Experiencia fantástica: My experience with Whitehall Dental Arts has been a pleasure, starting with my initial telephone contact and continuing through to my actual visits. Everyone I've encountered has been professional, competent and pleasant. I had been having dental issues for a number of months before my first appointment with Whitehall several weeks ago. On my first visit with Dr. Bremnes she listened to my concerns and suggested a treatment plan (at home and in office). There was no pressure to make a commitment that day or to have as much work done as quickly as possible. Very low key. There is more to do but, after two visits, I feel better than I have since March. One more thing: the facility is pristine. One can get a pretty good idea how much a practice values its employees and clients based on the protocols in place. Whitehall's are top notch. This is the second review I am writing for Whitehall Dental Arts because I feel it is warranted. This place is the best--starting at the top with Dr. Jaime Bremnes. Recently, shortly before Thanksgiving (2024), I was experiencing symptoms, including lymph note swelling, which I thought were ENT related and made an appointment with a doctor in that speciality. He told me that, more than likely, I had a viral infection and prescribed steroids (which I did not take) to help with the swelling. He told me to come back in two weeks if I didn't feel better. Less than a week later, the swelling on the side of my neck had gotten much worse and I was having difficulty eating because of the pain. I contacted Whitehall Dental Arts and they were able to see me the following morning. Dr. Bremnes examined me. After eliminating any possible dental causes, she advised that it was her belief that I had a salivary stone blocking one of my salivary glands. She was concerned that, if it continued to grow, it might impact my breathing. She wanted me to see an oral surgeon right away and made the appointment herself. After a CAT scan that day, the oral surgeon confirmed Dr. Bremnes' diagnosis, prescribed antibiotics and recommended surgery. The ironic part of all this is that the issue of salivary stones is supposed to be in the purview of an ENT, like the one who diagnosed me as having a viral infection. So, my recommendation would be: go see Dr. Bremnes at Whitehall Dental Arts for all your dental needs, and more.

Our assistant Mary was excellent in assisting Dr. Ninnavagi. Dr. Bremnes along with her staff are exceptional and would recommend them to anyone.

I often get nervous and feel uncomfortable at the dentist, but everyone here was so kind and friendly, which immediately put me at ease. I had a dental cleaning, and surprisingly, I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. They even had a TV to watch during the treatment, which helped me relax throughout the process. Everywhere in the office from the waiting from to the dental operatory are clean and immaculate. Dr. Ninivaggi is absolutely amazing! Asks what’s hurting or what you’re looking to do about your smile. She gives you a plan that suits your needs and while she’s doing her work she’s very gentle and accommodates everything you need to feel even more comfortable. I recommend her and her staff 100% and will never let anyone else ever touch my teeth ever again!! The woman who was assisting in helping my procedure and who also did my x rays was fantastic too! Phenomenal experience!

I always book with Sheila, the dental hygienist - she is extremely meticulous and provides a thorough cleaning. She gives suggestions on how to better brush my teeth and teaches me new flossing techniques. I also always book with Dr. Ninivaggi, the dentist - I love how she always explains what she's doing and answers all my questions. They're never pushy either. Plus, their water jet cavity machine is a game changer! I also take my kids here and they get the best cleanings.

Experiencia fantástica: The entire experience from booking the appointment online, to the welcome of the staff, hygienist and Dr. Bremnes was exceptional.

Experiencia negativa: I helped a friend with her teeth after she went to another dentist in Queens for a routine cleanng in late 2019 that resulted in two crowns, a root canal, and lots dental trauma. We went to Whitehall for a routine cleaning and take care of any issues she was facing. I initially called to schedule her with Dr. Bremnes, but had her scheduled with Dr. Perez as Dr. Bremnes was out. The staff was friendly and the office was one of the best designed dental offices I've seen. The hygenist was nice and cleaned her teeth very thoroughly with that part of the visit alone taking about an hour. Dr. Perez recommended and completed a fluoride treatment, but did not prescribe an extra fluoridated toothpaste as well which I believe was appropriate. Treatment Plan: Dr. Perez spent about 30 minutes reviewing her teeth and assembling a treatment plan. She recommended replacing two crowns and treating 4 cavities. She was kind, but there was a communication barrier so I'd only recommend her for spanish speaking patients. Whitehall sent us the X-Rays and treatment plan, but the images were poor quality. They also never sent the intraoral images they took. We followed up with Dr. Basra at the Smilist in Rockville Center. He very clearly delineated the most important issues to take care of first, which resulted in 1 crown and 1 cavity needing to be corrected for the moment. Since Whitehall gave us poor images, he also generously took new imaging at no cost to us. Costs: On the phone, the receptionist told me they were in-network with Cigna, but didn't specify they were in-network with Cigna DPPO, but not Cigna Advantage DPPO that has more coverage. The cleaning was not covered as a result and we had to pay some portion out of pocket. The fluoride treatement they did cost ~$35. They wanted to charge ~$400 vs ~90 at the Smilist for a filling and ~$2000 vs ~$850 at the Smilist for a Crown. Those are retail prices before insurance coverage kicked in which exacerbates the difference because The Smilist is part of Cigna DPPO Advantage. Reccomendation: I would not recommend this office because it is both expensive and the service doesn't rise to the level of that standard. Zendentistry accepts Cigna DPPO Advantage and had nice staff if you're looking for something near this office though we didn't actually get a second opinion from them. I would highly recommmend The Smilist in Rockville Center with Dr. Basra. Verdict: This dental office has a great smile, but they need to take off those veneers and fix a few cavities underneath.
