Negative experience: Charged $200 for just an X-ray was told I had 6 cavities total cost would be almost $4k for fillings and cleaning. Went to another dentist I only had 1 cavity and he actually noticed my chipped tooth I had as a child and there would be a need to repair . Don’t get scammed . This exam clearly shows he doesn’t have cavities. Calling the bbb.

Negative experience: Update: It's only been a little over 2 years and one of the crowns they gave me (that I likely didn't need) lifted and got infected, requiring me to get a root canal. My dentist is also watching the other crown because it too was not done well please avoid these people at all costs. Original review: I'm really not sure how they have so many high reviews as I don't believe they are conducting business honestly. I was told that I needed thousands of dollars of dental work. Thankfully, I didn't do all of it, however I did start some and was told that my insurance would cover half. My insurance decided not to cover any of it, as they said the work was not necessary. Even after the dentist office resubmitted the claim, the insurance only paid out less than $127 vs the thousands I paid, still choosing not to cover majority of the work. I did see another dentist for my next cleaning, and lo and behold I did not need any of the other work that they claimed, with the exception of 2 fillings. Given this, and the refusal of my insurance to cover, I highly doubt I needed the work that was done as well. It's a shame that we cannot trust our service providers. Lesson learned. Hopefully, I can help someone else avoid this headache.

Negative experience: Majorly disappointed with this location and the dentist here. Just called to realize that my patient status was made “inactive” without my permission and I am basically no longer allowed to book appointment and have services at this facility by Zerita Buchanan. This came as a surprise, as I attempted to book 3 appointments and each had been canceled without notifying me simply because I requested X-rays of my teeth to share with my school after going through a pricey whitening treatment. My school is able to have dental procedures covered with pictures from a dental visit, such as X-rays. Somehow, this is an “irreversible” action according to the individual I spoke with that was made without confirmation and clarification from this clinic. What is even more shocking to me is that I am no longer allowed to simply talk about this with anyone of authority or Zerita Buchanan at this facility to dispute this, as if I had been “banned” and had done wrong in this facility. How strange? No dentist has ever done this before, and even then, they would be willing to talk with any patient about this or send a letter in the mail, especially if it cannot be undone.

I was set on getting veneers, but after a thoughtful consultation and personalized dental plan, she helped me see a better path. Her restorative work on my most visible teeth gave me my smile (and confidence) back. She explained every step and made sure we got it right together. Positive experience: I wanted to support a black business. I only had one visit. The people were very friendly and professional. I didn't move forward with a treatment plan because the quote was extremely high. I went back to my white dentist who's quote is 3x less.

Negative experience: As several other reviewers mentioned, Dr. Zerita Buchanan seems to recommend services that are usually not necessary, highly expensive, and are not covered by insurance. She suggested I spend thousands of dollars here, something no other dentists have ever told or recommended me. In addition, I can clearly observe many of the high-rated reviews here come from prior connections, family members, and family friends/associates. This is important to consider when thinking of the validity of experiences and potential bias. While I respect her professionalism, the customer service could improve in my experiences, especially in terms of communication and accessibility of the dentist. This creates an environment of skepticism regarding reliability and trustworthiness when coming here. Furthermore, I fail to understand why they keep the door locked during operating hours when customers need to come in.

Negative experience: Visit another dental office. When I came in they told me I only was responsible for my copay. They provided me with X-rays and I declined their cleaning services because they were trying to charge me $1,000+. This was after my insurance was applied. Some how I end up with a $200 bill and all I got done was X-rays. All x rays are supposed to be charged to my insurance but they did extra things that was not covered and didn’t ask me first.

Negative experience: The communication I received in regards to my appointment was VERY inconvenient. I initially scheduled my appt a week in advance & because I did not have insurance, I inquired about the cost of my visit & was informed that it wouldn't be one but was prepared to pay something anyway. I then received a phone call 2 hours prior to my appt for them to give me a price & said my insurance was invalid. The reception was informed that I had already told her that during the initial call. No big deal. I arrive 5 mins before my appt & the receptionist called me in which I told her I was getting ready to walk in. Because I indicated that I had COVID-19 in 2021, they REQUIRE that I have something that shows I am negative in 2023?? That is completely absurd! Did I get seen? No.. completely wasted my time, gas, & time off work. Am I rescheduling? No, thank you. Dr. Buchanan is wonderful & my experiences used to be really great. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement.

Negative experience: Very disappointed… They call 10 mins before your appointment to tell you to complete the forms from a text message. That was so annoying trying to drive and complete forms . Then once I get to the office I find out I have to pay out of pocket because this office is out of network with ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES. This should be told to patients while scheduling. This was my experience, so if you choose this office be sure to ask all questions while scheduling so that you’re not taken off guard like I was .

I have had the pleasure of getting my teeth cleaned by her and have been very satisfied. I recently visited and Ms. Ashley was my cleaning specialist. Listen to me, when I say, Ms. Ashley is in there representing Dental Dreams to the fullest. You can’t tell me I didn’t get my teeth whitened, lol. An awesome job!
