Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment on Monday. I know Mondays are typically always busy. They took me right in and had to rearrange their schedule to do so. They did it quickly and with compassion. They explained the medical danger and treatment in my situation and never once made me feel like I was a burden. Even though, I understand what a huge inconvenience the timing was. I appreciate the knowledge and kindness of Dr. Ellis and all his staff from beginning to end. I'm grateful and apologetic to the patients that had to reschedule. I thank them for their understanding, and hope they were not too put out by it. I have been going to West Wind Dental for over 20 years and have never once had a negative experience. That speaks volumes. If you want knowledge, kindness and people that understand individual needs, go to West Wind Dental. They treat you like a friend and not a number!

Negative experience: Went for a filling and left worse than I went in it feels like the cavity is worse don’t recommend. I do recommend doctor Ellis but not the other guy!

Negative experience: I went in for a cleaning not that long ago and they told me I had a cavity on almost every single tooth. I wasn’t really given any information on what they were going to do to my teeth other than the fillings. I went in for three visits. I take pretty good care of my teeth so I was a little shocked to say the least when they told me I needed so much work done. I originally thought it would take one visit and then kept being told to come in again and again. I was already a little suspicious when I got my wisdom teeth out and felt they didn’t do the best job as I felt the pain for most of the procedure. I went in for another cleaning somewhere else and found out about every single filling they did was done wrong and poorly. I now need to have a root canal and about 4,000 in dental work done to fix the work that they did poorly. And I have been given issues that I’m going to need to deal with for the rest of my life. I even question if I needed all those cavities filled in the first place since I always floss and was told I take great care of my teeth by other dentists. I’ve had cavities before, but never this extreme and never done this poorly. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. They were really nice, but other than that they didn’t really know what they were doing.

Fantastic experience: I just went in today for a wisdom tooth removal after not having been to the dentist in years. The dr and nurse were incredibly kind, patient and understanding. They walked me through every step and answered all of my 10,000 questions. I’m scheduled to go back in a few weeks for more work and I’m happy to report I’m not nervous at all. 10/10

Negative experience: The staff is amazing friendly helpful. Dr E. On the other hand needs to retire. Every time my son, wife, or I had fillings done they were left to high. I had one left high enough it broke the tooth when biting. The biggest issue was when we go back to have it fixed, your are treated like crap. He is also more interested in pulling your teeth for implants, then fixing what problems you have.

Negative experience: Poor dentist, saying there were far more problems than there was. Was told there was gum disease, 5 cavities, and surgery would be necessary. Went to another dentist and got a second opinion, had one cavity was all. They called to have the review taken down when it was only the truth. Truly a 1 star dentist, would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Oh my Stars... I mean 5 stars! I am so Grateful for West Wind. I broke a tooth and for the past 3 days I've been in excruciating pain. I called at least 20 different Dentists to find one that would take my Insurance. Found one place but couldn't get me in until March. That wasn't going to work for me. I called West Wind this morning. They could get me in on Wednesday. I was grateful for that but still didn't know how I was going to go 5 more days feeling like this. I called West Wind back at around 12:20. I explained that I'm in excruciating pain and begged them to try and get me in today. They close at 2pm on Fridays. She said she could get me in if I was there by 1:15. It's a 45-60 min drive for me. I was going to make it there come hell or high water. Made it there, got my tooth pulled and made it home before the numbing wore off. Of course I'm still in a lot of pain ... I got a tooth pulled and it had an infection... So yup it's gonna hurt for awhile but at least I know it will heal and I won't have to go the next 5 days breaking down time and time again because of pain. The Staff was very friendly and very understanding of my needs. Word can't express how grateful and thankful I am that they went above and beyond for a new Patient in need. Thanks so much to everyone at West Wind for making me feel comfortable and important. I will definitely go back for all of my Dental needs.

Negative experience: I don’t recommend this place . I had feelings done on both sides of my teeth and I’m in more pain than I was in before I had them worked on . I have Medicaid . The dentist I had was rude . Treated me like I was stupid when I told him my teeth were in pain . When I eat anything it hurts . My right side was swollen.

Negative experience: I'll start out by saying that I do not enjoy dentists AT ALL. I went into West Winds Dental as Medicaid coverage is very limited in the area. The receptionist and staff was friendly, but the dental care I received was bare minimum at best. I went in for one tooth in particular that had a cavity, and ended up needing to have more done than I thought. When I went in the first time for fillings, the tooth I'd originally came in for wasn't even fixed correctly. It hurt more than it did before they "fixed" it, and I could still see and feel the cavity. They'd drilled it out, but not fully filled it. I had to tell them the second time that they must not have done it correctly. The dentist claimed that they didn't put fillings in the "face" of the tooth unless it was sensitive or hurting. I reminded him that was the reason I'd come in. Needless to say, he again "fixed" that tooth and had a few more cavities to fill. He drilled the fillings all out, and then without filling them, he and the hygienist just got up and left without saying anything. I sat there at least 20 minutes wondering what was going on. When they finally came back to fill the cavities, the numbing had worn off in spots. I told him numerous times that it hurt, he never numbed it again, and just rushed through finishing what needed done. By the time he was finished, my mouth was bleeding and hurting so bad I was in tears. Now, I have more teeth that are sensitive and hurt than I started out with, and the only tooth that hurt when I went in still isn't fixed correctly. Would not recommend AT ALL if you're insured by Medicaid. I'd give negative stars if I could.

Negative experience: So...I don't write reviews very often but I've been dwelling on this experience recently and felt I needed to share. But I should preface that this experience happened three years ago, so grain of salt, I suppose. It all started when I had a broken front tooth that needed immediate attention. I went in for an exam and Dr. Ellis said he felt that there wasn't enough of the tooth left to attempt a root canal and recommended an extraction, implant, and crown instead. I was saddended to hear this as it would be the first adult tooth I would lose besides my wisdom teeth, but I trusted his opinion. By the way, I have a fairly pronounced overbite for which I haven't been able to afford the braces needed to correct it. This will be important later. The first thing that went wrong was the pain medication he prescribed me. I'll be honest that I don't remember the name of it, but it was some sort of opioid adjacent thing I'd never had before. I'm usually vigilant on drug interactions because I take Venlafaxine, an anti-depressant that badly mixes with many other meds, some including the possibility of coma or even death. However, I had listed my meds on the patient form so I just assumed if anyone would know what would be safe to take, it would be Dr. Ellis. But after a few days of taking the pain meds while waiting for my extraction/implant appointment, I felt ill, like constantly dizzy, brainfogged, and weak. Lo and behold, I look up the interaction checker on drugs.com and mixing that med with Venlafaxine wasn't recommended - in fact, it could even induce the major interaction that can cause that possibility of coma or death - serotonin syndrome. I was confused, even pretty angry, that he had not known (or even cared enough to look at my information) that these meds could cause something life threatening. But knowing I needed to get this tooth pulled, I stopped the meds he prescribed and switched to just ibuprofen, hoping this would be the only mistake. It wasn't. I had also been prescribed amoxicillin to take before my appointment, something which I've taken two other times in my life and handled well. I mention this because on the day of my extraction/implant, his two assistants asked if I had been taking the antibiotics. I said yes, but the course wasn't finished yet. I had the pill bottle in my purse and got it out to show them, at which point, they removed the three pills left inside and told me to take them. This didn't sound right. But, once again, I felt I had to trust them as they were medical professionals. So on top of the pill I had taken before my appointment, I took the last three as instructed which came out to four amoxicillins in a matter of a couple hours - double the dose I had been taking per day. The procedure itself went fine (aside from the assistants not being able to draw some blood from me in case my body rejected the implant. Which, yes, would have been bad but I do have hard to find veins so...okay, I guess?) and I thought I was recovering well when I went home. Until the next day. I awoke with some pretty painful stomach cramps and the need to rush to the bathroom with diarrhea over and over. Of course, antibiotics kill off good gut bacteria as well so I wasn't super worried at first...but this did feel more intense than the previous times I had taken amoxicillin. I called the dental office just to be safe and they said I would be fine, even finishing with "Well, and you did say you were a hypochondriac anyway." Which is, uh, almost funny considering I spent the next six months with SIBO which made me the sickest I have ever felt in my life. But here's the kicker! The new dentist I have? A few months ago, he examined my implant and said he wants to remove it. Why? Oh, because of my overbite! He said he would never give an implant to someone who needs teeth realignment first because you cannot realign the implant with the teeth - meaning this was literally all pointless. So thanks for that AND almost giving me a life threatening condition AND destroying my gut with too much amoxicillin!

Positive experience: This dentist's sign is so bright at night, it feels like they’re trying to give you a teeth cleaning from across the street. Forget whitening strips—just stand under that sign for five minutes and your smile will be glowing!

Fantastic experience: My daughter was very nervous going into the dentist today due to the fact that she was going to have oral surgery plus a couple other procedures. This was her first experience with anything other than routine dental cleanings. She was very scared of the thought of the needles that they were going to use to numb her to prepare her for the oral surgery. Thanks to the dental hygienist who went above and beyond today to make my daughter feel more comfortable and safe and for taking the time to care to make sure that my daughter was numb and was not feeling no pain during the procedure and for taking into consideration my daughter fear of needles. Our experience today at Westwind dental was great and was all due to a fantastic dental hygienist and staff and dentist.

Fantastic experience: They always take good care of me. They also always make sure you get the best service from them in all honesty I trust them more then all the doctors I have been going to and they do accept medicade.

Negative experience: Worst, most inconsiderate dental experience I have ever had. I should have known from the start from the rude, off putting receptionist, to the rough, jagged texture still coving my teeth from poorly doon filings, to the blasé attitude of my excruciating pain and discomfort leading to an E.R. visit. Retire. This field isn't for you.

Fantastic experience: We went to the dentist today. My 15 year old son got 2 teeth extracted. Everything went smoothly and well. Dr. Ellis and his staff were friendly and competent in all they did. Dr. Ellis didn't just jerk the teeth out, but gently removed them. My son didn't even know they were out. I also had a tooth removed in October 2023 and an implant put in in February 2024. Everything went well and I love my new tooth.

Negative experience: I am heavily unimpressed with this office right now. My teenager had some of her wisdom teeth taken out this past week, she has a high tolerance to local anesthesia and they wouldn't give her the gas unless she left a review here on Google. She then requested not to be given a narcotic pain medication afterward due to her other parents addiction problems and they insisted on giving them to her anyway. They were extremely rough with her and now her face is overly swollen.

Negative experience: My daughter has been having nightmares of going here. Absolute horror story. The lady who got her ready was very kind and added topical before giving her a shot. Then the man doing the extraction came in and treated my 9 year old like an adult. The topical wore off and instead of reapplying, gave her multiple shots without any numbing prior. As she screamed out in pain I told him he needed to stop as he was hurting her. Instead of adding topical before hand to reduce any discomfort he looked me in the eye and said “I need to” and disregarded that I told him to stop and instead gave her another jab without any topical again. At this point I had no idea what to do, my 9 year old daughter was clearly in a lot of pain and the man wouldn’t stop no matter how much I protested otherwise. My daughter is now deathly afraid to go anywhere near a dentists office. The lady who gave her the initial shot was so great with kids that my daughter didn’t even notice she had received a shot at all, it was a stark contrast to what happened when the guy came in, completely disregarding her parent telling him he needed to stop, even through my 9 year olds pained screams. I will be contacting whoever I can to make sure that man isn’t allowed to work with children. Disgusting and shameful.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. This place gave me trauma. When I was little I came in for a spacer. I didn't get enough numbing and they pulled my teeth. I was screaming and crying the whole time. That experience completely traumatized me and since then I have hated going to the dentist. Another time I had to have impressions taken of my teeth. When they did the impressions, the stuff they did it with started gagging me and it was freaking me out but the hygienist said not to take it out because it needed to set, which I understand, but that's really scary to a child. The final time I went there was after some intense family stuff and my dad and the dentist were talking bad about my mom as mine and my sibling's teeth were being worked on. That was the last straw and I never went back. Extremely unprofessional and a lot of things were said that I didn't need to hear. I wasn't even able to tell them to shut up and stop talking about my mom that way. No child wants to hear someone that they are supposed to trust with their medical care speaking ill of a person they love. Please do not send your family here. Go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I was sedated for a procedure at Westwind Dental, it was nothing short of a 5 star experience. They sensed how nervous I was, explained everything they were doing along with why it was required. For a oral surgical procedure it was as positive as surgury could have been.
