Experiencia positiva: I moved several years ago from Colorado where I had the same dentist for over 20 years! When I came here I was in need of a dentist. I found Upper Merion Dental and was a bit surprised by how chaotic the office appeared. They serve adults and kids. They divide the waiting rooms so at least you don't have to sit next to screaming kids. The front desk staff is a hit and miss as to how friendly they are. The dentists and hygienists are all very nice, once you get past the front desk. I would recommend them, but you need to get passed the craziness!

Experiencia fantástica: My experience here was great. My son was in agonizing pain Monday night so first thing Tuesday morning. I called to get an appointment and they got me in the same day and realized under one of his caps he had an infection and the other cap was loose so they ended up pulling both teeth in about 10 minutes. He was completely fine when we got home. The doctor explained everything to me prior and directed me towards a resolution which was to pull the teeth. I travel 45 minutes to come here because everyone is always so amazing with my son who has a lot of dental issues.

However, my experience with Lynn was disappointing. Her tone and lack of engagement during the call made it clear she did not want to assist. A little empathy and professionalism would have gone a long way. I hope the office works on improving customer service.

Recently we even got accommodation for taking a 3rd child in for a cleaning while she had appointment scheduled in a month, but sort of was on a waiting list. We are customers now for 15 years. We had never had any cancellations or requests to reschedule due to absence of a doctor or a technician.

Experiencia negativa: Front office staff person was rude, not knowledgeable and gave me a hard time about completing a school required dental form. They act as though you are bothering them, don't look you in the eye and dont use common courtesy. They don't seem to want to be there so I can choose among a dozen other dental offices that want my business.

Experiencia negativa: I went to this dentist, my entire childhood and pretty much every time I would come for an appointment I would have “cavities”, even though I took extremely good care of my teeth. I felt as though I was being lied to but I was a child who didn’t have much of a voice in this situation and now because I was given fillings for teeth that didn’t need them I now have significant pains and a lot of inconveniences when it comes to my teeth. Having read the comments of other customers who are still to this day experiencing what I experienced, it truly disgust me that people come into a field to prey on people and it’s children that they are specifically preying on too. Typically I don’t leave reviews because I feel that sometimes my experience is not the same as others, but seeing that they continue to scam people made me feel as though I need to speak up. I suggest that if you go here, you should always get a second opinion on what they tell you.

Experiencia negativa: My 3yo came in for a visit, the dentist opened her mouth and then told me, “she has cavities. We’re sending her to the surgery center where they’ll cover them with caps.” This was all said without getting X-rays… they told me she was too upset to do the X-rays in office, and that they would only do them under general anesthesia. They also told me that if other issues were apparent, they would take care of them while she’s anesthetized and NOT update me DURING the procedure. This all felt very abrasive to me, so I decided to get a 2nd opinion. We went through CHOP (UPenn pediatric dentistry) and at the visit, not only did they give her X-rays while she was awake (which she did perfectly fine with) and told me she had NO cavities. They were appalled to hear about this practices urgency to put her under and do unnecessary work. We will be leaving this practice as I do not trust their judgment.

Experiencia negativa: The dentist here told us my two year old had two cavities & needed crowns for her teeth. We went to get two other opinion from other dentists & they said she had 0 cavities. I am very disappointed in this office. I myself had been coming here as a child. But I will never come back after this. If ever in doubt parents please get a second opinion.

My daughter has anxiety over the dentist and Nichole is able to keep her calm and get her through it. We would highly recommend the whole office.

Experiencia negativa: I have been a patient at Upper Merion since I was a teenager and have continued to go with my husband and young children. In recent years, the experience has become difficult. It is impossible to schedule a timely appointment for simple cleanings or larger procedures like crowns. In March 2025, I scheduled a cleaning appointment for July 2025. This morning, they left me a voicemail cancelling it and rescheduled it for a day I am out of town. I called to reschedule for another day and the receptionist said the next availability is January 2026. I asked her to cancel it, she said "sorry about that" and hung up on me. I will not be returning.

Experiencia negativa: This was in 2017 or so. Enough of a terrible experience to come back and leave an honest review. I came in for a cleaning. I felt pain in an area and made a whining noise to express the pain. The lady kept cleaning. It hurt so bad I had to tilt my head while I mumbled pain. The lady without missing a beat, smacks my head and yells at me for complaining too much as she is not even working in that area of my mouth. Shocked, I just stayed quiet. Less than a minute from that, my gum started to bleed profusely. The area where I felt pain as she was working. She had to stop and have me spit and rinse my mouth out twice because of all the blood. Terrible experience and rude to hit my head. This is another visit: I went in before a holiday. I was suppose to see the doctor after my cleaning to see about dental work (missing tooth) but the doctor left early, after numbing my gums. Did not get to see the doctor about dental work, so the technician booked me in for another appointment to see the doctor. When I showed up to that appointment, it was booked for something else, and the doctor was confused and made the comments of "why I even booked another cleaning after having one done so recently." The place was clean and spacious. I dont recommend this place.

Experiencia negativa: I have 3 children who started going here. I don’t recall having any issue with the dental staff but when you can’t even get an appt. There then that becomes irrelevant. My kids would have an appt. & I wanted to schedule the next one in 6 months. I was told I was never able to do that because the system didn’t go out that far & I would receive a post card as a reminder. This has never happened. Therefore since I wasn’t able to schedule an appt. I put a reminder in my phone to call around the 6 mo. Mark. When I did that , they couldn’t fit me in until Sept. ( this was probably April or May I called). We are changing dentists bc it doesn’t seem they have the capacity to accommodate all the patients they’re taking on. I have left a Message asking how to obtain my children’s records; no call back. We called again; we were told it would be emailed to us; this also did not happen. Therefore you may have a good experience with the dental staff IF you can ever get in…..

She took X-rays and cleaned my teeth. Dr. Skip checked my teeth after the cleaning and all is well. I made another appointment for 6 months.

Experiencia fantástica: I am a long time patient of Dr. Skip Hoerz at Upper Merion Dental Associates. Maggie is my Dental Hygienist. I go 3 times a year, and each experience is positive. Maggie is terrific at her job, and she is always pleasant, polite, and professional. Dr. Hoerz is knowledgeable, and also always a pleasure to deal with. Their entire operation is first class at UMDA. They are a large business, but they never make you feel like a number. This recent visit was due to my breaking off a piece of a rear molar. I got a quick appointment for examination and a plan forward. A young woman named Erin examined me, and did outstanding work in creating a temporary bonding to the remaining tooth. I still cannot feel the difference between what Erin did, and what my old tooth felt like. Remarkable. She was polite, courteous, and an expert at her craft. I go in for a crown tomorrow, and I have no doubt that I will receive the topflight service and attention that I always receive there. In my vast life experiences, good business service begins at the top. It's not easy to manage large operations, but Dr. Jay Goldsleger, DDS has maintained a high standard of excellence for a long time.

Experiencia negativa: My experience only talking about this rude dentist “ Scott D Goldsleger “was absolutely awful. From the start, the dentist was rude and condescending. He was forcing me to do surgery to treat my son’s cavities even that he knows that he has respiratory issues,and another dentist last October told me that she can’t treat him since he has health issues, that made me to be confused , instead of explaining things calmly, and be attentive to what parents wants , he raised his voice at me and yelled during the conversation. At one point, he even sarcastically asked, “Are you a dentist?” as if I had no right to take decisions about my own son. He’s very arrogant, he think he’s the best dentist,He was very disrespectful,and he is looking only for making money than providing and a quality care , This dentist clearly prioritizes profits over patients ,I don’t recommend this dentist to anyone who values professionalism, genuine care ,kindness, or respect.this message is for him “ you’re the worst , rude dentist , and even I’m not a dentist I’m an engineer, I’m very clever than you think , you won’t use me to line up your pockets ”

I have been attempting for months to get my son an appointment and they never have anything available. I will definitely be looking for a new dentist for me and my son.Very disappointed.

Experiencia negativa: They charged $400 just for non iv sedation for my 3 year old daughters tooth fillings even though insurance mentioned it to be $159 as negotiated fee.They took the cost Entire procedure cost beforehand without giving any breakdown. Now they won’t refund any money. The entire procedure lasted hardly 20 mins. Beware of non covered expenses as they told they can charge any amount.

Experiencia positiva: I've been going to this practice for over 25 years. Dr. Rush is amazing. It is frustrating to get an appointment for a cleaning. They book 4 months out and if you have to change appointment then the clock starts again. Call in January and first appointment is in May. If you make a change then the next appointment is August. Unfortunately, it is just really difficult to get an appointment.

Experiencia negativa: This only can be the last time I take my 3 year-old child to see pediatric dentist here. The male dentist is incredibly rude since, while brushing my child's teeth, he tugged on his mouth so forcefully that my child displayed signs of pain. We both experienced disrespect. This experience would become worse at night. Because of the scares my poor one experienced during the day, he cried multiple times during that night. How horrible the dentist is!!!

He and the entire office staff have been very attentive and quick to respond when I have called with urgent issues and when having pain. I feel seen and heard coming to this practice. The one time that there was not an urgent available appointment to see me in office, the front desk staff was thorough and accommodating, and the medical staff and clinicians were caring and communicative.

Experiencia negativa: We have been going here since my son first appointment and he is now 14. Yesterday was our last day going to KOP office. I was present I spoke with nurse and doctor while there. To get a phone call from an employee accusing my son of inappropriately texting her back and cursing at her via text. I instantly knew this was a lie because I know my son. To have a woman go back and forth with me to find out she called my old number. To then still not be accountable and say well we have many numbers. How about your office delete old number when the parent updates the new number because you cold me to accuse my son of cursing at you via text. My son is a black young man in America I will not have anyone start accusing him at this age or something he didn’t do. I called and asked to speak to her boss who I didn’t get a call back yet and y’all have until EOB to call me before I make a scene. You don’t get to accuse someone kid of things like this and be wrong with no accountability. Your staff was wrong on every level and we will no longer be going to KOP office after years of being there. There needs to be a training on phone etiquette and how you don’t accuse someone of anything like that until having some facts to back It up. You got two stars because we did receive great care but see how someone approach and falsely accusing someone turned the entire visit around. Other than that yall should get a zero! I am mad!

Experiencia fantástica: i never wait more than a few minutes for the tech to come out for my kids appt. its easy to get an appt for date and time that works for our familys schedule. every part of the staff is very helpful and pleasant which makes for a much pleasant visit for littles that already have anxiety about the D word (dentist). they offer kids "prizes" and rewards after their visits which helps kids correlate good things about going to the dentist. i highly highly recommend this office for both regular dental care & orthodontic treatment for many different reasons

Experiencia negativa: Admin department for pediatric dental can use a lot of improvement. One last example is that when we called the clinic to transfer the X-ray record to a new dentist clinic, the front desk told us to type up an email for request. We did and then no transfer happened. Then after contacting them for several times they eventually said in phone that we need to sign a form ( why not mention this in the first place?). Even after we delivered the form There is still additional lack-of-response and delay.

These two people long to make what is often a dreaded fear turned into a pleasurable experience . All because they want that for their patients. The front desk is always filled with gals who are both welcoming n kind. It’s not always feasible to get in promptly but if you are in pain you are a priority, as well it should be. Best Dental care facility in the King of Prussia area.
