They greet you with a warm welcome, the hygienists keep you comfortable and relaxed, and Dr. Duke makes everything make sense; whether he's talking you thru cavities or helping you decide on implants vs a bridge he is 100% supportive of your decision and you know that he genuinely wants what is best for you.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Duke and the team in his office( especially Kelsey , one of his hygienists) are knowledgeable and professional as well as kind. As a patient, I feel I am unhurried and my questions are fully answered. I receive great care with each visit. I am glad to recommend their office.

Fantastic experience: Could of swore I had already put in a review! I have been going to Dr.Duke for years now and never had an issue. He is very knowledgeable and honest. I have gotten quite a bit of work done by him over the years and even when I am nervous, he has made it the best experience I could have. Always explaining what options I can choose from and the longterm effects of those options. And if it is something he is not able to do he will refer you to someone else who is just as trustworthy. One of my favorite things is how much he pays attention and cares. I have a low pain tolerance and he will stop to numb me back up if necessary. His staff are always welcoming and sweet as well! I highly recommend this team to anyone

Not only did they take care of my tooth, that was bothering me a great deal, but they took care of it by squeezing me in, instead of making another appointment and sending me home. Let’s be real, finding a dentist you actually want to visit is like finding a needle in a haystack, but Dr. Duke and his team are absolute gems. ​What I love most is that the office has this fun, quirky energy that reminds me so much of myself. It’s not your typical "boring" doctor’s office; everyone there is AMAZING and they made me feel right at home within minutes. Fantastic experience: Dr. Duke was recommended to me by a current patient while on a ski lift ride. The team is friendly, professional, and somehow manages to make bright lights and sharp tools feel… pleasant? That’s talent. They explain everything clearly, don’t make you feel judged for that “one time” you skipped flossing (or five), and they run on time — which might be the most underrated superpower in healthcare. If you’re looking for a dentist and a staff who’s great at what they do and makes the whole experience surprisingly enjoyable, these guys are it. 10/10 would open wide again.

Fantastic experience: Knowledge is key. Im all about facts, no this could, that might. I was given two options and I chose one . I was x-rayed, examen and was taking my denture impressions literally in about 1 hour. I had complete confidence in Dr. Duke. He didn't mix words. He didn't try to sugar coat and he was professional and knew what the issue was, and how to solve it. I will bring all my business to Bitteroot Dental and highly recommend anyone who may need dental or denture care does the same. Also, cost blew the other place out of the way. Literally half the cost and quick and easy. Dr. Dukes assistant was really easy to be comfortable with and put me at ease immediately. I couldn't be more satisfied with the service anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I willingly went to Dr. Duke's office Twice today. Normally, to get me (or most people) into the dentist even just once a year is like pulling teeth. Today's visits felt like a refreshing break from work. The waitingroom is very comfortable; comfy couches, nice lighting, and kind receptionists. The hygienist (I think her name was Abby, I'm sorry if I got that wrong) was gentle and considerate. She regularly checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable even though she worked with a steady hand that seemed continuously aware that she was in the mouth of a sentient, nervous being. And she always told me what she was going to do before she did it and would ask me if I was comfortable with particular tools. I really appreciated her care. And Dr. Duke provides the most considerate, collaborative, and patient-centered approach of any dentist I've ever been to. He showed me various images of my teeth and explained their condition and projected expectations in a way that I could understand and make an informed decision about. He managed to be straight forward without flaring fears by offering hope, compassion, and options. May all their pillows always be cold on the other side and they get all green lights when they're running late.

Fantastic experience: I've worked in the dental field for 32 years. Started in New Jersey and finally moved back home to Montana! I've been given the best opportunity to work with Dr David Duke. I'm so proud of myself for making the time to finally get a full exam, x-rays and a cleaning today. Excellent experience, Abby was thorough, very gentle and said that my teeth were not dirty at all. Dr. Duke look a CBCT Scan and Treatment planned an implant and a Onlay, which I have been putting off for over 4 years. Fantastic experience: I lost a bridge while traveling. Melissa was wonderful getting me scheduled for a quick procedure while I was passing through town. They put a tooth-colored pontic in my Essix retainer to fill the gap until I can get an implant. Dr. Duke is very personable, and all his staff friendly and professional. He has the most comfortable waiting room I have seen (although I was called in before I could read a page in a magazine). His massaging exam chair was very relaxing too! A nicely run place.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Duke and his staff are rockstar, they couldn’t do the root canal so they had to pull a tooth, he made sure it didn’t hurt at all and was easy peasy. I’d highly recommend him, the give a discount for cash and they take some insurance which is rare none days. I totally will go back and consider him my go to dentist! Thanks you guys. PS my jaw hurts still UPDATE: they got me in same day because my tooth they extracted sucked bad, I was in and out in and hour and they are knowledgeable, cool and a fun office to have dental work in! Fantastic experience: I broke a tooth the day before a planned trip and couldn’t get into my regular dentist until I returned.Dr Duke saw me immediately and replaced the filling that was the actual cause of the broken tooth. Fantastic experience: I broke a tooth, they got me in that same morning for a quick consultation, and back in the afternoon for temporary fix so I didn't have to deal with the gap or worry about infection while waiting for the permanent repair. My regular dentist was out of town, his clinic referred me to Dr Duke.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Bitterroot Dental are friendly, efficient and courteous. I went there with a because I was having a concern with the gum area near my implants. Dr Duke did an exam and gave me options on what I could do to ensure everything was okay. So I chose to have s 3D image taken to make sure there was nothing major. Fantastic experience: I went to Dr. Duke for aesthetics, but plan to go back for dental. He's a very accomplished man, with an eye for utter perfection, and a great personality and sense of humor.

Negative experience: I am editing this to clarify some things, and reply to the owner. First, my visit was over 10 years ago (Feb 2012) when you were contracted with Medicaid. I would not have been in your office had you not. Second, IDC if it sounds like something he would say or not, he said it. He completely dismissed that this had been an ongoing issue since I was 14 and was told that my teeth were "softening". They started breaking off in chunks before I was even allowed to have sweets, so.. even if it had been a contributing factor when I was in his office, it wasn't the cause and skipping a piece of cake on my birthday (that's how little sweets I ate at the time), wouldn't stop my teeth from breaking off. The bottom line is, he came highly recommended as someone who was compassionate, caring and who would help... Now, 13 years later, I'm dealing with teeth that are rotting into my gums, constant infections and I can barely eat.. all because I set aside the anxiety and PTSD (He wasn't the first dentist to treat me like this) and put my trust in someone who didn't deserve it. I won't make that mistake again. (Original review) I saw Mr. Duke (he doesn't deserve the title "Dr") shortly after I had my impacted wisdom teeth removed to hopefully salvage what teeth I had left. He treated me with such disrespect because I was on Medicaid, and my teeth were rotting. He told me he wouldn't fill out the paperwork for Medicaid because "they won't approve it anyway" and told me that he wouldn't help me because I was low-income and he needed to get paid, but if I "lay off the drugs and sweets" it will help. Come to find out my teeth breaking off in chunks starting when I was 14 (ya know, before the non-existent drugs) is because of a genetic connective tissue disorder called Periodontal EDS. Maybe if you'd stop for 2 seconds and put the arrogance aside, you would realize that not all dental issues are due to drugs.

Negative experience: The majority of the staff (reception and assistants) were very pleasant and helpful. We had called in the morning for an urgent care need for my husband and had described the nature of the need to be seen quickly to which we were told to come right in bc there had been a cancelation. All of the ladies were very empathetic and wonderful. When Dr. Duke came in to perform his exam he was very rude and condescending. He told the assistant that he didn't have time to look at all the x-rays, treated my husband like an annoying child that was wasting his time and told him that he didn't have time to deal with his dental issues. We were referred to an oral surgeon and will not be returning to Bitterroot Dental. I am not sure why we were given a green light to come in and then treated like it was an inconvenience for the dentist. It does not take any extra time to be kind and compassionate to a patient experiencing severe pain. Ladies in the office 10/10 Dr Duke 0/10 Perhaps a course in bedside manner would help....!!

Positive experience: Fair enough..the gals at the front desk were great!!...pleasant, helpful, patient and willing to help with what they could. The main dentist/doctor spoke to me like I was a child who he didn't want to bother with for the day. Fine, I'm sure this kind of work is demanding..but there was no reason to speak to me in a frustrated tone..I wasn't a difficult patient. He clearly just didnt want to add me to his line up for the day..which, I had already been told by front desk I could come in TODAY. very odd. Would recommend based on general staff/workers in the building. No thanks to Mr. Dukes attitude though, it was unnecessary. Maybe he had a bad morning, or maybe he is just like so..went into this establishment..just to be told afterwards, others had similar experiences with him also..wish I would have known before hand..Thank you but no thank you. Was sent to another place..the main guy was more compassionate with same scenario..why didn't he talk to me like I was a child too? because I'm a grown man.

They really care about me as a patient. Staff is amazing! My teeth have been in better health even through my pregnancies. Fantastic experience: Experience was amazing. I had a cleaning and a filling done here. Both went very well. The laser cavity removal and filling was the best cavity related experience I have had yet. If you have anxiety around dental drills I would highly recommend laser.

Fantastic experience: Dr Duke is a hoot and a great Dentist-Doctor he explains everything about what he sees and does and is very knowledgeable he is honest tells you the good and the bad and also the truth no matter what, even if himself isn’t sure until he gets in there and sees what he can’t on all of the testing and X-rays. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Bitterroot Dental for over ten years and I’ve never had a bad experience! Dr. Duke is very kind, humorous, intelligent and an all around great dentist. He does his job well and takes care of his patients. Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about this office! Not only are they extremely friendly and informative, they are also incredibly accommodating! My grandmother had a dental emergency and they worked her in while we were standing in their office. Her dental issue went from being a small issue to a 90 minute procedure. One of the hygienist’s that works there gave up her personal dental slot so they could accommodate the extensive visit my grandmother required. Talk about going above and beyond! The front office staff member was also extra sweet, offering my daughter a toothbrush and treasure box item during our wait. HUGE THANKS to you all!

Fantastic experience: I recently moved to Montana from Georgia and haven’t seen any dentists since move. I broke 4 crowns on my front teeth and did not have a dentist to call. I called several dentist offices near the Hamilton area to see if they would take me in as an emergency. The answers that I received were that they wouldn’t be able to see me for a few weeks or they weren’t taking new patients. My dentist back in Georgia found Bitterroot Dental for me and they worked me in as soon as I cold get to Missoula. The entire staff from the second I walked in were so friendly and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable and understood my situation. I then met Dr. Duke , who was amazing! I felt like I had always been a patient of his and that I was going to be well taken care of. He spoke with my dentist back in Georgia and got the details on my teeth and my situation. He explained to me what he was going to do and what to expect from it. He did an outstanding job! I was able to walk out with my teeth back in place and felt so pleased with his work. I highly recommend Dr. Duke and his entire staff. I am so thankful to him and his staff for taking such great care of me during a stressful situation!!!!!

His entire staff were super friendly and treated me with courtesy and respect. Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr. Duke for about a year now and have had nothing but good experiences. Due to various health issues, I have needed a lot of work and they have always been upfront and honest about the procedures and the costs. Everyone in the office has been very professional and friendly. I highly recommend them!

Negative experience: Dishonest practice! (except for Melissa at the front desk, she's very nice). I went in for an exam and x-rays, and they ran more extensive x-rays that weren't covered by my insurance without asking and without my consent. I unfortunately had a very nasty phone conversation with Dr. Duke about it that ended with him hanging up on me after threatening legal action. It should have been an easy fix, but turned into a big fiasco. You're better off going somewhere more trustworthy.

Negative experience: I am disappointed with the fees I was charged for what was a simple procedure. I went to this office to have my loose implant screw tightened and was told by the Dentist it would be a 5-10 minute procedure, which was right, however it ended up costing me over $1,000, which I think is insanely high! I called another Dentist to get pricing and was quoted $300-$350 maximum. I will not be going back and I cannot recommend this office to anyone.
