Negative experience: Both the person who scheduled me on the phone and the check in person acted rude, like they were upset for being there. Update after cleaning and filling: the dental hygienist was great. The dentist seemed quite cold to me and she injured the nerve with the local anesthesia twice. I squirmed in the chair to let her know but she jabbed it again. It hurt to open my mouth fully for about 2 weeks after that.

Fantastic experience: I broke a tooth Saturday morning. This morning (Monday) I called my dentist and he determined that I needed an oral surgeon. Aspen saw me same day (I was hurting!) and scheduled the extraction and implant for tomorrow (Tuesday!). Very accommodating staff and doctor.

Negative experience: One of the worse dental place. -10 star they are scammers. They ask too much money out of your pocket then you tell them i don’t ask for this service i ask for something else. Then they blame on someone and SAY OH WE ARE SORRY SHE’S NEW HERE. Be careful from this kind of scammers

Fantastic experience: The wait time was fast. The X-rays went fast. Had a check up. And the dentist explained what Treatment I would need. Then I talked to someone who explained my cost with my Dental Coverage. After this I was given an appointment for the treatment I need . Showed up at that time of my appointment. Maybe an hour later I was walking out with my new Dentures! Everyone I worked with was cheerful. I had the feeling that everyone was happy working for Aspen. And likes what they do. I had an small problem after 24h. And called the number I was given If had questions.or problems It was a holiday. And I was called back with in about a couple of minutes. And once again the call back was very friendly and helpful. I really like this entire visit. And will continue to get my dental needs at Aspen

Fantastic experience: I’ll only do this because my first visit was so bad. I went when they first opened the office. The employees were very rude especially the office manager, she came from Charlottesville to help, but I think she cause chaos with patients and employees. Everything now has completely changed, everything is running very smooth now. The employees were much happier and it filtered on down with the patients. Just a completely different vibe going on.

Negative experience: You know when you go to the dentist they do x-rays which tells them the teeth that need repaired. I very disappointed that that did not happen. The dentist pulled my tooth and the tooth behind it has a cavity on the back of it. My gum is infected and the way she had to pull that tooth it really messed up the gum. Very disappointed . That day she was very harsh in speaking to me, must of had a bad morning. Now I have to go and get medicine for the hurt.

Fantastic experience: I came to this office in pain and to discuss getting dentures. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile from the receptionist. I told her I was there for my appointment. She checked and said my appointment was made for the Lynchburg office. Not sure what happened there but she canceled it and got me in to this location. She was very helpful and kind. I was called to the back within minutes which I thought was impressive. The dental assistant was very sweet and kind. Easy to talk to. Then after X-rays I saw the dentist, Dr. Ferreira. I explained that I had been in pain with my upper teeth for a long time and I wanted to discuss having the teeth I had left on top takin out and getting dentures. She took the time to listen and made me feel as if she really cared about my pain and wanted to help. She did an exam and we discussed a treatment plan. Then she had a hygienist check my bottom teeth as well. She was also very nice and took the time to listen to my concerns. Both her and the dentist’s demeanor made me feel very comfortable. I then saw Will, the office manager. He was great at explaining in detail what my treatment plan options were and the costs. After a few minutes of Q and A he was able to come up with a treatment plan that fit my budget. He was very helpful and professional. Then I had another dental assistant that did my impressions who was also easy to talk to and eased my anxiety. I feel terrible that I don’t remember everybody’s name that worked with me that day as they all deserve recognition. Everyone treated me with empathy and zero judgement. The reason I gave five stars is because it’s not an option to give more. I feel like for the first time in years I have found a new dentist office that makes me feel like family. Robert M.

Fantastic experience: On business trip ignoring a dental issue caught up with me. An acquaintance in Roanoke suggested Aspen Dental. The fact that they see me almost immediately was concerning. From the front desk to the dentist herself we're very friendly and professional. The tooth extraction was without a hitch and was very affordable. I simply cannot say enough good about this dental practice and their entire staff!

Negative experience: Do NOT go here. They do not take your medical needs seriously. It is a money milking industry a nurse that worked there said they have a quota to make every day so they will add to your bill. She no longer works there but at my new dentist office. Which is superb. Aspen Told me I needed a Crown, and perhaps a cleaning prior. They started the work while they hover over me. They cussed and swore and talked as if they were in a bar together. that was the dentist and her assistant less than professional. Then I quickly went to another dentist for a second opinion there she told me you need a root canal your crown will fall off in six months and they will get more money from you. She also advised me you need a deep cleaning. It is necessary not just a cleaning. I called Aspen back told them to cancel the appointment. she said she will take off the cleaning and you can just come in and get your crown. Now she’s taking off the cleaning? When the other office advise me it is urgently necessary and it must be a deep cleaning. It was just to get me to come in and do the crown and I would’ve been back in the chair six months later getting a root canal. Costing me double I had a thorough exam at the other company and their staff were exquisite. At Aspen You are just a number. Remember, it’s corporate owned so they have quota to maintain. Go to a family practice. And customer service team please don’t reply. Call us at the 800 number when they do absolutely nothing.

Fantastic experience: The staff was terrific. Treated me like a king. Everything went well I have a couple questions though for my denture which I'll call and make an appointment for that otherwise everything is great. I would highly recommend it to any of my friends that are in need.

Fantastic experience: We traveled to Roanoke this past week. On the way, Bob's bottom denture broke. We contacted Aspen Dental Tanglewood and were able to get an appointment the next morning. The people were friendly, sympathetic, and very professional. They were able to see Bob multiple times that day, and Wednesday and by Thursday, Bob had new dentures! Huge shout out to Jason for the actual creation of the dentures, and to Shaylen for her compassionate care! The entire staff deserves recognition for making us feel valued and for working hard to make sure we had what we needed before we left town. Thank you, all!

Going to the dentist can be stressful, especially when you’re worried about the cost, but Amanda made the whole process so much easier. She was kind, patient, and took the time to explain all of my payment options. She really worked to find a plan that fit the budget and made sure to understood everything before moving forward. Negative experience: First appointment went well. Second appointment was rescheduled by two weeks the day before. When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment I found that it had been canceled the day before. I've learned my lesson and won't be back.

Negative experience: Aspen Dental is one of the least helpful businesses I have ever been. There was 1 dentist who helped me pay for teeth extraction when I was homeless, he is great. The company; however, I will never recommend them. They have advertising for how they help their patients and emergency appointments, but when you actually need assistance they won't help you. Came in for an emergency today for a broken tooth, there was a open hole in my mouth from a tooth that they refused to help me with months prior and now it is broken due to that neglect...of my dental office. I really hope Aspen Dental changes their views and actually decide they want to help people instead of filling their pockets. Great place to go if you want to be treated poorly and robbed of your finances!

Negative experience: These people don't know how to correctly process insurance claims. My wife and I both had coinciding appointments on the same day. We both have dental insurance under the same policy family plan. When we arrived for our appointments they informed me my X-Rays were covered but my wife's were not, and we would have to pay $95 for her X-Rays. I asked how is that possible if we are on the same family plan. They said they did not know but I should contact my insurance provider. I contacted my insurance Blue Cross.....ever heard of them? They said that was absolutely false. Anything I am covered for my wife is also covered for. What a Aspen Dental SCAM. They owe my $95!!!!

Fantastic experience: The staff is very friendly and kind. The office is clean and orderly. The office manager was so kind and explained everything to me. From the cost to what my insurance would cover and what I needed to pay. I called on a Thursday and had an appointment for the next day! Super fast! Then had an appointment four days later for my procedure! Everything went great, and the procedure was quicker than I thought. I was in and out in less than an hour. I highly recommend this dental office. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

Negative experience: EDIT: We have been going here for 3 years, the dentist here is not the issue. We have been greatly taken care of by the dental assistants and her. The lack of communication between their management and some people who work up front. As well as the ability for customers to contact the dentist office during normal hours seems almost impossible. If you leave a voicemail they won't return it in a timely manor or at all. The issues we have had with scheduling is abysmal, and having to jump through hoops. I can not in good faith recommend this business after the issues we have dealt with. But will change to 2 stars for the care from the dentist. Original: Not worth the trouble , multiple issues with insurance. Including hiring a dentist, to cover for the main doctors leave, that was not contract through the insurance that their customers used. To find out 10 months later through a overdue bill and cancelling an appointment we had scheduled months in advance. Texting system does not work as told by front office assistant. After they confirmed time the day before appointment was 10am. Then next day receive a text at 6am that the appointment was at 8am. Called the front desk who let me know it was changed and confirming through text does not actually do anything.

Fantastic experience: I went in this morning for an emergency, I had a cracked tooth that was causing me a great deal of pain. I was nervous and scared to get it pulled but everyone there from the lady at the front desk to the nurses and the doctor and the man who checked me out at the end (sorry I can't remember names) were so kind and helped calm my nerves. The procedure went fast and smoothly. I'd definitely recommend this place!

Negative experience: Went in to make sure I didn't have an infection and to deal with it if I did. They proceeded to tell me I needed three to four crowns and filling in near every tooth. I was already scared of infection and in alot of pain so I went along with it. I asked to ONLY get what was covered. They proceeded to charge 7k$ to a credit card that they signed me up for under the guise of a "payment plan" Then i decided to have some teeth pulled to lessen the cost. I asked that the teeth we were working on were only the ones covered by insurance. They assured me that it was covered. Two painful crowns and about ten fillings later I receive a credit card statement for the full 7k amount. I figure it must be some sort of error. I call them and they tell me "oh no it actually wasn't covered and since it was already done nothing they could do" I call the credit card company and put in a fraud charge and MAGICALLY im refunded 5k$ Wish that was the end of it but I had my dental work done in November and now in April I'm in the worst pain in my life probably with and INFECTION like I feared before. This is a business before a medical practice. Beware they will come for your shirt

Positive experience: My first visit was good. I did have trouble getting them to call the pharmacy for a script. The staff seems mostly decent but a simple call would have saved me a lot of trouble. It took 2 phone calls and an office visit.

Negative experience: Absolute worst place I’ve ever been to! Asking outrageous prices! Will was rude and stand offish made me feel like they were scamming me out of hundreds of dollars!! Had a bunch of teenagers taking the x-rays, and the doctor wasn’t much better, I came in nervous for extractions and dentures and they did nothing but make me more nervous! I left there crying not knowing where to go because these people are awful! Unprofessional and felt very nervous thru out my whole visit! LAST PLACE ANYONE SHOULD GO!!!

Negative experience: I beg you guys, look elsewhere for dental care. I came here five years ago, explained my dental anxiety and how I’d like to just get all the treatment I needed in a few visits. They happily agreed, told me I needed basically a filling in every tooth. I was horrified but I was under the impression that they’re the professionals, went along with it. While they did my filling the dentist missed my mouth, the drill went into my lip and left a huge gash. I still have a scar from this.. NOT ONLY that but about three years later, the filling in my tooth failed resulting in a horrible infection. I had to have a root canal and down the line, I’m now looking at yet another root canal and having other work done to correct all the dental care provided here. They shaped fillings that didn’t even look like the shape of my teeth, I deal with dental pain daily, the staff is NOT friendly and you never know what doctor you’re going to see because it’s a big roundabout of staff. I beg you, if you go here please go get a second opinion. You’ll be saving yourself from so much pain and dental work down the line. I wish I did. Now I’m left with multiple teeth with root canals, dental pain, and horrible, ugly fillings that I’m spending even more money to correct. Do yourself a favor and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! And no, customer service team I won’t reach out to you. Everytime I call, nobody answers the phone. Nobody replies to voicemail. I’m SO over it — this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Fantastic experience: The place is incredible. Had an emergency late in the evening and they were able to fit me in the next morning. I’m very sensitive to any type of pain, Dr.Ferreira and her team were very understanding and went above and beyond to make me feel safe and comfortable. The atmosphere in general is warm and welcoming. Had a little hiccup because of my insurance but Amanda helped me clarify everything without any issues. Brooke at the welcome desk are always there to help with any questions you have. I usually feel anxious going to dentist office, but not here.

But thankfully ill refer and always go back to Aspen Dental@ tanglewoo. Also the guy that helped me thru all of this was terrific and explained everything to a TEE!!!!! Negative experience: Prices for services are lies to get you into their office. Ad says dentures for $499. Actual cost is $3000.When asked Doctor said the cheap one was crap and they won't sell it at their location.
