Experiencia negativa: I have been a patient at Timber Dental since approximately 2016, and until recently, my experiences had generally been positive. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was disappointing. After checking in, I waited in the lobby for about 5–10 minutes before being brought back to a room. I expected my routine cleaning to begin, but instead a young staff member, who appeared to be in training, began polishing my teeth. The polishing continued for over 15 minutes without any actual cleaning taking place. I ultimately asked that it be stopped because it felt unproductive and frustrating. When the dental hygienist arrived, she apologized and explained they did not want me sitting idle. However, polishing prior to cleaning — especially for an extended period — did not make sense to me and felt poorly coordinated. Additionally, I have noticed frequent turnover in dentists. At nearly every visit, I seem to see a new provider, and I have felt ongoing pressure to pursue dental procedures that I am not interested in. While I understand that recommendations are part of care, the repeated nature of these suggestions has felt more sales-driven than patient-centered. I have also observed a noticeable shift in the front desk atmosphere. In previous years, the staff was consistently warm, welcoming, and professional. During my recent visit, the interaction felt abrupt and impersonal, and there appears to be significant turnover in administrative staff as well. As a long-term patient, this change in experience has been disappointing. I hope Timber Dental reflects on consistency of care, communication, and overall patient experience, as these elements are just as important as clinical treatment.

I was especially nervous because it was a dental check(and my english is not good), but everyone at Timber Dental was incredibly kind and welcoming from start to finish. The staff guided me through every step of the process, which made me feel comfortable and at ease. The doctor was also very thoughtful and considerate, taking the time to explain everything clearly and making sure I felt comfortable throughout the visit. I truly feel fortunate to live so close to this clinic. It was a very satisfying experience, and I would like to sincerely thank the entire team for their excellent care.

Experiencia fantástica: I barely sat down in the waiting room before I was called into a room. When I mentioned the room was a little chilly the assistant brought a blanket and when I asked if there was a pillow to support my lower back one was brought in. They work very hard to make a person feel comfortable at the dentist, knowing it can be an uncomfortable experience. They also were able to prevent some discomfort during cleaning by applying a slight numbing gel to my sensitive spots.

The dental assistant and the Dentist were both very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The staff were able to estimate all the cost for future work as well as the insurance portion, and then review this before any future appointments were made. I would recommend this office to others.

Experiencia negativa: During my three years with Timber Dental, I have been extremely disappointed with their service. When I first moved to Oregon 2022 and visited their office, they had messed up my kids’ appointments. When we arrived, there was no appointment scheduled at all. It was a complete waste of time for all three of us. Over the phone, I had specifically requested that the appointments be scheduled in half-hour increments so my 2–3-year-old daughter would not be scared without me being present. Eventually, after a month or so, we were seen, but they insisted on taking X-rays for my very young (2~3 year old) daughter. Last year, they recommended Invisalign for me. Their quote was $800–900 more than what my friend, who has the same insurance, was quoted at another office. I showed them my friend’s quote, and the office manager said they could match it and would call me back. I never heard from them for 2–3 months. At my next visit for my kids’ appointments, I followed up, and they told me they could no longer match the price but could write off $300 instead. Since they are close to my home, I decided to move forward with them. I scheduled an appointment to start treatment, but instead of beginning the process, they only rescanned my teeth. They required me to pay 50% of my out-of-pocket cost upfront, assuming my insurance would only pay half because I plan to switch insurance in 2026. I was told I would only need to pay the remaining balance once the process was complete. When my Invisalign arrived and I went to pick it up, they demanded the remaining balance in full before releasing it middle Dec. I explained that I would have several thousand dollars available in my FSA starting January 2026 and asked if I could pay in two weeks. They refused and said I could not take the aligners unless the bill was paid in full. During this process, the staff also had difficulty locating the previously discussed $300 discount. I had to explain the situation multiple times and spend about 10 minutes going over the details and showing the original quote. Additionally, they said they would contact my insurance company to clarify some questions I had, but they never followed through. I had to return in early January to pick up my Invisalign. They try to collect the remaining balance and said nothing until I showed them my Delta Dental statement, which indicated that insurance had paid in full—not half of the estimated amount they had assumed. Today, during my visit, they charged me $63.50 out of pocket for a cleaning, even though my insurance covers two cleanings per year and this was my first cleaning of 2026. When I asked why, they said they had categorized it as periodontal cleaning. I told them I did not need that and preferred to schedule a regular cleaning next time instead. The staff refused, saying the dentist recommended 3–4 cleanings per year and they could not change it. It feels similar to other reviews I’ve read—categorizing cleanings differently allows them to charge more. I have had enough and will be switching providers after today.

Experiencia negativa: They wouldn't clean my teeth unless I had a deep cleaning. I had gone to a different dentist in another city 4 months before, and everything was fine. I went to yet another new dentist after the visit and they said everything looked great. Also, they mistakenly sent me home with someone else's files / dental paperwork.

Experiencia positiva: I'm only giving a 3 due to having Emergency availability and nice reception. Otherwise I felt like the Dr. Was cold and seemed irritated I was there, generally an uncomfortable experience. To add told me I needed a specialist who would do part of a treatment then send me back there to finish it, I instead went back to my dentist in McMinnville who performed the exam, root canel, fited and made a permanent crown all the same day! Good to have an Emergency service to get antibiotics but not a pleasant time and care more about profit than client care.

Friendly welcome; clear description of what was happening (for x-rays, pictures, etc.); easy introduction with DDS; helpful information along the way of this introductory appointment. I like the Dentist; I look forward to my second visit for cleaning. On my way out and since, by e-mail, I was given a clear estimate of the cost for recommended procedures ahead. I feel comfortable and confident about my dental care moving forward.

Experiencia negativa: I have been going to Timber Dental in Bethany for almost five years because my insurance only covered this clinic. Unfortunately, my experience has not been very positive. In my opinion, the focus often felt more on insurance billing than on my actual dental care. I also noticed that I was frequently quoted high out-of-pocket costs, sometimes between $600 and $900 per visit, even with insurance. I would recommend that anyone visiting this clinic review their treatment plans and insurance coverage carefully before proceeding. Based on my experience, I would not personally choose to continue care here.

I am a total scaredy cat of a patient and use nitrous for almost everything. Not only were they able to accommodate but Dr Martin also gave me some practical tips for coming into the office that lowered my anxiety immensely. She really clearly walked me through what was going to happen and, when plans had to change, she made everything easy to understand. The work I had done took several visits and Dr Martin and Rachel were always so kind and funny that coming back in was easy. I didn’t even need nitrous at my follow up appointments. I really appreciate the team here; they are great!!

Always friendly, always helpful and professional, and provide amazing care. We are limited in providers under the military insurance, so it's great that Dr. Flamion is an in-network provider for TriCare/United Concordia. Although they're not technically a pediatric dentist, they provide amazing service for our entire family. My 7 year old loves the toy chest in the check out area, where she can choose a small toy to take home.

For a while I was having tooth and gum sensitivity that was amplified when I was getting a deep cleaning. The dental hygienist upon learning this took extra time to deep clean my teeth by hand versus with an automatic tool to avoid causing any additional irritation or pain. Experiencia negativa: This place would get 0 stars if it was an option. I'll just recount my story here so everyone can understand to avoid this place. My appointment was originally set for 3PM. The office gave me a 48 hours’ notice that my appt was pushed back 30 minutes. That was fine. Although once I got there, I waited till about 4:10 PM before they brought me back to a room. I expected a cleaning and evaluation like any other doctor’s office. Although after my x-rays and another 30 minutes of waiting no cleaning was performed. Finally, the dentist comes out and take some measurements and talk with me. They recommend I get a descaling based off their exam which I found suspicious because I have taken great care of my teeth my entire life. Well, the appointment ends after that without any cleaning. I go to get my estimate for care and it’s about $2,500. This was absurd especially after not receiving the cleaning I originally set the appt for. Therefore, I went to a second dental office for an opinion. They said I did not need that intensive cleaning, their exam findings were drastically different then Timber Dental and only quoted me $81 for my dental care. Therefore, I believe Timber Dentistry is provided unnecessary care to patients and overcharging them for that care. I would highly recommend checking out Spangler Family Dentistry Instead.

Experiencia fantástica: Timber Dental is best dental provider in Portland in my experience! As I’m sure is the case with lots of people, I have significant anxiety around going to the dentist. When I shared this with the dental assistant, she took it very seriously and treated me with respect and compassion, explaining everything she was doing prior to doing it and taking steps to make me feel more at ease. The dentist was wonderful as well—treated me like a human being and not just a patient. This is a big deal for me. I highly recommend this clinic.

The first time I used them was when I had a broken tooth and the dentist I'd been seeing for 9 years wanted me to wait 3 weeks to see him. Timber Dental got me in that day. I was so grateful! They took great care of me. I then returned for my 6 month check up and was treated with kindness and great care. I had my xrays and exam with Dr. Flamion and her hygienist Taylor and they were both so friendly, thoughtful, and gentle. They always made sure I knew what they were going to do before they did it and regularly checked in with me to make sure I was doing ok. I needed some additional work done and when Dr. Flamion heard I was starting a new job the next day she offered to put me in to an open spot in her schedule that day so I could get it all done and not worry about making another appointment to come back. I never felt pushed to add additional services for more money either. The front desk staff has also always been extremely friendly, helpful, and considerate as well. I've had very positive experiences at Timber Dental and I'm very thankful to have found them.

However, I have noticed that they do tend to push for expensive deep cleaning treatment which IMO can be resolved by good oral care and hygiene. My only suggestion to them is to actually listen to patients and not be pushy.

Experiencia negativa: There are many talented dentists and caring medical professionals in Portland. Timber Dental didn't hire any of them. Timber Dental pushes patients for expensive, unnecessary treatments by denying regular, less costly dental cleaning service. I had terrible experience with this dental office when I visited it in early March 2025 as a new patient due to insurance coverage change. I particularly asked for a regular dental cleaning appointment. After spending two hours on the dental chair, taking all the xrays and oral evaluations, the dentist recommended a deep clean which costs over $1600, not covered by my insurance. After I turned down this offer and insisted I needed only a regular maintenance cleaning which I have been doing 3 times a year with my former dentist, I was told Timber Dental’s hygienist "doesn't feel comfortable to provide regular clean since doctor recommended deep clean", even after I explained how my dental conditions have been and I need only a regular maintenance clean at this point.

From cleanings to extractions to all the fixings, they’re clear about procedures, pricing and are very consistent in checking on the patient throughout their work. I had several treatments with Dr. Kodali and his assistant Edwin, and as of today, I don’t have any complaint. They care to explain in detail the issues and the treatments, giving me extra confidence.

Experiencia negativa: The one star is for their clean and modern office, as well as the administrative staff and hygienist who did my cleaning, as they were lovely. However, I had the worst dental experience of my adult life here. Neither the assistant nor the dentist clearly communicated their actions prior to taking them, and although I didn’t previously have dental anxiety, I’d still appreciate a heads-up when I’m about to receive a massive shot of Novocain rather than suddenly see the dentist hovering a giant needle over my face. The dental assistant barely responded to me when I spoke, and treated me like I was something on an assembly line she needed to complete as quickly as possible. The dentist and his assistant were both rough, not picking up on my cues at all, and at one point I had to tell them to wait and slow down so I could take a breath—neither of them asked me if I was ready prior to shoving fingers and various contraptions into my mouth or even simply told me what they were about to do, which in my experience is standard practice. I’ve also never had a dentist stand over me while working, and it was very uncomfortable and claustrophobic. After I spoke up in frustration (I was becoming really anxious) and stated that they were moving too fast (I just needed a moment to swallow and take a breath before the assistant shoved her hands in my mouth, literally two seconds), it was hard to tell if the assistant was being intentionally rough or if that’s her typical bedside manner. Either way, it was unacceptable. She was very rough and careless. And rather than apologize or respond kindly when I spoke up, the assistant repeatedly said “you’re good, you’re good” which I clearly was not. I’ve never had anyone performing dental work on me behave in this way—it seemed as though they’d forgotten I was a human. While they were waiting for the Novocain to kick in the dentist shoved a remote control at me, reclined the chair, and told me I would now lay down and watch Netflix. I didn’t want to lay down and watch Netflix, and there was no asking me, just telling. I had to put the chair back up myself since he exited the exam room so quickly. Additionally, I was previously a patient at Wolfe Dental, but sadly had to change insurance and they were no longer in-network for me. I had my last cleaning with them about seven months prior to my first appointment at Timber. The dentists at Wolfe are PROS, truly top-notch, and it seemed very odd that Dr. Kodali found a ton of new dentistry issues and felt the need to criticize prior work I’d had done at Wolfe—I highly doubt that my teeth suddenly deteriorated that much over a seven month period of time. Upon reading other reviews here, it sounds like others have had similar experiences. I could go on and provide further examples of incompetency and poor patient care, but I’ll refrain and just say that if Wolfe Dental or Macadam Dental are in network with your insurance (sadly they’re not with my current coverage), I highly recommend both.

Experiencia fantástica: Really nice experience compared to my kid’s previous dentist. Both Doctor and hygienist are very efficient and gave us helpful treatment suggestion. Front desk explained all the cost clearly and the time slot for next appointment is very flexible.

Experiencia fantástica: Appointments start right on time. Facility has the most modern equipment. I like the text reminders of of appointments. The location has great parking. It’s a great fit for our family. The hygienist was super sensitive to my needs and made my experience very comfortable.

Experiencia positiva: It was slow. It was my first time going to Timber Dental Bethany. The appointment is only about taking the x-ray and having the doctor do an evaluation. I spent half of the time waiting in the dental chair. Since I didn't know when someone was to come in to do the next step, I twiddled my thumb and wondered. The staff did have good attitudes. Hopefully in the future, they will be more efficient.

Experiencia fantástica: Sylvan was so wonderful with walking me through the steps of setting up an appointment, connecting insurance, and also connecting me to payment plans. Rachel M was so welcoming and very personable. I loved that we were able to connect. Dr.Flamion was so funny, welcoming, and shared some lovely recommendations for my teeth AND shows for me to watch next. The Timber Dental Bethany Community as a whole was nice & the environment was everything I could dream of when it comes to going to a dental office. Some dental offices can be an anxious place, I felt so blessed that I only experienced good vibes. Thank you Timber Dental Bethany!

Experiencia fantástica: Nicole in patient care team was absolutely outstanding! She went above and beyond helping me find a periodontist who took my insurance. I was desperate and she was reassuring, diligent and above all knowledgeable of periodontists and insurance. I really can’t thank her enough! I already have steered people to the Bethany office because the dentist are good so as well. They caught the damage a previous dentist caused under a crown. All round great office.

Experiencia fantástica: Timber Dental is extremely nice. Not only are their offices located in a very new building but their equipment is state of the art, in other words the latest and greatest. I HIGHLY recommend Timber Dental and especially Edwin, one of the dental assistants and My Dentist Doctor Kodali. (Smile)

Experiencia fantástica: (update) the doctor is exceptional.but the front staff and commerical seem to have gone to predatory pricing. There were too many people arguing about the billing and the staff doesn't seem to do insurance deligence ahead of time. Dr. Kodali is an A+ dentist and takes utmost care to cover the patient issues above and beyond superficial issues. He is trained at UPenn, a top dental school and OHSU. He takes time to speak to the patient and has excellent bedside manner. He also speaks Telugu which might be a big relief for many residents in this community. Dr. Kodali is an asset to the community and I hope he stays here for long term. on the clinic side: I would strongly recommend adding an endodontist to the clinic. Bethany area lacks one and will have sustainable business. I also think having an oncall dentist for weekends really makes the difference. They do run out of dental supplies and maybe sign of the management's focus on profits. it is a bit worrisome to not have all the supplies needed for a test/procedure. For a family clinic the experience for children is pretty generic without a ton of attention to their experience. The clinic itself is run commercially and one can expect billing and other issues. They are easy to schedule for now, being new to the area.

Experiencia fantástica: My first time at Timber Dental for a 6-mo cleaning was a poor experience. Waited 40 minutes in chair to see the Doctor and then he had me reschedule to come back for deep cleaning. I almost didn’t return but I’m glad I did. The hygienist, Minh, was one of the best I’ve ever had in my 60+ years. He made me feel so comfortable and did a super good job cleaning deep without using Novocaine as I was originally told by the doctor on my 1st visit. And he was so patient in explaining everything. Thank you Minh!

Experiencia fantástica: Always a great experience. Very down to earth and they communicate very well with the patients in regard to costs and plans. My only ‘negative’ is that they are overly nice lol I think my dental hygienist said ‘Thank you so much’ like 20 times during my visit . Love it here! Definitely recommend.
