Experiencia fantástica: My experience was good. I waited 10 minutes to be called in, but my Hygienist, Suzanne, was great. She was attentive, friendly, thorough and caring. I was also seen by one of their Dentist who confirmed everything she had already told me. I recommend the Groton Dental Group!

Experiencia negativa: Very rude staff. Attitudes on the phone, and then hung up on me. I had to reschedule my appointment 8 hours prior and they charged me $100 without notifying me. Last 3 times I have gone here, its been nothing but rude doctors, rude receptionists, and feeling like the work is not correct. I get mixed answers from different doctors as well. I will be changing locations.

She was patient.. she answered every question I had. I am so happy that I finally found a dentist that I’m happy to go to.

They were exceptional — incredibly helpful and patient while sorting out my insurance issues. The rest of the visit was solid and slightly above average, but the front desk is what really impressed me.

Experiencia fantástica: Groton Dental is very easy to deal with. They actually have a live person answer the phone when you call, no robots or links. My hygienist, LeeAnn, is always very pleasant and a joy, and she always does an excellent job. Would recommend Groton Dental to anyone.

Experiencia positiva: First I must say I have been afraid of dentists from a very young age. As an adult I have to take medication just to get there. The entire staff is friendly and kind. Dr Ipe will go out of her way to make you comfortable and she takes time to explain what will happen. She is a kind person. The technician was also very sweet and patient.

Experiencia fantástica: Not sure if anyone can say they love the dentist- but I love going to my hygienists and dentist at Groton Dental Group. They are timely and try to schedule you according to your schedule (sometimes that means you have to wait a bit longer). Adding to previous post: I would like to mention that I am high anxiety and my dentist and her team are always overly accommodating. She always tells me each thing she is going to do before she does it to put me at the most ease as possible. She asks if I'm okay and asks if I need a break many times throughout the procedure. I also know that if at anytime I need her to stop for any reason or if I am in pain all I have to do is raise my left hand. I have new insurance and this practice is not "In-network", but I fear trying to find anyone else. Think I'm quite happy here while I reside in CT. Thank you Dr. Iype and Team- Your All the Absolute BEST!

In one year of using the water pik, my teeth are significantly cleaner and my gums are healthier. She is the only person in my whole life of 68 years to recommend I use a water pix. Her knowledge and recommendation has made a huge difference in my dental health!

Experiencia negativa: Illegal practices. 42North Dental admitted to withholding patient records because of past due balances. This is illegal per HIPAA. I even asked when asking for records if this was legal and they said it was. I have already filed a complaint with the OCR and HHS. You know what you're doing is wrong, yet you still do it. I sincerely hope you are investigated and hit with fines as this is, once again, ILLEGAL. I've also informed the patient whose records you've refused to send to also report you. CURRENT AND PAST PATIENTS: If this office has refused to send your records because of a balance, REPORT to Office for Civil Rights and US Department of Health & Human Services.

Experiencia negativa: My husband and I had gone to this office for years and saw Dr Flanagan. He was amazing! After the practice was sold we stayed with them until retiring and moving to Georgia. Now trying to get records is a nightmare. Rude receptionists on the phone, hang ups when "being transferred", no response to fax requests from current provider. My husband has hardware for his dentures and I have implant hardware. All we are asking for is the kind/make of the hardware so we don't have to pay to have it removed and totally new hardware inplanted, at a substantially higher cost. If you move from this practice, make sure to get your records if you're going to need them in the future before you go. 3 weeks later and I still cannot get dental records sent. I'm told that the records are "paper records" yet they cannot be faxed or emailed. Groton Dental keeps telling me they have called and spoke with someone down here. No one has heard from them. Have been trying since September to get the part numbers to the current DDS. Waiting with unfinished dental work.

Experiencia fantástica: I changed dental practices this year dye to changes in my insurance, and I am very happy to say that my experience at Groton Dental has been extremely positive. Elle and Dr. Yungaitis and front end staff were very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Groton Dental if you are looking for a kind and professional dental practice.

Experiencia negativa: This is a review of the Groton office, not the Williamantic office. I started bringing my daughter to this practice several years ago on the recommendation of my dentist, because my daughter is autistic and I was struggling to find a practice that was skilled and compassionate enough to work with neurodivergent children. The practice was founded by a mother who had an autistic son and experienced the same struggles with finding care. The level of care was amazing, and the hygienist we were scheduled with, Erika, was patient and kind. The office is about an hour away from my home, but I happily made that drive because I finally found a place that was actually making great strides in my daughter's dental care. The owner of the practice sold her business a couple of years ago, however, and since then there has been a very significant drop in the level of care, compassion, and understanding. The new owner is all business and doesn't seem to possess any knowledge of or experience with individuals on the spectrum nor any desire to work with them. We were even advised at our last appointment to seek services elsewhere. We were fortunate to retain the same hygienist, Erika, when the business changed hands. She has never wavered in her level of care, compassion, and desire to help. Her enthusiastic personality seems to have been stifled by the new office management, however. This review would have been one star if not for Erika. She is a really great hygienist. I hope she can find a practice that enables her to let her skills and compassion shine, because the Groton branch of the Groton Dental Group is not that place.

Groton Dental Group's customers know about this and are going to Michael Flanagan's office in Mystic instead. Michael Flanagan's office is the one with the banner next door. They had seven calls from Groton Dental customers this am. It's a scam!

And most importantly he checks my teeth thoroughly and does a great job cleaning them. At almost 50 I’ve still learned quite a bit about oral hygiene from him and highly recommend him and Groton Dental.

Experiencia negativa: Truly awful on every single level. All but one of my appointments were rescheduled on the day of due to lack of staff. Some were rescheduled multiple times and it wasn’t known until I showed up in person. At my very last appointment I had a dental hygienist who was so bad that she was brushing my chin at one point and getting toothpaste and water all over my face. A dentist never saw me on that visit even though it is standard after a cleaning. They then repeatedly billed me for services from a year and a half prior to me leaving them and were conveniently would not answer or return my calls so I had to go in person multiple times to be repeatedly told that they billed my insurance when my insurance insisted they were not billed. After many times of not billing my insurance but claiming to, they finally did and then they submitted a claim to my insurance past the deadline of when my insurance would accept it but my insurance was luckily nice enough to just pay it even though it was past the deadline. Needless to say everything having to do with them was always such a huge nightmare. If you’re looking for a place, try Coastal Connecticut Dentistry. I started going there a couple years ago and it is easily a billion times better - no complaints! They are perfect.

Experiencia positiva: I have been visiting this dental office for couple of years now, I can say that it's an old office but been maintaining well. The only concern I have is that the doctor here is very busy and only looks at you if there is a concern. In a way it is good but on the other hand every patient who schedule an appointment for cleaning and oral evaluation should be consulted by the doctor to know if everything is actually good or not.

Experiencia negativa: I called Groton Dental a few months back trying to schedule a cleaning. I had just moved to the area, and wanted to go to a dentist near me – this one was very close to where I lived, so I thought it would be a good choice. The woman who answered the phone genuinely acted like I was insane for calling about a cleaning. At first she simply wouldn’t let me schedule an appointment without even offering an explanation, then after trying to get her to explain (I thought maybe they weren't accepting new patients?) she finally said they would only schedule a cleaning if I had my previous dentist send my dental records to them. What in the world? You’d think that (like every other place) you could make an appointment and THEN forward your records. Not only that, but you would think it wouldn’t be crazy to call a dentist asking for a routine cleaning. I ended up hanging up without scheduling a cleaning. However, a few months later, I had to call them to go in for a cracked tooth. The woman I spoke to on the phone that time was wonderful, and managed to get me in same-day to have my tooth x-rayed. My experience this time was great, so I told my husband he ought to call them to have a crown done (as we’ve been waiting to find a new dentist to take care of it). When he called, he first spoke to the kind woman I mentioned, and she told him that they would have to schedule a consultation before making an appointment for the crown & that he’d want to check with our insurance to make sure they were in-network for dental before they set up the consultation. He confirmed with our insurance that Groton Dental was in-network, and then called back to set up the consultation. This time, he got the first woman I spoke to on the phone, who more-or-less accused him of lying about having dental insurance through his spouse’s work, and did not believe that he had spoken to someone on the phone who said he could set up a consultation to get crown work done, because apparently it “didn’t work like that.” What in the world is wrong with this place? They need to do some serious training for whoever this is at the reception desk! Until that happens, I absolutely would not recommend. My husband and I have both had to hang up in the middle of our conversations trying to schedule dental work with this place because this particular woman is rude, aggressive, and genuinely seems like she doesn’t want Groton dental to get any new patients. If perhaps you’re not taking new patients, just say so. No need to accuse people of lying, and acting like they’re crazy for calling a dentist to get dental work done. Just unbelievable. I'm not someone who typically reviews businesses, but these interactions were so unpleasant that I felt a review was necessary to warn others.

They then realized schedule could allow a permanent instead of a temp could be done. Face no longer numb and chilling watching TV with my wife. Tooth is great.

Experiencia negativa: Most of the staff , and Dr. Scott , are lovely. However, high staff turnover seems to be affecting everything from knowing how to operate the 3-D X-ray to providing the correct treatment plan to the correct patient. There is frequently a rushed , chaotic feel to my appointments, and the times/dates of appointments routinely changed. Despite regular X-rays, my bone loss was not detected for at least 2 years, and now I’m paying for $9,000 of possibly unnecessary work. Again, the techs, hygienist ,new receptionist, and docs are very pleasant, but I have little confidence in the attentiveness of my dentist, and once my implant is finished, I will find a new practice

Experiencia negativa: Front desk staff doesn't care! I waited 7 months for a Saturday appointment and they call and say they have to reschedule. Next available Saturday is 6 months away and they don't care at all! How are you going to make me wait 6 months for a Saturday after I already waited 7 months? If anything happens to my teeth in the meantime it's 100% their fault.

Experiencia positiva: I could rate this a 5 if they ran on time. I am a very punctual person and respect the time of those I have an appointment with (and for those that come after me). I set 8am appts so I can be first and seen on time but that never seems to happen. Today I was 8am, arrived at 7:50am, first appointment and not seen until 8:10am. For one mouthguard fitting, they were 40 minutes late. I respect their time; I would like if they respected ours in turn. However, I have always had a good experience with the dentists themselves. I miss the hygienist Carolyn (retired) and have not yet had one I like as much.

Experiencia negativa: The lady that checked me in and out this past Saturday shouldn’t be allowed to deal with patients. She doesn’t know how to be personable, doesn’t smile, almost coming across as rude. Overall service and quality also has declined. The “deep cleaning” that they do now is how my regular cleaning went for the earlier years that i have been going there Nd Caroline was my hygienist. It actually even felt that she did a better job with her “regular cleaning” than the deep cleaning that i have received lately. And then they charge you even more for it.

Experiencia fantástica: A thourough inspection of EVERYTHING dental, including gums etc was done today by my Dentist Dr. Iype. This was done along with an OUTSTANDING cleaning. Leeann was extraordinary as my hygienist. A natural humorist , good person and gifted pain free professional. My BiAnnual preventative maintenance Today was actually beyond measure- the easiest and BEST ever‼️

Experiencia fantástica: Been going here for about 4 years since I started working in the area. At one point, one hygienist told me I had signs of gingivitis, but the doctor came after and said I didn’t (spoiler: I did not have gingivitis). The hygienist also recommended that I buy a certain electric toothbrush brand that she got a commission for. Needless to say, she doesn’t work there anymore lol, but I do actually still use the electric toothbrush and my teeth do look better. So I guess pros and cons? Either way, I moved a town over but still go here just because I like them so much.

Experiencia fantástica: Timely, courteous and professional the whole "Groton Dental group" deserves five stars! Suzanne is my hygienist and does an excellent job while being very pleasant. Flossing was near impossible for me and plaque was a major problem. Suzanne suggested a WaterPik and the result is a very much easier cleaning. No more near pulling me out of the chair to clean my teeth! Thank you so much!

Experiencia fantástica: Wife had a cracked tooth, and was checked by the doctor at Groton dental group there. She received a nice warm service. My wife has some language barrier in speaking English, but Groton dental group has the doctor assistants who could speak mandarin that helps a lot in communication. Doctor Ipe explained the damaged tooth situation to us with a detail information and planning. We were pretty happy with the service there.

But the Hygienist that worked on my teeth, I believe her name is Suzanne, did an excellent job on some problematic teeth. Dr Iype did the exam and she was as always very thorough in her explanations and very gentle and caring in her manner. A FIVE STAR VISIT!!
