Negative experience: The dentist was very nice and gentle. Ended up having to go to other dentist due to this place tried forcing me to get other services I didn't need . Went to 2 other dentist for second and 3rd thoughts on my problem both other dentist said I didn't need the services for witch monarch was trying forse me to get just to get infected tooth pulled . Witch was about $500 dollars more.

Negative experience: Ten years ago I was a patient here. Today I just had to pay 2,000€ to get an implant plus have 2 other revisions of root canal’s done by a dentist here. THE WORK DOES NOT LAST. I also remember the embarrassment I felt when my dentist and dental assistant literally laughing at me when I told them I have medical anxiety and wanted nitros for my procedure. Apparently my occupation lead them to believe I shouldn’t have anxiety. I’m now paying AGAIN for teeth I’ve already paid for and nothing ever happened to the horrible women working there. They still got paid for a botched procedure. Just don’t go here. It’s a chain and there’s no respect. Go find a private practice where you are valued and treated like a person.

My visit to the Waxahaxhie, Tx Monarch Dental Office meeting Dr. Anyanwu (Dr. A) and the staff was 'AWESOMENESS!!!!' I will make referrals to this location including my family. My procedure was pain-free yet professionally performed. I seek to have the whitest teeth in town.

Negative experience: Extremely Disappointed with Monarch Dental – Poor Communication and Lack of Patient Care I am incredibly frustrated with the experience I had with this dental office. I called after 8:00 a.m.—well after their posted opening time—and was placed on hold for 17 minutes, only to be hung up on without speaking to anyone. I called back immediately, and before I could even explain my situation or express my frustration, I was placed on hold again. As someone who is diabetic and currently dealing with a serious tooth issue, I was simply trying to find out what steps I needed to take. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even get through to schedule an appointment, let alone speak with someone who seemed to care. What’s even more troubling is that when I contacted another Monarch location to share my experience, the representative laughed and said they were going to place me on hold again. This only made it clear to me that patient concerns are not being taken seriously, and it feels like there is a complete lack of urgency or compassion for people with real medical needs. If this office is so understaffed that they can't answer phones properly, I truly don’t understand how they maintain such high ratings. Based on this experience, I will not be scheduling any appointments with Monarch Dental in the future. Patients deserve better—especially when dealing with pain and urgent health concerns.

Fantastic experience: Honestly, several years ago, I was a patient at this office. I could not WAIT to go somewhere else. When my insurance changed and I HAD to go to this place, I was not excited. MY OPINION IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOW! From the first phone call (to Inspector Taylor, lol) to finding out how much I would have to pay....to getting a tooth pulled, EVERY SINGLE PERSON in this office was INCREDIBLE! Going to the dentist is not the first thing on anyone's list - but if I could recommend this place to anyone or everyone, I would!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at this Monarch Dental in Waxahachie. First of all, their very efficient office staff guided me through the usual maze of medicare and insurance authorizations. The hygienist got me through a badly needed cleaning with a great deal of care. Dr. Anyanwu is marvelous and has a positive attitude. She minimized any discomfort I had. I highly recommend this place.

Negative experience: Dr. Anyanwu and her office manager Sherry have really disappointed me. I stuck it out here despite the high cost, an incident of paying for numbing which was not actually done (causing immense pain during and after a cleaning and gum procedure), having an appointment rescheduled last minute due to the office being closed unexpectedly, and incidents of passive-aggression from Sherry on other occasions (including misgendering me repeatedly over the phone). After specifically asking for non-opioid pain management that would not conflict with my other pain medication at least four separate times, both in person and over the phone, and being repeatedly told something would be sent to the pharmacy for me, I still received nothing. I asked about it again after my appointment today. Dr. Anyanwu ordered me antibiotics, and offered me ibuprofen, then simply walked away from me when I reminded her I cannot take that with my other prescription. When I asked Sherry for help, she immediately responded with accusations of drug-seeking, speaking over me, repeating “we don’t do that here,” and escalating in volume until I gave up (in tears) trying to explain what I needed and left. Her handling of the situation was actually shocking. I canceled my future appointments at this location and requested paperwork showing my treatment plan to bring to my next dentist, and only then did Sherry show any kind of actual concern. Sherry then tried to tell me it was a misunderstanding, which she blamed me for and tried to gaslight me about. She then expressed very firmly that there’s nothing they could to help with my pain except give me more antibiotics, to which I said that was fine and all she needed to say. Half an hour later, Sherry called me at home to “apologize”. The story changed again. Now she was claiming that Dr. Anyanwu IS able to offer me the extra-strength Tylenol I asked for in the first place, and apologized for her “misunderstanding,” claiming that she didn’t know that ibuprofen is unsafe to take with my other medication. The problem wasn’t that she didn’t know…it’s that she didn’t believe me, and didn’t care enough to even check before blowing me off. I told her I felt that this was not a matter of misunderstanding or lack of education, but discrimination and a lack of empathy. Sherry responded by asking IF MY OTHER PAIN MEDICATION (diclofenac) WAS ACTUALLY PRESCRIBED BY A DOCTOR! I told her that was incredibly offensive, and reminded her that all of the information she needed regarding my dosage of medication, physician and pharmacy info, etc was right there on my intake paperwork. I was extremely clear about it from day one. If anyone had bothered to listen to me, there would be no “misunderstanding” to be had! I’ve never been treated with this discourtesy, discrimination, and utter lack of empathy and professionalism at any of the other Monarch Dental locations I’ve worked with for the last 10+ years. Sherry absolutely ruined my experience here, but I don’t believe Dr. Anyanwu cared much for me in the first place or we wouldn’t have gotten to this point. I will never be back.

Negative experience: My dental crown did not fit and was returned. This office has failed to refund me for the poor workmanship and damages. This office also provided unnecessary services repeatedly and attempted to charge me when my insurance company would not cover those unwarranted services. That reply is unbelievable!!! I have made several attempts to work with your office (as you are aware), but your office manager Ms. Hanks does not return my calls nor respond to emails. I absolutely do not recommend this company!!! People beware!!! Monarch/Smile Brand ignores clients who have an issue with poor workmanship, which is unprofessional and unacceptable. I have contacted the BBB for assistance with resolving this matter in a fair and reasonable manner. I should not have to wait months (over a year) when I still have an exposed tooth structure that's missing a crown because I returned the defective crown to your office months ago. Please respond!!!

Fantastic experience: I recently had a bit of a dental emergency and was having a hard time finding an opening. Checked with Monarch and they were able to get me in first thing in the morning. Very friendly and professional staff. They were unable to to perform the procedure I needed but hustled to find me a specialist in their network that was also covered by my insurance. They got me an appointment within the hour nearby and I was able to get my tooth taken care of by noon that day. Highly recommend Monarch!

Positive experience: The staff is professional and respectful. The updated imaging equipment was impressive because most officers do not have their imaging capabilities for dental. And they will explain, explain the procedure you are about to go through, and that is good. I need to check with my provider to see why they can only do a deep cleaning of half of your mouth at a time because they will not pay for a full visit procedure at one time!

Negative experience: RUN. I Set an appointment on a mon for fri that week. The appointment was confirmed through txt the day before. When i arrive the staff tells me the dentist is not in, they won't be able to see me, and that reached out. All i got was a confirmation txt and as i showed it to the manager she YELLS at me saying "It's the systems fault! Not ours!" As i exclaimed my concern for a time sensitive issue she YELLED again "We don't offer that procedure here anyway!" And sent me on my way didn't reschedule me or have concern for my well being. RUN, they are very unprofessional. I wouldn't trust them to work on me, i won't be back. The other 1 star reviews here are adding up.

Negative experience: Terrible place. Rescheduled our initial appointment because they said they could not get the cleaning done on the same day. Even with rescheduling and confirming that we had a date the hygienist would be in office - they said they could not do the cleaning. Service and wait times were terrible. Do not use this establishment without getting a second opinion elsewhere. Lessons learned.

Negative experience: 1) Get a second opinion before you allow this office to do a deep cleaning 2) He was in braces for over 5 years and they were overly corrected. The orthodontist was informed that he wanted this corrected, but his request was ignored due to concern of the roots. The orthodontist was mainly concerned with his bite, which did improve. He was told by his orthodontist that he was a "hard case".

Negative experience: I literally just walked out. I have dental insurance and I have very good insurance across the board. I'm also very well paid but these people are highway robbers. They literally quoted me over $1,000 to pull a tooth. Getting a tooth pulled for 100 to 200 is very easy to find don't give them business because the best thing for the average person is to put them out of business. I technically had a couple to pull and once I saw the price tag I told him how much is it to pull one and at that exact moment they suddenly didn't have time to deal with me they said I would have to come back another day having already put their little cloth across my chest ready to do the pulling

Negative experience: I didn’t get a complete work they were too busy for me. My appointment was at 2:00pm but the staff told me to wait after an hour or so nap I noticed that it was 5:30 so I told them I’ll come another day.

Negative experience: Deep cleaning must be the new money maker...had the same issue as the other reviewer. Dentist stabbed the heck out of my gums then said there was a lot of bleeding. YEA BECAUSE YOU JUST STABBED THE FRONT AND BACK SIDE OF THE GUM ON EVERY TOOTH! I've never had an issue with my teeth or gums so for it to suddenly be horrible is not realistic. This was also after i sat waiting for an hour and a half. The problem was they over booked themselves and didn't even have a hygenist to do my cleaning. WILL NOT BE BACK!

Negative experience: I went to the office in Waxahachie because of a toothache and they did my annual x-ray and dental measurements. Told me that I was finished for the day and to go setup my appointment for a deep cleaning and root canal. I asked about an extraction instead and was told, they would have to ask the doctor. I never received a call back. I called the following day and was told that they are still waiting on the doctor to look at my chart and still no call back. The toothache was never addressed

Negative experience: They are slow, you have to wait for a really long time in the lobby to see the dentist and the cleaning lady they almost forgot to take my teeth exray they almost forgot that I had to see the dentist then the dentist had treatment to do on someone so I didn’t even see the dentist

Fantastic experience: Carol Wald is the best! Put me at ease when I had to get my first crown. I trust her wisdom and experience to take care of me when I need a big procedure done. Also, Brenda the hygienist is pretty darn fantastic as well. These ladies are rockin it!

Negative experience: I would rather die of gum disease and cavities of all kinds than to deal with the lady dentist that is here on Fridays in Waxahachie! She was HORRIBLE!! The staff was great! Sad that the most important part which is the lady dentist here is a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE OF A HUMAN!!

Negative experience: I feel like I pretty much wasted my time. I didn’t do the treatment plan they recommended and therefore they wouldn’t do my standard cleaning. Never experienced that before.

Negative experience: Not reliable and wastes your time. I took off work two separate times to get a procedure done and each time the dentist either “didn’t have time to do the procedure” that day or he simply wasn’t there. I told them I was going somewhere else because they didn’t care about me as a patient and what I have to do in personal life to get days off for appointments.

Negative experience: Another dentist that does a check up and says you need a deep cleaning for $2k plus.. when I had one 6 months ago at another dentist.. hmm…

Negative experience: WASTE OF TIME! I came here as a new patient because old dentist dropped my insurance. It took an hour to do x-rays, check teeth and gums. It’s normal to get all that as a new patient but I also wanted a cleaning.. I was told I don’t need it so she didn’t do it. Aren’t you supposed to get cleaning every 6 months?? This place also needs a super update it felt like an old outdated hospital and smells of my Mexican gmas house. Nope just never coming back. I’ve been going to dentist for 30 years I have never had such a bad experience ever.. go somewhere else!! I wish I had read the reviews I was just skimming through dentists my insurance covered….

Negative experience: I wish I could give them no stars at all!! As I'm sitting her in the lobby with a whole lobby full of people that has been here since 9 and 10am this morning and it is now 2:49p. My husband had a appointment for 11:30am and still has yet to be seen for his oral surgery! They make you pay for your surgery when you book in advance.. just so they can have your money and you're kinda trapped. I went to the front after sitting for 2 hours and asked about the delay..Was told they were running behind I told the surgery coordinator (dont know her name)that they could have given a common curiosity to the people that been wait 2-4 hours ..I told her Im sure that none of them would want to wait over 2 hours to have teeth removed.. she goes on to tell me well I've been there since 6am.. maam I don't care.. this is very unprofessional.. people drove over two hours to be seen just to sit in the lobby. They only had one surgeon. .. please run! Don't come here to get your oral surgery done. They over book and your whole day will be wasted! Update we left close to 5pm.. smh.. so almost 5 1/2 hours later

Negative experience: Staff may be the only reason I gave it 2 stars, they are very nice. The system they use for scheduling is not good. They are always backed up and not clear of instructions. If it is a simple procedure, they are better at managing the daily schedule. If it is a surgery or more complex procedure, odds are you will be delayed a couple of hours. i have been delayed for more than 3 hours. Seems like they schedule as many people as they can within a specific hour and hope for everything go smoothly, which is hard for things to go as planned. When anything can delay the schedule (paperwork, patients, doctors, surgery, etc.)

Negative experience: FROM $270 to $1,900. I went in without pain and they said my tooth needed a crown and possible root canal. I went in and they got the X-ray and the dentist assured me and front desk that the dentist was able to perform the root canal if needed. The reason I went with the procedure was because they ASSURED me the general dentist was able to do it since I have an insurance that doesn’t cover the procedure if is not done by general dentist. They put a crown and I am in pain and can’t bite and sensitive. I go in and they adjust the crown and I AGAIN ask the dentist “hey I think I need that root canal” and she said just wait 2 more weeks, etc etc. I called again like she said after 2 week of constant pain and can’t bite on my right side and guess what? Dentist is saying that after looking at the X-RAY “FROM ANOTHER ANGLE” she can’t do the procedure and that I needed to go to a specialist and they charge $1,900 to do the root canal. How were you not able to tell me this before me getting a crown done? All they have to say to me is “I am sorry” now I am forced to find a specialist to do a root canal and pay $1,800 because I am in PAIN when before I was in NO PAIN and if it wasn’t for the dentist telling me they can do it I wasn’t going to do the procedure since I was not in pain and don’t have that much money to do this.

Fantastic experience: Great friendly atmosphere the minute you walk through the doors. Excellent customer service, the orthodontist really listened to my concerns for my daughter and his examination and expertise was fantastic!! Way to go team, keep up the superb job!!! Well done!!

Fantastic experience: My husband William and I went to Monarch and they were very professional and answered all the questions we had. They were very patient with me as they were taking the x-rays as my mouth is small and it was taking a little longer to take the x-rays.

Positive experience: Typical Dental office. They weren't overly friendly, not rude. The 1-smile program is pretty good, but for wisdom teeth too expensive! The Wisdom Guys are much cheaper and that is their speciality!

Positive experience: Generally the staff at Monarch is friendly and helpful. I feel that I receive quality care each visit and that I’m satisfied with the level of service I receive. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of timeliness. My last two appointments were significantly delayed. One appointment I waited almost 2 hours after my appointment time and this last appointment I waited over 3 hours past my appointment time. I understand sometimes there are unexpected complications or the doctors may get behind but 3 hours is half a day. I shouldn’t have to plan to lose an entire day for a cleaning.

Negative experience: Had an appointment at 2pm for my elderly father in pain and who hadn't eaten in anticipation for this procedure. Not one person checked in with us or reassured us we were not forgotten. No eta was given. We waited an hour and 40 minutes with no contact from staff sitting just a few feet away. I guess this office has forgotten that patients are people and customers. At the very least some of this procedure fee should be refunded. This is unacceptable.

Negative experience: I had an unacceptable dental appointment. First off, I made my six months appt for my dental cleaning after my initial cleaning only to find out the day before my appt. that it was cancelled by the office because they did not have a hygienist. I called the office to find out because I didn't not receive a confirmation email or text as I had in the past. So the office failed to inform me of the cancellation they made to my appointment. I was then told that my appt would be scheduled as soon as they had a hygienist; I would not have to call they would set it up and then I could agree for the appt spot. So, months later I'm waiting and hear nothing from the office. I call the office and find out they have a hygienist now and I MADE MY appt for 10am. (Not the office as I was told.) So, I show up to my appt 15min early check in and wait. I get back to a room about 10:30. Only to be told at 11:30 that the hygienist is busy and I can return at 1pm that afternoon. I am pregnant and waited two hrs to get my teeth cleaned only to be told that the hygienist is busy??? I had a scheduled appt I was not a walk in. I was a current patient. This was completely unacceptable and to add to the frustrating situation I was asked to sign a payment form for services that did not take place! I did not sign the form because my teeth were not cleaned. This office has broken my trust and showed no integrity for scheduled appts. The only saving grace of this office is Brittany at the front desk who was very kind and the technician who spent the most time with me in my room while I waited.

Negative experience: Only 1 out of 5 visits and attempts at having visits were acceptable for my wife and I. I gave up on them after my second request for an appointment was ignored and my wife's second appointment was cancelled without any notice. However, my wife still tried to give them another chance, only to be there for 2 hours, watching other people have their appointments completed, only to be told that the hygienist didn't have time to clean her teeth. It pains me to hear my wife so upset after how they've treated her. This place has been deplorable for us, and we are not giving them anymore business.

Negative experience: The wait time was horrible. 45+ minutes to get called back. Office is outdated and does not seem sanitary. We’re given googles that we’re already previously used. The dental assistant was not personable and did not give good direction/assistance while taking pictures, which also took an extended period of time. The dental HYGENIST was more knowledgeable than Dr who seen me first. Dr stated they did not see a problem, but HYGENIST found all kind of problems. Only 1 HYGENIST, she was going to pt to pt did not wash hands or change gloves in between, she was stretched very thin. Horrible staff organization, will not visit or refer anyone to this office or organization. They did not deserve even 1 star, but it is the only way to get to write a review.

Fantastic experience: We have been going to the Waxahachie Monarch Dental office for over a year. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They take time to explain everything to you and genuinely care about your health. They work with your insurance and make everything easy. Highly recommend!

Positive experience: Due to staff being short handed the usually smooth visit took longer than usual. All very professional & personable.

Negative experience: Rude and unprofessional front office staff. Rescheduled my appointment 4 times, the last time promising a call back and heard nothing. Holly in the front office was rude and snarky on the phone, hanging up on me. They are also misinformed on CDC guidelines that they try to say is law. No documentation that face masks were required and the appointment scheduler even said they were optional for patients. Glad to know they make up their own rules on CDC guidelines, which they can enforce anything it's their business, however they will not be getting my business.
