Experiencia fantástica: Outstanding. Amazing professional and friendly staff. Lisa Zanzig and Drew were exceptional listeners and showed compassion. My last Seven years of doctors out of state were grim.
Experiencia negativa: I am extremely disappointed with the way my telehealth appointment was handled\. This was the **second time in a row** that my telehealth appointment was incorrectly scheduled\. After the first appointment was mistakenly scheduled by the front desk staff, I spoke directly with Stacey, who personally scheduled another telehealth appointment for me for today, August 18, 2026\. However, I never received a confirmation or notification\. I waited more than **39 minutes** for the appointment before calling the front desk, only to be told that my appointment had been scheduled as an **in\-person appointment** instead of telehealth\. I then contacted Stacey, and she called me back and explained that her computer had crashed while she was scheduling the appointment and that she had asked someone at the front desk to finish the scheduling\. Apparently, the appointment was not entered correctly\. I understand that technical problems can happen, and I appreciate Stacey taking the time to explain what happened\. However, this is the **second consecutive time** that there has been an issue with my appointment, and there seems to be a serious problem with the way appointments are being scheduled and verified\. I was eventually offered a last\-minute appointment that afternoon, but I was unable to take it because of my schedule\. Overall, I am very disappointed\. Patients should not have to spend their time waiting for an appointment only to discover that it was scheduled incorrectly\. I hope the clinic reviews its scheduling process and communication system so this does not continue happening to other patients\ . few months ago, I called WNC Community Health Services to schedule an appointment with my primary care physician, Dr. Gustav. Because I knew I’d be out of town, I specifically requested a telehealth visit. The appointment was scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, at 9:30 a.m. The day before, I called because I hadn’t received any instructions on how to connect. The front desk told me the appointment had to be in person. I explained it was scheduled months earlier as telehealth because I knew I wouldn’t be in town. I was then told it shouldn’t have been scheduled that way since I hadn’t been seen in over a year. I understand that policy. However, it’s extremely hard to get an appointment there, and can take a very long time to be seen. I was told the appointment would be canceled. Then I asked them to contact the appropriate team and have someone call me back. The next day, I discovered I had received a text with a link saying the doctor was waiting. I missed it because I had already been told the appointment was canceled and supposed to be in person. I called again and asked to speak with the manager. I was told the manager was in a meeting, which I completely understand. I spoke with Stephanie, who assured me she would send a message and the manager would call me back. Unfortunately, I never received a call back from the manager or anyone from the mental health team. My biggest concern is the lack of communication and follow-up. Patients deserve clear information, especially when it involves mental health care. Now I’ll likely have to start the scheduling process all over again and probably face another long wait, even though this happened because of miscommunication from the clinic. I hope WNC Community Health Services reviews its scheduling and communication procedures so other patients don’t experience the same frustration. Rating:2 out of 5.

Experiencia negativa: This place has to have the absolute worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. I have been a patient here for almost two years and they can’t get a prescription approved from my doctor? I have had to go cold turkey off my anti depressants because of them. All they have done is give me the run around. After almost two weeks I still have no medication. At this point I don’t care if I have to stop all my medications because I do not want to have to deal with anyone at this place anymore. They could literally kill somebody with their incompetence. I filed a complaint but they apparently don’t care

Experiencia fantástica: I usually have seen Dr Fuller and he is amazing. Empathetic and actually listens and cares about his patients. He also is often a reference for other doctors working with trans clients. I've had to reschedule a few times due to my work and the only unfortunate thing is that there isnt more Dr Fullers! Sometimes appointments are far out but this place truly is top tier and I hope they can get more funding and everyone knows how much we appreciate them!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review, Rey!
Experiencia fantástica: Love dr Abbott
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! :)
Experiencia negativa: I never thought I would be writing this because after 10 years of going to WNCCHS, I have had and am still having the worst experience with my dealing with them. I'm on a medication that I must take. It is prescribed by a nurse practitioner. I put in for a refill on a Friday and by the following Friday, still no refill. I have to say, the pharmacy staff is wonderful. They tried to contact the NP more than once but received no response. I called the main number and was told they would send a message to the NP. Still no response. I tried one more time and was told the assistant was with a patient and a message was sent. No response. Meanwhile, I am suffering from mild withdrawal which will only get worse. Not only is the NP behaving unprofessionally, but her behavior is causing me to have adverse health concerns. I will be seeking a medical provider who sees me as a person. This NP should try it sometime.

Experiencia negativa: I am not sure what is going on here anymore. I myself am not a patient but I bring my aunt for care. She has not seen the same doctor in over a year and no one really listens to her. Last week she had lab work and there was nowhere to sit and we waited almost an hour. When we went for her prescriptions, we had to go to a small area to pick up and it felt like we were on top of other patients in there. The staff looks miserable. We do appreciate the discounts that are given to her but I told my aunt if our next visit goes the same, I'm going to look for other care for her.

Experiencia fantástica: Best community health center I've ever been too
We're glad you had a good experience, Elara!
Experiencia fantástica: The staff is amazing !
Thank you so much, Craig!
Experiencia fantástica: I love the doctors and the staff here. They're always so helpful. And you can always get in with the same day sick appointment. It's awesome and they have their own pharmacy.
Thank you for your review, Stacie!
Experiencia fantástica: First of all, I would like to thank Cindy/ Dental Manager for getting me my dental care before my scheduled date (3/3) Secondly, I had a swollen jaw and she had enough empathy knowing no one would have wanted to go the whole weekend in pain; lastly. thank you for putting the patient first as well.
Thanks for your 5-star review, Malinda! :)
Experiencia negativa: I recently visited Western North Carolina Community Health Services and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. One of the biggest issues I noticed was the high staff turnover—there always seem to be new faces, which makes it hard to build any real patient-provider relationship. It also gives the impression that the organization doesn’t care much about its staff or the patients who rely on continuity of care. Security believes they are US marshals and will throw you out for any reason. As a guardian of a patient, I felt that my specific health concerns were not taken seriously. The staff didn’t seem interested in understanding the occupational risks that come with my profession. During my appointment, the basics of a medical visit were rushed or skipped entirely—vitals weren’t checked, and none of my concerns were thoroughly addressed. Instead, I felt dismissed and unheard, which is incredibly frustrating. Overall, I would not recommend Western North Carolina Community Health Services. In my experience, it’s one of the worst places to see a doctor if you’re looking for attentive, personalized care. My concerns were ignored, and I left feeling like just another number.

Experiencia fantástica: Minnie Jones has been a literal life saver for me. From the moment I walked in the door every single staff member has been nothing but kind, compassionate, loving and supportive. They have walked me through so many unfamiliar processes that heretofore had been too daunting and bewildering for me to manage. Cass, has especially been a huge positive influence in my life and I am filled with gratitude for all the support I get from her. If you are lost or struggling, sick or afraid I promise you you will find home and family at Minnie Jones. Peace
This is beautiful -- thank you for sharing, James!
Experiencia negativa: I am literally floored at our experience. My mother has been a client here for years, and what happened this month is beyond unacceptable. We submitted a refill request on December 9th. When we went to pick up her medications today, the pharmacy staff claimed they had no record of it. Yet when we got home and checked the app, the refill request was sitting right there in black and white. This is the only pharmacy where my mother has ever had to split her doses. She lives with a terminal disease. She should never have to ration life‑saving medication just to survive until the next refill. MY MOTHER SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TO SPLIT HER BIKTARVY. Her medications cost between three and five thousand dollars a month. The Ryan White Fund is the only reason she is alive today. And yet, for the fifth month in a row, I have counted her splitting doses to avoid running out. That is not care. That is negligence. We tried to switch to another pharmacy, but Western North Carolina Community Health Services is the sole provider of the Ryan White Fund in this region. That means we are stuck here, forced to rely on a system that repeatedly fails to deliver. Things were better when Polly Ross was on staff. She could move mountains and get things done. Now, the level of service has dropped so low that we are considering going back to the “old way” — driving four hours one way to UNC Chapel Hill every month. I thought those days were behind us. I thought we could finally feel at ease. Clearly, we cannot. Yes, they tried to call back and fix it, but it was too late. We now have to make an extra, unplanned, unbudgeted trip back into town to pick up medications that should have been ready. And despite the fact that this mistake was entirely theirs, they didn’t even offer to deliver the medication at no charge. This is not just an inconvenience. This is a matter of life and death. Every missed refill, every split dose, every delay puts my mother’s health at risk. Patients who depend on Ryan White funding deserve better. They deserve consistency, accountability, and respect. We are done. No more of my mother having to split her doses. No more excuses. If Western North Carolina Community Health Services wants to call itself a provider, then it needs to act like one — because right now, it is failing the very people it is supposed to protect. --- This version adds: - Accountability language (“this is negligence,” “life and death”). - Emphasis on patient safety and the Ryan White Fund’s role. - Professional but forceful tone that makes clear you’re angry but credible. - Closing punch that leaves no doubt about your stance. Experiencia fantástica: I don’t know if this is the right place to leave a review for WNCCHS Dental, but hopefully it is! I haven’t been to the dentist in over 10 years. After months of calling and visiting in person, I was able to get on the dental waiting list. About a month later I got a call and was able to make an appointment. I was nervous because it’s been awhile since I saw a dentist. I’ve been a patient at Wncchs since 2013 and have had all kinds of conversations in the waiting room. I have witnessed the difficult situations the front desk staff are often put in by confused or frustrated patients and staff. I have a lot of respect for them. Even more so after today. I had a stressful experience in the waiting room and almost left before my appointment, but Maria and Gemina showed so much empathy and kindness while I was seriously triggered and crying that I felt safe staying. and gave me tissues while doing my X-rays and we talked about our pets. Dr. Shelley was so thorough in her exam and clear about what she saw that needed work. She even walked me back to the front desk because I was still kinda of emotionally wobbly. The last shoutout I have goes to Gabby, who holds together such an important part of the team: the front desk of dental. It’s impossible to avoid stressful interactions in life, but if it weren’t for them I’d have left and never got the tooth I need pulled out. 10/10 thank you Erin Taylor
Experiencia negativa: THIS PHARMACY IS FAILING ITS RYAN WHITE PATIENTS!!!!! I am literally floored at our experience. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Fuller rocks at Minnie Jones. He is a great doctor!
We appreciate your review, Beverly! And thanks for your kind comment.
Experiencia fantástica: They care a great deal for their patients
Thanks for these kind words, Angela!
Experiencia fantástica: Administrative and clinical staff are able to be supportive and resolve difficult situations

Experiencia fantástica: Mini Jones medical clinic has been the best experience for me in the six years I have been going there. There staff is very professional, very kind, and they should be well compensated for there hard work and dedication. Thank You Mini Jones medical clinic
Thank you for the kind feedback, Terence! We're glad you've had such a good experience.
Experiencia fantástica: I love the people and the process here
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review!
Experiencia fantástica: A great clinic for the community with all services available in one location, including pharmacy!
Thank you, Suzi!
Experiencia negativa: Literally this is exactly why I don’t like coming here, they take way too long to answer the phone and when they do it’s just to tell u to hold some more. If u get attended they don’t accommodate for nothing. I’m calling cause I’m in pain on one of my molar and I need to get it looked at before it gets worse, appointments aren’t available for another month and what’s worse is that the only other option is to go and waste my time sitting there hoping someone doesn’t show up for their appointments while I waste my day away. I tell everyone I don’t recommend this place, also terrible doctor service. I walk in with symptoms and still leave the same I came in. I’m not feeling the care they claim to provide.
Thank you for sharing your experience—we’re truly sorry we didn’t meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be to wait for care, especially when you're in pain or discomfort.
The demand for dental care across Western North Carolina is extremely high right now, especially for community health centers like ours. This is a challenge not just for us, but across the region. We know that asking patients to wait or rely on same-day openings isn’t ideal, and we’re working hard to expand access wherever we can. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience, and we take your concerns seriously.

Experiencia negativa: Over the years it's gotten nothing but worse and worse. Use to be a free clinic that actually helped and cared. Now days you can have legitimate physical issues and that old ding batt will tell you to just stretch it out. I went for weeks not able to sleep due to pain. Finally decided to be seen. That old women told me I need to sit and stretch better. After couple more weeks of can't sleep and no way to get comfortable. Just knew I had to try something else... turns out I had a broken shoulder and now that she made me wait longer to find out. It's set crooked and will never be right. To think they gave me a bill for nothing but being ignored.. this is now happening to my girlfriend with them. That women told her to stretch it out. It's definitely a spine issue! As someone that's hard 3 different back surgery. Happen to have an idea about these things.. Have to find a better place to be seen. Even now days the "doctor" they have me seeing. Is not a doctor. He always been the therapist and can't treat anyone. Yet they still trying to get people to pay for malpractice.... Miss the real doctor they use to have.he fixed everyone up so quick and just knew the issues.

Experiencia fantástica: I am always pleasantly surprised when I visit Minnie Jones! The staff are amazing. They seem to really care and really listen to any issues I have. I've never been to a medical facility that is as well run and we'll put together as they. I would (and do) recommend this facility to all my friends and family with complete trust in this decision. Thank you Minnie Jones and staff for everything!
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We’re so pleased to hear that you’ve had a good experience at Minnie Jones Health Center.
Experiencia negativa: I’m usually not the type to complain but if you have no insurance and make to much money for their bracket please be very cautious of this place, because I was charge almost $300.00 for being told just to do salt water rise and a netta pot I was sick with green and blood discharge in my chest, and the doctor dismissed me with test for Covid and etc but no antibiotics….. weird when the sickness around NC right now after hurricane Helene is giving people different upper respiratory infections which are highly contagious, and everyone has been impacted in some sort of way, rather if it’s direct or semi direct, either way I won’t be never going back to this place because now I maybe have to go to the doctor again since I’m getting sicker and feel that my concerns were not met and was dismissed, what a waste of time and money!.

Experiencia fantástica: I went for gender affirming care and hormone therapy. The staff are nice, considerate, respectful, humorous, knowledgeable, and are definitely dedicated to their work. I’m impressed.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a 5-star review!
Experiencia fantástica: Never had a problem with any part of the center. I've been going there 14 years.
Hi Beverly, your feedback is incredibly rewarding for all of us. We look forward to continuing to support your health journey.
Experiencia negativa: The Doctors are great there. The pharmcy is very judgemental and discriminates on humans with substance abuse disoder. I recently switched to Minnie Jones for primary care. I love my Doctor and my team. They sent my medicine to be filled at the pharmacy. When I went to pick up my medicine I was told they were on hold. I asked why! My Doctor had approved them amd sent them over. The pharmacy said they wanted me to get a care team to get my medicine through them. I have been on my medicine for 4 and a half years. I have never had a problem getting my medicine through another pharmacy. I felt so judged and that's how a pharmacy should be. If my Doctor called in my meds the pharmacy shouldn't have the right to refuse to give them to me or any person. Me not having my medicine could really hurt my life, mental health and physical health. Don't use minnie Jones pharmacy they treat people like they are addicts, they judge people and go against recovery!!!! The system needs to change.

Experiencia negativa: The incompetence of this place is unreal. Impossible to get a hold of providers or even front desk staff. My Doctor repeatedly sent the wrong prescription for meds & I ran out of them due to her inability to do what we agreed upon.
Hi Chelsea! We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. Your feedback is important to us as we continually work to improve our services. Experiencia fantástica: I was able to pick up free Covid tests, and could ask for as many as I wanted. Kind, courteous staff.
Experiencia fantástica: This is a very busy office! However, my dentist, Dr. Berkheimer is awesome. She has a kind demeanor, and makes me feel at ease when I need any dental work done. She also has a wonderful sense of humor, and I end up laughing a lot when I see her! I had to switch to a new doctor almost two years ago when the doctor I was seeing left WNCCHS. I see Dr. Davis. He is an outstanding physician! He truly cares about his patients. I believe he wants his patients to be healthy and happy. He has a great bedside manner, and I’m thankful I have Dr. Davis. I have never heard one negative word about him. I’ve had several health issues come up over the past year, and Dr. Davis has explored every possible angle to see what’s going on with me. It’s a comfort to know I have a physician who has my health and best interest in mind! I would highly recommend Dr. Davis to any of my family and friends without hesitation! I see Teri for my hygienist. She does an excellent job, and is very gentle in her work. She is also very kind, and wants her patients to have healthy teeth! I can only speak for myself, but WNCCHS has been a life saver for me! I’m thankful for them, and for all they do for me. Everyone has always been good to me through the years!
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone is extremely helpful, friendly , professional & treat you like a individual.
Experiencia fantástica: Gustav is a great doctor who cares about his patients <3
Experiencia negativa: On my very first visit with my Dr, I was informed that she was leaving the practice a few weeks later. Why would they schedule a doctor who was leaving with a new patient? So now I am calling Minnie Jones to discuss the referral that my long-gone doctor needed to put in, and I'm being told that I'd need to be assigned a new doctor and come in for another appt. before the new doctor can make the referral. I'm not trying to get opioids here, I'm trying to get an appt with a pelvic floor therapist. I'm very unhappy with the way I have been handled, and I will be looking for a different practice. I'm a momma and I work; i don't have time to drive 30 min one way to asheville to meet a different Dr to tell them again all the things the other Dr already put in my notes during my exam, just to get the referral i should already have. I don't feel considered or prioritized in any way, shape, or form.
Experiencia fantástica: I love Minnie jones health care facility! I have been a patient sense 2009 til present! The doctors and staff are so awesome!! I think them for all that has been done for me through the years!❤️❤️☀️ Peace & love Donna O
Experiencia fantástica: Caring community of health professionals All under one roof! Helpful and kind . I’ve been a patient for over 20 years and always feel listened to and cared for in the best way possible. I highly recommend.
Experiencia negativa: they take forever to anwser the phone been hours on the phone and no one has picked up
Experiencia negativa: Literally the worst health care for pregnant women. Women that are incarcerated receive better prenatal care.
Experiencia fantástica: This is the only place I can access medical. Almost everyone is proficient in Spanish, and for Spanish—speaking people (clients), I appreciate that. I am not a native Spanish-speaker but I appreciate that most people there can attend do folks that speak only Spanish. Very kind, non-judgmental staff. Their phlebotomists are highly skilled and amazing!. It makes a difference when they poke you and you barely feel anything, vs having to poke you 20x. Taking blood is very triggering for me, personally. The entire staff has always been helpful and kind. One lady also offered me juice. I so appreciate this clinic and appreciate their intake staff, front desk, and my personal physician. Also their pharmacy is reasonably priced, and they are kind as well. Thank you so much, Minnie Jones!
Experiencia negativa: Pharmacy here is horrible. The guy that helped me seem very nonchalant and couldn’t care less that I waited over two hours due their “miscommunication”. Even told me I don’t have to come here if I don’t want to. Seemed like he couldn’t care less about the reputation of the pharmacy.
Experiencia negativa: Lif i could give less stars i would this place is a joke they never answer the phone, never call back like they should, and done sdo the proper test
Experiencia positiva: I've been a patient there for many years, and I thank God that I've been blessed to have had doctors and practitioners that had my best interest in providing care.
Experiencia negativa: Missing work due to trigeminal neuralgia pain that is kept subdued through medication. I was told that I'd need to come in for an appointment before having my prescriptions filled, annoying but alright. Stretched my meds to make it to that date. Went to my appointment and my script was never sent in. A day later and I'm getting no answers as to when. So now, on top of lost wages, I'll be paying for an ER Visit to deal with pain that my generic meds would've kept at bay. Eta: so now I'm being told that tomorrow is when I'll hear back. Insanity.
Experiencia fantástica: These folks have been good to the people we serve both times I have been here. Kind, caring, compassionate people
Experiencia negativa: Rude employees they don’t care about you at all don’t get fooled by their smiles
Experiencia fantástica: i went there 08/02/2023 for a lose tooth in the socket i had hillary Garrison and she was a expert at pulling teeth she did a great job im so thankful for her work
Experiencia positiva: I had a good experience with the doctors and the nurses, but the people at the front desk are incredibly unprofessional and rude. I've been laughed at and interrupted while talking to the people at the front desk, and have been treated poorly. The actual health care professionals are great though, I just wish they would get better receptionists. It gives off a poor first impression, especially to new patients.
Experiencia negativa: Good doctors, but the pharmacy pick up location has a few rude employees and their supervisors too. There is a serious trust issue with this office. There is no need for that at this place.
Experiencia fantástica: If I could give more stars, I would!! I went in for an impacted wisdom tooth, and I received the very best treatment from start to finish. I was there from 6am- 9:00am, and they weren’t even open until 7:30, so the whole thing happened really fast. I got the extraction and was on my way!! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone needing any dental work done. Their medical services look just as good!! I’m very glad I chose WNCCHS as the place to get the help I needed!!
Experiencia fantástica: Kuddos to Dr Metcalf She is the best!! Feel so fortunate to have her as my dentist!! Thank you so much Dr metcalf!! Bruce linton Black mountain
Experiencia negativa: Although this facility has previously been very well managed and dependable, just as of fairly recently this facility, it's management, it's efficiency, it's dependability, and the competency of it's employees has completely took a nose dive!!!! Whatever has changed is sorely affecting the quality, service, and effectiveness of this once reliable organization in an extremely negative way in every aspect!
Experiencia fantástica: The security guard was a bit grumpy, But otherwise I had a wonderful experience. I will definitely return here.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone in this place is extremely nice and welcoming and made me feel like they are here to help me and not like you are here to bother them
Experiencia negativa: My experience here is mixed. It can be hella difficult to get an appointment. The front office and phone staff seem not to know anything about anyching. Honestly on multiple occasions I've been sent in circles where I tell 3 different people on the phone my name and birthdate and each person tells me they dont know why I was transferred to them. Last year I called about something specific, they made an appointment for me. I came in a few weeks later and when I finally saw the nurse she said they dont see my medical thing and she advised me to go elsewhere! I like and appreciate doctor Fuller. They are kind and attentive. I wish the desk folks who work here were helpful, friendly and supportive.
Experiencia fantástica: Just dropped off a friend who swears by services received at "Minnie Jones"
Experiencia fantástica: Took my mother there because they are the only people that were willing to take her and had the best care out of all the facilities I have seen. They get a five star from me.
Experiencia fantástica: I've been going here since I was little and the staff is very nice. It's very accessible with Spanish translators. The bottom is a normal doctor office, the top is the dentists. They take walk ins, you just have to get there early. The wait isn't too long and you don't spend much time there at all. I can't talk about the price as I have insurance but with the number of people here, I'd assume it's affordable.
Experiencia fantástica: They care about how you feel how you think, amazing people
Experiencia fantástica: THIS PLACE AND ALL OF THE STAFF ARE SO WELCOMING AND SO HELPFUL TO OUR COMMUNITY! They literally saved me in my time of need and extreme pain with no insurance. Please if u go there MAKE SURE 2 do the survey they send u bc its how this state funded facility gets grants n helps ppl like myself with no insurance or low income. THANKS AGAIN ALL OF YOU AT MINNIE JONES ❤
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful, professional, and passionate to patients!
Experiencia fantástica: I took a friend, very clean and nice employees.
Experiencia negativa: A call was placed by Dr James Holbrook asst to my phone-I had called earlier & asked the receptionist to convey to the doctors asst that I had a sobering & immediate malady of extreme weakness from what I believe was connected with my HIV-when I answered she continued to laugh for the duration of @ least 10 seconds or so-intimating that she was initiating my concerns in a comedic light hearted manner-what is going on there I do not know-but the earth I’m from, one doesn’t begin to resolve a serious medical circumstance with a care free humor she chose to extend to me- who is this lady???Not good! Whatsoever-
Experiencia fantástica: Great Healthcare for low income people like me
Experiencia positiva: These are great folks! Door attendants need to try and listen better.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Mary Scott- Hayes is awesome. Also, excellent dental clinic.
Experiencia positiva: At front desk I told them I was there for my 10:00 appointment. Then at 10:15 I went up to the front desk to see if she was running late and the woman said the appointment was at 10:15. This is not good for customer service...
Experiencia negativa: Wonderful providers, but not set up with the infrastructure to give care to patients who are chronically ill or disabled. I'm glad you had a good experience. I have spent over 4 hours since yesterday trying to get in touch with the "right person" at Minnie Jones. I see Dr Fuller there who's one of the best doctors I've ever had. Also, I'm seeing a gastroenterologist, nephrologist and endocrinologist, as well as having scans and labs done. I was trying to get an appointment with my doctor to discuss all of this since specialists only look at their specific part of a patient and I have a lot of systems involved in my illness. There are no open appointments to see Dr Fuller for the next 2+ months. I hate this. There's no direct dial lines or emails or even a patient portal. When the specialists ask me which labs were out of range I have no idea, because no one gave me a copy of my labs and I have no way to access them. I've had 6 different call backs from Minnie Jones in two days. (They can't transfer you and there's no voicemail.) They have all started with me picking up the phone and saying "hello this is Kara" and then the person on the other line saying "I'm calling from Minnie Jones Health Clinic." I don't say anything because I'm waiting for them to tell me why they're calling. Is it to schedule the endoscopy, the ultrasound, to get me on a waitlist, so maybe I can see my doctor sooner, is it to help me try and get 2 ultrasound appointments rolled into one, so I have a $500 co-pay vs a $1000 co-pay.???That's what I've been trying to get them to do for the last 2 days. Minnie Jones is overtly understaffed and they have no infrastructure. People don't even identify which department they're from when they return phone calls. How am I supposed to know which of the 4 things I'm trying to get done they are able to help me with. Sometimes, they transfer me, sometimes they "accidentally" hang up on me, sometimes, they flat out admit that they don't know what I'm talking about and have no idea how to help me. I have a great doctor there, but I don't have access to that great doctor until May or June because they're so busy. What's the point of going to all these specialists if there's no one to follow up with?
Experiencia fantástica: A good place 2 b. But the folk who check u need some more trainun
Experiencia negativa: I am new to Asheville ' and needed a pcp. I was appointed "lucy"' a nurse practitioner there. She yelled at me in the exam room and basically made me feel unwanted as a patient. Nurses have a creed, and she did not express or obey that creed..I am STILL sick.. Lena Evette Thompson
Experiencia fantástica: Yes you have a wait time but for 5 years I have had better care here than any place I have been in the past. They truly care about people and the community. Amazing people doing amazing work.
Experiencia fantástica: So sad to see people posting such negative reviews about Minnie Jones. As a health care worker who utilized Minnie Jones when I wasn't able to afford health insurance, the doctors I had were wonderful and thorough (better than standard care) and the dental care was top notch. I am SO grateful to Minnie Jones services and their employees for serving our community.
Experiencia negativa: The wait takes forever, the girls upfront will ignore you and talk about there outfit that they have on. I can't stand this place
Experiencia fantástica: Good dr's and good service. Found my cancer when it was very very small. The made my appointments. Now I'm cancer free..
Experiencia fantástica: Fast friendly service. Great service to our community.
Experiencia fantástica: I love Dr farentelley... If you are a woman looking for a very helpful strong careing Dr. She is the one!
Experiencia fantástica: Doctors very nice. Helpful with referrals when needed.
Experiencia fantástica: My primary doctor is there. Would not go anywhere else
Experiencia negativa: They don't care. Do not go here if you experience chronic illness. Multiple friends of mine who have gone here have been refused tests and treatment for their chronic illnesses and pain, being told point blank to just opt for alternative medicine like yoga or eat less carbs instead. They told me to drink more water as the only offer of treatment for my arthritis. My partner has been fainting everyday for years, with severe drops in blood pressure, chronic headaches, and IBS. WNCCHS refused to do anything but blood tests, and said that they didn't have access to any other form of tests. Speaking to other doctors, they immediately did CT scans, put her on a heart monitor, and changed the dose of her medications.
Experiencia fantástica: Help folks no matter. They are great .
Experiencia fantástica: There's doctors here working on their on dime, so you have to applaud the effort.
Experiencia fantástica: Reception that you get when you get to the front desk the attitudes have gone away
Experiencia negativa: Worst, don’t go here save up time and money and pay for dental work somewhere else. I’ve wasted so Much time with them.
Experiencia fantástica: I just had appt yesterday. L. Pippen, and the staff were very nice and welcoming. The lab personnel were Awesome too. Thanks to all of you for being here in the community and all you do .
Experiencia positiva: Great service and the staff are friendly and helpful. They also are very representative of the community they serve!
Experiencia fantástica: This place is great! I love how LGBTQIA+ friendly this clinic is. Lauren Pippin has been AWESOME! She took the time to listen to my concerns, explained things in ways I could understand, made me feel like an active participant in my healthcare, displayed a genuine interest in my well-being, knows her stuff, and was determined to figure out what has been wrong with me. I truly appreciate this place and the people who work here. I will miss them when I move!
Experiencia negativa: Treated poorly because the assistant at the door had no sense of humor and was saying that I had the Covid-19 variant
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome staff !!! very friendly kind, and helpful.. i have been a loyal patient for over a decade.
Experiencia negativa: Rude employees. Second time they got me mixed up with someone else and blamed it on me. Very horrible place to go to when you’re sick . You’re not treated with care at all.
Experiencia positiva: My Dr doesn't care about me. He rushes everything
Experiencia negativa: This clinic is the worst medical care I have received from any clinic I've yet been to including clinics in GA, TX, and PA. Here at WNC you aren't a person, you're just a number. If you call you never reach anyone except receptionists, you can't ever get a hold of your doctor or nurse practitioner, and nobody at the clinic ever seems to know what's going on with regards to billing/payment information. If you need medical care and you have an alternative go with the alternative. WNC is trash.
Experiencia fantástica: If it weren't for WNCCHS I couldn't afford a doctor nor my medication. I work full time at a company that does not offer any insurance.
Experiencia negativa: Rude employees.. I don’t know how are people like that working in a medical center.. with poor conditions
Experiencia fantástica: I love my Dr. Allison Fuller! Kind, courteous, and a good listener.
Experiencia negativa: Something changed here and it wasn't for the better. I have followed my practitioner to 3 different offices with this being her final location. Due to the rudeness of the medical support staff when they call I am seriously thinking if switching to another practice and losing my doctor of 16 years. The doctors are great. The dentists are great. However it isn't worth dealing with rude medical assistants and front desk staff who don't listen.
Experiencia fantástica: Got my first shot of Moderna Vaccine.
Experiencia fantástica: I can't articulate how incredible these people are! Wow! They treated me like a V.P. The most professional and intelligent people I've met in a medical setting. HIGHLY recommended!!!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Really great place the Suboxine Treatment Program is great ..and Amillia is awesome at what she does and she cares and listen to uiu..
Experiencia fantástica: Caring, compassionàte, reasonable prices. They offer services that a lot of people couldn't otherwise afford.
