Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Monarch Dental in Duncanville recently! I was needing to get my exams done and teeth cleaned. From the moment I made the call to set up an appointment, they got me a same day slot and was able to get both the exam and cleaning done the same day. The receptionist, office manager, x-ray technician, medical assistants, dental hygienist and dentist I saw were all so friendly and helpful. In particular, Trameika, my dental hygienist, was awesome and made sure to brighten my smile again. Furthermore, Dr. Hussein, my dentist, noticed a broken filling and was able to get me a new filling the same day as my exam/cleaning. The team was able to utilize my insurance to the fullest and I paid very little out of pocket for everything. I’m definitely going back and would recommend this location highly!

Fantastic experience: Everyone was kind, gentle and caring, I felt relaxed even though I do not enjoy coming to the Dentist office.

Negative experience: The staff was friendly, however, it was difficult to get an appointment. I changed insurances, so this was my first experience here. They did disclose that there was a possibility they could not do an exam and cleaning in the same day, which I feel is very odd for a dentist office. After my exam, they told me I had a cavity and would “send someone over to go over my treatment plan for today”, insinuating that I would be getting the cavity filled and a cleaning that day. Well, once I opted to not get the filling that day, they said they were unable to do the cleaning. Then, they said the next availability to get my teeth cleaned was a month out. It felt to me like they were not doing the cleaning because they would not make money and I was opting out of a filling. I could have misinterpreted what they were saying, but it felt very shady. I decided to go pay out of pocket and get a second opinion from my old dentist, and they said I do not have a cavity. It all felt very unethical to me. The lady who did my X-rays was lovely, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1.

Negative experience: The worst dental office I've ever been to very dismissive ignored all of my concerns about being in constant pain even when I told them I can't afford the treatment. Sent me home with ibuprofen. I guess I need to be white for them to believe I’m in actual pain. I called to let the dentist know I am still in aching pain and no one answered.

Negative experience: When I booked the appointment I asked specifically if the checkup and cleaning are done the same day. I was told it would be. My son showed up for his appointment and was told 39 minutes into it that the cleaning would need to be scheduled for another day because they had no one there to clean his teeth. He immediately called me. Then the assistant that was working with him said, "I'm done" and walked out when he questioned her about this. I told him to go ahead and leave since they can't perform what was scheduled and these people had the nerve to charge him and send an invoice five minutes after he left.

Fantastic experience: I'm trying Monarch Dental after having had another dentist for 35 or so years. Now that I'm retired, I needed to find a dentist who would work with Medicare. Today, I had two fillings done. Even though one of them was very deep, I've had virtually no pain and it is now 6 hours since the filling was completed. The service has been good and the staff seems friendly and ready to serve new customers. To this point, I've been pleased.

I was really nervous about my visit today, but the staff welcomed me warmly and made me feel at ease. Trameika was the one who worked on my teeth, and she was incredibly kind and gentle. She helped me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Trameika also gave me some excellent suggestions on toothpaste and floss, and she even taught me the proper way to floss. Negative experience: The Monarch in Duncanville I will not recommend them. The first visit I have to wait 2 1/2 hours just for exam. The second for the cleaning Tomika didn’t clean my teeth because I have braces but when they did the exam the saw I have braces they didn’t said anything. No one told me I have cavities on the first visit and Tomika is the one who said I have cavities. Tomika didn’t clean my teeth I complained to Jasmine and Helen said she will have to charge me to clean them. I got the orthopedic there to able to not have this issue. Now after the mistake they said I have to set appointment with both to remove braces and have them clean next year. I call to talk to Helen about this and she just said the will have to charge to clean them I feel the since they didn’t tell me on the exam is the fault they should have to do it. This office they do have ID caller and they put you in hold without said anything using other number I find Jasmine were doing that is just not good customer service not good communication with patients. If you complained to them the look at you like you the bad person. Don’t go to this office both time they made other people to wait running behind. The dentist Maria she put the material they use to fix the teeth all over my tooth and before fix it she even show me the issue. The leave a email as for people to write they issue but is been a while no one have reach. I had call HQ and leave messages and no one answer it see like they don’t care of the patient.

Negative experience: 0 zero stars Here’s a polished version for your Google review: Avoid Dr. ( chuckle ) Farbode Karimi and Monarch Dental in Duncanville, TX! I had the most horrific experience with Dr. Farbode Karimi on 11/27/2024, the day before Thanksgiving. I went in for dental work, including the extraction of two bottom teeth and applying desensitizer to two top teeth. What followed was a nightmare. He could’ve killed me .! Dr. Karimi injected me with anesthesia over 17 times, and I felt every single shot. I had a visible gum infection, which I pointed out beforehand, but he ignored it. Because of the infection, the anesthesia didn’t work, making the experience excruciating. When he realized he couldn’t proceed, I was kicked out of the office and told to take Tylenol and Advil for the pain. They sent antibiotics to CVS, but there was no real concern for my well-being. The next day, I couldn’t even open my mouth, and I’m still in pain from the injections nearly two weeks later. This place cares only about money—not patients. If you value your health, avoid Monarch Dental and Dr. Karimi at all costs!

The dental hygienist was very gentle, the X-rays went well and I actually was seen by the dentist and he put a treatment on my teeth. Before the dentist never looked at my teeth after a cleaning ((I guess she is gone) they were also on time with my appointment. I am liking the improvements.

The office staff very thorough and knowledgeable. Will never go anywhere else. Today 9/25/24 Dentist Dr Karimi and assistant RDA Kevon gave me excellent care, Especially Kevon who was especially customer service oriented, making sure I was comfortable as could be. He was so pleasant and kind while doing his work. Also he was knowledgeable about his job. He will go far in Denistry because of his positive attitude.

Fantastic experience: I didn’t know what to expect since I haven’t been in Monarch for quite sometime. My familiar staff was not there, but the new staff made me feel welcome as well. The Orthodontic told me what to avoid, what to include in my dental hygiene experience and the x-ray technician assured me that they would consider areas that are painful to press down on while photographing. Yes, I had an overall pleasant experience.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with my experience. I came in 30 minutes early still took 30 minutes past appointment time to get to the back. So they told me come back at 2pm and I could get my tooth extracted. They got me right back and right before they pulled it they asked for the payment ‍♂️ I gave her my card but the manager left. So the very helping lady Brittney gave me my card back ( she was the one I felt bad because I took the hour wait out on her but she was very sweet so I gave her back the same energy). I get my tooth extracted and they gave me 0 work excuse 0 pain or antibiotics meds. Not to mention they put stitches in my gums. So that was last Tuesday 8/20 here we are Tuesday 8/27. I’ve been taking at least 10 500mg Tylenol with other meds just to not be n pain. I still can’t get up for work at 4 am because I wake up at 2 in pain. So yesterday I called at 9am (cause I couldn’t go to work) she told me to come at 2pm‍♂️ (long time and a lot of ibuprofen and Tylenol later) I get there at 130 so it’s no excuse and I am hurting. Well after 2:15 and not being attended to I left. Not to mention I even singed up for there insurance because the Brittney lady made me feel so comfortable. They got me out of a lot of hard earned money for me to be feeling this way and not taking care of! Now of course I hope I still have a job seeing how I don’t have much sick or vacation time and my supervisor is a by the book no excuse guy. Moral of the story is if you don’t mind being in PAIN, maybe infection, waisting TIME, MONEY, possibly losing your job, and not being taken care of THIS THE DENTIST for YOU Ps. Don’t send me a reply saying how you are so sorry about my experience. SHOW US

Fantastic experience: Trameika did an excellent job on cleaning my teeth. She wasn’t an Ahole like other people. She was genuine, gentle and detailed with the entire process.

Negative experience: The experience I had with Monarch Dental in Duncanville TX, was the most horrific experience that I have ever experienced with a Dentist. I went in to have a split tooth extracted. Never did I think that having one tooth extracted would take over 30 minutes to do. The novakan the Dentist used did not deaden the gum before he tried to pull the tooth. He shot my mouth no less than 7 times and each time I felt that needle go thru my gums. I thought I would pass out from the pain. The hygienist, Brittney, tried her best to console me and encouraged me to slow down my breathing. After the tooth was extracted the Dentist dug more into my gum because he then discovered I had an absess on that gum. The tooth that was pulled was a bottom right front tooth.I was not given any kind of antibiotics nor pain medication. I was told to take Tylenol and Advil together if I continued to experience pain. I also bled profusely. It was not until around 10:00 that night before the bleeding stopped. My procedure was around 4:30 that afternoon. This was the kind of experience that causes people to never want to go to a Dentist. I still have more dental work that needs to be done but It will be a long time before I will trust a Dentist again. I certainly will not go back to your Duncanville location.

Negative experience: I have been trying to make a appt with the dentist for the past 6 weeks and no one has ever return my call and today I have tried calling to make to make a appt and I would be placed on hold for over 20mins... This is ridiculous for the office not to have good patient care..

Fantastic experience: Update April 2024 Dr. Shahdad and her assistant Nyla worked together well while finishing a procedure on my tooth. Dr. Shahdad was very reassuring and gentle just before giving me the shot, and it didn't even hurt to my surprise! When my jaw became slightly uncomfortable due to having it open for some time, Nyla automatically started massaging my jaw to help ease it, and it worked. Nyla and Dr. Shahdad are compassionate people who I can tell love what they do! ---------------------------------- REVIEW: FEB. 2024 Dr. Abidoye and her team were awesome! I felt completely at ease with the competency of her and her staff. Dr. Abidoye has what I call, gentle hands while she administered the shots in my mouth. I was always asked if I was doing ok, and I felt like she really paid attention to any discomfort that I displayed. At one point while getting my crowns applied, I felt bad because it was taking me a while to feel the comfort of the crown adjustments, and Dr. Abidoye was so patient and reassuring, that my anxiety went away. My crowns are beautifully matched, thanks to her super sweet hygienist (I don't remember her name). Overall, I had a great experience, and wouldn't hesitate to give referrals. _______________________________________ Oct. 2022..... I haven't had work done yet, so I will update when I do, but my first visit left a good impression! This was my first time at this dentist office, and everyone I came in contact with was friendly and courteous, even the dentist Dr. Cartwright. The office is clean, and they still practice covid safety by patients and staff wearing masks, hand sanitizer available in areas, and they ask that the patient does a minty mouth rinse that they provide to you. I feel confident that when I get work done here soon, it should go well. I will let you know......

Negative experience: I started a new job and was sent here by my insurance. Dentist saw me and said I had a cavity and would need a crown/ deep cleaning. I had just seen my other insurance dentist who did not mention needing such aggressive and expensive treatment. When I declined the expensive "deep cleaning" I was refused care. Overall, I felt uneasy about the treatment plan and it seemed like they wanted to rack up services to get a bigger claim. I floss daily and I see the dentist regularly so I can not believe the diagnosis of severe gingivitis and it seemed like a scare tactic. Needless to say, a very poor experience and waste of my time.

Negative experience: I'm not impressed with the new dentist that took over for my previous dentist, Dr. Darren Cartwright. She a nice lady, but the first time she did my dental work, she didn't do good work, then I gave her another more chance to do a filling, yesterday, but I wasn't satisfied with her work yesterday either. There won't be a third time, so I'm looking for another dentist.

Negative experience: This was a me of the worst Dental experiences I have had. Now let me just say the customer service from the Dental Assistant(Brittany) was amazing. The intake admin team great. But the dentist and the lady before her NOT SO MUCH. The dentist broke literally left before finishing advising of the treatment plan she suggested. My mom called right when she was going over what she suggested, I asked if I could take this. Mom said she was ready to get picked up and would be out front. I hung up and the assistant said let’s got to the front. I get there and I am confused as to what is going on. I asked the front desk lady where was the dentist to finish telling me the next step, she informed me that the dentist had gone home. I said for the day! She said umm yes. I said but she was telling me my plan and she just left. She said yes. I will never return here.
