Experiencia fantástica: Anyone reading reviews deciding if they should go with La Quinta Dental, please do! I’ve only had positive experiences with La Quinta Dental Group in my few visits. From the start when I checked in with Vivian, I was greeted with a friendly smile and great attitude. Dr. Kim and Dr. Stanway have both taken their time answering all my questions without making me feel rushed like at other dental offices. Before my cleaning, I appreciated Vanessa helping me with the breakdown of the services I was going to receive that day. During my cleaning appointment, Gabby made the session smooth with no pain at all- even when I let it be known that I have sensitivity and dental discomfort when visiting other dental centers’ hygienists. All the staff members I’ve encountered in my visits have been kind and helpful.

Amber and Julie helped me schedule my appointment and fit me in on short notice. Lili and Remi were amazing assistants welcoming, professional, and friendly. Vivian was also super helpful and went above and beyond to help me understand and maximize my insurance benefits. I also had the chance to meet the manager, Vanessa, and it made complete sense why this office runs so smoothly.

Experiencia negativa: Today, I am ending my 9 year relationship with La Quinta Dental AKA Smile Generation Corp. I highly recommend if you’re a patient of this office and/or use a Smile Generation office - check. Get a second opinion on your work such as in my situation a crown or root canals. I have noticed a pattern. Every time I get a crown, a few weeks later a root canal is recommended without symptoms. Why didn’t I notice this sooner? I have never had one before I started this office 9 years ago! Now we have ChatGPT!! Put in your symptoms. I had a crown placed 3 weeks ago. 1 week ago I went in for symptoms of sensitivity and throbbing. I was told before examination the throbbing means I need a root canal. Then came the examination. The drilling which made all the necessary improvements, but no he said I needed a root canal that it would “wear off”. No articulating paper, no X-rays, just you need a root canal. I have since had no sensitivity, no pain and can eat fine! Dr. Cheung’s office gave me a referral! Today I went to an independent dentist and paid $95 dollars for X-rays, exam, adjustment and an honest assessment and guess what?? NO ROOT CANAL NEEDED. How many crowns did I get done there that turned into root canals that didn’t need it? I never experienced any of the symptoms ever! But referred to their in-house corporate specialists!

Experiencia negativa: This place is so unorganized/unethical/unprofessional!! I have great dental ins. Went I for supposed “Deep Cleaning” 28 minutes later was accosted by reception that I owe $2800! Insurance company told me I was charged for two Separate visit and two sides of my mouth! I hadn’t even had a cleaning yet?? And trust me, this was not a deep cleaning! My Husband waited in the car and was shocked that I came out within 28 minutes of having a supposed to deep clean! PS please be aware I was charged for date and services that I never ever received or went in for! The insurance company had a list of dates and services that never happened! This was just so underhanded and shady. I can’t believe that you can’t trust a dental office.!! And our insurance company who reiterated with us that this was fully covered. Kept getting bills with different amounts and services as well ……….., Beware of this office!

Experiencia negativa: I was a patient here for nearly 9 years, and in the beginning the service was great. Unfortunately, my most recent visit (around November 2025) was a very disappointing experience. I was told I needed a deep cleaning and quoted around $1,000+ out of pocket, which didn’t feel right to me. When I asked questions and said I wanted to check with my insurance, the staff member assisting me became noticeably rude and made me feel uncomfortable and pressured to proceed. I decided to get a second opinion, and I’m glad I did another dental office confirmed that a deep cleaning was not needed and that my insurance actually covers a regular cleaning. I also followed up and spoke directly with the office manager, back in December 2025 with Vanessa Mora, but the response I received was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive which was very disappointing. I hope Dr. Cheung is aware of how patients are being treated. As an office manager, patients should feel heard and respected, not rushed or pressured. I recommend others get a second opinion before agreeing to costly treatments. My experience here was very disappointing.

From start to finish, they were professional, compassionate, and made me feel completely at ease. I came into this office with a lot of trust issues after a difficult experience with one of their sister offices, and I can honestly say this team completely changed that for me. They have taken such incredible care of me. My case requires multiple specialists, and what really stands out is how well they are all working together to coordinate everything. That level of communication and teamwork has given me so much peace of mind. I’m truly grateful for their care and for going above and beyond to help me.

Gabriela Villegas is the best dental hygienist I've ever had in my life, and Dr. Cheung is an amazing Dentist. Dr. Joseph Kim (periodontist) is on site and extremely talented. La Quinta Dental Group comes with my highest recommendation.

I was very surprised and I feel truly blessed that people like him happen to be my doctors in the US. He rebonded my permanent retainer that came off my two teeth and took so much stress of my shoulders today. And he even said a phrase in my native language, which I appreciate. Experiencia negativa: Total waste of time. Terrible communication and if you’re wheelchair-bound, don’t even bother trying to come here. We had an appointment for 1pm today, came in early to check in, and while they quickly called in everyone else who came at the same time as us, we waited 30 minutes before I finally got up and double checked that we were checked in. Then a few minutes later, they tell me the dentist who will be seeing my dad is coming. But the biggest issue is that the chair they do cleanings on can’t be moved around at all. I still tell the dentist that I’ll try and transfer him and she agrees that would be best before starting the x ray exam. So I go back to the waiting room to get my dad but then the dentist disappears. We wait another 10 minutes wondering where the heck she is, and it’s only when I go up to the receptionist again and try to ask what’s going on that the dentist reappears. I try to transfer my dad onto the chair but since there’s no flexibility with the cleaning chair, it’s not possible. However, I specifically told the receptionist I made the appointment with that my dad was wheelchair bound and that it’s difficult for him to get out of the wheelchair. If the receptionist had mentioned that there could’ve been some difficulty involved, I would’ve at least considered that before coming to this appointment, but the receptionist made it seem like it wouldn’t be a problem at all. My dad was so frustrated and embarrassed. We didn’t even get so much as a goodbye when we left, it’s like they didn’t even care. I was going to recommend this place to a friend but after I explained this ordeal, they will also be going elsewhere.

Despite positive experiences with the clinical staff, I am dropping my review for this practice to one star, due to the unprofessional service provided by their office staffer, Vivian. Apparently, her duties not only include harassing phone calls, but also blocking communication with the clinical staff, unless you are present for another charged appointment. After being denied treatment on two appointments, Vivien refused to forward their requested documentation to confirm treatment approval before a third attempt—kind of makes their email address and online patient portal worthless. (Original) Very positive experience with hygienist Brianna Tan for my deep cleaning. She took time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and provided valuable recommendations for my oral care. Her gentle yet thorough approach was very much appreciated. I really wanted to grant 4 stars to La Quinta Dental Group. Unfortunately, I received a rude and confrontational phone call from the office, following a simple price estimate inquiry prior to my visit. It's disheartening that questioning a price led to such hostile and unprofessional treatment. And ironically, the discrepancy magically resolved by my appointment time.

Experiencia fantástica: 3rd visit here for treatment on receiving a new denture. Been very impressed with the friendly environment presented by the staff of this dental office. Dr. Cheung, Vanessa, Vivian and Rami were standouts during my visit with their kind and welcoming approach. For this third visit, I had a few extractions and a temporary denture done. Dr. Cheung was great throughout the whole process. He eased my nerves while explaining the procedure and answered all the questions I had. Surprised how quick and smoothly it went. Would recommend this place to anyone thanks to Dr. Cheung and the staff… 5 stars!

Experiencia negativa: I wanted to get my basic teeth cleaning. I was told about things I needed to do at a $500 plus charge. I was told that without the $500 added procedure I couldn't get the basic cleaning. So I probably used my insurance for the x-ray. I didn't know of extra costs involved. That decision should have been mine to make. I felt I was being railroaded. The tech was kind and informative. At the direction of the doctor I couldn't get what I came in for. Disappointed.

I came in as a brand new patient with a recently broken back tooth. I was certain I needed an extraction but Dr. Chang completely saved my tooth and installed a beautifully 3D-printed porcelain crown right on the spot! I cannot believe how great I feel right now and I got to save my broken tooth Thank you Dr. Chang for your highly skilled practice and knowledge, Joe (super cool) assistant and Vivian for taking the time to explain the procedure fees. I just found my new place to get all my dental needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ❤️

Experiencia negativa: Beware of this dental practice! They recommended a major procedure priced at $17,000 however my good insurance brought it down to $4000. I came in to get the procedure (although not convinced I really needed it) and the dentist then told me my primary care doctor needed to sign off on the procedure due to my other health concerns. So I left and asked for my $4000 back. One week + later and still no refund to my charge card. When I call their office I keep getting the run around that they have to get approval from higher up due to the size of the refund. what? So I will file a bank dispute on the charge but wanted to share this as this was their fault to begin with and I should not be paying interest on this charge while they hold my $. Shady business practices. Avoid.

Experiencia negativa: My experience with the dental hygienist at La Quinta Dental Group (Brianna) has always been very good. Unfortunately, my level of trust in the dental care beyond hers has not been as positive. I went to La Quinta Dental Group to check a mild toothache that had been quietly nagging at me for several months. It wasn’t terrible, but I thought it was worth having it checked. X-Rays were taken and Dr. Cheung informed me that I needed a root canal. He showed me the x-ray on the screen and pointed out what he viewed as “inflamed pulp”. Although I couldn’t see anything on the x-ray myself, I trusted Dr. Cheung as the expert. He explained that he would “prepare the tooth” at his office and “his” dental surgeon would perform the root canal at a different office. A few minutes later an associate with a clip board came in and explained what my insurance would cover, and what the additional out-of-pocket cost would be. When I asked if the dental surgeon’s costs were included, she explained that they were not, and that I would need to get that information directly from Inland Dental Group (the referred surgeon). Since the expense of the pending root canal was significant for me, I called the Inland Dental Group right away. While they could not give me the cost over the phone, they suggested that I make an appointment to discuss anticipated fees, which I did. The day before my appointment, someone from Inland Dental Group called to say that they needed to cancel my appointment because Dr. Cheung’s office would not provide referral information. When I called La Quinta Dental Group to ask why, they said it was their policy only to send referrals once their office had prepared the tooth. In other words, there was no way to assess the total cost of my pending root canal until AFTER my tooth was opened and prepared by Dr. Cheung. While my need to understand costs was reasonable, I felt strongly that La Quinta Dental Group’s policy seemed wholly unreasonable, and my faith in their care began to wobble. With that, I decided to find an alternate dentist to do my root canal. Upon my request, La Quinta Dental Group emailed the x-rays used for Dr. Cheung’s diagnosis and I went to see alternate dentist. To my absolute shock, this (highly reviewed) second dentist I said I DID NOT NEED A ROOT CANAL! The x-ray’s did not indicate to him that there was any pulpal involvement or inflammation at all! Instead, my care plan involved capping the molar (replacing very old fillings) to strengthen the tooth again. It is still very disturbing to think about the unnecessary tooth surgery (and HUGE expense) that I initially agreed to at this office.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience numerous times. Several times I’ve gone and they’ve had me wait for almost an hour for a scheduled appointment. Today I came for my 1pm appointment and attempted to open the door at 12:55pm as two other people arrived, and the door was locked. We all stood by the door and someone cracked it open and rudely stated “we’re having a meeting, you’re going to need to wait until 2:00pm!” to which myself and the other people waiting said “my appointment is at 1:00pm…” and the lady said “well you can wait 5 minutes”, and abruptly shut the door. Apparently she meant they would re-open at 1pm but said 2pm. When I was called back for the appointment the hygienist explained what she wanted to do and the cost. I politely explained I didn’t want to do anything at this appointment not covered by insurance. She offered to just do the cleaning, which was covered, and I agreed. She then said she wanted to do another service, and when I asked her what the cost would be she laughed, so I decided to just walk out. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone!

They’re always so helpful and take the time to answer all my questions about my dental care and insurance. To make matters worse, her assistant, Lilly, seemed to follow Vanessa’s lead, offering little help and echoing her dismissive attitude. Their behavior made it difficult to feel comfortable or respected as a patient. However, not everyone in the office shared this demeanor. Vivian stood out as a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing visit. She was kind, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful, going out of her way to provide clear information and make the process smoother. Her professionalism and empathy were greatly appreciated. Dr. Parker Stanway, unfortunately, added to the overall dissatisfaction. His advice felt inconsistent and overly sales-driven, as though he was more focused on upselling services than offering trustworthy and patient-centered care. If you are considering La Quinta Dental Group, I recommend seeking a second opinion elsewhere. While Vivian’s kindness was a positive, the overall lack of professionalism, especially from Vanessa and Lilly, along with Dr. Stanway’s approach, overshadowed the experience. Lilly prepared temporary crown and it felt great. Fast, effiecient and friendly staff. High praise for La Quinta Dental and the office manager.

Experiencia negativa: Would NOT recommend. I started taking my son to La Quinta Dental & Ortho in 2021. I signed a 24 month treatment plan for braces. During that time, the practice received full payment on time each month, even though my appointments were often re-scheduled and regularly pushed out for months at a time. In addition, there were many times I had to express my concerns about the treatment my son was receiving as they were billing our insurance for a cleaning and NOT CLEANING his teeth. My entire experience with the dental & orthodontic services offered by La Quinta Dental has been very negative and unsatisfactory. I expressed my frustration and concerns and the staff dismissed me and did not offer to remedy any of the issues or concerns I had. I finally had to request that my son’s braces be taken off so I can find a new treatment provider.

Experiencia negativa: My experience with La Quinta Dental Group was probably the worst experience I’ve had at a dentist. The entire staff was friendly and professional for the most part, but the technician that did my cleaning, in my opinion, was highly unprofessional, rude and commanding. I requested a simple cleaning but didn’t have the extra money to do the additional services recommended. I was constantly belittled and berated for not buying the extra gum treatment. On top of that, I paid for the whole cleaning, but wasn’t provided the whole cleaning. She refused to do the whole polish treatment because she said my gums were “too bad”. On top of that, it was by far the roughest and most painful cleaning I have had. I don’t recommend taking your money here.

Experiencia fantástica: Gabby was the hygienist who did my deep cleaning and she was extremely gentle taking her time not to cause me too much discomfort, with me having an extremely sensitive mouth. I have had horrible dental experiences my whole life but Dr Cheung and his entire staff at La Quinta Dental have been nothing but a blessing.

Experiencia fantástica: I LOVE this dental practice! The front office staff is very friendly and welcoming. Big shout outs to both Dominic as well as Jalil Rangel. Dominic, my hygienist is wonderful. Very thorough and explains everything beforehand. Jalil is the “miracle man” on staff! I have an absolutely horrible gag reflex so x-rays are a nightmare. He is THE BEST! Quick, very easy, and took away any worry. I’ve only been a patient here for 2 yrs, but I have been so impressed! Thank you La Quinta Dental Group!

He was very approachable, very kind and just made my Dental appointment go by very easy I was super nervous coming in and he talked me through step-by-step. not only did he make me feel comfortable, but he was very knowledgeable about my treatment . Some other assistance were a bit unapproachable, but he was very approachable

Experiencia negativa: Higenist briann tan gave my mom a horrible attitude and experience I was furious when my mother came home and told me how bad she was treated she was rough on her while having a routine cleaning .also didn’t want my mother to put her belongings anywhere but the floor she was very unprofessional .my mom said the girls at the front office wore very kind and nice and apologized for their hygienist behavior I’m sure they must be use to it . Very sad people go to work with such cruel attitudes! We all have our bad days and it’s no excuse

Experiencia negativa: I had a terrible experience at this office. I have 2 cleanings per year with my insurance. They added all these extra procedures to my bill saying I couldn’t get my cleaning until I got these procedures. They tried to force me to pay almost $300 in fees. I had to find another place to go. Seems like they just try to upsell as much as possible. Worst experience I’ve ever had. I never have been treated this way by a dentist before. Good luck

Experiencia negativa: Like many patients I would give 0 stars if I could. My son has been going here for over 2 years and it has been the most disappointing experience to say the least. I was told that 24 months is around the time that he would have his braces on but it could be a bit longers. We are now going on 2.5 years and there are still no answers to how much longer it will be. When I ask much of the blame is put on us like him not wearing his rubber bands often enough or he fact his expander didn't do enough. Speaking of his expander, his orthodontist went on maternity leave and at no point during his appointments did the workers tell me his expander was fusing inside the roof of his mouth, when I had it removed the blame was again put on me that I should've noticed and said something, they also made sure to back pedal and say any damage was not caused by them or the expander. I have had appointments cancelled and changed without my permission or even a phone call. I waited to write any review until we were finished (which we aren't) but earlier this week was infuriating enough to jump on here and give a warning to anyone thinking about coming here. It was told explicitly that the payments and price would not change when I initially signed my contract. I was billed at the first of every month and in April when I did not have a payment removed I contacted the office to find out if I was finished with payments. The office confirmed to me that I was finished and I asked if confirmation would be sent to me which they said yes. Fast forward to this week, I dropped my ALMOST 17 YEAR OLD off for his appointment like I have done for over two years while I took his 6 year old brother to his occupational therapy. My son messaged me to tell me that they would not see him because I was not there AND I owed them money. I spoke with the woman in the office who read off notes about how much I owed and she said numbers like $92 and $200 but didn't give me a specific which I then asked for. She told me she was just reading notes out loud and I owed $92.98. I asked why they wouldn't see my son without me there when I have been dropping him off for appointments for over 2 years and they said it's policy (I guess they pick the days they follow policy). I rushed back over and was then told I owed THREE payments of $92.98, so triple what I was told over the phone only 15 minutes prior. When I asked why they were not taking payments if I still owed, the woman said my card was expired, which it's not and she knew that looking at the dates. I told her that the woman I spoke with in April didn't tell me my card was expired, she told me I was paid in full. I requested to see my entire contract, payment history and balance. Low and behold 10 minutes later I magically only owed $92.98. I paid my balance and asked for paperwork showing I had fulfilled my end of the contract and everything was paid in full, 2 minutes later she gives me a paper just showing I made a payment, not an account balance which I asked for AGAIN. The next paperwork I was provided was A SCREENSHOT of her computer showing my balance is $0. So unprofessional I didn't even have words. After wasting a monumental amount of my time, I needed to pick up my 6 year old, who I assume is going to fair far worse than my 16 year old so I let them know I would be right back but they said if I left they would make him leave and I would have to reschedule because I needed after 2.5 years of not, to "stay the entire visit". My son has another appointment in a little over a month and for the first time they listed the "purpose" of the visit which is "adjustment" so AGAIN no definitive length of time for how much longer he will have them on. He is supposed to get a retainer after and although they said that was included in the total amount I originally paid I have serious doubts about them holding up their end of the bargain, especially since I have watched other patients suddenly get an added charge of almost $800 for their retainer because it wasn't "part of the braces".

Experiencia negativa: Beware of those crooks, they asked my senior mom for a $600 deposit on a work they assured her it was approved by insurance and it was just an advance of copayment, turns out insurance did not approve it and they refused to refund my mother. They were rushing her to get the money that day in case she changes her mind, at least they make 600.

Experiencia fantástica: Friendly staff, super caring and kind. Great location. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. I was seen almost immediately. Staff was knowledgable, efficient, and patient. They did not rush anything at the same time was thorough and made sure I understood and that if i had any concerns, I was heard. The hygienist was gentle with firm even pressure. Their tools didn’t give me goosebumps or made that screeching noise. It almost felt like I was at a spa appointment.

Experiencia fantástica: I just moved to La Quinta and needed to find a new dentist and Hygienist. Everyone at La Quinta was so friendly and professional. I'm very impressed. Everyone seemed to be very fluent in each of their jobs. It made me feel confident.

Experiencia negativa: All they want is your money they tried to add another $300 worth of upsell to my already ridiculous bill which I will post all while they are having a $59 new patient Groupon cleaning and x-rays but somehow my bill to my insurance is $1800 and they wanted to add another $300 to my bill. The staff at the front, Viv and Vanessa, were friendly and Dr. Cheung was there to answer all my questions with ease and a smile. The staff here has elevated my dental experience and I’m so appreciative that they made a sometimes nerve-racking experience absolutely WONDERFUL! THANK YOU

I personally see Gregory for my cleanings and he has been phenomenal. He lets me know what he is doing every step of the way and explains how I can further improve my dental hygiene at home. Ever since seeing him my oral health has been the best it’s ever been.

Experiencia negativa: VERY disappointed! They were very adamant about doing a procedure that my insurance company did not cover. For example, they wanted me to do a deep cleaning versus a regular cleaning which would be covered by my insurance company. When I asked if he would go ahead and do the regular cleaning, they said no!

Experiencia fantástica: This was my first appointment with La Quinta Dental. I found everyone to be exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. My Hygienist was Dominic Deanda, he was very thorough in explaining everything to me. It was a unique experience and my teeth have never felt so perfectly clean. Dominic went above and beyond!

Experiencia negativa: My kid just started treatment here for ortho and the dr is good so far. When they were getting my kid ready to start treatment (braces) the guy doing this was grabbing all the necessary things for it. This including everything that went in her mouth and he did it without gloves . I am in the medical field and that is a big no no. When i mentioned it to him he tells me, “oh do you want me to grab new ones” mmmh . I said yes please and so he went ahead and did. He was nice about it and didnt make it awkward but still… if you are considering this provider just consider this… she already started treatment and i cant switch i guess. That just makes me feel that if theyre not careful with this type of things what else are they not careful about

Experiencia fantástica: Dominic the RDH made my visit the best cleaning I have ever had. Not only did he explain everything that he would be doing during the visit. He was so patient about educating me on my oral health. He educated me on my oral home care. What I needed to do differently at home to make sure that my gum health improved. Overall he was very thorough with my cleaning! I never thought I’d say this but since having him as my dental hygienist I am excited to go back so he can clean my teeth.

Evidently she is just getting started with her career as a hygienist, you'd NEVER no it. She knows her stuff, no doubt about it, sooooo GRATEFUL I found her and she is to be VALUED as a Hygenist as well as an asset to any Dental office her career takes her. This was definitely the most informed procedure I have ever had. I’d give him six stars if I could. Also I experienced zero pain.
