around the chair while he is working on your teeth. She is super cute but is not disciplined as she will interrupt the conversations. My tooth is very sensitive to pressure, heat, and cold now after the procedure and I’m furious because I’ve never had any issues with my teeth other than a filling and I regularly go to the dentist. I would not recommend this office for any dental work. As it is a gamble on what you’ll get and they are not transparent. Beyond the pain of having a cracked tooth and the physical appearance, I know he cracked it because he put a clamp on my tooth without even mentioning it was cracked.

Dr. Chadha and his staff are very nice and accommodating. If you have a fear of dentists this is the place to go, he is honest and truly cares for your well-being and doesn’t push for procedures that are not needed. This is also a great office for UCSD students since it is within walking distance to campus!

I was quite impressed with his work and warm welcome from his team staff members I came to Dr. Chadha with extreme jaw pain and headache, couldn’t sleep for 2 days. I had trouble with my upper back teeth, however, I had persistent pain. I was quickly diagnosed with the use of CBCT. I had my root canal completed. Dr. Chadha's office does same day crowns so I was able to get my crown done. One of the best, amazing and professional.

Experiencia fantástica: Very happy with the help and treatment I got here. Many dental offices you barely see the dentist for 1 minute and dental hygienists the rest of the time. But Dr. Shadha spent time and showed real concern and thoroughness in his diagnosis and treatment. He not only identified issues previous practices missed but spent time to show the findings and explain reasonable treatment options without pushing for highest cost treatment necessarily. Absolutely recommend.
