Also, keep your appointments in check because they will setup appointments without notice and then hit you with a “no show fee”.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m a Veteran, and the VA authorized me to receive “Community Care” at Columbus Family Dental Center. I was well established with my prior dentist (not in the VA network), and if I’m being honest, the dentist is my least favorite place to be. With that said, I’m new to this facility, but everyone I’ve encountered has been professional, yet kind, and listened to my concerns about trying to stay on the treatment plan my previous dentist and I were on. Thank you!

Experiencia negativa: The office does not explain policies upon new patient scheduling. I called in and requested to schedule a yearly cleaning for myself and my kids. A week or so before the appointments they called and said there was no hygienist available and we needed to reschedule. I called the office to reschedule, and they told me they had it figured out. We went to for our appointments. Kids got their xrays and cleanings (even though one child wasnt due for xrays). They asked when my last xrays were and I told them probably 2.5 years ago. And the girl said it would be fine, they would be covered. (when in fact they were not covered). Did my xrays, seen the dentist then the girl came back in and said here is your treatment plan. And I asked a treatment plan for what? you just said I didnt have any cavities. She said for the cleaning. I was still under the impression from the second phone call, checking in and xrays that I was getting my teeth cleaned that day. She proceeds to tell me that they do not do cleanings on the first visit. That you have to come back for this. I explained to her, that I never wouldve scheduled with them if that was the case. I wouldnt make two trips for something most other offices do in one trip. So not only did I get charged for xrays that I was told would be covered, I still didnt get my teeth cleaned. I will be paying for the childrens amount owed but will not be paying for a visit that was not needed or wanted.

Experiencia negativa: I have been a patient for about 2 years. After my last cleaning, Dr. Bracken noted that a crown on one of my front teeth was worn and my tooth underneath was starting to decay. The crown was almost 20 years old and had certainly seen better days, but it had never given me trouble at all. I was able to bite into things like hamburgers and apples with no problem. She told me that she could fix it and stop the decay and that it would also look much better. That sounded great, so I made the appointment. When I came in for the procedure, which was supposed to be replacing the crown, they decided that a veneer would be better, but did not consult with me to tell me this. I didn’t find out until after the procedure was finished. That upset me. About a week later, I was biting into a breadstick and the veneer popped off. I was able to get in the same day to have it cemented back on. Although, they charged me $80 for it. I wasn’t told I was going to be charged. I found out on my way out. That upset me further. The next evening, I bit into a soft taco and the veneer popped off again. The office couldn’t get me in for 2 weeks because Dr. Bracken had been taken into emergency surgery and another dentist was going to fill in for her. I went for 2 weeks without the veneer. I’m actually glad it wasn’t Dr. Bracken who ended up replacing it the third time because it has held up so far. The dental assistant had told me to be careful and not use that tooth for biting. So I have to bite into things with the side of my mouth now. The whole thing cost almost $1,000 out of pocket. I hate having to take bites with the side of my mouth, but the veneer does look good. I just wish she would have been transparent and clear with me about what she was going to do and what my expectations should be. I paid all that money to have to bite sideways and I can no longer eat apples without cutting them first. I wouldn’t recommend her for anything more than preventative cleaning and checkups. Next time she finds something she can “fix,” I’ll get a second opinion.

Experiencia negativa: Dr Bracken removed me from being her patient, (3 months ago this happened) because one day before my appointment she demanded me that I needed to have $4,000 to pay at front, to have 5 crowns down in a session, otherwise she will not see me, I said I'll check I'll handle that amount of money available, I asked if it could be in two sessions, and she send me a message that she was removing me from being her patient because I could not pay all the $4,000 in that day, she did not want me t re-schedule to another date, I was removed from being her patient. And, I'm glad!! I'll never go to her dental office, and I DO NOT recommend anybody to go to that business in Columbus Indiana . Columbus Family Dental Center.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible service, billing is not upfront, I had to call insurance company, to sort out payments, sent bills, that I did not owe. I had to cancel appointment, they are going to charge $65.00 , I had to cancel for personal reasons. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM, added a charge after I informed them, I would not be using their disservice.

Experiencia negativa: The dental work was fine. The communication and billing is absolutely awful. We were sent a bill saying we owed money after we had already paid a significant amount of money(in addition to what insurance paid). In reality, we are overpaid and are entitled to a significant amount of money back. That in itself is an easy enough mistake which I wouldn’t hold against them if they were attentive otherwise. To get the bill sorted: I had to call multiple times and leave messages because the right person was not there. I never once got called back and had to keep calling until the right person was there. They ultimately said they’d send me a check for what I overpaid. It’s still another 3-4 months later and I have no check. I called again to see what’s going on and of course, the person who handles these matters is not in the office. I had to leave another message and I assume I will have to keep calling back until I get ahold of the right person. This is completely unprofessional and will probably be the last time we use this dentist.

Experiencia negativa: After a terrible experience in the office here, I decided to take my family back to our dentist in Indy. Of the $802 I had paid ahead on a treatment plan, we are being refunded less than $200. I have a daughter with ASD and they are clueless as to how to manage patients with special needs. They really made out like bandits for two cleanings, imaging that wasn't needed, and absolutely no actual work done. Avoid this place. You can save your canned response about being patient and someone from your office looking into this.

Experiencia negativa: The cleaning was good. They send a confirmation text to me one week ahead of the appointment. No reminders at all after that. I forgot about the appointment which is my bad. They called and rescheduled my appointment without mentioning the no show fee at all. Only after I got my service today, the front desk lady asked for $65 fee for not showing up on the prior appointment. Disappointed.

Experiencia positiva: As a single mom, without insurance for a few years, I had focused on my kids and not my teeth. I was nervous going into a dentist, but I found they were so nice and welcoming. They didn't judge, they understood and answered all my questions. They worked with me on a treatment plan I was comfortable with and so far I have been so pleased I have referred family to them. Can't say I'm looking forward to some of the procedures, who really likes dental work, but I feel in good hands.....well I did, until I had to cancel an appointment because I was sick, turned out to be COVID and I proceeded to get a letter two weeks later telling me that I needed to find another dentist since I didn't seem to have trust in them anymore since I missed an appointment. Excuse me? I called and let you know I was sick, I'm sure you would have been mad if I had came to the office and passed it around to everyone, but to drop me as a patient for that. When I mentioned it at work, it turned out to be a very common theme among the people I talked to.

The cleaning was free but I had to pay over $300 out of pocket. I wouldn't have done the x-ray if I had known. Some people like me live month to month and $300 is a terrible blow to our monthly income.

He listens and gets your input on how to make you even better. A lot of my health issues are going away because of my doctor. My out of control diabetes is now well controlled because of him and he's diligence of finding ways to drop my sugar levels.

Experiencia negativa: This place doesn’t have a good workflow process and it shows. I was a new patient, scheduled my appointment online and they called my sibling who was also going to be a new patient on the same day to verify the appointment and they disclosed my appointment time to her and other details which is technically a HIPPA issue. They told me since we were “family” that they typically just do it that way…We are family members but that doesn’t mean I want her knowing when my appointments are. Second issue was I took them my insurance cards and they didn’t take one of my insurance’s but I had no way of knowing that since they called my sibling asking about her insurance but they never called me, so my primary insurance is what they used. I ended up not having the right card on hand to verify insurance (I was unaware I had multiple cards or I would have brought the right card duh) but they didn’t know that until I was halfway through my exam. They wanted to start talking about charging me $315 for the exam and I was upset. They don’t verify insurances before they get people in the chair and start their process. That’s a red flag. I won’t be returning.

So, from there, I was a nervous wreck, thinking this was just my luck. I actually like her, so this next dentist will probably freak me out! No, she sent me to the right spot. I have never felt so comfortable in a dentist's office as with these two! I can’t Thank you enough, and I will be back for a future dentist appointment! Experiencia negativa: First thing, Dr.Bracken is less patience with patients. Patients are humans not robots. Staffs are good. Second thing, they are good in scheduling future appointments for cleaning but very poor in preventive maintenance and also too poor diagnosing serious gum decease which is very obvious and treating it first rather than just scheduling future cleaning visits. I was going here for past 4 years. Not going here any more, just to do cleaning cleaning for namesake and to burn annual dental cap from insurance.

Really? Unexceptable and that makes you all look bad. Please get your front office workers up to date.

She knew I needed this procedure bad and she helped save my tooth. Her team? Exceptional! You can tell they love their job and I know why. Experiencia negativa: this office is focused primarily on procedures like crowns, implants...no efforts spent on educating patient on preventive maintenance. Recently,I visited another dentist for 2nd opinion for implant procedure recommended by this office since 3 years for my existing crown and new dentist emphasized on using water flosser with mouthwash clean the tooth and gum area, to extend the life of the tooth without having to go with implant right now. I see significant improvement on the crown tooth and hopefully, I can maintain this for long run. I expect these suggestions coming from this dentist, with whom I have been patient for more than 10 years, what is the use of paying dental visits every 4 months with no valuable recommendations? no customer value delivered. I wish I was able to switch new dentist 3 years ago and avoid mental pressure and emotions...thanks to my new dentist.

Experiencia negativa: The worst dentist I’ve ever met. Dr Bracken was too rough on me. Refuse to write down what she said (I’m deaf) but the nurse there was so sweet and she had to apologize for the Dr’s behavior. I would not go back ever again.
