Fantastic experience: There is no better pediatric experience then Young Smiles. We personally drive an hour from the Appleton area and gladly so. They are the most understanding, friendly, and highest equipped with different options to service kids we’ve come across. We have had notable horrible experiences elsewhere, which has given us some hiccups, as well as I am always very leery after some of our experiences elsewhere- but I place FULL trust in this business, and it’s been well above earned. If you are looking for an HONEST practice, that truly loves and cares for kids, Young Smiles is your fit. I have 3 young kids 5 and under by myself when I come in and I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone’s help, kindness, support and understanding while we pummel through 3 appts back to back. We reccomend Young Smiles to everyone in the Appleton area as well. The honest and caring experience is entirely worth the drive. I wish nothing but the best for this practice- they are truly the hidden gem!

Fantastic experience: My two kids have been going to Young Smiles for the past 3 years. They absolutely love Dr. Rau! We drive from Green Bay just to go to his practice because my kids love his office and staff so much. Everyone has always been professional, understanding, and I have never felt pressured to do anything. It is worth the trip to go to Young Smiles. The facility is super clean with lots of things for kids to do while they wait. I can’t recommend Dr. Rau and Young Smiles enough!

Fantastic experience: First time taking my 13 month old to the dentist due to a concern in one of his teeth, and they listened and validated my concern. Reassured me that it was something that should be ok but that we will continue to watch as it comes in better. My son did so well and I’m certain it’s from how friendly and approachable the hygienist and Dr. Clint Rau are will certainly be taking little man there for future visits.

Negative experience: The dentist and staff were not very good with kids. They could have been more gentle. Our son was scared to go to the dentist and they didn't know how to work with him to calm him down, instead they yelled at him which didn't make things better. Not going back since we had such bad service.

Fantastic experience: So very thankful for Dr. Clint Rau and his staff. I had a weekend emergency where my 4 year old son fell off his bike and had one of his teeth come out. I was so relief to be able to call his Dentist and get seen on Monday. Talk about great service.

Fantastic experience: I liked that the assistant talked to my son to make him feel less nervous. I also liked that she explained that it was important to floss and brush. Sometimes my son brushes too quickly. Young smiles is proving to be a good dentist for my son.

Negative experience: I have been taking my children to this dentist for years. I would prefer them as they were always kind to me and my kids. The last couple of times I was unfortunately late less then 10 mins. This last time I got to the clinic at 8:09 they called me and before I could answer the receptionist said "She is always late." I am a single mother of three kids raising them on my own and I am doing my best. In a world so cruel it cost nothing to be compassionate to people doing there best to servive.

Fantastic experience: Dr Rau and staff at Young Smiles were amazing! They got my 2 year old in as a new patient within an hour and a half, after she fell and broke a tooth. Dr Rau explained everything to us and even took time to blow bubbles with her after she was all fixed up!

Fantastic experience: I love Young Smiles and the way they have cared for my 3 children over the last 8 years. Cheryl and Dr. Rau are very patient with them and take into consideration the children’s behavioral challenges. They also make sure to explain procedures and results to me as well as the kids to ensure understanding. They do a phenomenal job! They are worth our 30 min drive. Being an in-network provider is just a bonus.

Fantastic experience: My son was at work to get a filling done at the dentist we started at. They referred us to YoungSmiles and now he doesn't mind going to the dentist! The staff is kind and caring. They don't let fear of the dentist be a barrier to cleaning teeth or doing other procedures. My son got his filling done and now is ok to even talk about getting braces in the future.

Fantastic experience: Young Smiles really cares about the kids. Dr. Rau takes great pride in his work and helps kids to feel comfortable. He also makes sure to talk with the kids parent to give an update on their teeth. He does not sugar coat anything. My son has a rare blood disorder and he took the time to understand my concerns with my son and how this will affect his teeth for his entire life. Happy to have such a wonderful Dentist in our area.

Negative experience: The dental hygienist and receptionists are amazing, very friendly and lovely with children. Our experience previous to our last appointment had been very good. Unfortunately my son developed two cavities between his front teeth that were causing him pain and sensitivity. I took his to the dentist with these concerns and was just told “yes it is a cavity” with no treatment plan or anything to help my son feel more comfortable or to stop the cavities from progressing. I took my son to another dentist who came up with a plan at his first appointment to take care of his cavities. I wish Young Smiles would’ve done the same thing. It’s very disheartening as a parent to have your child in pain while the people who are supposed to help do not.

Fantastic experience: New places can be challenging for our little one as he may become easily overstimulated. Young Smiles has been nothing but amazing. Dr. Rau and his staff are great with children, timely and have an AMAZING waiting area for kids to keep them occupied. At our most recent visit, he did a fantastic job during the appointment but struggled after, while deciding on a prize (he was insistent on 2 prizes vs only 1 prize). Cheryl, his dental hygienist, handled it beautifully. She couldn't have been more patient with him, while sticking with the rule of only 1 prize. I appreciate that she didn't easily fold and stayed so calm through the process. Young Smiles team (& especially Cheryl), thank you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: Dr Rau did my daughters procedure this morning and it went very well. I’m very happy with the results my daughter is doing well and he fixed her problem. With our conversation about this procedure he heard my concerns and made sure I was comfortable with what was going to happen. He treated my daughter like his own and will continue services with him from now on. 100% satisfied if you’re looking for a great dentist for your child pick him he’s a good one.

Positive experience: Dr. Rau seems to be very thorough, was pleasant, easy to understand. Overall had a great interaction every time with all of the staff. However, after a procedure he did on my son, who has Down Syndrome, he came to talk to me. He was telling me how a tooth was coming in and how he might have to pull it in the future. Then he's says "it's not like he's going to get married or date." How does one casually say that?! Much less in a professional setting?? And what does that have to do with his TEETH?!

Negative experience: I came here because the reviews were amazing? I was scheduled at 3pm with my two young ones for a new appointment. I was literally rushed out of there. I work in healthcare and we had seen a different pediatric dentist, so I knew what I was expecting. But this team was very inpatient with my 1 and 2 year old. They barely brushed the fluoride onto my child’s teeth because my child didn’t want to. But that’s why you’re pediatric dentists—you deal with this along with the help of the parents. If my child let me brush her teeth as how you expected me to, you’d be able to get access to her teeth too? The dentist also claimed my child had thrush, but didn’t prescribe anything—when it’s the milk residue as seen with infants solely drinking milk. He had someone else try to scrub her tongue, as we do at home and she ended up gagging. The dentist told me that my 2 year old doesn’t have a gag reflux and that it’s her behavior. Everyone is born with a gag reflux—with exceptions. And they literally sped through the paperwork. So I’ll be paying out of pocket with my original pediatric dentist in Mequon.

Fantastic experience: Have been taking my boys to see Dr. Rau for years now. Always professional, always makes sure I understand what needs to be done. Staff are polite and patient. My insurance coverage is weird and they're able to work around that to make sure I get the most coverage I can. Waiting room could use slightly more comfy chairs for adults though.

Fantastic experience: Dr Rau is an amazing dentist for my two youngest. He leaves them feeling proud even when my youngest need improvement on their oral care. There is no mor anxiety for them going to the dentist. I only wish he took adults :) My youngest had trauma to his front tooth and needed it emergency pulled, left him very anxious going back. He worked with him through this and knew when enough was enough before he got scared. Happy to say that it is all in the past and my son has perfect teeth now.

Negative experience: Would've liked to give ZERO STARS! very rude towards me basically called me a bad mother for my child. Very rude towards my child . Not very friendly. Drs are VERY RUDE!!! WOULD NOT RECOMEND!!!

Fantastic experience: My son is extremely afraid of the dentist. He will have meltdowns and cry and I have to carry him to the vehicle to get him to go. Since going to Young Smiles he has not had any crying or needing me to physically bring him to the vehicle when it is time for his appointment. They are amazing with him!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff and facility! Definitely felt like a judgement free zone from the minute you walk through the doors. As a parent to a child with a disability that doesn’t always come easily. Felt reassured, and my kids well taken care of the entire visit. Highly recommend for all children!

Fantastic experience: The staff is great with my daughter. She has gone through 2 different procedures that would normally be pretty stressful for a kid. The way the staff is able to calmly step by step perform their work is phenomenal! My daughter didn't even know they were done when they were finished. Best Dental care I have ever seen.

Negative experience: First time there. It wasn’t bad when I arrived. The computers were down which is understandable. They brought my daughter back. They were trying to do x rays on her. She was struggling with it. The lady kept saying come on a 3 year old can do this. Ok that’s nice but every kid is different. She was just rude and made comments where they weren’t needed
