Fantastic experience: Staff are exceptional at their job.

Fantastic experience: I don't remember the name of my dentist, but after 41 years on this planet I finally had my first cavity. I was very nervous to say the least because I really didn't know exactly what to expect, and even when you ask someone else about their experience, things always seem to be painted in a negative scary light. Needless to say, I was in and out in 30 minutes, and the staff could not have been more empathetic to my anxiety during the entire procedure. I hope I never have another cavity again, but at least if I do, I know I'll be in great hands!

Fantastic experience: The Challenger dental office offered excellent service to my two littles. Unfamiliar with proceedings during a toddler dental visit, they guided us through each step, created significant space for questions, and made recommendations based on their findings. The office was prepared, sensitive to my littles’ needs, and very encouraging of my littles’ progress towards independent dental care. My family’s needs were heard, acknowledged, and treated with expertise.

Fantastic experience: Dr Challenger and his hygienist Mia are absolutely amazing! The entire office staff are fantastic! I highly recommend you become a patient here. The quality of the care that you get is exceptional. They are also genuinely kind and wonderful people. Truly can’t recommend them enough.

Negative experience: I won’t be using the services anymore, because I was misled and lied to. The receptionist told me that my insurance was in the network and it wasn’t so, I ended up having to pay majority of the bill out of pocket.. If you decide to use this services with insurance, make sure you call your insurance 1st , so you don’t get stuck with an expensive bill like mine!!!

Negative experience: I have not had a good experience with this office and i had a pretty bad first impression. My first visit was for an exam/cleaning and i was there over 2 hours. The dental assistant i had i am guessing was new or a temp because she had no idea what she was doing or how to work any of their equipment. Because of that my X-rays had to be redone by a different person. The dentist never came back and explained anything he saw after the second set of xrays, i was just told while checking out they wanted to fill 3 cavities, fix a cracked tooth, and extract my wisdom teeth. I schedule the first appointment to fill the cavities and i ended up having to take my dog to the ER vet at midnight the night before. I ended up having to leave her there over night and was suppose to go back in the next morning but the office was going to charge me a $75 cancellation fee even after being told the situation which i cannot afford after the $5000 ER vet bill. My first impression was unprofessional and second was lack of compassion. I will say everyone in the office has been very nice both visits, and they let me only do 2 fillings instead of the 3 that were planned so that i could get out quicker. I am really hoping my experience improves going forward.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Challenger..what can I say...just the best. Trust the 4.9...but it should be 5.0 and higher. Great bedside manner, gentle touch, thorough, great results. Also, a family member, years of seeing a former dentist, who totally missed what Dr. Challenger found on the first exam. A tiny dark spot that didn't look right on the films. He ordered a ct scan...done right in his office, found a very large cyst that had been growing under 5 teeth in his lower jaw. We were able to get the appropriate care and treatment to save his lower jaw. His experience and skill is top notch, plus my fear of injections is now gone, as he is so proficient at delivering them. He also invests in the best modern technology to provide his patients excellent care. TRUST the good reviews.

Positive experience: Dr. Challenger is awesome. The dental hygienists are fantastic! The reason for the 3 stars is because they used to be easy to get appointments. I liked this place when it first opened. They started accepting more and more clients to the point where when you need appointments you literally have to be scheduled far out. Forget emergency dental work. I also don’t like how they will switch up the dentists without asking you which one you want to see. I didn’t like the work that was done on my teeth a few months ago. It caused more issues.

Negative experience: Last two visits I’ve encountered unexpected charges for routine maintenance care. The dentist office states it is an insurance issue, but I have asked prior to the service if it would be covered by insurance. They always state that it is normally a covered expense. I have excellent insurance through BCBS, so I’m very disappointed. I even asked that they put a memo in my file that I don’t want any service that insurance does not cover. I’m not sure why they do unusual services when I don’t request them.

Negative experience: Dr Challenger was great. Then I never saw him after my first visit. Always someone else. Each visit was worse than the previous. This time was the last straw. I waited for 2 hrs for my appt. No one else in the waiting room. They kept telling me they were busy. I had to leave. I asked to reschedule and I got an eye roll. When is that appropriate? I got in my car and saw Dr. Challenger walk out the back door. He was going to the bldg next door which appears vacant. He looked in the window and then entered. Is this why I had to wait for so long. BTW, this was considered an emergency visit for losing my crown. The next day I found a new dentist. It was like night and day. Everyone was so nice upon arrival. I was taken back on time. I got my crown fixed in no time and I was on my way. Something has happened to this office. The staff is not so friendly, helpful or great anymore. I don't see Dr. C. anymore but others. It was time for me to find a better fit for myself and my husband.

Fantastic experience: Challenger Family Dental in Clayton,NC is by far the best dental office I have ever been to. The staff accommodated me in every way possible and truly made me feel like family. From scheduling my appointments promptly to the exceptional care I received during my visits, the level of service was outstanding. They did an excellent job on my teeth, and the experience exceeded all of my expectations. I will never go back to my previous dental office now that I know what real customer care and quality dentistry looks like.

The front desk staff truly deserves special recognition, they are incredibly friendly, patient, and organized. They greeted us with big smiles, helped us with paperwork, answered all our questions, and made the whole visit feel smooth and stress-free. The dental team was just as wonderful, gentle, caring, and great at explaining everything to the girls so they felt comfortable. You can tell everyone there really cares about families and goes above and beyond. I’m so thankful for their kindness and professionalism. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Ive been going to challenger family dental, along with my daughter, for a year now. Not only are the dental hygienist, assistance, and the Dr's respectful and friendly the front office staff are as well. I love the atmosphere where they keep things low pressure, chill, and really trying to make YOUR experience as comfortable as possible. As someone who gets a little nervous going to the dentist I appreciate the relaxed atmosphere. I actually am sad I found them a little later but im glad I did. Would definitely recommend challenger dental to anyone!

Fantastic experience: 100% amazing team with a great leader. The staff is amazingly supportive and comforting and very clear with their communication! They have been working with me on a pretty intense case as I needed basically full mouth extractions as I prepare for my new smile in a few weeks! I underwent the procedure while awake and had 26 extractions and Alveoplasty with both Dr. Challenger and the assistant making sure I was as comfortable as possible for such an intense procedure. Almost NO pain at all, of course it’s still not an enjoyable experience but you can clearly tell Dr. Challenger has extreme patience and EXPERIENCE. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions or voice any concerns. He will address them immediately. From my experience so far, everyone in this office is overly willing to go out of there way to ensure your understanding of the procedure you might need and is also honest and transparent about the risks/downsides, while truly working hard and focusing to ensure you don’t deal with those. I’m on Day 4 of healing and couldn’t be more satisfied with the work done so far and I can believe I can say that Dr. Challenger and his team have literally erased my lifetime phobia of the dentist chair. Thank you to the entire team at challenger and I’m looking forward to seeing you guys again to continue my treatment plan. Please don’t hesitate on choosing this office and staff as your go to for your oral health! Also, make sure to ask about their in-house dental insurance plan, it saved me THOUSANDS!!! Fantastic experience: I called Challenger Dental by accident thinking I was calling another dental office. I made my appt with the "other" office and received a text from Challenger confirming the appt. I immediately thought this dental office changed their name. I realized I called Challenger by mistake. However we should all know nothing is by accident that all things are planned. So I kept my appt with Challenger. I walked in for the first time feeling very comfortable. When I sat down to get examined, I saw the TV in front of me was playing Elevation worship music. I began to realize, this is where I am supposed to be. Mia, the dental hygienist was very nice and we shared a lot of the same ideas and values. Dr. Challenger was very thorough, very nice, very knowledgeable and told me all that needs to be done. The receptionist broke all the fees down so I was able to understand what the payment would be. I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Challenger and his group. I made an appt for my husband and daughter. I absolutely recommend Challenger Dental.

Fantastic experience: My son was hesitant to have his wisdom teeth removed. Dr Challenger took time to answer my sons concerns & questions. The teeth were removed, stitches weren't needed. It all went well & recovery went well too. 24 hours after, no swelling or bruising, just some pain. The office texted and emailed us checking in on him. We switched from another much larger dental practice group (Riccobene), and we are very happy we did. Great service & care with Challenger Family Dental. He and all of his staff are compassionate and all so very friendly. Dr. Challenger certainly goes the extra mile to ensure that you understand your dental needs and makes you feel very comfortable. Fantastic experience: The most high vibrational Dentist office I have ever been to.I went for 1 procedure,& the Dentist did 2 procedures.His whole entire crew was high vibrational,very nice & kind.They got Netflix to watch,& don't worry,you can watch Netflix on the ceiling as well while they take care of your teeth.Very cozy! Negative experience: BEWARE! Brought my son to get a cleaning and xrays. They told me he needed 4 cavities, braces and his wisdom teeth removed. Gave me a high treatment plan and I left. Called a different dentist and they requested the xrays multiple times. They finally sent them. They showed me the xrays. He had 1 small cavity. Didn't need braces or his wisdom teeth removed. I don't have insurance so was paying cash. They use a scare tactic to get you to pay them a high treatment plan. Definitely get a second opinion before you agree to them.

Negative experience: This dentist was very good....until money started to be more important than doing a good job....they have an employee who gives anesthesia but that employee looks like she works as a butcher.....she treats you very badly. and he gives you anesthesia in such a bad way that it even makes you cry.... if you are looking for a good dentist, I think this one is no longer in that category....not to mention the unnecessary work they do to you without telling you anything causing harm your teeth

Fantastic experience: I feel very lucky to take a chance to come to this dental place on some reviews but all the positives are true! Dr. Challenger is an excellent dentist with gentle hands and great manner who lead by example so the whole office are filled with the same quality people.this place is my favorite dental place! all the staffs are super friendly and accommodating and most importantly they are so good at what they do and “ no pains at all!” I just want to say “thank you to Dr. challenger and all the girls! Fantastic experience: My original dentist referred me to an oral surgeon to have 5 upper teeth removed. The dentist I was referred to wasn't going to be able to see me until December. I called Challenger Family Dental, February 12th and was seen the 19th and got all 5 teeth removed that day. Everyone was extremely nice and was in and out within an hour. That was x-rays and extractions. I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking a quality dentist.

Fantastic experience: Went in two get a deep cleaning, feeling, and three impacted wisdom teeth removed ,he did a great job barely feeling any pain after the procedure, however he was only able to extract my bottom lower wisdom tooth and had to refer me to an oral surgeon, because my mouth was too small on the inside and said it be better to see an oral surgeon for that

Fantastic experience: I had 7 teeth extracted and Dr.Challenger is so very gentle you do not even feel the needles when he numbs the gums. He had the extractions done in a very short time ( minutes). I am so pleasantly surprised at how great my experience was at Challenger! Ever since person in the office was very nice, they explained each process and was very upfront about the cost of each step. This was hands down the best experience I’ve had at any dentist office and can honestly say I don’t dread going back!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Challenger Family Dentist! That are fantastic. Mia is the sweetest, most accommodating hygenist I've ever had. The front staff is amazing as well. I can't say enough of how lovely everyone is there. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to the dentist and they make it a lot easier to manage right when I walk through the door. Thanks guys, you rock!
