Fantastic experience: I gladly drive 40min - 1hr to come here from Monterey because the service and care they give me is worth it. I have had horror story after horror story from other dental places. This place is different. The front staff is polite, the dentists, assists and hygienists are caring and considerate of my fear of density and explained everything they will/were doing. They listen to your concerns. They recommended I either remove my wisdom teeth or get other work done (fill in cavities & crown work)- I said the latter and I got zero push back! At another dental place they were pushing me to get my wisdom teeth removed even though I said I was not having trouble with them yet. I still am not. Anyways I am shocked Cochrane Plaza Dental Care respected my decision with zero push back. I am in awe every time I come. Thank you for making teeth care and health accessible to a scaredy cat like me. :].

Negative experience: Had a disappointing experience with this office regarding a cavity that worsened due to lack of follow-up. I initially sent in X-rays and went in for an exam, clearly identifying the tooth of concern. At that time, I was told no filling was needed. After that visit, I made multiple attempts to follow up by phone and email (with confirmation that my information was received), but I never received a response. Over the next three months, the cavity progressed from a one-surface issue to a two-surface cavity, now requiring more extensive and costly treatment. I understand that dental conditions can change, but the lack of communication and follow-up made it impossible to address the issue earlier. I hope the office improves responsiveness so other patients don’t experience similar delays.

Negative experience: The dental hygienists who clean teeth tend to come and go from this practice. The hygienist I had recently was new. My dental cleaning was not thorough. In fact, I can’t even tell that my teeth were cleaned. I’m reluctant to return to this practice. Good cleanings are really important to me.

Fantastic experience: I was home in South County visiting family from an overseas assignment and lost a tooth. Not wanting to show up at the family reunion without my best smile I called to see if they could accommodate me on short notice and provide a partial denture for me. They completely exceeded expectations and provided a wonderful product in a short timeframe.

I went in for a denture replacement, and both Dr. Ghuman and Dr. Kaur took the time to clearly explain all of my options, including the pros and cons of dentures vs. implants, along with the associated costs. And were able to get me into their oral surgeon the same week. I was treated with the utmost respect and kindness. We have since made this office our family dentist. Negative experience: They filled a shallow cavity for me early June. As soon as the numbing wore off, I felt pain in that tooth (#14). I went back to the other dentist here to ask for advice to which I was told the tooth was infected and needed a root canal. Really? The tooth you guys told me needed a very shallow filling is now suddenly, 2 days later, infected? I went and saw the original dentist who did my filling here, and she told me it was not infected and the pain I was feeling was due to my braces moving my teeth. I was skeptical as the pain is nothing like my braces pain — it’s a deep, dull pain that throbs off and on. I’ve been in pain in tooth #14 for over a month now. It’s constant. It’s now July 7th and I’m seeing a root canal specialist tomorrow. Incompetent dentists who clearly are not on the same page, at least one of which should not be doing basic fillings. Cochrane Plaza Dental Care turned a shallow filling on an otherwise healthy tooth into a $2,000 procedure. EDIT: $2,700 later, the root canal is done. Working with Cochrane to at least get the filling they botched refunded. Inserted photo from endodontist who explained that the “shallow” filling Dr. Patel did was NOT shallow and was rubbing against a nerve. Btw, Cochrane, I don’t appreciate your AI generated response.

Fantastic experience: I’m a patient for at least 7 or 8 years. Yesterday I had a cleaning from Christie and my teeth look whitest I can ever remember! She also made my X-rays more comfortable by polishing my teeth with a numbing agent first. Easiest X-rays ever and I have a toray bone that makes X-rays very uncomfortable. Over the years Dr Ghuman redid a wing bridge that looks very natural and good color match, and with totally non-toxic materials. I’ve also had amalgams replaced and just recently an old crown replaced. I am a fluoride free person and the office is very accommodating. The staff is friendly, caring and very skillful. I highly recommend Cochrane Dental Plaza.

Positive experience: I called in asking if they accept my insurance and they said they did. On the day of the arrival, I found out they didn't after some prodding. Luckily, they decided to cut the bill in half so I could get my teeth cleaned. Unfortunately, deciding to go with the appointment was a decision I sort of regretted after meeting the x-ray technician. The x-ray technician repeatedly poked my healing ulcer on the left side of my mouth and loudly complained about not being able to stick the film in further until another person stepped in. I also watched the clock and it took her 25 minutes just to get my x-rays because she kept on messing up the shots. It could be possible that she was new or that she was having a bad day, but the impression she gave me played a major factor in my decision to not continue services with the in-house dental plan, despite the dentist being able to find two cavities that the previous dentist most likely missed. Aside from that one individual, the rest of the dental team was friendly and professional. The dental hygienist William did a thorough job cleaning my teeth and Jaswinder Ghuman DDS found some cavities in the back tooth. Needless to say, I do not feel comfortable coming back to fill the cavity and will be finding another dentist to do the job.

Negative experience: I've lived in Morgan Hill since 2005. Was about time to get a local dentist so I came in as a new patient and did two cleanings. The hygienist was great. Recommended that I take my wisdom teeth out. Even though my wisdom teeth are not bothering me at all, I have gotten mixed feedback in the past on whether or not to actually take them out. I'm always wary when a new dentist says they need to be taken out now. But I say OK, I have heard this before so why not do it now if I need it. They schedule my next cleaning and tell me that a followup call to schedule the wisdom teeth extraction will be coming. Well, I don't know if it ever did. Because instead I got dozens of calls per day for at least 6 months from dental insurance salesmen. When did I ever say I needed supplemental dental insurance? My phone was bombarded with so many of these calls I couldn't pick up any of my incoming calls for a long time. So because of that, I'm going somewhere else. Huge inconvenience. I would not recommend this office.

The office is so stylish and clean. And the new technology - wow! Over 10 years of experience and it shows. I can't speak to any dental work for I was just in for an exam and cleaning, but when the time comes that I need work done, Cochrane Plaza Dental Care is the only place in town I will go. I took my daughter four years back for wisdom tooth extraction and they did excellent work. Recently, I took my son for same issue and they are professional at work providing excellent care and answering all my questions very knowledgeable team.

Fantastic experience: Appreciate very much Dr Guhman's work, attention to detail and insuring I'm happy before I leave the office. Recently had a root canal and crown procedure that I was scared to get. Staff and Dr made me feel comfortable and the experience was much less than I had imagined. My mom, husband and I have been going to both their San Jose and Morgan Hill office for several years now and have referred them to friends, family and nextdoor. Can't beat their hours and days of availability too.

Negative experience: It was the first time I’d been to Cochrane Dental (and the last time). Dr Toy was the one who told me he could remove my wisdom teeth before they’d erupt, he said it would be better to “get it out of the way before severe pain” which sounded suspicious. I told him I had barley felt any tenderness in my mouth but he insisted it would be a smart decision, however he made it seem like there was no pressure in doing the procedure right away. It was completely up to me if I wanted to go into surgery for my wisdom teeth to be removed before they’ve erupted. After he finished my check up, the front receptionist RITA came up to me trying to pressure me into doing the procedure as soon as next week which I thought was very odd because I’ve never gotten any recommendation like this from my prior dentist. I told her I’d want to think about it longer and talk to my mom before making an appointment right away. She then told me that I was over the age of 18 and that I didn’t need my mother to make my appointments for me, which was not what I implied and very condescending of her to say. I’m 19 and I knew doing surgery on my mouth was gonna be expensive and my mother was going to ultimately help me out with the payment, which is obviously why I wanted her opinion before making my next appointment. She had very predatory behavior telling me I didn’t need my mother to make my decisions for me, (crazy) then charged my sister for a fill she’d gotten that was already taken care of by my mothers insurance from her last appointment, in which my mother WAS THERE. They saw us without our parent for the first time and took advantage of that, these people don’t care about our bodies and are MONEY HUNGRY. Without thinking I pre paid for a next appointment to replace a filler that was broken and when I got home and told my mom she said we wouldn’t be going back there and to get a refund right away. I called 3 times to get a refund and the first 2 times I called they never got back to me like they said they would (they never would’ve if I didn’t stop harassing them for my refund), when I told them I was willing to go back there just to get my money they did a refund transaction over the phone which is what they should’ve done the first time. The same thing happened to my sister after realizing they charged her for an “outstanding payment” that was already taken care of. You guys are gross and my mother and I will be reporting you to the dental board. Predatory behavior talking young people into doing surgery, willing to harm people’s bodies just for money then overcharging them on top of that. Which you’ve clearly shown you guys are capable of doing. You shouldn't be working in dentistry at all you guys are scammers.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency the other day and went to my dental office to have it looked at but they couldn't or wouldn't help me. I found Cochrane Plaza Dental and they were amazing! I was in a great deal of pain and they were very empathetic and understanding and sat down with me to go over what they could do. Long story short, I was treated and taken out of pain and for that I am truly thankful. These are good people who generally care about their patients, and in this case, a man who is NOT a patient of theirs but was treated like a human being in need of help. Cannot thank you folks more for what you did for me in this emergency scenario.

I called for an emergency that i had pain on my teeth, they gave me an appt that best fit my schedule without hesitation. The second I walked in, receptionist girls super friendly and nice, they acknowledge me by my name (without having an idea who i was). I waited 5 minutes the most till they took me back. The xray technician was wonderful! Explained everything in detail. The best for last, Dr. Patel. Ive never met a professional like Dr. Patel, from the start , she made me feel welcomed, explained in detail about the process and treatment i needed, the exam was gentle, she made sure i didnt feel more pain that i had already.
