The front desk staff in this office are always friendly, listen, & after your appointment, thoroughly go over the options for your dental plan. The dentists and hygienists give practical expertise to give you an appropriate plan. They are caring, compassionate, & ensure you're not having any pain during the entire procedure. I was given a head set to listen to my cell phone music and it really made a difference. At today’s appointment I saw Dr. Dennis Ragoza my new dentist, who’s fantastic and made me feel totally at ease. I feel lucky to go to such professionals!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dennis Ragoza at Hale & Hale DDS for the past several months, and I couldn’t be happier with the level of care I’ve received. As someone who’s always been a bit anxious about dental visits, Dr. Ragoza immediately put me at ease with his calm, professional, and genuinely caring approach. He’s incredibly skilled, thorough, and takes the time to explain everything clearly — from treatment options to preventive tips. Whether it’s a routine check-up or more involved restorative work, he’s meticulous and truly committed to long-term oral care. I also have to give a huge shout-out to the wonderful hygienists, Allegria and Shawnee. Both are absolute pros — gentle, attentive, and thorough during cleanings. They make the process comfortable (even the not-so-fun parts!), educate you on better home care without being judgmental, and have a warm, friendly energy that makes you actually look forward to your appointments. The entire office feels welcoming and well-run. The front desk team is efficient and kind, and the location on Wilshire Blvd is convenient. If you’re in Santa Monica or the LA area and looking for a dentist who combines expertise with compassion, I highly recommend Dr. Ragoza and the team at Hale & Hale. Fantastic experience: I met Dr Shula for a chipped tooth repair, and it was quick, painless and she was very pleasant making the experience extremely easy.

Negative experience: This used to be such a wonderful family owned practice. Sadly it was sold to a corporation in 2025 and it started going downhill. They recently made errors at an appointment and we no longer feel safe there. Before the practice was sold Drs. Susie and Brent sent multiple emails requesting positive Google reviews. Thus the overwhelming majority of positive reviews are for the old family owned practice. Unfortunately when Susie and Brent left the integrity and professionalism of the practice went with them. Regrettably we no longer trust this dental office.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Hale & Hale for 30+ years.I adore my hygienist Shawnee! She's the best!! My husband sees Martha for his cleaning, and says she is awesome too! Dr. Susie was my dentist for years until she retired last year and I do miss her, but i've been super happy with the new Team! Dr. Ragosa or "Dr. Dennis " as he is called amongst his staff is one of the two new Dr.'s in the office who replaced Susie and Brent Hale. Dr. Dennis is pure joy and has a wonderful and friendly manner that puts a nervous patient like me at ease. I have a crown replacement coming up and I know i will be in good care with Dr. Dennis.

The first impression is that they have passed on their practice to another two remarkable dentists who continue with the same high standards and an office that appears to have much of the same staff. This review was written some time ago. Since then I'm convinced that my first impression was right. They're terrific. The "front" staff has changed. The new "front" is equally friendly, and competent.

I might be super negative, or not very smart, or vindictive about something someone, totally innocently, said to me. I have a full life and barely have enough time for what I want to do - I get tons of these: 'how'd' we do' requests. Does everyone need to do this? Really?

Fantastic experience: Ok adjectives I don’t associate with dentistry in general: joyful, entertaining, warm, an-evertrusting-willingness-to-let-you-put-a-drill-in-my-mouth-ness. Yet here I am saying Dr Shula is literally all of these things and more. If my jaw fell on the ground, I’m going to her. If I can’t get numb because I’m seemingly resistant to lidocaine but not mepivacaine, I’m going to her. If I need a hug after a crappy week, I’m going to my mom, but second best is my dentist Dr Shula. Literally a goddess and a paragon for dentists everywhere. I can’t recommend her and her team more but I also don’t want this to backfire and I’ll never get an appt because all of you will now have the best dentist ever. Seriously, 15 out of 5 stars.

Dr. Ragosa made me feel so at home, as he introduced me to my own teeth via X-rays, and his creating a night guard with zero discomfort because he used state of the art technology. No goopy stuff. There is a cleanliness, and ease with the whole office. I really feel seen and listened to. To date, he is the most comprehensive dentist I have ever met. He has educated me about my own dental needs, and he resolved the several issues I had prior to meeting him. Dr. Ragosa, is effortless to follow, and a joy to work with. My husband was so moved by the care, empathy when I was having some issues, that he announced that Dr. Ragosa will be his dentist too! So thank you front office team, and staff. I was a patient of Dr. Harper until he passed away in Nineteen Ninety Four, and then Dr. Felts became our Dentist and he was our Dentist from 1994 until 2016, when Dr. Hales took over his practice. Dr. Brent Hale was absolutely the best dentist, and now we staying with Dr. Harkavy and Dr. Ragoza who have taken over and we’re very pleased so far. Martha is our hygienist and she is amazing.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency arising from some dental work I had done while out of state. Called Hale&Hale and they were able to schedule an appointment that same day. Dr Harkavy was wonderful! She looked at the X-ray, readjusted what was done on the offending tooth, answered all my questions and sent me home pain free. She is warm and attentive. I knew I was in good hands and will come back.

Fantastic experience: Finding a good dentist is difficult. I’ve been to many dentists in the LA area and have never really found “the one” until now. Everyone is so nice and the vibe is positive here. This place had been recommended by many of my friends and I finally gave them a try. Cannot express how relieved I am now that I have found a good trustworthy dentist. I am a very nervous gal when it comes to dental work but this place immediately made me feel at ease. 10 out 10 all around.
