Rhayane who was my dental hygienist was absolutely amazing! I almost dozed off on how gentle she was, and my teeth and gums feel amazing. I’m 47yrs old and she is probably the best dental hygienist I’ve ever had. She was very thorough with her cleaning my teeth and explained what she was doing every step of the way. Thanks Rhayane!!

The office manager Kaila explained my treatment plans and costs with ease and helped me understand everything. My hygienist Sam is an absolute legend, best cleaning I’ve had in years. My kids can sometimes feel nervous about going to the dentist, but the hygienists, Sam and Ro were incredibly patient, gentle, and kind from the moment we walked in. They took the time to explain everything in a way my kids could understand and made them feel completely comfortable. The cleanings were thorough, but still gentle, and my kids actually left smiling and saying they weren't scared anymore-which says everything! You can truly tell the staff cares about making kids feel safe and positive about dental care. We're so grateful to have found this office!

Negative experience: Very painful cleaning, the hygienist didn’t even seem to be paying attention as she was digging into my gums. The dentist told me I needed a crown on a tooth that had a small chip. This did not sound right to me so I travelled to my old dentist for a second opinion. They simply filed the chip out and I was out of there for $42. The Ranch seems to pressure you into unnecessary procedures. I also did not appreciate them sales pitching Invisalign to me three different times.

Fantastic experience: I have been to several different dental offices in Lakewood Ranch but this is the only one that listened to my concerns and treated me accordingly. I would highly recommend them as they are the best! Jessie the hygienist walk we through every step of the cleaning process and made it an enjoyable event. Dr Krauss was wonderful as she explained about what was happening with my teeth and a plan to proceed to keep them healthy. After a year I have finally found my dentist and hygienist that I love!

Negative experience: The initial lady on the phone was very nice, I told her I needed a filling and she explained to me that would be a $1 exam fee, and after the exam they would give me a price for the filling, seemed reasonable. They were even able to book me an appointment the same day. The weird thing was when I came in. They refused to acknowledge the conversation we had on the phone And tried to charge $110 for the exam fee. something that if they did feel like it was truly a mistake they could’ve called prior to the appointment to fix, but they tried to wait until I showed up, so there was a less chance of saying no. $110 is a completely reasonable exam fee IF it was addressed in the beginning, but the unwillingness to honor the quote that was given via the main Business phone just an hour ago the same day definitely screams bad Business and unable to trust them. Would’ve been an easy couple hundred dollar sale for the filling, but the lack of integrity makes it hard to trust.

Fantastic experience: Being new to the Lakewood Ranch area, I do feel lucky I found this gem. While no there is no perfect practice, The Ranch Dental Care comes close. Fantastic experience: I came to The Ranch Dental Care with a mouth more jacked up than the trucks you see driving around Bradenton and a fear of dentistry work equal to North Koreans fear of Kim Jong Un. My first visit, Sam (hygienist) and Dr. Dushala put in perspective the faults I have made with oral care. Later, Sam preformed a deep cleaning and of course it wasn't enjoyable during the process but Sam was extremely gentle along with thorough and mindful of his patients fear. This week, I had an appointment for filling in my front teeth and Dr Dushala has made it so I can smile with my teeth again and be proud of my smile. I also had an emergency dentist visit come up and needed a tooth extracted. Not only did they get me in there asap (same day) Dr Dushala and her assistant in the procedure did a phenomenal job and making me feel comfortable and getting me out of pain. As a side note, because this matters to a lot of people too, the front desk ladies are all very sweet, patient, and understanding. Overall I am beyond thankful for the services they have provided to me and my mouth.

Negative experience: If I could give a negative star I would about this dentistry practice. At first, I thought it seemed like a pretty good dentist Office but boy was I wrong and I would strongly have to say buyer beware. I don’t even know where to begin so I’ll try to sum it up quickly, my mouth is worse since going to them. A four hour root canal that left me infected within 12 hours that required several weeks of antibiotics. The roughness of the dentist, especially in the way she jabs the needle into your gums over and over and over again is barbaric. I’m so traumatized. I can’t remember her name, but I do know she is a new dentist that’s only been practicing for about a year. The crown that they put on another tooth prior to my root canal is not set properly so now my bite is off, causing me jaw pain. The dentist that ruined my mouth also does not have a good bedside manner. I had to go to urgent care because of my root canal, which was so infected, one whole side of my face was triple in size, and that cost me money money because the dentist never called me in an antibiotic as a Justin case. They didn’t offer any type of adequate post procedure, pain reliever, other than the silly Tylenol and Motrin. The stress that this has caused me and finding a new dentist that I can trust is awful. In my opinion buyer beware.

The dentists are very professional and courteous. The wait time is minimal and the office is located close to my neighborhood in an easy access area. I have been here several times and will keep coming back!

Negative experience: New patient and new to Florida. Expected a lot more as a new patient. Went in for my cleaning. Did not know that I was goi g to be sent home after 2 hours there without a cleaning. Was just at my previous dentist 6 months ago and was told that I needed a deep cleaning which I didn’t expect. Have never had one in my life. Previous dentist sent X-rays but office insisted that I have all new X-rays taken. All this and I just went in for my normal cleaning. Had an appointment but wasn’t seen on time. Them took forever to wait for each person to come in and just tell me that I needed to come back the following week.

Fantastic experience: I was struggling to find a great dentist after moving to Florida. After 2 not so great experiences, I was pleasantly surprised with my visit to The Ranch Dental. Everyone was not only nice, but also informative of each step along the way so that I felt comfortable. I couldn’t recommend them higher!

Negative experience: Horrible. Sadly, because I used to love coming here. I just had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience though, and will not be returning. Preface: I haven’t had a single cavity in 5 years. I do everything right: brush twice a day, floss daily, use a water pick daily & mouthwash. Everytime I go to the dentist they tell me I have beautiful teeth with great hygiene, and I do go every 6 months. I’ve been here 3x now since moving here 1.5 years ago (once every 6 months) & they sent be home both times cavity free with a cavity free gift bag. I come back for my 6 month checkup this time and they tell me I have 4 cavities, 3 of which are progressed enough to need filling. How does that happen in 6 months, especially with the oral hygiene I have? Makes no sense. Either they’re lying about my X-rays & I don’t have 4 cavities, or someone previously lied/messed up and sent me home cavity free when I wasn’t. Not to mention the fact that when she pulled them up on the screen, I couldn’t see anything there. When I said I don’t see anything, she again got defensive and said she uses her eyes and AI to confirm. She’s talking to the wrong person because I don’t want AI diagnosing my oral health conditions. Not only is that unacceptable, but as I was arriving they assumed I wanted fluoride treatment, to which I kindly told them no thank you. This would be only my second time in my 28 years of life I have denied a fluoride treatment. When I asked how the above is possible, they blamed it on me not using fluoride. Which makes no sense and diffuses responsibility. Fluoride is for kids with developing enamel and people with a history of tooth decay— I am neither. And even if denying fluoride treatment “causes” cavity development, there’s no way that 4 would pop up in 6 MONTHS!! They also told me I needed to remove my permanent retainer as it’s tricky to clean there. But seeing as how it’s not dirty enough to cause cavities there EVER, I don’t see why I should pay to remove it & then get a permanent retainer instead through them. If it’s not broken, why are we suggesting changing it? I became uncomfortable because as the dentist was explaining all of this, she was not only blaming me, but being very defensive and getting offended. She wrapped things up by saying we should schedule the retainer removal and getting a new one moulded, and filling my 4 cavities, to which I said, “I know it’s not your fault because you’re new” she immediately, defensively cut me off and said “new to the practice, not new”. I said, “right… at this point my trust is lost and I’d like to go somewhere else.” To which she got up and stormed out. I felt so uncomfortable having to advocate for myself and be met with medical manipulation. I now have to go somewhere else to redo all the X-rays and identify what is actually going on with my teeth. I have a creeping suspicion that between the cavities that aren’t visible on X-ray and only she could see that would’ve had to pop up in 6 months with the same outstanding oral hygiene, the unnecessary retainer recommendation, and their lack of professionalism, they may be trying to make money where not necessary for patients. All this not to mention my hygienist was horrible. He was hurting me the entire time (I don’t have any oral pain at all), his hands smelled bad, & was literally water boarding me. The water sprayer was constantly angled to spray my face so much that he just gave me a tissue to wipe it off every 30 seconds and I had water running down my neck!! And then he only polished the top row, he skipped the bottom entirely. I will not be returning & suggest you do the same.

Fantastic experience: Perfect office if you have dental anxiety! All the staff is kind and compassionate. I believe “Dee” the dental assistant, let me go on my own pace with the dental Xrays. They are really uncomfortable because I have strong gag reflex for me. She let me know, she had same struggle and offered a solution to help distract me. It helped enough to get good images and we didn’t have to retake any. Jerry, the dental hygienist was very gentle with my mouth. He kindly educated me that I was applying to much pressure when brushing. Dr. Kraus was very kind and compassionate. She was very transparent on what cavities I needed to be filled. She had instrument that took pictures of your teeth( not an X-ray) and I was able to see what she was talking about. She offered a treatment plan that included nitrous gas. The day of treatment everything went smoothly and as comfortable as possible. The nitrous gas help ed not be anxious and recommend if you dental anxiety. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!

Negative experience: This office is completely unprofessional and unreliable. At least 5 or 6 times they've cancelled appointments on members of our family (myself, my son and my husband). My son drove 4 hours each way to come home for his cleaning and then they couldn't "find" his Advantage 1 dental plan so they cancelled the appointment on him after he had been sitting in the chair for 40 minutes waiting for them to figure it out. He had been there 6 months earlier and there was no problem "finding" his dental plan. So the dentist made him leave the office. Then the billing woman I was on the phone with trying to figure it out, literally hung up on me and then they wouldn't answer the call when I called back. TOTALLY 100 % unprofessional - I strongly urge you to pick a different location. WE also had a huge fiasco last year where they scheduled my son for a cleaning appointment, but then said they didn't have time to do it so he had to come back the next day (which did't work bc he was leaving town). Also, I had specifically called ahead and told them NOT to do a panoramic X-ray bc my son had JUST had one done (I didn't want him getting more unnecessary radiation), and their office was so disorganized that they accidentally did the X-ray anyway. The whole experience has been terrible. Go somewhere else - there are many excellent options in this area. Read their reviews on Yelp too.

Negative experience: I waited a long time to write this review. This practice gives the minimal amount of care. It’s unfortunate because I think most of the support staff and front staff are doing the best they can with this being a corporation owned dental practice. It started going severely downhill when they started losing dentists. That should have been the first red flag. You won’t get comprehensive exams after your cleanings. You only get one every 13 months, which is the bare minimum in accordance with Florida law. The only dentist left is unfortunately not very patient care focused. I have never had a positive experience with her. She also missed a cavity on my last appointment for a crown—which I never even received after waiting for an hour and a half as the first appointment of the day. I was concerned about a sensitive tooth, which I have never had. They took more x-rays, and she apparently looked them over from a different room. I had to ask the assistant if my tooth was looked at, she said yes Dr. Krauss said it was fine and due to getting older. Lo and behold my dentist now said that there is a buckle, my old filling is pulling away and thank god she diagnosed me so I can save it. The newest office manager is very kind and helpful, the dental hygienists are sweet; albeit some a bit inexperienced. However that dentist there Dr. Krauss, is the worst I have ever come in contact with. Absolutely no bedside manner and doesn’t care about the integrity of your teeth. She almost seems smug or condescending. Although, I should be thankful. Due to her lack of treatment, care, the office constantly cancelling and rescheduling my appointments; I found my dentist who used to work here. Which was meant to be. Just wanted to warn others this is a corporate owned office driven by greed. Minimal care, with only one dentist left who will be in maternity leave soon anyway. Incorrectly charges the wrong insurance for months. And will make you wait on average 30 minutes to an hour for your appointment no matter what time of day it is. Or will just change your appointments consistently. If you want a dentist who cares about the integrity of your teeth, has kind and gentle bedside manner, and will diagnose you properly, do not go here. I’m sorry to write this, but this was the most uncaring experience I have ever had at a dental office.

Fantastic experience: The Ranch Dental Care is awesome! Went yesterday for my first visit. Greeted by very friendly staff and everyone I dealt with from then to end of my visit were the same. Polite, professional and just very nice. Then I found out a cleaning isn’t part of first visits. Then guess what happened? They actually fit me in for a cleaning in one hour. Who does that? No health care provider that I’ve ever been to. Everyone there gets an A+ from me! Great job!

Negative experience: Over the last two and a half years, I have significant deterioration in service. Three of my appointments were canceled on the same day of service and I got rescheduled. Only to see another delay. I have also seen a high turn over of dentists. The staff do not keep you informed of when there is a delay or show any appreciation to your time.

I was cold when I was there and they were thoughtful enough to get me a warm blanket- it was so nice! They treated me very well and took great care of my teeth. The hygienist was so informative and the dentist was warm and engaging. Switching my whole family over to them! Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Horrible. I was there for my annual checkup, where the dentist is supposed to examine my mouth. She did not even come in the room. The hygienist was running back and forth between me and her because he said I had a problem and she diagnosed me from her office without looking at me. I have been going here 2 years and they have been open a little over 2 years and she is the fourth dentist they have had here since they opened, I am getting the feeling there is something wrong here.
