Experiencia fantástica: Is it possible to give more than five stars? If so, I would. I had just moved here and, unfortunately, developed horrific tooth pain, and I kind of knew what I was up against. I was pretty sure I would need a root canal; having had this experience many years ago, I was petrified. It was not a good one. I was really afraid. Being here only a few weeks added to the stress. However, I was fortunate to find a wonderful local dentist who got the ball rolling and confirmed I needed a root canal. His staff quickly searched for someone who could take me in quickly. While I waited, I started to look for feedback online. One I read sounded too good to be true. Knowing this place was an option, I was willing to wait until morning. I was so glad I did. The reviews did not lie. I went to Dr. Connelly at Central Virginia Endodontics. And all I can say is, I felt very little of anything. No pain, and it felt quick. Absolutely wonderful, caring doctor and practice. I cannot thank him and his staff enough for what turned out to be a much more pleasant experience than I could have ever anticipated. If you have to have a root canal, do not fear, and book here. I have read great things about all of the dentists at this practice. I'm truly grateful that Dr. Connelly was able to perform my procedure. 5 plus stars!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr David J Connelly and his Assistant Shirley took good care of my tooth and salvaged it. I had a deep cavity in a tooth under the crown. My tooth was not hurting nor was it swollen so I was not aware of it. I didn’t know how old the crown was either. I’ve had a lot of work done on my teeth and I’ve had innumerable experiences sitting in the dentists chair. So much so that I’d just rather extract all my teeth and get dentures. Just kidding! Take care of your teeth. They are the only set of teeth you’ll ever have. Once again, thank you Dr. Connelly for your patience, hard work, dedication and commitment to your profession. I appreciate it.

Experiencia fantástica: I was new to the Charlottesville area and was not referred to Dr. Connelly for an infected root canal. I thought he and his dental assistant did a great job with a difficult situation. He talked me through the procedure while he worked, explaining each possible noise or vibration, while Shirley diligently and efficiently provided tools and assistance. I have had lots of dental work in my life, and this procedure was almost painless, especially the novocaine shots, which sometimes are the worst part of any procedure. Thank you both for making this awful root canal more than bearable.

Experiencia fantástica: Receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable. Consult for cracked tooth under a crown was thorough. Jasmine did a great job w/imaging. Was given options for treatment and together Dr. Connelly and I chose root canal instead of extraction. Office even called to bump up the appointment b/c they had a cancellation the very next day. Root canal was made through a tiny hole in crown (amazing!) Doctor C. numbed the quadrant super well, and checked in with me all along the way. He & Shirley teamed well chair-side. Dr. C. kindly answered all my questions. I am very happy with his hard work and its result.

I cannot recommend CVE enough. The dentist was professional, smooth, kind, considerate, and even though the procedure was long and complicated, I remained calm and steady because I felt that I was in knowledgeable hands. If you need that damn root canal, this is the place.

The online forms were clear and thorough, without asking intrusive questions unrelated to my issue. Central Virginia Endodontics facilities are easily accessible, clean, and well-equipped; and every person on staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Dr. Madison Saunders was able to complete my treatment on the same day as my evaluation, and I could not have been more please with the results.

Experiencia fantástica: I needed a route canal and it was my very first one. I had intense pain that was much worse with hot or cold foods. Dr. Connelly performed the procedure, there was minimal pain (for like 2 seconds). He was gentle, polite, and professional. He thoroughly explained the procedure beforehand. He’s a great dental surgeon. The staff is very polite also. It’s been one week post op and my mouth feels normal again. Thanks Doc!

Experiencia fantástica: Had a rather unique issue with a root canal from many years ago. A piece of an endodontic file was left behind down in the canal and then buried with the sealant material. Apparently, no big deal for about 15 years until some infection started to appear. Obviously, a scary scenario being so close to my brain. Dr. Saunders has been very diligent in "getting back down in there" and removing the file piece, albeit requiring more than one visit, taking her time to ensure a successful removal operation. Unfortunately, it's not a "just grab it and pull it out" operation for her. So far so good and I'm confident of a successful outcome.

Experiencia fantástica: Saw Dr. Connelly yesterday for a root canal of a problematic back molar. Everything went off without a hitch. He explained what would be done, explained what was causing the issues and what would be the result when it was all over. He told me that the pain would last about three days (only hurt a lot yesterday, today is mostly pain free), and he did so well I came close to falling asleep a few times whilst the root canal was being done. I can't recommend Dr. Connelly enough, and the entire practice, from the doctors, the dental assistants and especially the front desk staff are amazing. Thanks again! :)

Compared to my first root canal elsewhere, this was handled quickly and the procedure was very simple. This all happened during the Big Ice Storm of 2026 (haha) and they did the best they could with managing their communications. I also appreciated knowing the cost upfront and the clear after care instructions, including a free one year checkup on the health of the tooth. Would highly recommend. It is kind of weird to add a photo here, but i actually have one of the xray, which they let me take to show my super curious son, so why not?

They were super flexible and brought me in on short notice for a root canal evaluation and respective treatment. Experiencia fantástica: My experience getting a root canal here was really a good one. This is the first time I have had to receive this treatment, and I wasn't looking forward to it. The doctor and his assistant made my experience more than tolerable, and when they told me everything was finished, I was stunned, thinking that I had experienced no pain or discomfort to speak of. Furthermore, as the numbness wore off, I felt no pain, and I never even had to take one pain pill. I'm not saying everyone will experience it this way, but it most definitely was my experience.

After the procedure she explained everything in detail to me as far as post op care and the future followups. The atmosphere was comfortable and calming, and that same sense of ease was reflected in the way the staff interacted with patients. Dr. Connelly had a calming presence throughout the procedure, explaining each step clearly as he went along. I felt informed, reassured, and in excellent hands the entire time.

Dr. Connolly decided to come in specifically to see me, the next Day, so I could begin my healing process sooner . I’m not very brave about dental procedures but she was very reassuring and kind and really expertly numbed the area so that I felt no pain whatsoever during the procedure. I was surprised and so relieved! Following the procedure she explained very clearly what to expect. Ibuprofen was completely adequate for the discomfort I felt after the anesthesia wore off. Today is the day following my root canal treatment and I am almost completely pain free. So impressed!! So I’m grateful to have found Dr Saunders and so relieved.
