Fantastic experience: They are incredible. From my first interaction with Nicole, through the nurse and Dr. Carkner, to the checkout, they were patient, kind, answered a variety of questions from the procedure itself, options, to the cost, timing etc. I never felt rushed or embarrassed to ask any questions. There was laughter and being comfortable, which aren’t typically words used when going to a dentist office. What a wonderful team!

During the procedure Dr. Kelling went out of his way to make sure that I was never in pain. Having issues with your teeth is never something anyone wants to go through, but if you do Northeast Surgical Specialists is the ONLY place you should go. Dr. Kelling and the staff were simply outstanding!

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire team and Dr Kelling. I needed both extractions and dental implants, but Dr. Kelling and the team made the whole process smooth and comfortable from start to finish. What stood out the most was their ability to do both the extractions and implants on the same day—something I didn’t think would be possible! The procedure itself took time but, and the level of care and attention the team gave me during the process was exceptional. They made sure I was comfortable from start to finish. Positive experience: I have dealt with this practice in Saratoga several,times. The result was always great, attentive staff, everything explained well, great care.,this visit was my husband and in queensbury. We waited almost an hour due to,office staff missing registering us, understaffed and we were not happy at all.just no,excuse. Once we were seen, all,was fine, but the reception area needs help for sure.

Fantastic experience: I have not personally been a patient, but have handled 2 family members extractions through this office. They are friendly, professional, and efficient. Both my son and father healed fast from their surgeries and my father had many teeth pulled for dentures, and not a single problem to speak of! The office waiting area and operating rooms are very clean, parking is very convenient, and I will absolutely go here myself when I inevitably will need my own extractions. This office is a breath of fresh of air. Kudos to the staff and surgeons. You have my referral :)

Negative experience: Very disappointed in the care received today from Dr. Clarkner and the response calling the after hours on call line. I called very shortly after the appointment complaining of sharp pain in my jaw muscle radiating up to my ear. Was told the local anesthesia they used would last only 1-2 hours, was probably starting to wear off. Face still totally numb. Advised to go home, take advil. Did that, took a 5 hour nap, and woke up with the same pain. Pain, ok fine, but my face didn’t have complete sensation back so now I was nervous. Called the on call number, was told to call back if I didn’t hear anything in 15 minutes. 3 call backs/45 minutes later I received a call from Dr Clarkner. I explained and he mentioned that this was not a normal place to have pain. I asked what to do. Got a “yeah… not really sure. Give it time.” I let him know how unhelpful that was, and told him I will follow up with my primary care provider. But right now, I am extremely disappointed. I am in pain and scared the feeling will not return to my face. This was completely unacceptable clinically as well as on a personal and “care” level. After a pleasant office visit/experience, I am pretty shocked by Dr Clarkner’s flippant attitude overall. If the feeling isn’t back in my face in the morning I will proceed to the emergency room.

Fantastic experience: Extraction and post install for implant - professional compassionate care from front desk, technicians and doctors- highly recommend this practice.

Positive experience: Everyone was very nice. I was a little bit surprised at the price they quoted me for 2 extractions. They said my Medicare was out of network so I have to pay out of pocket. I hope to be able to review better my next appointment.

Fantastic experience: I went in dreading the first appt because of all the horror stories of having wisdom teeth pulled, however, the staff was wonderful and Dr Kelling took the time to explain what my wisdom tooth extraction would look like, why I needed it and answered all my questions! From the initial consultation to the appt for extraction all the way to paying the bill this was an A+ experience.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. I went for a consultation with Dr. Kelling about extractions & posts put in for a denture. He explained everything great & gave me an accurate estimate range & different ways to decrease the cost. He was so informative & I felt sure about what I decided to do. I decided to just use local numbing instead of sedation so I could drive myself & go to work that day. They had me use ibuprofen before the local would wear off which I did the day of the surgery but that was it. They even called me the day of surgery to see how I was doing & stressed to me if I had any problems or questions to call anytime. They quoted me the amount from my decision which I was very happy with but since it wasn’t as much as a problem it was like $200 cheaper. Throughout the whole procedure he explained what he was doing. I can’t say enough good about him & the entire staff!!!

Fantastic experience: I have to admit I was very nervous about having an implant. Dr Carkner explained everything that was going to happen during my first visit and the actual day of surgery went smoothly. I had anesthesia and felt no pain at all. The nurse assisting was very friendly and definitely helped to ease any anxiety that I had initially.

Positive experience: Due to circumstances beyond his control Dr Kelling is unable to respond to my previous review. In order to be fair and just I want to retract everything I said in my previous assessment of him and will delete that post as soon as I can figure out how to do it. My previous appointments with Dr. Kelling were very professional and I have no axe to grind with him. Instead I will say that he has always done a good job. I did have a powerful negative reaction when the anesthesia he administered wore off prior to the end of the procedure. And yes I became upset when I realized he wasn’t going to inject any more sedation. However, my physical condition presents a complicated situation in that I have a laryngectomy and breath through my neck. I wasn’t considering that fact when I wrote the first review. Therefore I want to retract my comments in the prior written review and extend an apology in its place. Roger Rath

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Dr. Kelling for a consult, and was so impressed with his knowledge and understanding of my situation. I immediately scheduled to have two wisdom teeth removed, something I have put off for 20+ years. The front desk staff were very welcoming and answered all of my questions. The entire procedure took less than fifteen minutes to complete. Dr. Kelling explained everything to me and as he performed each step of the removal. I experienced zero discomfort thru the entire process. He then explained how to take care of the areas that the teeth were removed to avoid complications. This experience was one of the best surgical procedures I have ever had done. l have had routine dental cleanings that left my mouth sore for days after! Two wisdom teeth removed, I recovered quickly, never experiencing any discomfort or pain. Dr. Kelling and his team are the best around, I strongly recommend that you visit Northeast Surgical Specialist for the best quality experience. Update: Had the pleasure of visiting the office for another extraction 5/16/25, this one was a bit more involved and required some extra effort, also needed bone grafting. 24hrs after the procedure I am completely comfortable and have no discomfort. Truly amazing that this is possible, I strongly recommend that you have any procedures needed done here. I will be returning for an implant in 4 months. Dr. Kelling’s staff was amazing and really went above and beyond to make sure that I knew what was happening and kept me comfortable. Thank you Dr. Kelling and Staff !!

I have extreme anxiety with dentists they used to have to hold me down as a kid to clean my teeth… so I put off getting my wisdom teeth our for 15 years.. They explained the extraction procedure for my wisdom teeth thoroughly and were so professional throughout the entire process. And explained how easy it was and how long it would take. If I ever need work done in the future I will be back. One of the cleanest buildings as well. Dr. K and his team were amazing. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: BEST experience I’ve ever had with a healthcare professional All the office personnel I met were friendly, sincere and just nice. I met with Dr Carkner to discuss a molar extraction and implant. He explained the procedure clearly and answered every question— I never felt rushed. Prior to the appointment another tooth became very painful, called them and they were able to look at this tooth the same day of the extraction. Unfortunately, that tooth also needed to be extracted BUT fortunately Dr Carkner and his team were able to take out both teeth. I highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: Broke my implant on Sunday night, called Monday morning, sitting in Dr Kelling’s chair at 10 AM Tuesday morning. The broken screw is removed and referred to my regular dentist to install a new screw and attach crown. It doesn’t get any better than that, Dr Kelling and his staff are enjoyable to work with. 5 Stars !

Fantastic experience: Had to have a wisdom tooth removed. Very nervous from a bad experience as a youth and the staff and doctor immediately put me at ease. Extremely professional and answered all my questions. Explained everything along the procedure and it took less than a minute to extract the tooth. No pain, very little blood. The after care fully explained and was reassured if I had any issues I was to call. Six hours later I have very little discomfort. Staff called in pain meds just in case. Honestly they were with me every step of the way. I highly recommend this practice.
