This place, along with its staff are so kind and helpful and will make you as comfortable as they can. I highly recommend! The service from when you first walk in and your greeted all the way to the end of the procedure, you can tell they truly care

Negative experience: EDIT: I had a great experience with Dr. Gonzalez, but since she left this place has been a mess. I was billed for a treatment that I never received one day before Christmas. I had to wait two weeks before anyone was available to even take my call. I finally got through to someone this past Monday, the 5th, & spoke with Kennedy about the billing issue. After telling me she was going to get back to me, I waited until Thursday afternoon (today) & called back to ask about it again. Kennedy acted like she had no recollection of our conversation & argued with me about the billing discrepancy. She told me someone would be reaching back out to me soon. At first I would’ve referred anyone here, but since Dr. Gonzalez has left & they’re using predatory billing tactics, I wish I’d never gone! —————————————————————— I called Elite Dental for an appointment to check out some tooth pain I’d been having and they were able to get me in within just a few days! They did an exam and scheduled me for the tooth extraction I needed the following week. The extraction went well and Dr. Gonzalez even texted me from her personal number that evening to check in on me. They also have payment plans available! Thank you, Dr. Gonzalez and your wonderful team!

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with the level of service and continuity of care I have experienced at Elite Dental over the past year. During this time, the office has gone through four dentists with little to no communication provided to patients. While I understand that Dr. Mahoney’s retirement was expected, subsequent changes—including the departure of Dr. Dang, the termination of Dr. Gonzalez, and the placement of a temporary dentist until another provider begins in January 2026—have created significant inconsistency in care. Additionally, the high turnover among staff is concerning, particularly given that many long-standing employees from Dr. Mahoney’s practice are no longer with the office. This raises questions about management and workplace stability. I have also found it frustrating that patient accounts and billing are handled through an external office in Chicago rather than on-site, making issues such as refunds difficult to resolve. Overall, these factors have led me to lose confidence in the practice and its operations.

Negative experience: Elite dental took over Mahoney dental. I had 170.00 on my account. They sent a letter asking if I want my money back I said yes. They never returned the funds. Potentially a fraudulent company. Update they finally paid me after I contacted Indiana attorney general consumer complaints. A mediator with Indiana Attorney General sent a letter for mediation and response.

Negative experience: If I could give them a 0-star rating, I would. After a second visit, fillings were done and a fiasco of them not listening. I am highly upset after receiving a bill. I was assured they were in-network. They were not; I was told an estimated price, and it was double what I was told when it came down to it. I cried so hard while they worked on fillings. it was the worst experience. On top of it, the dentist refused to listen to me about medication. Tried to prescribe something I could not take and refused to change it. The pharmacist even refused to fill it and offered to help. In the end I did not get the meds. In addition, one of the fillings—they either got too close to the nerve, or it should have just been removed. In the end I went to a different dentist and had the tooth pulled. I will not be going back here. If you need a dentist to listen to you, go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: First time being at this office I felt very comfortable right away. Dr. Dang took his time getting impressions and was very caring. Hard to find a good dentist anymore and hopefully have found my go to. Since writing this I have changed my mind. After being taken over by corporate rather than home town dentistry the corporate office is very inefficient. Dr. Dang is no longer there and they have dropped several insurances. I have been owed money for 3 months and they still haven’t paid after contacting them several times. The office staff is very good but whoever is running the show is not.

Fantastic experience: My goodness, I cannot say enough about this office. Dr. Gonzalez was a Godsend. I am a grad student from New York and contacted the office in terrible pain for an emergency visit. I was seen right away and Dr. Gonzalez diagnosed the problem promptly and gave me a pain management plan that finally gave me relief. Dr. Gonzalez along with the staff had the most beautiful and gentle bedside manner. I high recommend!

Positive experience: Hygienist I had was pretty painful … I loved how it was when the Family Type Practice was Run my Dr Mahoney & Dr Dang . Now the practice called Elite Dentistry is now run by a corporation . Office staff is great Britany is very kind awesome a great Hygienist , know that . But I’m not happy with who I had , will remain unnamed . It will take time to gain my trust again . Current Dr mixed thoughts for reason I won’t discuss .

Fantastic experience: I used to go to Dr. Mahoney before he retired. His new replacement was ok. He did good with fixing my dentures but the office didn't feel as welcoming as before. Plus I did my paperwork ahead of time and they could have looked at my insurance to tell me I was out of network and would have a balance to pay. Which luckily I was able to do but that might not have been the case a few years ago. Probably will not be going back but overall they weren't bad just not as welcoming from what I was used too.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. They are beyond kind and made such an effort to make me feel comfortable both physically and emotionally. Their kindness, knowledge, and overall excellence exceeded any expectation I could have for a dentist office. Providing services without shame or judgement is hard to find! After several bad experiences with many other dentists, I will definitely be sticking with them moving forward! They really do a great job all the way around

Fantastic experience: My hygienist Abby was the best! So gentle, yet my teeth have never been cleaner. No artificial fragrance in the room and they even had an air purifier. Abby was so kind to adjusted the room temperature for me. Dr Dang was so nice with a genuine smile. He did an amazing job repairing my tooth. It looks perfect. It was so important to him that I not feel any pain. Did not even feel the needle when he numbed the area.

Fantastic experience: This is Olivia My visit was amazing! Abby was awesome and taught me a lot about brushing and flossing! I got to see my wisdom teeth!!! Dr Dang is so nice and knowledgeable! He’s awesome! I just got my braces off and they found a ton of left over cement which they removed for me!! I’m telling ALL OF MY FRIENDS TO GO TO ELITE DENTAL PARTNERS OF SOUTH BEND!!!

Negative experience: Though my daughter received good care (see below) we have had a TERRIBLE time with their follow up staff regarding insurance. They initially filed our claim with incorrect codes and sent it to the wrong insurance company. We went to Mahoney to get the right info and resubmit the claim ourselves which was APPROVED. But the insurance company deems any claim submitted by the patient to be out of network, so they would not pay. When gave Mahoney all the proper paperwork and asked to refile, they failed to do so, after assuring us they would. We then followed up again and were told, by the 3rd office manager in less than 3 years, that it was never submitted and she was refiling for us. She communicated she was having issues because it was outside the filing time but that she open an appeal on our behalf since this entire problem was caused by them.The insurance company denied the claim again because it was outside the filing time line. Mahoney is refusing to take accountability for their poor management and their initial mistake. We paid $831 out of pocket and were assured they would file a claim with our insurance and we would get a refund. Their initial mistake was sending the claim to the wrong insurance company, this was compounded by their failure to correct that mistake when it was brought to their attention, ultimately causing our claim to be denied and costing us money for services that should have been covered.

My daughter needed a consultation regarding a Frenectomy as we were experiencing difficulties regarding breastfeeding. I called and was able to get an appointment SAME DAY! The staff was very caring and incredibly sweet. They also performed the Frenectomy for her lip/tongue tie the same day. The procedure was quick and the staff walked us through the care instructions. The hygienist also used pictures to explain the issues my daughter was experiencing and explained what she could possibly experience in the future without the revision. The following day they even called to check on my sweet girl. We are very grateful for our positive experience!

Negative experience: I have been going to this office for many years but recently I have had a couple of issues. I don't mind paying more for great service but back in July of this year I payed out of pocket for my treatment like I always do and then the insurance co. sends me a check for what they covered. They sent the check to Elite instead of me and I called them to ask for that amount to be sent to me. I spoke to numerous people about this and was told several different stories. Fast forward to November-showed up for a cleaning appointment my normal hygienist was over booked, had to go with a different person, she was sneezing and sniffling during my cleaning. They still had not sent me my money from July so at least I could use that for payment. I normally don"t give bad reviews but this was a disappointing experience,

Fantastic experience: Life had totally knocked me around just as I found Dr Mahoney’s practice. I actually broke down crying while in the chair. The whole staff was supportive and amazing, solved my teeth problems, and referred me to several oral surgeons to get in asap. Dr Mahoney was very caring and advocated for my care in and out of his office. I’ve always been fearful of the dentist and I was so comfortable here. From the reception greeting, teeth cleaning, mold making for a partial, to intensive procedures, I was very calm and confident in my care. Negative experience: Stay away from this place!! Not a very pleasant experience!! I was a 1st time patient and last time patient. Was lied to, very misinformed about my procedure, and given no pain meds for wisdom teeth removal. Will never be back!

Fantastic experience: We got an appointment quickly. We also didn’t have to wait in the waiting room long. The office manager took time to explain the billing process, and she had called our insurance before we got there. Dr Mahoney was patient and knowledgeable about the procedure and answered our questions carefully.

Negative experience: I've gone to Mahoney since I was a little kid and have loved them all these years. Today I went for a cleaning and only found out afterwards when it was time to pay that they are out of network for all insurances. After my insurance switched in the fall of 2022, I checked to see if Mahoney was in network with my new insurance and they were. So I continued to go here as it was where I've felt the most comfortable all these years. My bill was over double the amount I paid in Janurary at my last cleaning appointment. They failed to properly notify me that since I was last there at the beginning of this year, they no longer are in network for any insurances and I would need to pay more out of pocket. This could have been told to me when I called to make an appointment, but it was not. I am very disappointed and I feel cheated by a dentistry that I have trusted for so long.

Positive experience: I have been going to Mahoney for over eight years. I have always been impressed by their exceptional patient care. I recently had a dental cleaning that was very uncomfortable. It seems like there is frequent staff turnover. Mahoney is out of network with my insurance. For these reasons, I will be transferring my care to another office.

Fantastic experience: This is the most comforting dental office. I live in Iowa now and I will still only visit this office 7 hours away!! I am normally not a fan of the dentist but Mahoney is so confident in his staff and his knowledge I go in totally relaxed and at ease. He is extremely personable and cares about solving the root of problems and not only treating symptoms. He even went above and beyond to help me find the right person for me to work with for my TMJ (jaw issue) and wanted me to keep him in the loop.

She was very courteous, explained as she went along and was very thorough. Dr. Mahoney gave excellent advice in what may be in my better interest and did not try to promote anything that he didn't think I needed at the time. I respect that forwardness and honesty. Hard to find these days in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: I have never trusted anyone touching my teeth other than my dentist that passed away in bremen until I met Dr. Mahoney. He is straight forward a honest, kind and genuine person. I love how much passion he puts into his work. This man would not let me leave his office until my teeth were perfect, just like my old dentist. I highly recommend going to see him. Hes amazing!!

Fantastic experience: Best doctor I have ever been too! 3 minutes in he knew I had EDS and I finally got a sleep study after 45 years of needing one! I would definitely recommend him to anyone! Unfortunately he doesn't accept Medicaid or Medicare! Also doesn't charge your insurance and you have to pay upfront $200! Haven't received a bill for my services either!

Fantastic experience: I took my dad to see Dr Mahoney, because his former dentist was not set up well for people with disabilities. Dr Mahoney and his staff did an excellent job adapting their care to my dad’s needs and treating him with dignity and respect. I was so impressed with this office that I switched my own care to them as well. Dr Mahoney is very skilled and tries to use the least invasive approach to addressing your dental needs. I never felt that I was being overcharged for anything or that anything was being done that wasn’t absolutely necessary. The staff is also very good about getting you seen quickly in an emergency situation. These are good people, and they will take good care of you.

Negative experience: I had a different person clean my teeth, than usual. Ver rough, stabbed me several times and made my mouth bleed. I have never had this experience before and I mentioned it to the person at the front counter. I have always had a pleasant experience, but this time I did not. My mouth was extremely sore the rest of the day. The person made mention that I don’t look like I floss and I do. She said she guessed that I don’t floss because of how much I was bleeding and I told her I had never had the issue before, but when you are rough and continue to stab and poke someone, they are going to bleed. The girl at the front counter told me others have voiced similar issues with this hygienist.

Fantastic experience: Serious mouth pain over the weekend. Called Monday, got in Tuesday morning. Certain.this was going to cost thousands for root canal, and crown. Dr. Mahoney suggested to pull the tooth, which was in back of mouth. His honesty is appreciated, and I trust his recommendations. They also give several options for payments. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: As per usual, Dr. Mahoney got me in quickly after I did something stupid and part of a tooth snapped off. Had an extraction. The numbing shots were not my idea of fun, but only took about 15 seconds. Will probably start the process for an implant soon. Love this dental office. They are comfortable, caring, and have a great sense of humor. Kudos, again!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Terry Mahoney for about 28 years. He is someone I totally trust and I also know that he cares.He is conscientious about his patient’s level of pain. If he cannot a certain situation, he refers to someone equally as professional. I would recommend Terry to anyone who needs dental care. You can tell his staff enjoys what they do and care for the patients as well.

Fantastic experience: I started the implant process yesterday with Dr. Mahoney and was 100% satisfied with the process. He explained everything he was doing before hand and kept asking me if I was ok as he proceeded. The pain I expected never materialized. I walked out of there with a slightly sore jaw with that feeling completely disappearing as I followed his recommended OTC pain reliever schedule. Today I am pain free and feel great. If you are considering an implant I highly recommend Dr. Mahoney and his wonderful staff.

Fantastic experience: I called them with needing a extraction they got me in the very next day.the staff was all amazing and Dr.Mahoney was a big blessing and got my tooth out . The staff made sure I understood everything and was comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone.we had to pay out of pocket since our Michigan insurance clearly couldnt be used there however the place in Michigan that was going to do it didn't take our insurance plan the place here was going to change us double what Mahoney charged so very reasonable prices if you have to pay out of pocket.highly satisfied and recommend.

Fantastic experience: If I could pick the perfect Dentist... Dr. Mahoney is that Dentist. I've had some real awful past dentist. Dr Mahoney and his awesome team of Hygienists have helped me get over some serious anxiety of dental work! Sonya, Andrea and Lauren are absolutely AWESOME! To compare to my most recent previous dentist, the Crown placed here, looks like a completely normal tooth! However they did it, they have made it so the edge of the crown is at or below my gum line. It also feels natural, it fits amazingly with my natural teeth. In stark contrast the crown I had placed at my past Dentist in Maryland, screams "HI! I'M A CROWN". The edges are not even at or near my gum line. The tooth does not fit nicely with my top row and causes my bite to shift over to fit. The old dentist, actually ground down the perfectly good tooth above the crown, as opposed to altering the crown. The two crowns are on the same molar, so the comparison is quite easy. As far as the level of pain experienced here vs there, I have to say it was minimal here! At my previous dentist I was in tears because they kept yanking my mouth open further. Then getting frustrated when I asked if I could close it for a minute, and asking why I was crying as if I was acting dramatic. ( I simply had tears, not crying or making noises as such. I was put on blast and made to feel as if I was being ridiculous). I pointed out to them, old dentist, a concern I had with my bite and what I thought was shifting teeth, I was told nothing was wrong. I went home feeling awful and couldn't get my jaw completely and comfortably realigned for about a week. I didn't know it then, but I have a jaw issue and in addition I clench/ grind my teeth. Having my mouth open for even just a cleaning is painful. A dentist here at my first appointment, LISTENED to me. He took my concerns seriously, I wasn't made to feel bad about it! They did a CT and scheduled me for a TMJ consult. Turns out I definitely had valid reasons for the pain I experienced. I had no idea that I had an issue. It took 6 years, with 3 previous dentist to finally figure out the issue! Since that appointment Dr. Mahoney has personally been the dentist doing the work in my mouth. The most noteworthy experience... my cracked filling, that I was unaware of for a while. Went in to have it fixed, all went well and it sealed up really well! It ended up having an abscess underneath the tooth rupture at 2am, apparently it was cracked longer then I had realized, and had an infection. Called the 24hr phone service for the office to see what to do... they actually contacted one of the doctors to ask. Ended up needing an emergency root canal on their day off, first thing that following morning. If ever someone deserved to be thanked a million times for their years... it was at that very moment! Dr Mahoney didn't complain about coming in, he was cheerful and patient with me. It took a while for my gums to go numb. Once he started, the root canal was fast! Thankfully! The tooth was saved and eventually crowned. The only thing that isn't ideal for me... is them being out of network. In my case it costs a substantial amount more then would an in network dentist.

Positive experience: The staff/dentist are very nice however, informing patients about paying upfront for all services and they wait to get reimbursed from insurance would have been nice to know ahead of time. I waited over 1 week for my appointment, I could have used that time to find a in-network provider. I had been there in the past and just paid what my ins. Did not pay. Just inform patients so they can be better prepared in the future. They verified my insurance prior to my appointment so, that would have been a perfect time to inform me.

Fantastic experience: Dr Mahoney is a fantastic dentist, he's understanding and very patient with his patients. I am a huge cry baby when it comes to having anyone work in my mouth. I'm in a program that helps out people who don't have the means to pay for having dentures made and all of the work that goes with prepping your mouth and gums to have dentures made. Dr Mahoney is amazing at taking the time and care to build a set of new teeth for me. This man has no idea how grateful I am for him to take the time to create a smile for me. I haven't smiled in over 7 years because of the roughten and broken teeth in my mouth. A bit after Thanksgiving I will have a smile again!!! Thank you Dr Mahoney for all that you have done for me!!! Negative experience: Went to have ac couple of broken teeth pulled. Been in a lot of pain for a while. Have had hard time getting in to see a dentist do to covid scare. Finley got in. No help!! They wanted 250.00 per tooth plus 200.00 for 3 exray. Needless to say I paid the 200.00 for exray but still suffering with pain from broken teeth. In my opinion all dentist are crooks !!!!!!!!
