Negative experience: I booked an appointment four weeks in advance and they tried to cancel it day of with no explanation as to why. I explained I took a PTO day for the appointment and couldn’t do another time, so they back tracked on canceling. Then, 30 minutes before the appointment they called to say they didn’t have the item I paid for that I needed to pick up at that appointment. It was supposed to take 3 weeks but ended up taking 5. Communication was disorganized and unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Omg I can not say enough great things about DR. Tulunoglu and his staff. I have always had a fear of dentists so between not going to the dentist and a car accident my teeth and lack of was horrible. From the first consultation Dr. Tulunoglu was amazing!! I had teeth pulled, bone replaced, and implants. Dr. Tulunoglu let me know what to expect with each step. The most I ever need for pain was Advil. The office team was amazing about working with your schedule so you were able to make appointments that work best for you. The dental Hygienist, dental Assistant always made sure you were ok. Fantastic experience: I brought my 16 month old here and Dr. Tulunoglu was so friendly and welcoming to him. He insisted that it’s more important that young children have a good first impression of the dentist than it is to do a full cleaning on a 1yo. They didn’t charge me for a cleaning since they weren’t able to do one, but he spent time talking to my son and playing with him to build trust. It showed a lot of care. I would recommend this place to parents and guardians with kids.

Positive experience: Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Demir is great! Hygienist was a little rough with my mouth, very painful, more so than usual. They also left me waiting a long time between the assistant's polishing and the hygienist coming into do a deep clean, long enough for me to almost fall asleep in the chair. Usually I'm in and out a lot faster for a routine cleaning. Otherwise would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: This clinic has gone through many billing changes in the 3 teeth cleaning visits I've had. They changed their name without any kind of announcement, so I started receiving texts about an outstanding balance of $163 from Companion Dental Care and assumed it was a scam. It was, in fact, their new system sending me repeat errant messages about a balance on my account. When I called to settle this and ensure an end to these messages, I was told I actually had a much lower balance, but a balance nonetheless for my teeth cleaning. I have never paid for this service before, with them, or elsewhere, and nothing changed in my insurance coverage. They just changed their prices to gouge wallets. I should have heeded the warning last year when my husband wound up with a $350 bill from a gum procedure they insisted on. My family and I will be finding a new dentist that does not overcharge for their services.

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed today I went in with severe tooth pain. All they was concerned about was saving the tooth a charge 2297.00 . As I write this message it’s sad no one these days has a heart for there patients. . I always like Dr Demir but today has changed how I feel. I was given an antibodic only. I needed something stronger than just Tylenol. Would not give me nothing for pain. So now I have to suffer.

Fantastic experience: I have never been in a medical waiting room that is more attractive. peaceful, and inviting! It was truly a place to want to be. The practitioners were very friendly and helpful, and even more professional and excellent at what they do. My issue was taken care of promptly and perfectly. Their equipment was the most up-to-date I have experienced, and they even had a muffin available for their patients when they checked out. What more could one want from a dentist?! Another visit, Dr Demir diagnosed my problem and very carefully explained all my options and answered all my questions. I am very happy with this practice!

Fantastic experience: New patient. Had a cracked crown. Got appt next day. Staff and Dr very friendly. I assumed I would need a new crown but he just smoothed out the edges and said I could get more mileage out of it unless it was hurting. That impressed me because he could have told me I needed a new crown. All this and a huge groundhog to watch through the window, wonderful visit!!!

From the ladies at the front desk, to the X-ray technician , the dentist, and dental hygienist, everyone was extremely kind, professional, knowledgeable, and had an excellent bedside manner. The dental hygienist was gentle and even the scrapping didn't hurt. My teeth felt very clean afterwards. If you are looking for a new dental practice I would highly recommend Smiles For Life.

Thank you Dr. Demir. My best dental experience has been with Smile for Life Dental Clinic. I recently moved to Virginia From CA and needed a dentist. Made an appointment with Smiles for Life Dental Clinic, greeted by friendly and professional staff and met Dr. Whiting. A very professional, honest, and caring doctor who took his time to examine and gave me his recommendations. Great and honest Doctor. Also met Allison, the dental Hygienist, and she was great along with every other staff I encountered with at the clinic. Simply put, they provide the best dentist experience I ever had.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Smiles for Life. I had part of a tooth break off and although not an emergency (no pain), I was able to get an appointment in a few days. I was greatly impressed by all the detailed photos and 3D imagery they were able to take in preparation for a crown. Despite much of the tooth being gone, they were still able to create a temp crown and use the imagery to order the permanent. Still a chance of a root canal, but I feel like all was done that could be done to keep it a a crown only. The staff was extremely attentive, shared status, and answered all my questions. I gave them a rough problem to tackle first this in the morning and they did a great job!

Fantastic experience: After being exposed to Black Mold in the house that I resided for 7+ years, most of my teeth were quite literally breaking, sometimes crumbling whenever I ate. I was an absolute wreck, worried that I would lose all of my teeth. Fortunately, I found Dr. Demir at Smiles for Life (Staunton) to help me with this highly stressful albeit unusual problem. He was highly knowledgeable, professional, as well as skilled in dealing with what amounted to a "train wreck" of a mess that was my teeth. With his polite demeaner and bedside manner he was able to calm me down and explain how best to go forward with repairing the extensive damage to my teeth. Dr. Demir came up with an affordable treatment plan that would allow me to keep most of my teeth without "breaking the bank" in the process. He has done an excellent job, my smile looks better now than it ever has. I thank God for the wonderful dentist he placed in my life at a time when I needed it the most. Fantastic experience: I needed a tooth extraction badly. I called and they told me they had an opening in 30 mins I was floored. They were only 10 mins away. Everyone was awesome. It was the least pressure of any dentist I've been too. No one put tools or hands in my mouth they looked at my x-ray and told me they could get me in the very next week. I am honestly excited and think I found myself a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: I came to Smiles for Life after having an awful experience at Aspen Dental (who opens a practice with temporary employees - including the dentist!) and a visit with a local oral surgeon. I had a root canal go bad and an infection developed. The treatment plan offered by the oral surgeon would have required me to go to 3 different professionals to have an implant done. I called several practices and Smiles for Life offered full service. They would handle everything. Dr. Whiting was very thorough in letting me know the process and his staff gave me a full accounting for the cost and several payment options. When they accidentally scheduled my surgery for a day when Dr. Whiting was not in the Staunton office, they were able to get me in at the Bridgewater office for the same day. The staff is very friendly and professional. I would have to say my only quibble is the communications between offices could be better as I was never contacted for my post surgery follow-up and the information not transferred from Bridgewater to Staunton. Quibble aside, it's great to have a full service practice and I'm thrilled with how my implant process went.
