Fantastic experience: Went in for a cleaning this time - very thorough and professional. Reception is always helpful and upbeat so it makes the trip less dreadful ( as you can tell, I really don't like going to the dentist but everyone in the office makes it actually pleasant). The dentists are great and communicate well. Highly recommend!

My hygienist Jennifer was very thorough, gentle, and took the time to answer all of my questions. I had a concern about a tooth on my lower right side, and she carefully checked everything to make sure my gums were healthy and there was no infection. The dentist Dr. Simms also reviewed my X-rays and took the time to reassure me that everything looked good. I truly appreciated the kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail from the entire team. I left feeling confident that I had received excellent care. I highly recommend Hunterdon Family Dental Care!

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: May 20th, 2026. I have a new hygienist, "Jennifer" at this excellent dental practice. This was my second cleaning and she is very skilled, and caring. My FIVE STAR opinion continues. Original Review: My dentist of 30+ years retired. I researched the dentists in the Hunterdon County area and decided to make an appointment with Hunterdon Family Dental Care. From the very beginning, this was just an OUTSTANDING experience. The office staff was professional, and knowledgeable. I was easily processed into their system, and an appointment was promptly made with Dr. Zhu. "Melissa" called to offer an earlier date, due to a cancelled appointment, and was most accommodating. Upon arrival for my appointment, I was shown the facilities, and I was most impressed with the amount of focus on patient and staff safety and cleanliness. At my appointment, I was greeted by my dental hygienist, "Adrianne", and welcomed to the practice. She thoroughly explained each step that would be taken, and gently prepared a full set of X-rays, and preformed the cleaning. She was in constant dialog about the process and encouraged me along the way. "Adrianne" is a very skilled hygienist, and carefully completed her tasks. She was just Amazing! Very gentle, and patient focused. I was well pleased with the cleaning. Dr. Zhu then reviewed and evaluated everything and made some good recommendations for my dental care. Clearly, this is a wonderful dental practice, with a talented staff, and Dr Zhu is a fantastic dentist, and a dedicated leader who cares. 5 STARS!

I would’ve normally commuted to my previous employer, but being a new resident of Hunterdon county, and a new mom, I wanted to avoid a long commute. Therefore, trusting a new practice was difficult for me (when I became so comfortable with my previous practice and employer for 15+years). Doctor was thorough, honest, provided great feedback, my hygienist (I cannot remember her name but she was phenomenal, I’m sorry!). Highly recommended this practice! Just do it!

They were GREAT and gave me one same day, she needed a filling on her molar that had a cavity and they did they procedure fast, painless and carefully. When you are in the care of a independent physician like Dr Zhu, rather than a multi office corporate owned practice, one can expect a higher level of care, professional knowledge and reputation. I had returned to her for a consultation after my first visit with the big group. I was suspicious, they had told me I required several fillings. I knew my teeth were in excellent condition from years of Dr Zhu care. Dr Zhu confirmed, I had no cavities. The big group had a high turnover of young Dentists. None of the subsequent Dentists suggested I had cavities or needed fillings, that young Dentist just wanted to raise profits at my expense. Dr Zhu expertise and skill in treating TMJ is superior. I have worn the soft plastic brightening trays as night guards for over 10 years. Two of the big group dentists talked me into new guards because my previous insurance would pay for them, and each time the hard plastic, and their lower-level dentistry and listening skills ended up breaking two teeth. My appointments at the big group dental were often cancelled once a year because of unforeseen emergencies, therefore I rarely had twice a year cleaning. My smile is big and bright now that I have returned to care by a reputable and caring Dentist. ( I wrote this without the use of AI. They took a look at my xray while I was on the phone and told me to come right in. Dr Zhu was amazing. In 2 days I was eating steak (tiny bites lol). Fantastic experience: I had an urgent need for a broken tooth on a Saturday. I was leaving for a cruise on Sunday morning so panic was setting in. I called Hunterdon Family Dental and besides not being a patient and their schedule full for the day Dr. Zhu agreed to see me. She did not know if she would be able to “patch” it temporarily but agreed to see me. Dr. Zhu was able to do a repair and did not even need to numb it!! She is confident that I should not have any problems for the week and the repair might last a long time. Everyone was so kind! I recommend this practice to Adults & children.

Fantastic experience: I have been very fortunate to have Dr. Zhu as my dentist for the last ten years. At first I went to see her for adult orthodontia work (invisalign). I found Dr. Zhu's dental technique was excellent. From then on, Hunterdon Family Dental Care has become the dental office for my whole family. Dr. Zhu is very kind and patient. She is a perfectionist, willing to take time to achieve a high quality job. She continues to invest in most advance equipment/instruments for dental works. During the last two years, this office was equipped with numerous air purifiers and other equipment to ensure the safety of the patients and staff. We fell safe since all are very strict on hygiene practice. Hygienists and dental assistants there have been very nice and professional. The receptionist Helen is always so cheerful and hard working. She not just does the scheduling, she also explains to us what kind of upcoming job involves and the cost associated with them. Even though this office is twenty miles away from our house, we will continue to rely on their services for the years to come.
