Experiencia negativa: ⭐ 1/5 I paid $229.80 out of pocket for a dental service for my son that was never performed. I requested a refund and was initially told 1–3 months, then six months, followed by more delays and excuses. Nearly a year later, I received only $25.45 back and have still not received a clear explanation or itemized breakdown showing what happened to the rest of my money. This office has now been reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and the Board of Registration in Dentistry. If my remaining refund is not returned, I am also prepared to pursue the matter in small claims court. After nearly a year of chasing a refund for a service my child never received, I have lost all trust in this practice. I have canceled my children’s future appointments and will be taking them elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: I went here for the first time with my 5 year old a week ago and had an ok experience. My first impression was that the waiting area was dingy and lacking kid stuff for a pediatric dentist. There's a TV playing cartoons, 1 computer screen around the corner with games, but no toys/books. I then brought my toddler today and after sitting in the dentist chair for 10+ mins wondering what was going on, the front desk person came in and said my son didn't have insurance. I was confused as I handed over a card at check-in and had no issue with my daughter the week prior (we're all on the same insurance with the same subscriber number), so that didn't make any sense to me. The interaction was confrontational and unhelpful, all while sitting in the dentist chair with my toddler on my lap. When I asked what I'm supposed to do, since it appeared by the tone and body language of the woman talking to me that I was being kicked out, it was suggested that I call the insurance company and sort it out, which obviously wasn't going to be possible in that moment. The other option given was to pay out of pocket and sort it out later. If I hadn't already seen the food particles from a prior patient all over the glasses, and if I wasn't confronted while in the dentist chair, I probably would've figured something out. I did end up calling the insurance company when I got home and they verified all 3 of my kids are accurately listed on my plan with the correct DOB's. It appears that there was no attempt to call the insurance company by the front desk since this call took less than 2 mins. I also find it interesting that there were 3 instances of confirming the appointment, but no attempts to confirm the insurance prior. I've cancelled all appointments, and this place has lost all 3 of my kids as patients.

Experiencia negativa: My experience with this dental clinic was extremely disappointing. During my daughter’s first visit, I was told she would only need one silver crown. To my surprise, they ended up removing several of her teeth and placing multiple silver crowns due to what they said were cavities. This was never clearly explained to me beforehand, and I left the appointment feeling shocked and very concerned. At her follow-up appointment, the experience was even worse. I arrived just one minute past the grace period, and the dentist had already left. What was most upsetting was that no one called to ask if I was on my way or to let me know the dentist was leaving. I sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes before the receptionist finally told me that the dentist had already gone home. This level of communication and patient care is completely unacceptable. I felt that my daughter’s care and our time meant nothing to this clinic. I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for transparency, respect, and compassionate care.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff and environment were warm, welcoming and friendly. If your child is scared or hesitant to go to the dentist, you should try scheduling an appointment here. All the other dentists we have tried told us sedation was the only way to clean my son’s teeth. They staff goes above and beyond to make children feel comfortable and safe. This was our third appointment and the hygienist was able to scrape the plaque off my son’s teeth as he willingly laid in the chair …this is the first time he has allowed anyone to do this. It was a huge success in our book! Thank you so much!!

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter has now had 2 appointments at SmileLand which both went great. She’s very young so it can be challenging, but with the help of the very friendly staff, today’s appointment was a breeze. I was not expecting it to go so well. There was also no wait, and we saw the doctor right away once we were called back. We were in and out in very quickly, which is amazing for any dentist’s office but especially when you have a toddler going. I’m glad we picked SmileLand!

I love this place and all the people in the office. They were warm, welcoming, explained everything and answered every question I had. It is a very clean, bright and well maintained. I would recommend this place to everyone. The location is super convenient and accessible.

Experiencia fantástica: But I do warn parents that if you do not support fluoride, you make it known before the procedure for anesthesia because they will not let you know that they’re going to do fluoride treatment. So let’s just say that was the first time my son was ever exposed to fluoride But otherwise, everything went great, and I love the friendly staff. So I will still put 5 stars but again , just confirm everything medically and what not, before hand, since I feel it way my bad… but uk. You live and you learn and I just want other parents who support my same beliefs to know before hand.

Everyone who helped us was so kind and I wish I could remember her name, but the woman who did her exam before the doctor came in, the doctor and the women at the check in/check out desk, were amazing!

Experiencia negativa: I recently visited SmileLand Pediatric Dentistry for my daughter’s second routine check-up. At check-in, I clearly declined the fluoride application because my MetLife Dental plan covers it only once per year, and she had already received it during her first visit. After the exam, the dentist mentioned a cavity forming and recommended a treatment to slow its progression, assuring me that the treatment was covered by insurance. Based on that assurance, I agreed. However, after leaving the clinic, I received a call stating I owed $52 for a fluoride application that was performed without my consent and is not covered by insurance. I returned to the clinic and expressed my concern, as I was told the treatment was covered. I am not a dental professional to understand medical abbreviations and rely on clear communication from the clinic regarding what procedures are being done and what costs I will incur. While I appreciate the care provided, this experience left me feeling misled. Transparency and upfront disclosure of costs are essential for trust. Patients should never be surprised with charges after being told a procedure is covered. Attaching treatment plan and ledger for transparency – note the $52 fluoride charge despite declining it initially and the note about SDF.

Experiencia fantástica: Hi, I am not sure of our hygienists name but she is absolutely amazing! My son has sensory issues and feels so comfortable with her. She is the first person to get through a full cleaning with him, take all the necessary xrays and she was even able to give him sealants before. He specifically asked today if he was going to see the same person.

Experiencia negativa: I chose this dentist office because the review were good and when I called the had availability and said they accept my insurance. I received a much higher invoice later that day than I expected and when I called they said they don’t accept my insurance…that’s the reason I chose them is because they said they did. I took the morning off work and ended up paying them $250 to basically brush my kids teeth again for me and give me a tooth brush. Very frustrating and disappointing

Experiencia negativa: While the care our son received at this dentist office was good, the billing has been an absolute nightmare! We have not been clients there in over 1 1/2 years and we are STILL receiving bills from this practice with no reasonable explanation from staff. Every time we have received a bill we have paid what was requested IN FULL (or so we thought). We recently received another bill from care received over a year ago for over $200 and we have called the office several times asking why we keep receiving bills for the same 2 appointments (the only appointments our child had there). The front desk staff will not let us speak to billing (we received a message from Roger but apparently are not allowed to speak to him). We would come in person to discuss but we are a military family and left MA back in the summer of 2024. I don’t know how else to get resolution to this issue, it feels extremely predatory and wrong. We are happy to pay any true balance owed but at this point will need something in writing from this dental office that our account is paid and closed to feel and sense of closure as we receive a new balance owed every few months.

Experiencia negativa: Liz was absolutely fabulous. Explained everything she was going to do, my daughter doesn’t typically talk to new people right away but she was very comfortable with Liz. She has a wonderful personality and is amazing with kids who have a harder time than most adjusting. The dentist my daughter saw after Liz very quickly looked at my daughter’s teeth (as in less than one minute quick). I am honestly still trying to get a feel for her before deciding if I will keep her there or switch her. She seems very judgmental, and was irritated by me asking questions. However, she was able to provide answers and get her in pretty quickly for her next appointment. Since our first meeting was very brief I will be continuing to take my daughter there as the dentist does seem to be good at what she does. We will continue to feel the situation out. ***updating. I understand why they want a review after the first visit. As stated above, Liz was fantastic and I wish we could stick with just her. The office called 1 full week prior to her next appointment to confirm it, which I did. The next day they texted to say the “doctor is unavailable that day”. I find it odd that they called a full week ahead of time and wouldn’t know the doctor wasn’t available when they called me to confirm. They also don’t leave voicemails, they call you back to back repeatedly until you answer for non urgent things (appointment confirmation for an appointment they cancelled less than 24 hours later). It appears that they are not at all organized. After reading a bunch of reviews stating treatment plans were not made in interest of the child but in the interest of the dentists pocket, I was hesitant, but that combined with the lack of organization makes it hard to trust them therefore I will be looking for another provider, especially if they cannot get my daughter in the office soon enough to a day they do not cancel.

We made an emergency appt as new clients and they took us in the same day to evaluate and make her comfortable and then did her root canal first thing the next day. I am thrilled with their responsiveness and the staff, dentist and endodntist were gentle, compassionate and informative.

I was nervous going into this appt because my daughter has had rough times at her doctor appts in the past. We were greeted by the friendliest hygienist. Experiencia negativa: I took both my kids here. They charged me more than what they supposed to be and was not responsible at all. If you are not attentive and not have a pre estimate, they will charge you. So be careful!

Experiencia negativa: This place is a rip off. Go elsewhere for a more honest diagnosis. Took my son to another dentist. They care more about money than the health of your child. They reviewed my son’s x rays from previous dentist and came up with the most ridiculous response to remove my son’s baby teeth under anesthesia, but they say insurance doesn’t cover the $2,000 surgery and it’s in Boston. Got a third opinion looked at the same xrays and nothing about my son needing surgery. This is all about money and worrying parents so they spend unnecessary. Always get another opinion.

Experiencia negativa: I was initially impressed with how clean and welcoming the office was. Our first visit went smoothly, though the cleanings for both kids felt almost too rushed. However, our follow-up visit for the treatment plan was a frustrating experience filled with miscommunication. When we arrived, the front desk couldn’t find our treatment plan. After some back and forth, I was presented with a partial plan that was different from the original. When I requested to speak with the dentist for clarification, we agreed to proceed with the original plan. But once we were taken back to the room, the plan had changed again—only a portion of the treatment was being offered. After 45 minutes of confusion, I insisted we follow the original plan, only to be told that they were concerned I wouldn’t be able to afford it. While I appreciate financial transparency, I should have been given the full options, not assumptions made about what I could afford. On top of that, the dentist was pressuring me to proceed with fillings instead of extractions that were clearly warranted. It felt more like they were pushing for what was more profitable rather than what was best for my child’s dental health. At that point, I no longer trusted what I was being told. To make matters worse, I was charged $32 for nitrous oxide because it was applied on my child while I was discussing the plan with the dentist and front desk. This experience left me extremely disappointed. A dental office should be clear, organized, and prioritize patient care—not create unnecessary confusion, make assumptions, and pressure patients into questionable treatment choices. I won’t be returning.

Experiencia negativa: The attendants are great but dental treatment is not like that. After having 6 fillings done I went to another dentist and he will have to redo everything they did there at Smileland. I had already found it a little strange how quickly she did the fillings there but after another professional analyzed the work and told me this, I was only sure that I was right. I think that since they accept state insurance they do this horrible job, but they are being paid the same. Unfortunately the quality of the work is poor.

The dental hygeinist was especially good at making my (very anxious) kid feel comfortable and safe. The Dr was kind and gentle too. They also allowed our entire family into the room which helped curb her nerves. Overall a very kid-friendly experience so we’re happy.

I told the doctor I didn’t want her to extract any of my son’s teeth she end it up extracting both of the front teeth and telling me the new ones will come up in two years. I am extremely mad. I will never come back to this clinic and I will never recommend it to anyone. Also doctor is not that friendly to be working with kids.
