Fantastic experience: The entire team at ​Cole and Gentry Dentistry is absolutely amazing! They are truly some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Everyone Ive dealt with always goes above and beyond to make me feel completely at ease and incredibly comfortable with whatever dental work I need done. The level of care and comfort they provide is unmatched. Love them!

Negative experience: waited till a DAY before my appointment ( that i’ve waited 2 weeks for) to tell me my “insurance doesn’t have dental coverage” when yes, it does because i’ve used it my whole life and never had any issues with ANY other dental facility. absolutely ridiculous and a complete waste of my time.

He’s gone above and beyond when I was having tooth pain during off hours and truly cares about his patients. He’s an absolute artist when it comes to anything cosmetic as well. I’ll never go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Spent the morning getting my teeth inspected and cleaned as it was my first visit to Cole & Gentry Dentistry. I was immediately greeted by the receptionist as I walked in. Unfortunately, I didn’t get her name, but she was extremely friendly to myself and everyone that came in after I did. Lisa inspected and cleaned my teeth, she was extremely thorough and professional. I hope she does the job again when I go back in 6 months. Excellent job, Lisa! Dr. Gentry came in to introduce himself and check out my teeth. I was extremely impressed by his manner and courteous disposition. My wife went in a couple of hours after my appointment and she also had an excellent experience with her appointment. She said Jennifer was her hygienist and she was excellent. We are very pleased with the service and professionalism with our new dentist and all of the staff.

Fantastic experience: The dental experience can be daunting. I’m older so I have been to many dentists over the years including Navy dentists (yikes!) I can say without hesitation Smith and Cole is the best experience I have ever had in a dentist’s office. They are never trying to up-sell you on work you do not need. They are professionals with the latest in equipment to make the overall visit the best it should be.

Fantastic experience: The equipment that Smith, Cole & Gentry use is amazing! My new crown is a perfect fit and the process to have it measured and made was painless. The new crown feels just like a normal tooth and the color match is excellent. Thank you Dr. Smith and his team for the great work!

From the moment I walked in, Yasmin and Halle at the front desk were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making check-in smooth and easy. Dr. Cole was outstanding—professional, friendly, and thorough in explaining everything. I felt completely at ease throughout my appointment. Elo provided excellent care during my treatment, and Meagan was also fantastic in assisting with everything. The entire team made sure I felt comfortable and well taken care of. Negative experience: Definitely do not recommend this office. I waited over 4 months for a cleaning appointment. Upon arrival I got a bunch of lip service from the technician about “our process is” stating that I can’t get a cleaning until I get a complete set of X-rays and gum tests done. I saw that as a breech of contract and immediately walked out. The audacity of these companies that think they are entitled to dictate to you how they will spend your insurance benefits. Outrageous conduct.

Fantastic experience: I visited Smith & Cole Dentistry this morning and was so happy with each and every person I met. I am an older woman and have a fear of going to the dentist due to a bad experience as a child. Dr. Cole took time from his busy schedule to comfort me by simply taking time to visit. I had lost a filling and was worried about ignoring it. I’ve lived in New Braunfels for a little over 2 years and kind of put off going to a dentist. After he checked things out he had found another filling I had lost. He gave me the option of fixing one or both. They were close to each other and I opted for both. Oh my goodness……. I honestly didn’t feel a thing. A first! I am so happy with my choice and my dear neighbor that suggested I give them a try. They may not want me again, but I will be seeing them on a regular basis. Thank you all for the kindness shown to me.

Fantastic experience: Can't say enough good things about Dr Cole. If you have put off going to dentist because of bad experiences, go see him! I stopped going for along time because of some really poor experiences with dentists - trying to do procedures I didn't need, not letting me know about options, not even knowing at times what they were doing. He explains everything, goes over your options, and during the procedures he let's you know what he's doing. And he is just a very nice guy, along with a friendly staff. No reservations about recommending them.

Negative experience: Been going here for 3 years and I have never had the same hygienist twice. Makes me wonder if they have a hard time keeping good ones. I was having a hard day and she threw insults at me. A while back when I had to talk to the financial lady the hygienist brought me up to her desk and she told her that she wasn't talking to anyone unless they needed to see her because she was busy talking to a friend. Then she stated that we owed $2,000 more that we were told earlier and then blamed the dentist for putting down the wrong code.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about this practice! As a person who is incredibly scared of dental procedures, I find it difficult to find a dental office with patience and grace. I am so happy to have found Smith and Cole. The hygienist was so patient and caring walking me through every step. The dentist listened and validated all of my concerns and provided several different options as solutions. I would highly recommend this practice to any patient!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love my visits! The front office staff give a sincere welcome and departure. I have seen multiple doctors that are thorough and genuine in their communications, skilled dental assistants that don’t miss a beat by staying one step ahead, and the hygienists I have seen are just as wonderful! The office staff do an outstanding job at providing dental plans and giving accurate information about your out of pocket expenses, which is essential today. Lastly, I must mention, the working environment of this office is truly leaves you with a positive experience! Kudos to the leadership and the TEAM!

Fantastic experience: Heather is an amazing hygienist!!! I am always terrified to get my teeth clean because I am so sensitive and it usually hurts. I expressed my fears to her and she LISTENED. It was by far the best experience I’ve ever had and she put my fears to rest! Highly recommend. The doctors are great and the receptionists are all so so sweet and accommodating. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming. Go see them if you need a new dentist.

After my previous review, I was contacted by Smith and Cole to discuss my dissatisfaction. All service and treatment after has been top notch. In fact, Kristin and Chelsea make the absolute best Dr/Dental Tech Team providing me superior treatment that I'm confident has and will enhance my life. Fantastic experience: This place is absolutely wonderful! Dr Cole was so kind and hospitable to my children. In a visit for my 5-year-old he was very friendly and had a calming demeanor. I appreciate him and his staff for all of their patience and help.

Negative experience: Been coming here for a few years now, I always had a good experience until my last appointment a couple of weeks ago, the dentist seem to be in a rush, the needle of the anesthesia hit a bad spot and I feel intense pain in my face, I could feel every nerve in my face like a thunder of intense pain, I keep trying to tell him to stop but he wouldn't care even when I was tapping him frantically so I literally had to push him out. Every other dentist stop when they see any kind of discomfort to look for consent to proceed and he just told me that my pain was normal didn't offer any other alternative and I bother him while I was taking a minute to compose myself, zero bedside manners. I had to bare with the pain and discomfort so I could leave as soon as possible and never comeback again to this office. I had many other procedures done in different offices and this by far is the worse. I was literally crying in pain. I had teeth pulled before, crowns and I never had cry at all but with this one and it wasn't about the pain it was mostly because when I did everything in my power for him to stop he didn't. I feel abused. I'm glad they have so many great reviews, and clients but I'm definitely never coming back again. 2 weeks had passed and I'm still sore in the place of the anesthesia and my mouth doesn't fully open. I'll be ok it's just matter of time. But if I wasn't scare of dentist in all this years now I'm definitely are. On top of that I got work done in the wrong tooth and is not smooth correctly but that can be fixed in a different office. Recommendations for patients: don't go around lunch time or they will rush you. Recommendations to the dentist: please stop when a patient ask you to stop to avoid future trauma with other patients.

The front desk staff remembers to ask about your family, compliment your smile, chat with you about life. Each dentist is patient, careful, quick, and gentle. They make you feel comfortable in and out of the chair. Smith & Cole dentistry is top notch when it comes to all things dental and orthodontic! They understand how much a good smile means but also how it impacts families financially. Truly changed how I feel about going to the dentist. Our whole family goes here and couldn’t be happier.

Fantastic experience: Called Dr. Cole's office as I had a toothache. They got me in quickly, a couple of days. Dr. Cole diagnosed the problem and recommended a course of action. He remedied the situation in another appointment. This was my first dealing with the Dr. I moved here a couple of years ago and had no dentist. I have other teeth issues that he is helping me with. Very nice people here. So his staff was very nice and accommodating and respectful. I recommend Dr. Cole to you as a very good dentist. Update: Just returned from the dentist after getting a crown and another cavity filled. Dr. Cole is such a nice guy and his staff is also great! They make the trip to the dentist very easy to deal with.

Fantastic experience: Had my 1st evaluation/appointment today with Dr. Cole. Easily the best dental experience I've had. Everyone I interacted with was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. I'm usually very nervous and uncomfortable with dentists. The thing that really surprised me was how observant and responsive they were. They were able to pick up on anything that hurt without me having to say a word and were quick to react too. It was the 1st time I found myself trusting that they genuinely cared about their patients comfort and making things as smooth and painless as possible. I left feeling very well informed, confident in Dr. Cole's recommendations, and relieved at the thought of finally finding a dentist where I won't be super nervous about going to.

Negative experience: Very nice office, Doctors and good work. However very over priced and they try to guilt you into getting cosmetic work, you don’t need, don’t want and cannot afford. Third time this has happened. I would love to spend $15,000. on a beautiful smile- but I can barely afford payments on the urgent dental work I NEED! Why make me feel so pressured and bad about myself?!

What an absolutely pleasant experience!! Received the most thorough and comprehensive checkup, X-rays and cleaning that I have ever had! Happy teeth! Super friendly, mindful, efficient, attentive and talented staff and specialists who check in with you at all stages ensuring that one is not experiencing discomfort at any point. Fantastic experience: From the first telephone call I made to Smith & Cole they impressed me! Laura was the perfect mixture of professional and super sweet. She ended up getting my three children and myself in even sooner than planned as openings became available in the schedule. At my children’s appointments it became clear that the culture of this office is again that perfect mixture of professional and super sweet. Typically dentists schedule 1 hour cleanings and 1 1/2 hour new patient appointments to allow time for X-rays. Our appointments were scheduled for two hours each. From Stacy, Jennifer, Trish, Dr. Hartman, Dr. Swallows, and all the other lovely people we met it is obvious that building relationships is evidentially a value they live. I found it so refreshing! They are also on the cutting edge in technology and procedures. As someone who worked in the field years ago it was exciting to see the advancements. You are going to love this place!!! We sure do!!

There’s a reason I drive 3 hours from Houston for my dental work and now invisiline...Smith and Cole Dentistry is the best! They are kind, professional, clean and very attentive to a patient's needs. Case is point is on Christmas Eve I knocked out a front tooth that was very painful. My wife contacted him by text and he met us at his office at 9:00pm that night to fix it. What Dentist would do this on Christmas Eve? Dr.Cole did! Because he genuinely cares about people. The staff is the same way and very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I had a front tooth crown on an implant unexpectedly come loose returning home from vacation on a Sunday. I called first thing Monday morning. They got me in quickly that day and Dr. Cole handled my situation immediately. Awesome staff and wonderful Dr.’s. Great practice.

Negative experience: The dentist and hygienist were very nice & thorough. The 2-star rating is for their billing department. The billing department continued to file my insurance claim incorrectly and wrote on my bill that filing claims is ultimately my responsibility even though I provided phone numbers and offered to conference call between the dentist office and the insurance company. The dentist office agent even told me my insurance company was the “devil”. I finally spoke to a manager at the dentists office and she was able to correctly file the claim. Since it took so long, I was unable to claim it through my health savings account (which means I lost money).
