Experiencia negativa: I am 74 years old. The doctor told me to raise my hand if I needed him to stop for a brief break. I had to raise my hand SIX TIMES!!! Further, twice while he was drilling I started gagging from excess water. The drainage equipment, if you could call it that, was about the dimension of a Sharpie Pen with a hole of 1/8” to suction the water and saliva. Clearly insufficient. Despite having many procedures for root canals, crowns etc., I have NEVER had to raise my hand more than three times in total in my lifetime . EVER. I have to say this was the ABSOLUTE WORST dental experience I have ever had in my life! You wanted a review and now you have it.

My dad was also billed for the cleaning and paid out of pocket… to later find out the dental office had also billed the insurance and his visit was covered. They double charged.

Experiencia negativa: FYI do not use Smile Shop in Fallbrook! They billed me as out of network (I’m not) numerous times and they owe me over $1200. I have requested it monthly since January and it’s always under review and in process. Today I was told they would re submit and it could be another 4-6 weeks. They said they have so many claims I need to be patient. ITS BEEN 5 months! Oh and they billed for services which they never gave so I’ll be contacting my insurance so they can see the medical billing fraud. Take your mouth and money elsewhere! PS: DR Call you were the best! Too bad the company sucked

If the Smile Shoppe had a soul, that soul would’ve been Dr. Call. Sadly, Dr. Call is suddenly gone. Now we get the canned response that Dr. Call has decided to “pursue other opportunities” however, that doesn’t pass the common sense test. As for those brilliant advisors at the Smile Shoppe who decided to part ways with Dr. Call, I strongly recommend you fire them, get on the phone, text or email Dr. Call and promptly beg him to come home where his patients, and staff desperately need him. Do what is right and you won’t have to hide behind deception.

Experiencia negativa: My wife and I have been going to A Smile Shoppe for nearly ten years. Dr. Sorge was there then he sold his practice to Dr. Call. Both were great as well as Elaine our hygienist. We felt like family My latest appointment was on April 17th for a teeth cleaning. At first I was surprised that Elaine did’nt meet me for my cleaning. A new face appeared and just said Elaine is no longer there. We proceeded along with six x rays which surprised me because I had numerous x rays upon my last visit Cleaning was very moderate without much effort. Next came the real shocker Another new face appears. Dr. Call also was no longer there Who knows who this new guy was Upon asking about not knowing anout the staff changes, they all began telling me that all patients were notified by email which I said I never received “Well, we did send the emails out” When my “exam” was finished. I proceeded to the front desk to pay since they are out of network so I pay first and my insurance reimburses me. The cost I was quoted was $575.00 I almost fell down…. For a cleaning? I then asked the Office Manager when I can expect my last insurance reimbursement from a crown replaced on March 6th I was shown a stack of backlogged invoices and was told that I was near the bottom of the pile but they are working on it I once again relayed my disappointment of not being notified of the change of the entire practice Again, the answer was that “we sent you an email” I restated that I never got one. “We sent it !” Asking what email they had on file, clerk searched and said that I didnt have an email on file so thats why you never received our email, but we did send them, sorry you did ‘nt get one. As I opened the door to leave I stopped and turned to the desk staff along with the Office Manager and replied “Did you ever think about calling me? A ten year patient deserves better” I dont think I’ll ever see my $1500.00 reimbusement since they received the check from the insurance that was supposed to go to me I would warn others looking for dental work to stay as far away from this group as possibe Their website isnt even correct Dr. Call is not the dentist

Experiencia positiva: My visit with your dentist office was a little different than what I expected. I knew when I walked in things that changed and the other doctor had left. The office felt not ready to be in a business. I know it’s hard when everything is new, but patient should come First. My experience was that I thought the Doctor Who cleaned my teeth did not do a good job. Another person came in and did the flossing and polishing of my teeth. My feeling was that Nobody was acting very professional. I should have been told that my hygienist Abigail, who always cleans my teeth was no longer with the service. I asked for a pillow to support my neck and a toothbrush, and no one knew where they were. I will try again in three months to get my teeth cleaned again. Thank you.

Experiencia positiva: Dear owners, The office staff has changed, and no one made any mention of it to me, a client of 3 years. Dr Call is the best, but he is no longer there. The other Dr is fine. He was nice, gentle and attentive. This visit was for my daughter. The hygienist was amazing. Very friendly, professional and did a great job communicating. It's just weird that no one told the clients that the office staff has pretty much completely changed. The new ladies are very nice. However, if you know Dr Call, you know what I mean. He brings the office to LIFE!!!! Definitely miss his energy in the building. Disappointed to have our Dr change and not be told. Dr Call is the reason we kept going there. Also when my appointment was cancelled in February, I have not received any communication back from the office to reschedule. So something very strange happened, balls got dropped and no one was there to catch it. It's weird that no one acknowledged the elephant in the room. Hello, where is Dr Call and the rest of the amazing staff?!?!? Owners, Your clients deserve to know that they are not going to have the same staff or doctor on their next visit as they have had in the past. We have been loyal to your office for years. I expect better communication from a Dr or dentist office. I feel slided, honestly. Holes were plugged, but too many balls fell through- not sure you'll be able to catch them all by not being transparent to your clients. Maybe you think the nice smiling faces at the front will fix the issue. But that's mean to your front line employees. They are the ones face to face with customers and have to explain what they can. That isn't their job. But speaks volumes of the upper management and owners. All you had to do was send out a letter to your clients to keep them in the loop. It's really not hard to keep your customers connected. Customers will go elsewhere when they don't feel connected.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been coming to this dental office for years and was always happy with the care I received. However, today was a huge disappointment. I came in for a routine teeth cleaning, only to find out that the staff I’ve known and trusted for years is no longer there. I decided to give the new team a chance, but I honestly regret it. The dentist who was supposed to perform my cleaning only scaled one tooth—and in the process managed to spray water all over my face. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and frankly, shocking. After that, he handed me off to the assistant to finish polish my teeth. This is not the level of care or service I’ve come to expect from this office. It felt rushed, careless, and completely unlike the quality I experienced in the past. I’m extremely disappointed and will be reconsidering whether I return.

Experiencia negativa: We have been going to Smile Shop for the past 14 years. I went in this morning and noticed a different vibe. All the previous personnel were let go, including Doctor Call. Awful experience now. The x-rays were rough. The cleaning did not seem thorough and the polishing was a bad experience. It seemed like it was his first time doing it. He was all over the place with the speed of the buffing tool. I disliked the new people so much and the service was so bad that I felt sick to my stomach. I even canceled all of my families appointments. The worst part of all is that we didn’t get a notification that their staff has changed .They just lost 7 customers. We DO NOT recommend going to this location at all. Something is badly wrong and we miss the old, friendly staff that always treated us like family.

One of the employees said they couldn’t say anything. It was very uncomfortable experience at the office today, and I do not feel like this will go over very well for our small community. Experiencia negativa: * Dr. Call forgot to take my dental Xrays last year. After the hygienist cleaned my teeth she took Xrays- to discover I needed a deep cleaning. I paid for the routine cleaning/xrays -$250. The deep cleaning was going to take 2 appointments & cost $1,264. My problem shown by the xrays could have been worse-because I had a smaller problem the year before that turned into a bigger problem- since xrays were not taken? I didn't feel like I was taken care of properly as a patient. I also think that Dr. Call did not take responsibility for their mistake. I will be looking for a new dentist!

Experiencia negativa: The problen with this office that they only do what they suits them I called tree time for appointment for a normal cleaning and they always told me they will callme back and never recived an answer if yuo don’t what they wand never hep you, also I feel that they take advantage of both the insuranse and the patient by telling you that everything will be covered by the insuranse and once you complete the threatment they stared sending you additional charges to you telling you the opposite that your insuranse don’t cover everithing.I never recomend this place.

Experiencia negativa: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this dental office. I first visited in October 2024 after a filling fell out and needed a quick fix. At the time, I had United Health Care Dental, which covered 50% of major procedures like crowns. In December 2024, I was quoted an out-of-pocket cost of $599.90 for a crown on my cracked molar. That seemed high to me, so I decided to wait. Since then, my employer switched insurance providers to MetLife Dental, which also covers 50% of major procedures. However, when I received a new quote today, my out-of-pocket cost had skyrocketed to $1,044.80! Even without being an expert in health benefits, simple math tells me that 50% coverage should not result in such a drastic increase. For that cost to be accurate, the full procedure price would have to be $2,089.60, which is significantly higher than before. I understand that prices can change, but a 57% increase in just one month is outrageous. This kind of inconsistency is frustrating, especially for patients who genuinely need dental work. Transparency in pricing is critical, and this experience has left me feeling misled and undervalued as a patient.

I’ve had this procedure many times before and it has always been painful and uncomfortable. He was the opposite. Not only his skill, but also his focus on my patient experience, were exceptional.

Experiencia fantástica: A little over a year ago we switched dentists because of some pretty flagrant problems. We had been with the previous dentist for over 30 years. He retired and the new younger dentist took over. It was nothing but sales sales sales. He wanted to sell us invisiline and then I needed work because of something. However I had to cancel that appointment and never had the “needed” work done, but never heard another comment from him. 3 visits later I asked hygienist about the fact I had never had the work performed. She could find no record of it in their records. Hence we switched to the Smile Shoppe and have been very very pleased with their protocol and their professional ethics. Dr. Call is the greatest!! Cannot say enough good about his practice. Kind of wish we had switched right away when our original dentist retired, rather than put up with all of their shenanigans for three years with his replacement. Love love love Dr. Call.

He prescribed medication to relieve my discomfort and I was able to get through the weekend until I could get in to the office for a consultation.
