Fantastic experience: Smile Montana saved me…. Again!!! This is the second time I have been home visiting and had a “dental emergency”. Smile Montana is so amazing. I wish I could come home every six months so I could make them my regular dentist. The new Kalispell office is beautiful. It is clean, calm, well thought out and all of the staff are kind and welcoming. Zoey was very attentive, like a VIP concierge style of attentive, to make sure I was comfortable and cared for throughout my visit, while assisting Dr. Miller. And Dr. Miller not only resolved pain I was having today but identified a permanent fix that my dentist back east seems to have been missing. I am really looking forward to the long-term relief and appreciate the staff getting me in and the care I received. If you’re reading this because you are narrowing down which dentist to choose, you can stop now, Smile Montana is the best I’ve been to in my 48 years of life.

Fantastic experience: Great job by Dr. Miller and assistant Ian. New crown on a molar and small cavity filled on another tooth. All done in one session and pain free!

Fantastic experience: I just saw the hygienist, Molly. She was friendly and helpful, and Dr. Hillary Hoffenbacker was the same, very friendly and upbeat. The office staff were efficient and helpful too. I'm glad I go to Smile MT.

Negative experience: I quickly remembered why I never came back to this place. Scandalous business practices. The dental assistant was nice but that’s it. The dentist (I won’t put her name) is arrogant and uncaring to the patients pain or overall dental health. If you’re looking for a dentist that cares, Smile dental is not it. Also “Urgent” is a complete joke. No urgency whatsoever. The “dentist” doesn’t feel comfortable doing extractions herself but wants the patient to be confident that she can handle a root canal and crown without it failing.

Fantastic experience: Smile Montana has been the best choice to bring my mom for her dental needs. They were extremely accommodating with her progressing dementia needs walking her through every step with great patience and understanding. I highly recommend this office for good quality, friendly care.

Negative experience: By far, kalispell smile was the worst office I’ve been to. I sat waiting for a procedure for 30 minutes, the whole time watching the dentist sit on his phone. Once he got to me he didn’t do a checkup or see what the problem is. instead told me I had to reschedule.

Fantastic experience: Always friendly and do a thorough job. I have been going to them for more than a decade and have loved their service and flexibility of 3 locations!

Negative experience: I'd like to start this off with saying that the staff is lovely and very considerate. However, I received subpar care and my veneers (done in Whitefish, the rest was in Kalispell), fillings (which I've never had a problem feeling them in my teeth when I got dental work done other places, but now I can feel them) and crown work (which I wish I just went with a filling because it looks like a toy tooth and now that it's been a few months I can feel that it doesn't fit or look right, it was not worth what my insurance paid), all cause me severe pain. I cry and have to medicate myself daily to prevent myself from pulling them out or doing worse to myself due to the PTSD and extreme anxiety I now have from this dental company. I can say I will be cancelling my appointment, and firmly never ever be coming back to this place. You can't get me in soon enough anyway and I'm in pain NOW. I will be going elsewhere to get my teeth fixed especially after hearing about their lack of quality of care from other dental institutions. I've been doing everything I can to take care of my teeth because of my depression, but ever since I've gone to Smile my problems have only gotten worse. *Edit to reply*- Hi again, I appreciate your response. However, I've said what I needed to in my review, and I do not wish to discuss it further or return whatsoever. Thank you and I hope you guys have a nice week. *Thanks for making getting my records transferred easy.* **Dec, 2025- I have found that unfortunately, basically the only teeth I have severe problems with, are only ones that Smile dental has worked on. I feel basically at this point my insurance was overcharged for subpar work, that has done more harm than good, compared to had I gone elsewhere. If I could take back every operation and appointment I've done with them, I would do it in an instant. I just hate my teeth now, and my dental PTSD gets worse every single day. It just isn't worth it.

Fantastic experience: The dental hygienist is very thorough when taking X-rays and cleaning your teeth. The dentist comes in after the cleaning and ask questions and does a cancer check and then the final dental exam. The dentist and hygienist are very pleasant. Everyone in the office is very nice.

She's quick, kind, smart, listens and cares. I also appreciate the way she handles her approach to dental care, that not everything requires getting drilled into right away. The dentist has always made me nervous as someone who deals with mental health! And this office takes all that fear away! I know I will be taken care of and listened to! Negative experience: double charged for evaluation the assistant took xrays of the wrong tooth. poor hygienic practices. Noone wore hair coverage. got the job done just had to pay too much ...hope they did it right. i suggest looking for a different dental facility

Fantastic experience: While visiting in Montana, a family member had a dental emergency and we walked in the doors of Smile Montana Urgent Dental Center in Kalispell and they got her in immediately! Wow! Talk about customer service! They were not able to do the procedure but they did call around and got us in at another place.

We both have been seeing Dr. Hoffenbacker and Dr. Smith. They both are so professional! We dont even feel the shots. They made us feel very comfortable and explains everything very well. Fantastic experience: I usually get my cleanings in Whitefish because that's where the hygienist I prefer is, but I needed to get a 2nd cleaning in for the year and she was booked out. I was able to schedule a last min cancelation same day at the Kalispell office and it was very inviting! Sophie was incredibly personable and great to talk to. She was quick too! Which I was all for! Dr. Hoffenbacker was also extremely friendly. I have seen Dr. Miller and Jacobsen for some fillings and they are both great...I just prefer a female dentist due to my personal comfort. If I ever need a filling, I will 100% go back to see Dr. H Thank you for making me feel welcome and not just like a number!

Fantastic experience: Setting the appointment for a cleaning is simple but note the appointments for cleanings are booked far in advance so call sooner rather than later. If you are in pain or need of getting a crown put back on they work hard to get you in at one of the 3 offices next day. Receptionists and billing are polite and work to be helpful. My DH, Sophie, was professional, bright, friendly, and very helpful and informative.

Fantastic experience: I called them to schedule an emergency appointment due to severe pain I have been having in my jaw. Their team was able to schedule me for the same day, and they gave me a call telling me to come in earlier if I wanted! Brittany and Dr. Ivy worked with proper haste and efficiency, and they were so pleasant they made me laugh while I was in pain. I absolutely recommend anyone go here to deal with tooth pain or dental work, especially in emergency

Smile ended up getting me in fast which is why I chose them and I’m so glad I did! My cleaning was pretty close to pain-free and it was the first time I haven’t felt shamed going into the dentist! They were super friendly, set me up for some other work I need to have done and seemed more affordable than what I was expecting! I highly recommend them!
