In May of 2011, Dental Depot looked northward to the city of Tulsa as an opportunity to continue bringing high-quality dental care to more Oklahomans, opening its 11th location near the corner of 21st and S. Sheridan Rd., across from The Shops at Alameda and just minutes away from the Broken Arrow Expressway, I-44 and I-244. Because Dental Depot at S. Dr. Seun Olaniran attended college at Bethel University and dental school at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Born in Nigeria, Dr. Olaniran has wanted to pursue a career in health care for as long as he can remember. After volunteering at a local dental clinic, it became clear to him that a career in dentistry was the right choice. In his free time, Dr. Olaniran enjoys going to the gym, playing soccer, and spending time with his family and wife, who was his high school sweetheart.

Dr. Avina received both her undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Oklahoma. She was drawn to dentistry because of her love for working with her hands—and her natural detail-oriented mindset.

Her favorite part of dentistry is helping people regain confidence, restore function, and relieve pain, knowing that even small changes can have a life-changing impact.

Beyond providing excellent dental care, we’re deeply committed to making a difference in our community. Since 1978, giving back has been a key part of Dental Depot’s culture. Each year, we donate thousands of dental hygiene products to families through initiatives like the Smiley O’Riley program and Feed the Children. We also support causes close to our hearts, such as the Special Olympics, Breast Cancer Research, and Wounded Veterans of Oklahoma, because we believe in helping those who need it most.

In 1978, Navy veteran Dr. Glenn Ashmore opened the first Dental Depot office in Oklahoma City’s historic Linwood neighborhood as a small, family-owned private practice. Although that building burned down in 2001, during the construction of the second Oklahoma City Dental Depot location, community support helped us recover quickly. More than 45 years later, we’re proud to have just as many locations throughout Texas, Arizona, Missouri, and Oklahoma, with 25 here in the Sooner State alone!

I am very satisfied with the level of care my child received and that standards of excellence in customer service as well as communication. This was our first visit, we needed a major procedure done - it was carried out in the most comfortable manner which put my child at ease - not an easy feat for a root canal and tooth extraction. We are switching our care to Dental Depot.

Everyone said they couldn't help me when my bridge broke at 3 in the afternoon. Dental Depot took me in right away and made emergency procedures so I could go home and sleep. They also made arrangements for the next day to start rebuilding my smile in time for my moms 96th birthday.

Absolutely fantastic experience visiting this location today. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. After explaining some of my issues my hygienist took the time to address the issues and recommend some great affordable products to try to remedy the problem. My family and I will definitely be returning and highly recommend checking them out.

Experiencia negativa: I came in for my appointment and spent the entire time in the lobby listening to the office manager (confirmed by the nurse who assisted me) loudly trash-talk a patient who had been seen earlier, then turn around and cuss while talking badly about one of their own employees. Using the F word. I’ve been a loyal patient at the 21st Street location for years, but I have never experienced such blatant unprofessionalism. If you dislike people this much, you have no business working in healthcare. The energy in that room was ugly, the professionalism was nonexistent, and the irritation plastered all over her face when anyone approached was unbelievable. This was embarrassing for the office, uncomfortable for patients, and completely unacceptable. I’ll be transferring my care elsewhere. Do better — much better.

Experiencia positiva: Bed side manners from dental hygienist(s) was bad. She was cleaning my permanent retainer pretty aggressively and said if she breaks it I can punch the other dental hygienist. It was not reassuring that she cared about my well-being or my teeth. Teeth cleaning was really bad—but I think the dental hygienist was simply new. The doctor was very kind. Simply put— the dental hygienists need to do better.

Experiencia negativa: Don't go here unless you absolutely have to. In November I got a crown, the person working on me sprained my jaw and I couldnt hold my mouth open for almost a month. I was in excruciating pain. Due to this I had to reschedule two follow up appointments. Today I arrive for my cleaning appointment at my scheduled time. They inform me that they double booked my appointment because I had rescheduled too many times in the past. Mind you I have only rescheduled in the past when my jaw was sprained due to their negligence. I am only still going here because it is currently my only option.

Experiencia negativa: Everyone should be aware of my 2 year and from 3 locations since my initial visit to regaining my confidence and smile from my constant struggle to be treated like animal by the process of being victimized by the system of the chain of dentistry retraining with new plan, cost or the process that was being unreasonably or delayed, rescheduled or seek to reverse a change to trying different locations to get treated for $ sign of dehumanizing results for unfair treatment of rude staff members and unprofessional childishness behavior or lack of knowledge regarding insurance claims, as changes in treatment plans and estimates often result in increased prices or pressure to accept payment plans, prioritizing these over patient needs. I experienced unprofessional treatment during my appointment, which involved the extraction of two molars, numerous injections without anesthesia, and elevated blood pressure, yet received no post-procedure care, prompting me to exit the chair with a drilled hole still exposed, causing sensation and pain from the root nerve and complications from eating, making the entire experience a nightmare. Having insurance through UHC for Medicare, I faced additional pain, both mentally and physically, due to complications that were added to my insurance benefits or charges for procedures not performed or completed. Visits to alleviate pain were also necessary. I question why this occurred. Lucy Marie returned from Home Depot and attempted to address the issue, but it was pleasant when I complained about Dental Depot due to the third visit I made since my treatment plan remained incomplete after two years, and they sought to charge me a fee for my treatment, which my insurance covers up to $4000 annually, yet they mistakenly used my old insurance, which had a $1000 allowance, resulting in a loss of $3000 due to their failure to verify and confirm information before processing treatment plans, displaying rude and dismissive behavior, failing to return calls. I requested that they contact me to initiate a new treatment plan to address two missing teeth and continue my treatment for bridges, etc., but this has yet to occur since last fall. I have yet to receive a call regarding the commencement of my treatment, which is now valued at over $4000, a figure that strangely increases with each dentist visit, suggesting that they prioritize profits over patient care, which is unacceptable. I intend to seek alternative dental care to repair my teeth, as they seem more interested in generating revenue than providing quality care, urging them to focus on patient needs rather than financial Cain and no remorse for the patient or respect.

Experiencia negativa: Took off from work and had to take my 2 kids out of school early but due to the long line of parents during pickup, I was 10 minutes late to my daughter's appointment. While attempting to check-in, I was told there was a 5 minute grace period and that I would need to reschedule (appointment was at 3 and I arrived at 3:11pm). Never have I heard this in my life. 15 minute grace period, yes but 5? Craziness. Will not return and will not recommend to others

Experiencia negativa: I have gone here consistently for nearly 6 years and it is only today i am leaving this review because i have reached my limit of patience. I have been told time and again for years due to this i have become very dilligent in my dental hygine yet over my last two visits it has amazed me i had some how accrued six cavaties after my cleaning only 2 months prior and so luckily i was able to be checked by another dental professional from another service within the same week of my last inspection and somehow they seemed to all have magically disapered. On top of the times i have actually went in to get fillings... every single time they have been misplaced.. and fall out within 2- 3 weeks of being in ( there is a distinction between an accident and intentionaly leaving a piece of filling so large that it has the ability to litterally be rippied out of your mouth while flossing ) This is poor practice and misleading people who genuinely need assistance

Experiencia positiva: The two times I've been, the front staff, assistants and oral hygienists are what make the place great. They are really personable and take their time explaining what they are doing and planning to do. Also, they have a very professional disposition. Outstanding. The Dentist(s)? I mean, they were nice I guess for the three minutes I saw them. I asked about a tooth problem and was kind of rush explained to regarding insurance. I didn't really get a satisfactory answer. The biggest negative, being told they couldn't book me for my next six-month cleaning until next year. LOL Geez. Still, I have to say my experience was really great with Dental Depot.

Experiencia negativa: Dental Depot Review – 2 out of 5 stars I had my appointment scheduled for 4:00 PM and arrived early around 3:40, but wasn’t called back until about 4:10. While I understand things can run behind, it felt like everything was rushed from the moment I sat down. The clinic itself was clean and the train-themed decor was a fun touch, but the experience overall left me feeling anxious and unheard. I hadn’t been to the dentist in years, so I was already nervous. They took x-rays and the doctor explained verbally what needed to be done, which I appreciated in the moment. I ended up getting two fillings done. Afterward, they told me they'd contact me when insurance covered the rest of the treatment — and that was it. No paperwork, no written treatment plan, nothing to take home. As someone with anxiety, I really needed something I could reference later because I wasn't fully able to process everything in the moment. I tried to find the information in their patient portal afterward, but it was empty aside from my appointment date. When I called the next day, I was told they don’t even have a portal, which was confusing since I clearly accessed it. I requested a treatment plan to be emailed and was told they’d send it — but they didn’t. I had to contact them again through a case manager, and even then I was told again that everything is handled verbally and not shared in writing because insurance is covering it. After pushing, they finally emailed something. I’ve never been to a dental office that didn’t provide written documentation of what work is being done or needed. The lack of communication and rushed environment made it a stressful experience. I was also uncomfortable during the procedure — I started gagging due to lack of suction, and after it was over, I was dizzy and just hurried out the door. It felt like I was in the way because they were trying to close. If you suffer from anxiety or prefer clear, written communication about your health care, this might not be the place for you. There’s potential here — clean facility, friendly enough staff — but the lack of follow-through and the rushed atmosphere really overshadowed the good.

Experiencia fantástica: Kind and courteous staff, they helped put my anxiety at ease and took utmost care in safely extracting a problem tooth. Dr was very helpful and gave extra numbing to affected area to ensure no pain during the process. Thanks to them in no longer afraid of the dentist.

Experiencia positiva: Everyone was nice st the clinic. The only annoying thing was when I initially tried to call to make an appointment I called three times in the same day. Twice mid morning and then around 3. Then I went online to try and schedule. People got back to me a couple days later and it was three different people trying to help. They must have dozens of phone calls and voicemails but their end of communication could be better. Same thing happened to me when I got rescheduled and already had my appt. People were trying to get me rescheduled when it already happened. Make more client notes or something. Check em! Lol I’m not mad it was just all SUPER annoying.

Experiencia negativa: They suck dentist is rude get sent on the run around for nothing lie say one thing then do another. Don’t recommend. Stick with Whatever works. 2/28/25 Another bad experience here had to DNR myself here. Put utensils on dirty counter say something about it gone day counter clean Starla put on gloves walk out room go other places open up cabinet doors think she gonna use same gloves to go in mouth.. Highly Recommend Another place 4 to Es it’s a wrap.

Experiencia positiva: They are great. But as someone who doesnt often see a dentist but is now starting to, I feel like you should be more informative and more engaging with patients after the procedures are complete. I understand you may have a busy schedule with other patients in line, but please stick around for a few more minutes to explain the aftercare. Same with the dental assistants. I sometimes feel like Im being rushed and dont want to come off as an annoyance for asking questions, especially when it looks like you have something to do or somewhere you have to be.

Experiencia negativa: Got rescheduled 3 times IN A ROW. The one time I got an appt set, they claimed a hygienist wasn’t there so I made a drive for nothing. Will NEVER go back there. Absolutely unprofessional and the Sheridan location needs to do better. The most they could do was shrug their shoulders.

Experiencia fantástica: Edit: 6 years and still going strong! I've been going here for 5 years and they have systematically worked out every fear or discomfort I have around the dentist. They treat you like a person. The hygienist has been there for 30 years and I always leave learning something new. I've never been treated this well and this consistently at any other dentist including other DD locations. Absolutely has my loyalty.

Experiencia fantástica: 01-18-2025 5 ☆ The Dental Depot on Sheridan in Tulsa gives excellent customer care, service and respectful attention to each customer. There is only three items of issue with the facility. (1) there needs to be a doorbell at the front door for clients that are handicapped. The front counter staff can't see if a client needs help getting into the building. I travel with a rollator, three small portable oxygen tanks for my COPD occupying both hands. (2) it would be nice to have two rot iron stools or chairs for the client s to wait for UBER rides because we can't see out of building to see if our ride is here. (3) to have handicapped push button doors on the two entry doors. Thanx.

Experiencia fantástica: It was bumpy beginning and my appointment was scheduled for 10 am. It ran over 1 hour and I was brought back around 45 minutes after. Oleva apologized about the unforeseen circumstances and was extremely reassuring ! She not only apologized but recommended a treatment for me. She’s such a blessing and I appreciate her so much !!!

Experiencia negativa: This place is okay everybody is friendly and professional and the dentist is fast and that's why I'm very disappointed. When I was a kid I chipped one of my front teeth. I have had a few dentist have to work on it and basically fill in one side and make it a full tooth. This dentist has done it twice and both times it has fallen out now the first time he did it he made it to where their was no kind of gap between the teeth and the second time looking at it in the mirror it didn't look like much or professional whatsoever and only lasted a couple weeks. So now I have half a tooth and he says I need a crown and I say slow down and do your job right.

Experiencia negativa: Usually a great experience. However, I was forced to reschedule a root canal while in pain because there was confusion over billing. They did work it out and reschedule the same day. The dentist accused me of getting “jumpy” as he was drilling my tooth, because I flinched with pain as I was not completely numb. Once the drilling was completed and the temporary filling was in, they led me to schedule the crown. No care instructions, no advice if the pain got out of control. Later that evening, as I felt the anesthetic starting to wear off, I preemptively took Ibuprofen. However, after an hour or so, the pain was setting in something fierce. It became unbearable. I switched to Tylenol and heat and ice. I even used clove oil. Nothing would abate the pain and I soon found myself in tears and desperate. I messaged the dentist office and begged someone for help. I received no reply until the next morning, by which time I had gone to the liquor store and drank myself to sleep. Then their automated system had the gall to pester me into writing a review.

Experiencia negativa: If I could take away a star and give him a minus I absolutely would! Let me just say my visit was great however these people are snakes in the grass! The reason for that is they are trying to charge me after they've been paid in full by my insurance company and they are a provider that is in my network. So to reiterate my point that they are snakes in the grass when they are trying to charge after they've been paid in full

Experiencia negativa: Be careful with what services you try to get from this place. I went to them to have a permanent bottom retainer remounted that had fallen off after being on for 20 years. The Dentist said it wouldnt be a problem and they could do the work. After they were done I thought everything was fine and I paid them. Just over two months later one side of it pops off again, so I go back and have it repaired. That was on a Monday, come that Thursday it pops off again. When I go back this time I was finally told that they actually dont do orthodontic work and that they didnt have the right equipment or materials. According to them, they were just trying to make it work with what they had. They then had the audacity to tell me that as a favor they would not bill me for the second or third time I came, but that they wouldnt refund the first time. If they had told me from the beginning that it wasnt something they could do I would have found somewhere that could, instead I'm out hours of time and a significant amount of money.

Experiencia negativa: I will be canceling any future appointments. The dentist assistant was rude to my 5-year-old and was trying to rush us out of our appointment before we even seen the dentist. If the dentist would have not stop us in the hall we wouldn't have saw him and my five-year-old was only asking what the things were going into his mouth

Experiencia negativa: Got the news that I need partials/extractions. Got that news in JUNE. It has taken months to get an appointment to have my teeth fixed. Only 2 cancelations were my fault (not one after another) and the other FOUR times THIS LOCATION has screwed me over, sending my labs to the wrong place, rescheduling me without a call, and yesterday I was made to wait in the waiting room for over an hour. Finally thinking I'm going to get my stuff fixed. I get called back into the room and I've been told, that my dentist is not going to have enough time and I need to reschedule AGAIN. I was told I'd receive a call back and haven't yet. The dental assistant are actually really nice. But the dentist and the front desk people either need additional training or better organizational practices. All of this waiting in this scrambling just to have two teeth fixed, has sent me to the ER due to pain. Really disappointed because the Garnett location is amazing at taking care of my kids, it's a shame that the Sheridan location isn't that good at taking care of adults.

Experiencia negativa: I went and during check in they called my insurance to see what they’d cover, did my X-rays and exam then had me sit in a chair for over an hour not doing anything saying they were trying to get ahold of my insurance again when they had already spoke to them right in front of me.. then refused to treat me because the next hour of appointments were coming in when my case was emergent I couldn’t eat or anything due to pain and wanted me to schedule another appointment to come back in two weeks.. 100% out to just force patients into multiple appointments to get the insurance to pay out, does not actually care about their patients.. I have already reached out to the Oklahoma board of dentistry and written a formal complaint against the dentist and facility itself.. what they did was not okay I had to reach out to my insurance and let them know what happened just so they’d cover me to see a different dentist same day

Experiencia negativa: Warning: long post. I had an issue with an old cavity and my tooth cracking so I made an appointment. The doctor said he could save my tooth as he said the roots and tooth itself looked good. A painful numbing injection, a crown and lots of money later I was set. I started having issues right away with pain/discomfort when trying to eat but thought it was going to be fine. I finally had enough a few weeks later and called them to be checked again. They told me to come in at 10 and I was thankful they could fit me in that fast. I checked in and sat in the waiting room for over 40 minutes when the worker (same one that checked me in) asked if I was waiting on someone. Once he realized I was a patient who had been waiting a while, he told me my appointment was at 11. What?!?! He then told me I only had 19 more minutes to wait. UGH. I finally was called back and examined by the same doctor. Yep now I’m on antibiotics because of the infection. I also was told my other fillings in that tooth had been removed during the first appointment and I had no idea!!!! Needless to say the tooth has to be pulled (after ALL the money I spent trying to save it as that doctor advised) but THEY won’t be doing it nor will they see me again.
