Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about Gentle Family Dentistry and especially Kami. Kami truly went above and beyond for us. My fiancé was dealing with a painful tooth abscess, his face was swollen, and you could clearly tell it was infected. His current dentist was unable to help, and we were in a really stressful situation. Kami reached out and was able to get us in the very next day. I am beyond grateful for her kindness, support, and urgency. You could tell she genuinely cared, and that meant everything to us while he was in so much pain. Thank you, Kami, for stepping up when we needed it most. Your compassion and dedication did not go unnoticed. I highly recommend Gentle Family Dentistry to anyone looking for a team that truly cares about their patients.

Fantastic experience: I just had my first appointment here and I had to come straight to leaving a review because of how wonderful everyone was I was seen exactly on time, everyone was SO friendly and cheerful, the dental assistant was SUCH a sweetie who tried to make the xrays as comfortable as possible and was just overall delightful. The dentist was quick and the whole thing from walking in to leaving was 30 minutes. Now I see why my friend recommended them so highly and I would recommend them to anyone needing a great dental experience!!

Fantastic experience: My daughter has a fear of dental procedures. Dr V and especially his assistant Michaela have made her feel comfortable and lessened that anxiety. She loves how they both explain the process as it happens so she knows what to expect. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for an empathetic and knowledgeable team.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency tooth situation. I was not their client. I got a human voice 1st ring. And very compassionate. She was able to get me right in. Dr.V & Ashley the assistant told me step by step what they were going to do or what was going to take place. The assistant was very reassuring. And even got a mediative fish video to look at it . Very relaxing. And for what need to be done very reasonable cost! Also very through with follow up care & Dr.V said to call if needed anything.

Negative experience: People there are friendly and do a good job but they don't value your time. My kids and I have had our appointments cancelled last minute on us more than 50% of the time over the past couple years. Four times in the past year to be exact. Seems like there is a high turnover rate amongst dental hygienists or they schedule people thinking they will hire another one in time but don't. There is typically 8 months in between cleanings instead of 6 because they are overbooked and when they cancel your appointment you have to wait another 3+ months to try again and miss more time from work and school while hoping they don't cancel again. On top of that, I cancelled an appointment once and they threatened me with a cancellation fee even though they cancel on me all the time. They constantly accept new patients and can't take care of the ones they have. It's like an airline overbooking seats except you get nothing for compensation when they toss you aside while welcoming others. TL;DR - They can't keep to a schedule and cancel all the time.

Negative experience: Nice people, but not my mouth.

Negative experience: They advertise accepting new patients. Called for an appointment and was told about7 months from now. Yes, 7 months! That is securing patients for the far off future, it is not accepting patients now. Very misleading. Not right. Don't question the receptionist, she gets upset with you. Don't know about the care they give but I know someone that goes there and he likes them. I called another place as a new patient (they said accepting new patients) and have an appointment in less than 2 months.Call around and you may actually get an appointment when you need one.

Negative experience: I went there to check my implants took trays and dentist came in looked at the trays and all he said was expensive expensive they billed me 226 .00 for nothing he told me to wear top denture I did for a whole day was really sore and painful went to see another dentist and had 3 failing implants 1 on top 2 on bottom dentist at gentle did not say one word I am not paying him for nothing now got a bill from a collections they added another 100 wow is all can say good luck with this dentist

Fantastic experience: They are by fair one of the best! I am new to Maine.I was so nervous. I had two teeth pulled and a flipper put in place of my missing teeth. It looks so natural. He was wonderful and it did not hurt at all! Everyone in this office made the process simple. They all were very helpful to my needs and concerns. I would recommend them to anyone!! My whole experience was great!! Thanks for giving me my smile back!!

Fantastic experience: Had a dental emergency and they got me in within an hour even though I was not a existing patient. Couldn't be more thankful.

Negative experience: This review is not on the quality of service but on the lack of clarity on cost. My wife and I are seniors on Medicare Advantage and visited for our 3rd cleaning and provided the receptionist with our new insurance info. When we selected our plan, the practice was in network on the insurers site. We were not told they no longer accept the insurance and were horrified to receive an invoice for $400 above what the insurance covered. A total of $630 billed for cleanings and bite-wing x-rays. The worse charge is a total of $180($90 each) for oral exam by the dentist for less than 5 minutes of checking after the cleaning. This equals over $1000 per hour. They need to be more upfront with their cost as in over 40 years we have never been invoiced for the exam after the cleaning. It was included in the cleaning fee. Needless to say we will be cancelling our next appointments and seeking another dental practice.

Very down-to-earth, if you have any reservations or fear being in the dentist chair this is the place to go. I say this because I am one of those people. Fantastic experience: With the worst pain I had ever experienced, I couldn’t receive any communication or help from my usual dentist. I desperately reached out Dr. Yang, who took the time to talk to me via phone after hours, even though I was not his current patient. I saw him immediately the next day, and my problem was resolved under his guidance. This office went above and beyond to help me, and I’m so very grateful for it. Like the name of their practice, they are “gentle” and they treat you like “family.” Still the best

I am always acknowledged and checked in quickly and the hygienist is always on time as well. I was very glad to see the addition of oral cancer screening. Fantastic experience: UPDATE 2/25/21 Had the pleasure to have daughter seen and treated today by Dr. Wong. Experience was amazing and daughter left smiling beautifully. Extremely happy with practice and all who work there. Highly recommend! Our family has been part of this practice for years and we loved Dr Klasson. We were a bit worried when hearing the practice was being taking over by another dentist, but within minutes of our first visit with Dr Yang we realized we were in good hands. He was AMAZING with our young child, that is a bit uneasy with any dental work, who came in for an abscess. The upgrades to the office are wonderful and so is the staff.

Negative experience: The first year went great then BAD managing referrals and taking care of patients care.... Unbelievable -- Love being referred to someone who was NOT in my network and then paying a BILL -- Then NO follow up calls of any type. No Thank you from a Family of four!!!

Negative experience: The first visit I went in for went well, and they did a cleaning and the lady was very kind. Unfortunately the next time I returned which was for another cleaning, they sat me down, the “doctor” came in looked at my teeth for 5 minutes and told me exactly what they told me at my cleaning. I was then informed my appointment was over and they charged me $100 for the “consultation”. They lied to me to get me into their office, and then charged me for a service that I never needed, because it was the same information that had been given last time, and I had already paid for the same service the previous time. These people are sick, and clearly don’t understand what it means to live in a state where people do not earn a lot. They are only interested in trying to get money from you, and “doctor” Yang is a sham.

Fantastic experience: Pretty great dentistry in the Waterville area! They accepted my insurance with ease and everything went smoothly! I have yet to get a filling or cleaning done here (because they assisted with my root canal), but I don't plan on going anywhere else in the area (however, Silver Street Dental would be the next best place to go to).

Dr. Yang is knowledgeable and informative. My hygienist was Nikki, she was professional and very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what she was doing.
