I have a serious health concern at the moment, and that was taken into consideration and helpful advice was given for my oral health during treatment. Negative experience: I’m very pleased with my hygienist but extremely disappointed with the receptionist for wanting to charge me for a replacement crown without even knowing what’s going on inside my mouth and wanting me to sign paperwork for the charge. My dentist didn’t even get a chance to look at my mouth.

Fantastic experience: I was researching my best options to improve not only the appearance of my smile but my oral health as a whole. I am more than happy with my decision to go to The Studio. From the start I was welcomed by a friendly staff. The technology used to map my entire mouth was amazing. Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient of Flanders Dental Studio for the past 20 years, with a few exceptions while I lived in other parts of the northeast. Dr. Daren, Dr. Mastrota, and her hygienists have provided the best dental care I’ve ever received. I would often book appointments when I returned to town to visit family because, after trying several other dental offices, I knew they could not compare to this one. For example, other dental offices might spend less than a half-hour for a regular cleaning, while Flanders Dental Studio is much more thorough, spending nearly an hour on you. For more intensive appointments (chipped teeth, implants, overlays, fillings, etc.), Flanders Dental Studio gets the job done right, while other places I’ve gone to have required follow-ups to fix mistakes or imperfections. The hygienists at Flanders Dental Studio (shoutout to Ellen) could very well be medical scholars; they’ll teach you the best habits. Lastly, I think Flanders Dental Studio’s equipment (x-ray equipment, scanners, etc.) is more up to date than other dental offices. It was bittersweet to see Dr. Daren retire several years ago, but Dr. Mastrota has an eagle eye and brings exceptional quality to her work. She listens to all of my concerns (even for the tiniest chip in a tooth), and she finds smart ways to address them and make me a happy patient. For what it’s worth, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know her over the past few years, too. My smile receives compliments weekly. Thank you, Flanders Dental Studio.

Fantastic experience: I have lived in Connecticut for almost 3 years now and I can honestly say that Flander’s in East Lyme provided the best dental care I have ever experienced in my life. The staff are beyond professional, courteous, and inviting. Dr. Mastrota is extremely knowledgeable. I wouldn’t consider trusting my teeth with anyone else. Anyone who gives this office a bad review probably brought it upon themselves. If I could give a million stars, I’d give Flander’s a million and one!

Negative experience: Worst dental experience I've had in 40 years. They refused to clean my teeth without a full, individual tooth x-ray. When I told them I'm out of network and couldn't afford it, they sent me home. I will be filling out official complaints to the BBB and ADA.

Negative experience: I arrived for the first appointment of the day. 3 people in waiting room and no staff at the desk. Just came for a cleaning. Ended up with unnecessary extras and a 602 bill! Will not be returning for future service.

Fantastic experience: To start with, the office staff is welcoming and express genuine care about you. Second, I’ve had my cleaning now done twice with the same hygienist. I’m sorely bad at remembering names, sorry, She did a thorough job and is just the right amount of friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable. Third, Dr. Mastrota remedied a problem I had for a long while where a small cavity had formed under a crown near my gum line. She thoroughly discussed my options and we came up with a great solution that had risk, but I felt comfortable with. It worked out perfectly, saved me from tooth removal and successive implant. Thanks Dr. Mastrota! I have been going here for about 10 years loved the care Dr. Darren provided and am very glad Dr. Mastrota has picked up the ball and is following with the same great care and competence.

Fantastic experience: I have been fortune enough to have had all my dental needs taken care of by my doctor and friend, Dr Daren, for over 30 years. She has recently added a second doctor to the practice. Dr Mastrota is a very excellent clinician with great experience and expertise. Fantastic experience: Had an appointment to get a temporary crown with Dr Daren. She was assisted by Pat. Did not feel the novocaine needle at all since she anesthetized the area first. No pain whatsoever while she was drilling out my old filling and preparing the tooth. The massage chair kept me relaxed during the procedure. Dr Daren explained everything she was doing, and she and Pat made me feel at ease and comfortable during the whole hour-long appointment.

Fantastic experience: Thorough tooth and gum examination with integrated software to monitor mouth conditions over time. Friendly staff who is also happy to answer patient questions. I noticed each room had small particle air purifier. Recommended.
