Experiencia negativa: Almost a nightmare. Yesterday, I was told that my implant was ready, only to find out that I had been misled. Then, I was told they could get me in today, only to keep me there from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On top of that, they messed up my medications. There was no apology and no accountability. I understand that you are short-staffed, but this is absolutely ridiculous. The lack of communication, organization, and accountability throughout this process has been extremely frustrating.

Experiencia negativa: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Sage Dental in Cumming, GA, with DMD Khyati Shahpatel and DMD William Zinney During a routine cleaning, I was advised to have a crown placed over an existing filling as a preventive measure. At the time, the tooth was not causing any pain, sensitivity, or other problems. Trusting the dentist's professional recommendation, I agreed to proceed with the treatment. Unfortunately, after the crown was placed, I began experiencing significant pain and sensitivity to hot and cold foods, as well as discomfort when chewing. These symptoms did not exist before the procedure. I returned to the office to have the issue evaluated. During the follow-up visit, Dr. Shahpatel noted abnormalities around the crown that had not been present before treatment and referred me to another dentist in the same office, Dr. William Zinney, for a second opinion. What I found frustrating was after that the dentist office already collected $1,000 for the crown procedure, I was informed that Dr. Zinney would charge an additional $88 simply to evaluate the crown and determine the cause of the pain. I felt it was unreasonable to be asked to pay an additional fee to assess a problem that arose following the original treatment. I was told that either I or the referring dentist would need to pay the fee before the evaluation could proceed. When I asked the original dentist would she cover the cost of the referral evaluation, and she stated no. As a patient, I expected the office to stand behind its work and help resolve a problem that developed after treatment. Instead, I was told that further evaluation would require additional payment. Because I was unable to get the issue addressed without incurring more costs, I ultimately sought care elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Sage Dental or the two dentists involved in my care.

Experiencia negativa: My son went in for a cleaning. Thats it a cleaning! They gave him all kinds of x rays (even though he's a regular) , a floride treatement and a Dr.'s check up. $309.00. National average is $150.00 to $200.00

Experiencia negativa: Dr. Shah Patel is knowledgeable and skilled, but unfortunately she appears to be consistently overbooked, which seems to affect the quality of care and the time spent with patients. I had a crown placed and have already returned at least four times for adjustments and corrections. Despite these visits, I am still waiting for the crown to be properly adjusted. I believe that if more time had been spent ensuring the correct fit during the initial appointment, these repeated visits could have been avoided. While I appreciate her expertise, the rushed appointments and ongoing issues with the crown have made the overall experience frustrating.

Experiencia negativa: Reception and follow ups are terrible. Orthodontist don't put all info in the chart. They want you to come over and over for exams because dentist forgot to put something in tge chart. Its ridiculous. I was told today to come back since ortho forgot to put the duration braces will be needed. They don't value patients time.

If you are so busy that you can't treat your current customers well may be re look at yiur business before taking new patients. Staff at reception never returns calls. They never help with copay options and information. If you make it too hard to understand copay and booking appointments people will go elsewhere

Experiencia negativa: I have been going there for 2 years now. I went for orthodontist exam for my daughter and I sat there for 30 mins after the exam to know what it would cost me. After spending 30 minutes there they said they will call me back regarding cost and next steps. I never got that call I called them 5 times after that and they kept saying they will call back. Still NO CALL. It should not take 5 calls to book next orthodontist appointment and understand payment. I will be taking my business elsewhere

I came to her after not having avery good experience at another dentist and she restored my confidence and made my situation 100% better. I will never go to another dentist besides Dr Shahpatel! Experiencia negativa: My morning My morning started with me waiting in front of Sage Dental for almost 2 hours before they opened, just to see if I could get an emergency appointment for a toothache so bad I almost called the paramedics. I was unable to be seen at this location, because they only did Ortho on Mondays. Sage Dental’s appointment center connected me with the the Cumming Office on Buford Road. Once, I saw Dr. Khyati Shahpatel casually walk into the exam room and ask me, " Have you ever gotten a root canal? This question was in reference to me being seen in December at the Suwanee location for a slight touch. I was prescribed Penicillin and given a referral to see an Endodontist for possible 3 teeth. I did not follow up with an Endodontist because the antibiotics took away the pain. Also, I did not know which tooth the initial pain came from. Which tooth would I get root-canaled if I were going to get it done one at a time? Well, when Dr. Khyati Shahpatel walked into the exam area, she told the dental tech to stop x-raying me, as I had been seen in December. I thought that was odd. Dr. Khyati Shahpatel then partially scolded me for not following up and getting a root canal in December. She stayed stuck on that, and couldn't care less that I was in barbaric pain. Dr. Khyati Shahpatel also refused to DO ANYTHING to help me feel more comfortable after I literally begged her. She said, I will write you another prescription for antibiotics and give you some pain meds, and you will need to schedule an appointment with an endodontist. I am in disbelief at this point. I say, can you please do anything for me now? She says she could not; she is not an endodontist. I asked her whether she could shoot some numbing medicine into my tooth. I told her I was in so much pain that I was scared to drive and even leave the office. When they brought me back, I was lying across 3 chairs in the waiting room. She still refused to help me. Repeated again, that I should have followed up with the endodontic test in December. She drove that point home. It felt vengeful, punitive, “ I told you so.”Dr. Khyati Shahpatel had a dental assistant give me a Q-tip filled with a numbing agent. I took it, kept it in my mouth for at least 10 minutes. It did nothing. It was a slap in the face. This Dr truly did not care ABOUT ME, my PAIN, my ordeal, or how she treated me. I have NEVER been treated like this by a dentist. I have never left a dental office for care and left with the same issue I came in for After Dr. Khyati Shahpatel refused to help me with this dental crisis, I went to the front and spoke with the office manager. I asked the office manager if she could ask the other dentist, who was an oral surgeon on duty, if he could please temporarily numb me or shoot some meds into my gums. Well, Dr. Resnik agreed to see me, and guess what? He helped me (see the 5-star review I left for him and the other staff). And guess what else Dr. Resnik gave me: a short-acting and a long-acting shot of a numbing agent to provide me with some temporary relief. While Dr. Resnik was looking at my records, guess what he was looking at? Yep, an X-ray more recent than December. To bring this nightmare to a close. I called the Sage appointment desk back and asked them to search the entire Metro Atlanta Area for an Endodontist who could see me today. Miraculously, the Carrollton Office agreed to see me. Guess what Dr. Park said early on? I don’t see a recent X-ray (meaning he was expecting to see one from the Cumming office). Guess what Dr. Park found when he compared the 2 xrays? Tooth #12, which was x-rayed in December, has gotten significantly worse since then. But guess what? Dr. Khyati Shahpatel would not know that because she refused to x-ray me. She stopped the X-ray process midstream with her assistant. Dr. Park and his team were compassionate and performed my root canal successfully. However, avoid Dr. Khyati Shahpatel at all costs. Her refusal to provide care was harmful, and the situation could have ended badly if other Sage Dental staff hadn't intervened

The Office Manager, Sharreatta Patillo, treated me with immense compassion and professionalism; she truly went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of quickly. Additionally, Kristen at the front desk was incredibly warm, kind, and attentive to every detail. I am so grateful for their support during a stressful time. I also want to give a big shout out to Dr Resnick. Very warm, down to earth kind and caring. This is a good dentist and a good man. I wanted to extend a thank you to his dental assistant Kim who also came across very warm friendly and compassionate cuz I was in an immense amount of pain

Experiencia negativa: Had a visit in October 2023 and now is December 2025 and they sent me a bill for that visit saying I owe additional money? Two years later? And when I tried calling this office number it said it can’t be completed, so it seems they changed their number or disconnected it. I even called the Sage Dental corporate office and even they couldn’t get a hold of them at this office. Corporate said they left a voicemail to tell them to give me a call back about the charge they’re giving me two years later. And they still haven’t reached out. Feels like a money grab. Possibly they aren’t profitable anymore and are coming up with bogus charges. Especially seems scummy since they also discounted their lines and won’t even answer corporate calls. What’s worse is that they aren’t even nice and it was super rushed. If I could give less than one star I would. Do not go here. You never know what B.S. they will pull a couple years down the line when it comes to your billing.

Experiencia negativa: They are running slaughter houses. I went there just for dental cleaning. JUST FOR CLEANING. The first person I talked to at reception area, told me that I have to have my teeth checkup first in order to get cleaning done. She said one can’t be done without another. I made a huge mistake by saying ‘ok’, as she said it’s fully insurance covered. Then, I went into one of their cage like tiny room which was dirty and old, not a hygienically maintained of course. They performed full mouth x-ray (which is totally unnecessary ‘again’ if you just want to clean your teeth). And then there came a scary consultation period, where it seemed like my whole jaw line and all of the face structure need to be replaced, theoretically speaking. They gave me $2800 out of pocket cost estimation - worth of job to be done before they go ahead and actually do the cleaning part. I came out with dizzy head (cause the dental office was so chaotic) and couple of papers without CLEANING I wanted to have. I have found no difference between them and car dealers. Both are there to get money (either it’s from you or your insurance).

I went in for a basic checkup, cleaning, and referrals for a tooth extraction, but the entire experience was terrible from start to finish. Before I even met Dr. Khyati Shahpatel, the staff started pushing the most expensive treatments that were not covered by my insurance. It felt like they cared more about sales than about my actual dental needs. When Dr. Shahpatel finally came in, she did not seem interested in the problems I came to discuss. Instead, she continued pressuring me to consider treatments that I did not need. I felt completely dismissed. The dental hygienist made the situation worse. She had a heavy accent, and when I politely asked her to repeat something because I could not understand, she became rude and started mumbling. She did not explain her findings or address my concerns in a professional way. The environment itself was chaotic and uncomfortable. There was no privacy at all. I could clearly hear other patients talking to their dentists because there were no curtains or barriers. The whole place was extremely loud and felt disorganized. Overall, this was one of the worst dental visits I have experienced. The entire atmosphere felt unprofessional and stressful. I felt like I had just escaped from a slaughterhouse rather than a dental clinic. I will not be returning.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible, these are used car salesmen not dentists. My normal dentist will take maybe 4 x rays of my teeth. Sage took 18 X-rays, much more than I normally get, and it was sloppily done. My usual dentist always takes their time with x-rays. The ones I got from sage are all blurry. I was just trying to use my insurance, but it wasn’t worth it. I didn’t even get a cleaning, they made me make another appointment, and gave me a massively expensive treatment plan trying to upsell me on everything. I almost never leave a review, but healthcare companies that operate like this are a real problem.

Experiencia negativa: I scheduled my appointment well in advance, but when I arrived, I was simply told the doctor was not there. There was no prior call, message, or notice about the cancellation. It was very disappointing and a waste of my time. I expected better communication and professionalism from a dental office.

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone was extremely nice and did not rush me, and did a very thorough job. They also with the work took the time to sit down and explain things to me. I think the office is very good. *I wanted to update my last review. I'm now undergoing some major work on my teeth, and, I've had nothing but wonderful service from everyone there. When I call worried about something, they'll talk to me until I really understand what's going on, or, they will let me come right in and they'll check it out and explain it there. I have had no negative experiences with this office, and I'm happy with the work.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience, I came in for tooth pain all they did was take X-rays and told me I would have to wait 2 weeks to see endodontist for setting up root canal, I waited two weeks for her to look at it for 1 minute and then sent in the billing person in to tell me the root canal and crown would cost about $4000 for one tooth with insurance. She also told me that I still had an infection and when I requested more antibiotics was told I don’t need them, after I decided to not have the expensive procedure done.

Experiencia negativa: Do not come here. My family has had nothing but bad experiences here, unfortunately my wife and I HAD to come here since it’s within network. For our consultation, we took 8 steps into the front door, the girl with the northern accent immediately gave us a bill for $467 dollars and said we were required to sign. My wife asked what the bill was for since she hasn’t even had anything done yet. The desk girl said that it was a bill that would cover any basic things that the doctor would recommend doing after the consultation and included the copay. My wife was confused and called me up to the desk. I asked what sense does the bill make and to double check if our insurance was good there. She then responded to me “how am I supposed to know if you have insurance or not?” I responded, “um, because nobody has asked if we have insurance??” She rolled her eyes and stormed away to her computer. She comes back with a $36 bill for our copay, so I guess if we hadn’t have asked, we would have just paid $467. The consultation went fine. 3 weeks later we came back for my wife’s tooth extraction. Just to preface, my wife has been scared to death of this appointment as she hates the dentist in general. After about 30 minutes of nitrous, the doctor comes in to give a numbing shot. 10 minutes later, doctor comes back and starts to dig in my wife’s mouth, she’s wriggling in the chair and saying to stop because that’s hurting. The doctor gives her another numbing shot. 10 minutes later, she starts to proceed again, my wife is just moving her legs slightly as I’m sure the pressure feels weird. The doctor stops, rolls her eyes, looks at her technician and says to my wife in an annoyed tone, “you really shouldn’t be feeling any of this. You should feel pressure, that’s normal, but you shouldn’t be feeling pain.” My wife tells her I can’t help it, it kind of hurts. Doctor gives her a third numbing shot and walks away. My wife is tearing up in the chair and becoming scared again. As I’m holding her hand and trying to calm her, the doctor comes to me after a few minutes and says, “I don’t know if I can do this.” I’m extremely confused and now very concerned. I asked her, “so, do you not feel confident in what you’re doing?” She just kind of stares at me and says with a lot of attitude, “I’m just going to go get the oral surgeon”. My wife overheard the doctor say she can’t do it which is causing her to panic more. The doctor comes back and tells me “look, this is either going to be really simple, or really complicated, but if she can’t relax, then she’s just going to have to be completely sedated for an oral surgeon”. I told her, “if she’s says she’s numb enough, she’s not numb enough, I don’t think she’d be lying just to get more numbing shots in her mouth, why would anyone enjoy that?” Again, just a blank stare, and she storms off again. After a few more minutes, she comes back in, grabs her tools and gets to work again without saying anything to anyone. It seems like the process went to plan, so I guess she “can do it”. After the tooth was pulled, she just left, didn’t saying anything else, didn’t see her again. We were sent home with no care instructions, and had to ask for the antibiotic prescription. Within the next two days, my wife had questions for her doctor as she had concerns of her blood clot not forming, etc. and of course, no one picks up the phone and no one ever called back. We are never coming back here. All of the service from the front desk, to the people pulling teeth in the back, are absolutely disgusting human beings. No empathy, no compassion, no help.

The doctor Shah Patel's assistant was rude, unprofessional, and completely unhelpful. NO WONDER SO MANY BAD REVIEWS!! When I tried to ask questions, they brushed me off and made me feel like I was bothering them. The prices here are also ridiculously high, but the real issue was the attitude of the staff. If the doctor's assistant can't even be bothered to be friendly and competent, how can I trust the care I'm receiving? Definitely won't be back.!! I shared my experience with my Friends and community across Atlanta and to my SURPRISE MANY of them had same experience because of the assistant and they NEVER WENT BACK!

Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience. Wait times are too long, doctor walks around on her phone. My appointment was at 8 am, didn't see the root canal doctor until 8:50, for a consultation that cost me $126. She came in for 2 mins, looked at the tooth, said "yup, it needs a root canal", continued to put something cold on it (which hurt), walked out and then was on her phone. There was no sense of urgency, it also seems like they want your money first and then treat you with dignity. Horrible experience!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm 76 years old and have gone to probably a dozen different dentists in my lifetime. I was directed to Sage Cumming by my insurance plan and very happily surprised. Everyone was cheerful, efficient, and went out of their way to help me navigate the insurance jungle. Dr.Shahpatel clearly pointed out the several problems I have and gave me options to reduce the overall costs.No pressure to extend the program to cover more minor items and no judgemental response to my lack of previous checkups. I recommend them highly.

Experiencia fantástica: I couldn’t be happier with my experience! I’ve always avoided going to the dentist due to bad experiences, fear and the costs. I had a full mouth of teeth extractions with the immediate dentures done. The process was absolutely amazing and everything was thoroughly explained to me. I was amazed after the procedure because it was over with fast and I had no pain at all after the numbness subsided which shocked me! My teeth look better than I expected and I couldn’t be happier! Anyone out there that’s needing this procedure I highly recommend D.M.D Khyati Shahpatel and her assistant Hoda at the Cumming Ga. Sage dental!!!! Plus all the staff up front. They were all great and stayed in constant communication throughout the process. Don’t have any fear because they really do care and it really was easy to go through. Experiencia negativa: No matter what time you call. They don’t answer the phone. I just had a root canal and have serious concerns about swelling and bleeding. Called this office 920am and c they never gave me a call back. Only the voice mail everyone I call. This is unacceptable. Poor customer service. I do not recommend this office at all. If I could give negative stars that’s exactly what they would get. It’s Friday and I have to go through the weekend wondering why am I bleeding because this office don’t want to do their job and answer the phone. Or return phone calls all day long.

Experiencia negativa: Went here for a semi-annual cleaning and first they were going to REQUIRE that I pay for services in excess of what my insurance covered to even be seen and then informed me that my visit didn't include a cleaning. In what world do I need to come to the dentist twice for a basic cleaning. I have never gone to a dentist and been told that I will need to come back a second time for a basic service. Exam + cleaning...pretty basic stuff here.

Experiencia negativa: Closed every other Friday. Came back on Monday per new scheduled appointment. Can’t be seen yet because their front desk needs a power strip and had to go to Walmart. No patients can begin until the front desk gets the power strip. Everyone is just waiting on power strip…

Experiencia negativa: While the employees overall were nice, I cannot recommend this dentist office to others as I don't feel they prioritize patient care but rather focus on maximizing their profits. When I checked in, I was told it would be $40 for x-rays, which are covered 100% once per year by my plan. After questioning this, it was clarified that the charge was for a panoramic x-ray and a 3D scan, which could be optional. During the checkup, I was informed that I required a 'deep cleaning' which would cost over $500. Over 10 years ago, I had a similar diagnosis from another dentist office, which I disagreed with. Over the years, several dentists have told me that this is a way for some dental chains to make additional money. I requested the basic bi-annual cleaning covered by my insurance, but was told they would not perform it since they deemed I needed the deep cleaning. After deciding not to use their services, I was informed they would waive the $10 office visit fee required by insurance. However, upon reviewing my plan and contacting Aetna, I found that my copay for office visits is $0, suggesting another add-on by the chain. My wife reminded me that three years ago, when we moved to Cumming, she also visited this office and was told she had two cavities. She immediately changed dentists and hasn't been diagnosed with any cavities since, much less the two they identified during her consult.

Experiencia fantástica: Sage Dental is absolutely amazing. They helped get my son an immediate appointment and took care of him so wonderfully. The staff in Cumming as well as Dr Null were kind, caring, helpful and we are so thankful for their service. We will definitely recommend and use them for any dental needs in the future!

Experiencia negativa: In early 2022 Dr. Shapatel placed a bridge in my mouth for which I paid over $7,000 out of my pocket. Later that year during a teeth cleaning I first noticed a weird feeling around this bridge as if it was not completely firm in my mouth. I mentioned this to Dr. Shapatel at the time. She took an X-ray and said that there was nothing wrong with the bridge. Fast forward to last year when I moved and also started to see a different dentist. It was confirmed to me by that other dentist at the end of last years that in fact this bridge was not firm in my mouth. I had not been imagining this. I therefore went back to see Dr. Shapatel to ask if there was anything she is willing to do about that loose bridge today (January 2025) . She clearly saw that the bridge was wiggling, but she said that she does not have any record of me mentioning earlier that I had the feeling that the bridge was not perfectly seated firmly. And of course does not have records of doublechecking with an X-ray. She would of course place a new bridge at *my* expense, If I desired that. In other words she did not admit that she may not have properly seated the bridge in the first place and does not warrant her work after “such long time” (which is barely 3 years). She said that it is most surely my fault. And I expected that bridge to last a long time - like 10 or 20 years otherwise I would not have considered spending the $7,000, which is really a lot of money for me. That said, I am very disappointed in the quality of her work. If she does not expect to last that bridge any longer than these mere 3 years, I wonder if it she had *my* best interest in mind when recommending this solution. Unrelated to the bridge she made an other recommendation for a different issue earlier, which clearly told me that she could not have *my* best interest in mind, which involved a very expensive solution (one implant) that did not make any sense considering an overall solution for my mouth in which the implant would not have been helpful in any way because lesser expensive solutions would have been just as good. No, I cannot recommend this dentist. Look for someone else if you want a dentist that has *your* best interest in mind.

Experiencia negativa: I had a frustrating experience with Sage Dental. First, I was made to wait an unreasonably long time over the phone and then routed to an automated line that promised a response within 24 to 48 hours. I expected much better from a dental office.

Experiencia negativa: Just went up and took time off of work for the 2nd time in a 30 day period. To be told that I didn’t have any appointment. The first time I came The website sent me a reminder and I scheduled, I also got a confirmation text. Then I go to the office to be told that the system messed up and I didn’t have an appointment. So I made an in person appointment and got there today was told they would check me in. Waited 30 min for a lady whose appointment was 20 min after mine to get called back. So I if they checked me to have them re-ask my name and be told I didn’t have an appointment! They wanted to reschedule me just for xrays and then have me come back for another appointment for cleaning! This was not my first time there mind you. I came in May 2023 was pregnant they didn’t do xrays only a cleaning. Scheduled me to come back after I had the baby. On that appointment they called me day of to cancel. This office and maybe Sage as a whole needs to get their processes in order! This was absolutely unacceptable!

Experiencia negativa: I went to one of the offices then was referred to the other for a root canal. Went today then had to pay another consultation fee left numb and after that wore off hurt more than when I went into the office. Then I still have to go back to the other office for a crown.

Experiencia fantástica: I started coming here in 2017 and brought my kids and recommended it to people because I've always had good experiences. Today I went in because my front teeth had chipped badly and a bridge had fallen out. Everyone was wonderful. The one lady had to make my front teeth by hand because my teeth are very small. She did a gorgeous job and, for the first time in my life, I don't have a gap. It looks fantastic and I'm looking forward to when the permanent ones come in. I can't recommend this practice enough!
