Fantastic experience: Great customer service when scheduling appointment. It is nice to get forms emailed before appointments to fill out and text reminders of appointments. The entire staff was quick and kid friendly. It was clean and professional. The waiting area has a play area. It was my son’s 1st dentist appointment and it went great! Thank you!

Negative experience: I rarely leave negative reviews, but after two years of dealing with the same issues, I feel that I need to share my experience. Every single appointment my son has had has been canceled or rescheduled by the office, never by us. The most recent appointment was canceled the morning of the visit, and the only solution offered was to schedule another appointment three months later. As a parent, this is incredibly frustrating. Children’s dental care is important, and families arrange work schedules, school schedules, and transportation around these appointments. Constant cancellations show a complete lack of consideration for patients and their families. Another concern is the constant turnover among the office staff. It seems as though there are always new employees, which only adds to the confusion and lack of consistency. I understand that emergencies and scheduling conflicts happen from time to time, but after two years of the same experience, it’s difficult to see this as anything other than poor management. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this office.

Fantastic experience: I love this dentist office for my son. He had to get his tooth taken out. I was so sad for him. It was a quick procedure but I'm a mom and I've gotten my tooth taken out and it isn't an easy process. My son was okay after and he's well now. He's saying he doesn't want to go back to the dentist but he has to go soon again. I just pray that the doctor fix my son's teeth and my son does great and he doesn't have to go through this. He's only 9 years of age. I feel so sorry and bad.

There are offices closer to home for us, but our first experience in Coralville was so great, I’ll happily continue making the drive to their office.

They come up with treatments plans and make the kids feel comfortable about the procedures if they need them! This has been our second home for a couple months while we worked around scheduling issues to make sure my boys could be fit and the have been so accommodating! I’m very appreciative of the work they have done with my family!

Negative experience: I took my kids there for years. If I could give 0 starts I would. Terrible attitudes, and even worse service. All around the worst customer service experience I have ever received was at this pediatric dental office…. If you care about your kids and their teeth, take them to the Children’s Dental Center. More toys & things for the kids. Barely ever any wait time in the lobby. The receptionists as well as hygienists are all saints. The most kind staff, easily accommodating to any deviations in schedule. Also the hygienists, receptionists, dentists seem to never leave! Truly feels like home seeing the same faces at the office each time. Far from what we experienced at the pediatric dental center! While I could not think of a place I’d recommend less than the pediatric dental center, it pushed us out to find our permanent pediatric dental office up the road at the children’s dental center.

Negative experience: Poor communication. My son had been seen here a few times over the past year, and those visits were fine. However, when he had a dental emergency over the weekend, I called Monday to get him in and never received a call back. I tried again on Tuesday, and the staff member I spoke with was very rude. She said she would call me back, but once again, I never heard anything. I ended up taking my son to the children’s dental center where they got him in quickly and treated us with kindness and professionalism unlike what we experienced here.

Negative experience: Our recent experience at this office was very disappointing. When we arrived, the front desk lady did not acknowledge us for nearly 10 minutes because she was on the phone. Even a brief greeting or eye contact to let us know she would be with us shortly would have been appreciated. But none. After she finished her call, I politely mentioned that I needed to return to a meeting and asked if we could move things along. Unfortunately, the interaction seemed to have made things worse. Rather than showing any understanding and trying to help, her demeanor became noticeably colder and less accommodating. She informed me that my children could not be checked in until all paperwork was completed. Although my kids have been patients at this office for over 10 years and much of our medical history should already be on file, I was asked to complete the full medical history again for both children. What was especially frustrating was that after I finished the paperwork, she took additional time to enter all the information into the system before checking us in. For a routine cleaning appointment, it seemed excessive to delay care over questions such as how we heard about the office. In total, we waited about 25 minutes just to be checked in, despite being the only patients in the office at the time. The overall interaction felt unwelcoming and unnecessarily rigid. At no point did she express any sense of urgency or courtesy, which left the impression that accommodating patients was not a priority. Because of this experience — along with the high turnover of dentists — I can no longer recommend this practice. Over the past few years, my children have seen a different dentist almost every six months. At one point last year, the office was even temporarily closed because they did not have a dentist available. The hygienists have consistently been friendly and professional, and their care is the main reason we have stayed as long as we have. However, between the constant changes in dentists and the unwelcoming front desk experience, I am seriously reconsidering whether we will continue with this office.

Negative experience: The waiting room was packed with adults and children. One chair left for me and my son had to sit on a little table. They ran a half an hour behind schedule. Second time in a row of being there with the ladies at the desk sick. The one checking us out went into telling me how sick they've been this week. The last time she made it clear she was running a temperature while coughing germs around. Why? This is a healthcare facility. Not going back. I never leave comments but this was ridiculous. The only reason leaving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the male dentist and assistant were nice.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed in the service we have been receiving. Especially today. Front staff ladies, Mina and Shari were very rude and not welcoming at all. Refusing to let my daughter be seen because paperwork wasn't completed and not helping my husband complete it when he is unable to read it. He said when he asked one of the ladies if they could help him, she took the clipboard and slammed it on the counter. And kept saying we will just have to reschedule if you cant fill out the paperwork. We have constantly been getting our appointments rescheduled. Therefore, having our daughters dental care put off because of office unable to keep scheduled appointments. How can you run a business like that? My daughter has been going there for years. It has definitely taken a downhill dive. We had already been considering leaving and finding a different reliable dentist office. Today made that decision easy. We will not be taking our daughter back there, when staff are not will to help their patients and are rude and snarky from check-in. I am currently waiting to hear from manager about this. So so disappointing and Front desk staff should be fired for attitudes. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Fantastic experience: My teenager has severe anxiety and had not seen a dentist in about 5 years. The hygienist at Pediatric Dental Center was awesome. She explained every step of the visit to my daughter with clarity and kindness. My daughter had a great experience! We scheduled our 6-month follow up without any reluctance or tears.

Fantastic experience: Safe clean space in the waiting area. Super friendly front desk lady. We went in for 2 cavity fillings and it took them 20 mins! The dentist explained everything to my 6 year old and let her touch the tools and ask questions. The dental assistant even sat there and let my indecisive daughter pick out a movie to watch. Negative experience: We had a terrible experience with Dr. Mackenie Clawson, she is NOT good with kids, and she was rough and super rude! The staff up front was very nice and super friendly but this "dr" should not be allowed to work with children she doesn't even have a pediatrics degree. Shes the worst we've ever experienced. 0/10 recommend.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. Iowa pediatric dental center has gone EXTREMELY downhill since being purchased by D4C. My children have seen a different doctor every time for the last two years due to high turnover with doctors, which is extremely disheartening when working with little kids in a high anxiety profession- no fault of the doctors I assume they are running out the door when they see how poorly this business is ran. The support staff are unfriendly do not even introduce themselves or even wear name tags so you can identify who they are. Today the hygienist Rosie (I only know her name from hearing another staff saying it) put gloves on to begin to clean my child's teeth and then realized the instruments were not powered on left the treatment area to turn on the instruments then came back and attempted to begin to clean my child's teeth without changing her gloves- this is a major OSHA violation. Rosie then proceeded to tell the hygienist that was cleaning my other sons teeth that her "op (operation) had arrived early after only spending 7 mins cleaning my child's teeth if she could watch over him until the dentist was there to review both children's teeth. Rosie did not speak to me directly or advise of how the cleaning went any problem areas to focus on or anything. Rosie did not ask if I consented to fluoride treatment during her cleaning or before she abruptly left my child in the chair. After the other hygienist was done with my older child's cleaning she asked if fluoride was okay and then called the yet again another new dentist to review the cleanings at that time the Dr was friendly and begin to exam my child's teeth and apply fluoride (that was never consented to- which I would have said yes it's the principal that I was not asked), In addition to the OSHA violation they discuss treatment and findings where other parents and patients can hear which is a violation of HIPAA rights, as well as they leave their schedules on the screen with patients names and DOB that anyone can see. I suggest no one take their children to this office, because while the things that we have experiences aren't detrimental it is only a matter of time until they are with how fast it goes downhill every time we have an appointment.

Negative experience: Was very frustrated. I could tell the care here has gone downhill since our last visit. We waited 2 hours (my daughter is 3 so she was not happy) just for them to brush her teeth and the one dentist who is there for a room of like 5 patients at once and spent one minute with my daughter looking at her teeth quick. I will never come here again after this visit. I should not have to wait 2 hours to be seen for my appointment then have one minute spent caring for my daughter. the other times i had come here previously it was great and i was in and out quickly and felt like they cared for my daughter. now it is awful.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is normally shy and reserved, but the dental assistant was fabulous and I could hear them chatting it up while she was getting her X-rays done! I was so surprised! She made her feel so at ease and they were buddies right away, something that rarely happens with my 6 year old. We laughed and had a really great time. When Dr. Anna came to see us, the visit just ended on a high note because she was also so sweet and caring! Highly recommend Iowa Pediatric Dental Center! Feeling not so worried about bringing my almost 2 year old in as I know he’s in great hands! Thank you for making it a great experience for our family!

Fantastic experience: Super staff, awesome lobby and play area and Dr. “Anna” Price was incredible with our daughter. She was having two teeth pulled and was understandably nervous. When we got home she told me she wasn't scared because Dr. Anna held her hand the entire time! That won me over for life!! 5⭐️

Negative experience: Well, new stuff not very professional, very slow and mostly time they try to realize how are they equipment working- its first. Second- they FORGOT to floss my kids' tooth. Really?!? It's regular procedure, come on!!! And last one, our hygienists checked her phone during cleaning procedure, not before or after, DURING procedure!!!! It's mostly unprofessional and low-quality work. We will never ever come back to this clinic. good luck! We miss Dr.Peterson and his stuff.

Negative experience: They messed up my teeth, I was trying to floss tonight after getting some work done earlier this week and the floss got stuck. I had to take scissors and cut the floss. The dentist didn’t even tell me what I needed to do after. How long till I could eat, what I should avoid and how long. He just got up as soon as he was done and left.

You canceled my children's appointment without informing us, and we were informed after coming to the clinic. Now for the third day, I am trying to call to make another appointment. There is no response. I ask the officials to monitor those at the reception because this is not the first time there has been no response. Answer or return to the caller after leaving a voice message.

Negative experience: When the clinic was owned by Dr. Pederson it was excellent. Now the care is terrible. They had to take x-rays 3 times. They cleaned my 17 year old daughters teeth in about 12 minutes. In addition, they missed a needed ROOT CANAL! Beware - VERY POOR CARE.

They set her up with an oral surgeon and helped ease the pain. Such wonderful people who gave great care. I switched all my grandkids so they will go here from now on.

Fantastic experience: This is my third year in this clinic. My kids become so happy when I tell them tomorrow, you have an appointment with the dentist. Specifically my daughter get excited to go there, to get at the end a reward " a little toy", plus a kit of toothbrush and toothpaste and fluss. They are so generous, thank you for making the kids so happy. The stuff are very friendly and welcoming, and the best thing is that they start the process of cleaning with my three kids at the same time. The hygienist are very nice with the kids. I really recommend this clinic. Thank you very much.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed in our experience. My child went in with a chipped tooth. And the dentist did nothing about it. Didn’t even come out and talk to me personally. Would have been nice to know when we called that he wasn’t going to fix it. Would have saved us a trip.

Fantastic experience: Been going here for 9+ years all three of my kids go here and they love it. Dr Perterson is always so nice and attentive. He also explains everything thoroughly. My kids haven’t had a bad experience and neither have I as a parent. You see a lot of turnover on assistants but I think that’s normal. Everyone one has always been nice to all of us.
