Experiencia fantástica: I have great experience at Salem Dental Associates. I have very problematic teeth. At first I thought Dr. Nguyen is very strict and I was scared to come back for my next appointment, but when I got through with my dental procedure, I realized she did the best for me. My teeth are so much better now. I’m so glad that I found this place, I’m taking my kids and husband there now. I’m so grateful to you guys. Thank you Dr. Nguyen and everyone who works there!

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot recommend this practice enough, especially if you have severe dental anxiety or need extensive work. I came in with severe dental problems and a massive amount of fear, but from day one, Dr. Nguyen was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. Because of the scale of my treatment, she dedicated the time to book me 1–2 times a week for about 3months to get everything done. She walked me through every single option, helping me make the best choices for my health without e making me feel pressured. On top of her incredible bedside manner, she is honest and cost-effective. Other dentists had quoted me between $16,000 and $18,000 for the same work, but she was able to complete my entire restoration for less than $8,000. She truly saved me so much money while completely transforming my smile and my comfort. If you are terrified of the dentist but need help, this is the place to go. Ive attached my before and after pictures for everyone to appreciate the quality of work. This has been a life changing experience and I couldn't be happier. 10/10

But this team went above and beyond—they took the time to thoroughly assess everything, explain my options, and actually help me. They were also incredibly fast and thorough, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The work they did was excellent. I felt it was handled with care, and real attention to detail. I felt comfortable the entire time, and you can tell they truly care about their patients and the quality of their work. If you’ve ever been told something can’t be done or felt overlooked by another provider, I highly recommend coming here. They really made a difference for me! Had I known it was possible to correct those cavities, I would’ve came here before my wedding day. A+

Experiencia negativa: I am disputing the cancellation fee on my account. I made a good-faith effort to cancel within the 48-hour window by calling your office and sending an email. Your office was closed over the weekend, calls were not answered, and I was not informed that there were multiple email addresses for cancellations. This means I was not provided a clear or reasonable way to cancel my appointment within the required timeframe. I do not agree to this charge and will not be paying it. Please confirm in writing that this fee has been removed from my account. If necessary, I am prepared to dispute this charge further.

Experiencia negativa: SCAM SCAM SCAM! They billing double for one service! They told me I gotta pay out of pocket for a cleaning when I have Medicaid !!. But also told me Medicaid had to approve it !! MEDICAID FRAUD HERE

Experiencia negativa: Wouldn't see me, a medicaid recipient, over $4. Legally they can't say no to a medicaid recipient, so I will be contacting an attorney about this. I am in a great deal of pain and am not in the mood to play. They also said no to a service animal coming in. Their reply? We're sorry your in pain, but you're poor, so get bent. I am definitely contacting an attorney over the service dog and Medicaid issue!

I had fillings done previously with the dentist I left(Dr.Yen) had to fix all of them I've been once a week for about 4 visits now.My mouth is almost done.. My previous dentist office was horrible with timing.Id wait in waiting room for 30ish mins the. Wait in the chair for a while. NOT here im in and out with 2 fillings,and xrays within 40 mins.. So thats a huge plus for me. I will stay with Dr.Yens office forever now. Also the front desk ladies,and all the dental assistants are all sweet,friendly,and very knowledgeable.. So happy I found this place!!!

Experiencia negativa: Don’t go here the doctor lies! You give them the decency to cancel within 24 hours and then they tell you they want 48 when you have never been there and you need to reschedule. They do not give policies up front but expect you to follow them. That’s crazy. Definitely won’t be going here dealing with these crazy people.

I have a lot of work that needs to be done from years of homelessness but they have never judged me once and have made the expierence of all the work I need done so much more approachable. A wonderful team of people who know exactly what they're doing. And Dr. Yen is a magician with big scary needles, I hardly ever feel them.

Experiencia negativa: Came here and had a good experience and was quickly in and out, then I go to the counter to get checked out and setup an appointment for the future, was told no appointments were available for an entire year, that is fine with me, but then was told I cannot schedule an appointment a year out, they then said they'd call me when one comes available (never got a call back) I guess they simply didn't want my kind at their office and tried to give me the run around. Here's your 1 star.

They worked extremely hard together and are very dedicated to their work. Kathrine was so nice over the phone scheduled me fast and easy all together it was an amazing experience. Experiencia fantástica: I learned about Dr. Yen’s dental assistant program while being a patient and was very interested. The program is only 8 weeks and packed with a lot of information so be prepared to learn something new every day. The best aspect of the program is being able to assist on real patients instead of mannequins because you get hands-on experience early on (other programs don't offer this). You learn how to take X-rays, set up trays, take notes, sterilize instruments, and more. The staff is nice and will answer all your questions so you can understand, but they don’t baby you. Dr. Yen is a little tough but it's only because she wants you to succeed and stand out from other assistants.

Experiencia negativa: I had the worst experience at this dentist office to the point where i completely walked out. Dr.Nguyen became upset with me because i asked her not to be so rough. Apparently she was insulted by it because Instead of making sure i was comfortable as the patient she responds by telling me "if I think she's rough i could go elsewhere" in which i found to be very rude and unprofessional, therefore i left. All of the staff were always very nice and professional except Dr.Nguyen. She's very rude, and rushes through the dental procedures to the point where she's being rough and aggressive. Only cares about getting the procedure done and doesn't care if the patient is comfortable or not. Definitely will not be back, and would not recommend especially if going to the dentist is already scary enough like it is for me.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid if possible.Papers inside the office saying you’re entered in a raffle if you leave a 5 star review. No thanks. My family member was a patient here, until they left a negative review and had their appointment cancelled with no explanation. So be careful leaving an honest review, they will just drop you as a patient.

Experiencia fantástica: I come from a large family (8 siblings in house) and my parents made us go to the dentist but times was hard so we moved around due to finances. I been on my own since 18 so finding a dentist that’s actually for you and your well being was difficult. All they wanted to do was 50/11 X-rays and cleaning running insurance up and then you on your own out of pocket for anything major. What’s the saying … “if it’s not bothering you don’t bother it” but enough is enough I need my teeth so ima go to the measures to get them right properly. I found Dr. Yen Nguyen on my own but the address looked so familiar. I set my appointment and the front office staff is so superior. They found me in the system from when I was younger like you’ve been here before. I’m like it seemed familiar but I’m not sure and behold it was definitely me. I said get me in asap I broke my tooth and no I wasn’t in pain but I was freaking out lol. They got me in with no problems and when I tell you they just knew I was going to be in pain afterwards and I felt absolutely nothing . Followed her instructions properly and was good to go. Went back to get a good cleaning, they said my gums would be irritated and discomfort. Felt nothing . I love my food and I could eat with no problems. Any work done has been miraculous. You know some Drs don’t say two words to you only their staff but I can truly say with Dr Yen I’m so comfortable and satisfied with her and her support of getting my smile A1. I have severe anxiety. My first appointment my blood pressure was up and the tech asked was I nervous? I’m like idk but since then my blood pressure has been normal and I know it’s because I was in good hands. I highly recommend this office. You won’t be disappointed and don’t be afraid to ask questions because they will educate you for sure. Thank you so much Dr. Yen and staff, yall are amazing!!

Experiencia negativa: I have been going here for many years, and as I've gotten older, I have realized that this place isn't the best. I will go for a cleaning and get told that I am doing a great job and to keep it up, but then 6 months later, I will have a small cavity and be ridiculed for it. I got a cleaning with zero cavities and was told how good my teeth are with my new braces. Of course, I kept up the same cleaning regime, but 6 months later, I had a "massive" cavity and was told I wasn't doing a good job. This cavity was missed during the prior cleaning. I brought this point up and was dismissed by the doctor. During that specific filling, Dr Nguyen got up, and I was left with dental equipment in my mouth for 10+ minutes. It also didn't help that I felt like I could hardly breathe. The hygienists are great people but seem very undertrained in some aspects. The main lobby has the doctor's chili contest trophies, which is nice. But looks rather unprofessional. This is a dentist's office, not a restaurant. It also seems the reviews here are boosted because, in every single room, there is a paper saying, "If you give a positive review, you will be entered in a raffle." This is very strange and unprofessional. If you have no other options, it's okay, but if you can spare the drive and or money. Do not go here!

Santana was my nurse that prepped me and got me all taken care of she made me feel so welcomed and at home ! She was very helpful and very refreshing to talk to and she also helped me relax too next thing ik she’s taking xrays and boom im informed that their going to pull it ! U can imagine how ecstatic I was. Dr Nguyen is a ABSOLUTE GEM ! She was so nice and patient with me and she was professional and very knowledgeable about what she was doing ! Will I trust this team again ?ABSOLUTELY !!!!! can’t wait to see them again and get the rest of this work done I’m sure I’m in good hands.

Experiencia positiva: I usually get good service here, and the workers are kind and professional, but today my mother called to check when my next appointment is going to be. A lady answered and my mother spoke in Spanish the worker then said “No Spanish”, so I took the phone and spoke in English. The lady then hung up without saying one word; they must know this could affect their business and that it wasn't good customer service.

Experiencia negativa: Shamed my friend for being abused as a child an not having access to stable dental care and when told that the infection she was being treated for hadn't gone away staunchly refused to believe her and refused to further treat the infection. You can find much kinder dental care for you and your family.

Experiencia fantástica: Have already had 3 appointments with them and had a great experience at each one. After my teeth cleaning, and getting some much needed advice on how to keep my gums happy, I have not experienced any gum pain. Flossing really makes a difference! Just recently had a tooth extracted too. I have deep roots, so the process was a little more complicated than a simple extraction and still there was no pain. They even called to check in on me a few hours later. Already scheduled for a filling and another cleaning in a few months. Definitely the best experience I’ve had at any dentist. The entire staff is so welcoming and friendly. They really take care of you.

Taylor (a student) helped her and overall I was in and out in less than a hour. The extraction part lasted not even a full 3 minutes, with the longest part being waiting for my numbing. Experiencia negativa: I called to cancel my appointment for today because I am not feeling well. I was told that I could only cancel if I bring in a drs note for being sick. I was also told that if I cancel I could never be a patient again. I asked if they prefer for me to come in sick and take a chance for the rest of the office to catch what I have. The front desk answer was ok, so I am going to the dentist, sick, not feeling well and if it get this office sick and not feeling well, it was their decision. I will never, ever be back but I am going to this appointment just to prove a point. You can also read the low star reviews and with the responses the dentist is defensive, rude and unprofessional. The response to some of the reviews are jaw-dropping.

Experiencia fantástica: I have to say this was/ is the best dental experience I have had. The staff is unbelievably friend and very professional. Dr. Yen really knows her suff as I witnessed on many occasions that she is a teaching dentist. Not only is she patient with her new recruits but very patient with me. You see, I am very afraid of needles...almost like a panic attack comes over me, well, after the first visit I realized how much she does care. Every time I had to be numbed, it was over with before my brain could even think of what was happening. That alone is a big deal. I recieved a crown from her and I feel like after several years of not smiling, she gave me not only my smile back , but now I feel like my ol self again. All in all, a wo derful experience. And did I mention she is one of Winston-Salem 's best chili makers. She has won awards for that too. Talk about a woman that can do anything!! Experiencia fantástica: I had a broken tooth that became stuck and infected, Dr. Yen numbed me COMPLETELY, even when she stuck me with the needle to numb me I didn’t even feel the pinch of the needle just the pressure, I was super comfortable and felt nothing, no pain at all, again just a lot of pressure but no pain or discomfort. She got the infected tooth out no exaggeration in 3 mins or less with minimal bleeding or trauma. My appointment was at 12:30- I was taken back by 12:45- X-rays done by 1 pm, numbed by 1:15- and out the door by 1:30. She was awesome

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Nguyen is the best dentist I've ever been to! Very professional far superior to any other dentist I've ever associated with, extremely focused , clean , friendly, fast,and precise ! She took me in on an Emergency extraction and pulled those teeth without and issues I am amazed with her performance she came in and withing minutes was done it wouldve been seconds but she thought i was in pain and took time too give me more numbing agent she is my recommendation when it comes to dental work! I highly recommend her !

Experiencia negativa: Staff at facility are nice patient ladies. Dr. Yang is quite the opposite! She far from friendly and inviting. As far as her work. It’s rushed, unprofessional, lacks attention to detail and EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE! No follow up care plans (education/pamplets), not even a baggie with the typical toothbrush floss etc. you can tell when someone is passionate about their work. That’s not the case here. The office is also not up to par. Building is old water stained ceilings. The bathroom doesn’t even have a toilet paper or paper towel holder.the picture include is Dr. Yeng’s office. That says enough It’s a mess to say the least! And an alias doesn’t have anything to do with your lack of bedside manner and condition of that facility .

Experiencia fantástica: I have been coming here ever since I was 5 years old. Every time I went to get work done I knew I would be in good hands. All my experiences have been positive and the staff are very nice people.

Experiencia negativa: Only leaving 2 stars because the staff was nice and thorough. The wait time was INSANE. Arrived 4 minutes late to my 10:30 appointment. Water for an hour to be brought back for X-rays. Waited another 30 minutes for the doctor. Waited another 45 mins for everything else. It’s now almost 1 o clock. And I’ve been here since 10:30.

Experiencia fantástica: They were very quick with my appointment, was in waiting lobby for less than 5 minutes. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming as well.

Experiencia negativa: I was a patient here from my first appointment it never really worked out I came in due to wanting to see if I had cavities on my back molars but instead Dr.Yen was focused on my wisdom teeth which I stated that I didn’t want them pulled but she wanted to go back and forth about them after she already stated the problem in professional terms there was no need to continue further after I declined. just never heard of getting your wisdom teeth pulled in a general dentist office so it made me uncomfortable. I went back after a few months to check for cavities this time I was told I have about 16 or 17 cavities and then she tried to belittle me by bringing all of her dental assistant students in WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and start asking several times do you even floss ? if you do show me …so I showed her how I do floss and she then started to use the metal tool to push down on one of the cavities . I was upset after leaving but I never returned because Dr.Yen is quite unprofessional and the attitude she has towards patients is unacceptable. I received a letter with her dismissing me from the office which was fine because I NEVERRRR EVER PLANNED ON RETURNING. Thank god I never even gave her the chance to work on my teeth I was just so desperate to find a dentist office but please take the time to find someone who suits you and your beliefs. I highly recommend Friendly Dental of Winston Salem. Thankfully I have found a new dentist Dr.Khan at Friendly dental of Winston Salem. By the way I only had 5 cavities and I was able to get them fixed within 2 days. I was lied to by Dr.yen Saying I had 16 or 17 cavities how unbelievable. My new dentist told me don’t ever go back there trust me I won’t if I could give zero stars I would.

Experiencia fantástica: This morning at the dentist was an awesome experience, so awesome to the point of happy tears. I chipped my front tooth that took away my smile. Dr. Yen gave it back to me, she is professional with great bedside manner. Additionally, she is great at what she does. Thanks again for the wonderful service from check in to check out. I recommend this dentist.
