Negative experience: Do not believe the office when they say they wont charge you. The receptionist or front desk said, when i called in, that it would be a free visit for assistance with a shot, as it was education. Then I received a bill for it. The people are nice, but don't believe the desk when they say it'll be a no-cost visit.

Negative experience: If you would like to wait an hour or more for your past 3 visit to address acne concerns. This is the place right for you! Currently taking meds that will keep me needing to come back each month for the rest of the year and I’ll get here in time for check in and still in the room wait for an hour now. Seriously can’t have more people working in this office? Definitely consider looking else where for your medical needs if you have the same experience.

Fantastic experience: Great service. Tell Mindy I say hi if you meet her.
Thank you for the review, Mike!
Fantastic experience: great experience with dental, chandler hodge showed great care and was a hard worker, he goes above and beyond for his patients.
Thank you for the review, Cepera!
Negative experience: Me and my son was very disappointed with the treatment my son received. The dentist was rough with his injured tooth even after he said it was painful. No apology was offered, and our concerns were not taken seriously. We felt pressured toward unnecessary procedures rather than addressing the one tooth causing pain. Every child deserves compassionate and respectful care, and unfortunately that was not our experience.

Negative experience: So totally ridiculous. Sign on the door states open at 845am. But website says it's open at 745am.
Thank you for the feedback, Campn. We apologize for any confusion we may have caused. Could you let us know where on our website our hours are stated differently so we can correct it?
Positive experience: All the staff, from receptionists to doctors and everyone in between, are kind, friendly and helpful.
Thank you for the review, Colleen!
Fantastic experience: A very nice reciptionist named Anna helped me to create a Patient Portal which I really needed .She was very patient and set it up for me to use.Due to chronic health issues I need to get frequent lab work done, and this will make it so much easier to get my results.Thank You Anna.
Thank you for the review, Bridget!
Fantastic experience: I had a filling this morning at 9am with Dr. Ahmed I believe. Both her and her assistant were very kind and accommodating. Not sure the assistant’s name but she was a very short redhead.
Thank you for the review, Andrea!
Negative experience: Not for me, hope they work better for you.
Negative experience: I had a very upsetting experience at this dental office. The assistant who took me back didn’t introduce herself or greet me, and the visit quickly felt rushed. After taking x-rays, she told me I had two cavities on my front teeth, which triggered my severe dental anxiety. While I was visibly upset, she told me I needed to ‘do better’ with oral hygiene, and later said things like ‘your teeth will never be the same’ and ‘you won’t be able to bite hard food,’ which only made my anxiety worse. No clear explanation was given about which teeth needed work, what the procedure would involve, or what to expect next. At the end, she said, ‘have a good day—or try to,’ while I was still crying, which felt completely dismissive. They really aren’t equipped to support patients with dental anxiety and left me feeling worse than before. I understand the office is busy, and while this may seem dramatic, it would have taken just five minutes to explain things to me. I’ve had positive experiences with other staff at this office, David my dental hygiene last time was an angel, but this visit left me extremely anxious and unsure I can trust them with my care, yet I have to now go back but I am extremely anxious about doing so. This experience needs to be addressed for patients who struggle with dental anxiety, just take 5 minutes to them to explain what is going on, not shame them when they are already on the verge of a panic attack. I’m not one to leave bad reviews but this has left me in a state of panic and anxiety all day. Do better, it takes 5 minutes and some empathy. After this visit, my dental anxiety has only gotten worse.

Fantastic experience: I love the community of health-care professionals here. They dont only work, they care about you as well. Thank you
Thank you for the kind words!
Negative experience: Julia at the reception is incompetent and inefficient. I have never been so frustrated and it’s saddening as this is supposed to be where I go to get care. But rather, I leave the call with a higher blood pressure.
Fantastic experience: Excellent experience!! Treat people how you would like to be treated!! That’s referring to all the bad reviews.
Thank you for the review, Jason!
Negative experience: This was my first baby, and unfortunately this experience was very upsetting and disappointing. I took my one-month-old son in for what should have been simple routine checkups. The first appointment went well with no complaints. At the second visit, the doctor noticed something with my son’s private parts. (What shocked me more is he didn’t first ask us his parents that were right there in the room if he could even touch him). My son is uncircumcised, and without explanation or warning, the doctor forcefully pulled down on his foreskin, causing two small tears. My son’s father and I were both present and were confused and alarmed by what happened. The doctor then told us that if it did not “detach” on its own within a few months, my son would need to be circumcised. After coming home and doing our own research, we learned that this is medically incorrect. Every reputable medical source clearly states that you should ‘’never forcibly retract an infant’s foreskin’’ and that it naturally separates on its own, often by age five. Realizing this left me devastated. I came home sobbing, feeling horrible that, as a first-time mom who trusted a medical professional, I watched my newborn be hurt unnecessarily. We just left the office confused at what just happened. I do want to acknowledge that the nurse was very sweet, and the front desk staff went out of their way to help us with paperwork and were kind and supportive. However, I feel it’s extremely important for the medical team to be aware of this situation. I also want other parents considering this clinic to be cautious, ask questions, and advocate strongly for their children. This was a traumatic experience for us, and one I never expected to have during what should have been routine newborn care.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is friendly, and patient! I've been afraid of needles my whole life! I just got out from getting blood tests, and Esther was amazing, barely felt it, like, it was close to not even being noticed she was so great! Thank you Unity Care, and especially Esther!!!
Thank you for the review, Brandie!
Negative experience: I’d rather pull out each of my teeth individually than get labs done here. I could probably learn an entire phlebotomy course and pull my own blood before they even get to crossing off the first name on the list. Outstandingly incompetent, and it’s been a consistent issue here. Lord above.
Thank you for letting us know, Ceili. We’re sorry to hear about your experience – Quest Lab is a separate service made available on-site with the intention of providing convenience to our visitors. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Positive experience: I'm giving three stars since I realize this is a symptom of a bigger issue. I have been a patient for 10 years or more, half of this time I've been told I need to be on blood pressure medication. After deciding I can't reverse my hypertension naturally, I came in for bp medication but they want to see me many many times over before prescribing me any bp meds. State law see's frequent dr.s visits as twice per year and they want to see me how many times just to get some bp medication??? no wonder so many people die of heart attacks, the process to get treatment is so long and drawn out that people just give up.

Negative experience: Would give this place 0 stars if I could. Horrible service. As a new patient, I have been trying to get a doctors appointment since May. It's October and they told me today they are still "at capacity" for new patients. They don't schedule more than 3 months in advance, so you have to call on the 1st of each month. I first called them back in May, not on the 1st because I was unaware of that rule. They told me they were booked, so to call back on June 1st. So I did. I got scheduled for August. Easy. Then a few weeks later, I get a message in my portal saying the doctor I was scheduled to see is going to be out of town, so I lost the appointment. I called them back and they said I had to wait until the 1st of July to reschedule, even though it's their fault I lost the appointment. They should have found me a different one, but no, I had to wait, again. I told them I was going to be out of town on July 1st with no cell service (camping), and they told me anyone could call and schedule an appointment for me. I was like "are you sure?". They said yep. I said "do I need to sign anything? like a release form or anything?" They said, nope. Ok....I thought that was weird but I went with it. Had my friend call on July 1st and what do they tell her? Sorry, you can't schedule an appointment for anyone else. What the hell!! Then why did they tell me she could? So at this point I'm super pissed. Now I have to wait until August 1st. So I do. I call back on August 1st, and what do they tell me. "Sorry we're at capacity". How are you at capacity on the 1st!? The day you're supposed to call? At this point I'm livid. I tell them no, you're finding me an appointment right now, I'm not taking no for an answer because you guys keep screwing me over. So they did. They scheduled me an appointment for November 26th, and not realizing that's the day before thanksgiving, I took it. Once I realized, I decided well that's MY mistake, so I will wait and call back on October 1st. Which is today. So I call, and guess what? Surprise surprise. They're at capacity. What I don't get is how they're at capacity the day you're supposed to call. I am so tired of their BS. Like get it together. Unbelievable.

Fantastic experience: best place I even have private insurance now and still see Kathleen for cleanings, all dentists are so nice
Thank you for the review, Laura!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience from their care team. They are booked out months in advance, so do call ahead of time for appointments.
Thank you for the review, Isaac!
Positive experience: Was there for a dentist appointment and everything went smoothly and easily.
Positive experience: I've been in and out of unity care northwest for the better part of twenty years. In that time, my doctor has changed 4-5 times. Lots of young doctors building families and taking leave. Knowledgeable staff, and attention to individual needs
Thank you for the review!
Negative experience: scheduled an appointment for a saturday with them months out from my call. showed up, all doors locked!! i will not be returning

Fantastic experience: Best place ever !! Not sure what these bad reviews are about but I felt extremely supported and helped throughout every visit / encounter I’ve had with unity care , I’ve been going there since middle school and I am now 23 , and now as an adult I don’t have my parents helping me and was worried about the process and if it would be difficult to experience on my own , it was not! Everyone was super kind and helpful , someone always answers the phone and answers any question I have, they also call me back and keep me updated the entire time whether it’s updating me through MyChart or leaving me a voicemail. On top of that they’ve provided me with all resources I’ve needed whether it’s referrals , EKG’s or just prescription medicine when I am sick , they are truly the best and I’m so glad I chose unity care as my place of service for medical and dental ! <3 I am able to know all about my overall health thanks to them :)
Thank you for the kind words, Tehzeeb!
Negative experience: poor experience getting labs done, i’ve had this experience consistently here i’ve been the first person on the list then they make me wait over 30 mins until they take their lunch which is 30 more minutes- please understand how inaccessible this is for someone who works two jobs don’t make someone wait an hour when you could work with a little more urgency. in my healthcare job i go as fast as possible to benefit my patients. i despise pcp medical offices bc of the lack of urgency it takes a great deal of time and patience to get anything done and i have precious free time as is. it’s always something disappointing at this location, and it’s discouraged me to get anything done for my health in years. i cannot spend hours each week on my care.

Negative experience: If no stars were a thing it would be that, I’ve been going here for the last two years for dental work and I’m in SO much pain. I haven’t been able to chew on one side of my mouth for 6 months now I had the filling redone again recently and it’s still not fixed because everything hurts to chew on , but now I also can’t fully open my jaw I don’t know if they numbed me incorrectly but I had the most severe pain after the appointment and now my jaw tingles and I can’t fully open it without assistance , I am in soo much pain constantly. They’re never the same doctors . My teeth have never been this badly taken care of. After every filling the people will tell me to come back if it’s wrong but I’ve never been told that at a dentist , but everytime they say it I end up having to come back not to mention it takes MONTHS for me to get things adjusted and fixed even if it’s a small issue that needs to be fixed asap.

Fantastic experience: Staff is very friendly, and you can tell they work with children a lot. They're good at what they do
Thank you for the review!
Fantastic experience: I’ve never had a problem with this place. I would like to update everyone of Quest Labs hours since I couldn’t find anything online about it and someone asked about it 5 years ago but the hours have changed since. See pictures for current hours
Fantastic experience: The staff here are thorough and genuinely care. I came here after spending a year at Kinwell Clinic, and I am so much happier with Unity Care.
Thank you for the review!
Negative experience: I used to have really pleasant experiences with unity care but recently they really haven’t been good at all. The nurses have always been wonderful, and most receptionists, that’s why I have two stars instead of one. You can barely ever get unity care on the phone no matter how early you called and a callback can take up to two days and if you miss it, oh well. Be prepared to be on hold 45 minutes to an hour if you need an issue taken care of urgently. When I’ve had issues with either medical questions for my care team or billing I feel like I get passed around over and over again just to end up back in the same place. I’ve had four different primary cares in two years here because the doctors keep leaving. As someone with complicated conditions it’s not good to be passed from doctor to doctor. You call to make an appointment and that’s when you find out they’re leaving and they’ve placed you with some new person you’ve never met. Maybe I’ve just had bad luck but I can’t imagine I’ve had the only doctors leaving this place.

Negative experience: Staff was vary sweet, Dentist was arrogant with pore bed side manners. Cut me off when trying to address my concerns and ask questions about future care with " did you come here for my opinion or to give me yours " vary rude and to set up appointments for anything other then a pull i would have to give up my peacehealth drs i love and switch to unity. I'll never give up good drs for a horrible one

Negative experience: Two "stars" ONLY because of the NP I worked with; she was very good; the rest of the organizarion could get a person dead. As an organization thay have three prioritiesd: Business, Business, and Business. Dealing with the "front end" oftheir business is STRICTLY on their terms. You got a problem of a question? Great. Fill out this form, and get in line . . .and sooo sorry about call waiting, b ut we'll absolutely get back to you in three or four days, maybe.

Fantastic experience: Love the care I get here always treated like a person not just a number
Thank you for the review, James!
Negative experience: they sell your data to big business, take a look at the fine print when you sign your papers - they reserve the right to retroactively edit the privacy agreements as they see fit. its how the money is made these days I guess but. a bit predatory considering they are the only option for so many in the area edit: lowered my review further . unity care wastes your time on intake appointments and useless exercises in bureaucracy

Negative experience: Other than the mental health services here, I did not have a great experience. My primary care provider often seemed dismissive of my problems. They are also extremely profit-oriented, as you have to pay if you want to bring up more than ONE issue at a primary care appointment. I found this policy to be ridiculous, but thought it might be a state health care thing. However, I am still on state health care and my new provider does not have this policy.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with Dr.Jennifer Strobel. From start to finish, she made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. Her warm personality instantly built my trust, and I truly appreciated how attentive, light-hearted, and caring she was throughout the entire process. She turned what could have been a stressful experience into a positive one, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, skilled doctor! I hope whoever is in charge of this building commends her. Thank you, Doctor!
Thank you for the review!
Positive experience: They get a three for amazing staff. It's the answering system I have the issue with. The only way you can talk to a person is if you click the option for the billing department and then she transfers you to "the nurses line" and it goes dead after 2 minutes of ringing.
Thank you for your feedback, Leo. Our practice is committed to continuing to improve the care that we provide. We would welcome a conversation about your concerns. Would you contact our Quality Improvement Department directly by calling 360-594-6607?
Fantastic experience: Have had wonderful experiences in both the dental office and the medical office. Even though we have other options, I choose this location because of how we are treated and the quality of care.
Thank you for the review, Nicole!
Negative experience: This was so inappropriate. This receptionist was eating chicken, drinking coke and soaking the pieces of chicken in sauce right in front of me and I was in the line. When she finished she shake her hands and call next, that was me. So unprofessional. You want to eat, go to the break room but not there in front of the patients and making them wait while they are watching you eating fried chicken in the reception of the clinic. Please common sense.
Thank you for your feedback, Ernie. We are always looking to improve the care that we provide. Would you reach out to our Quality Improvement Department directly to share more about your experience by calling 360-594-6607?
Negative experience: They really like to waste time. They send you incorrect confirmations for appointments. Check in is 7:50 for an 8:00 appointment, to find out they waste over an hour of my day for a 9:00 check in! Absolutely ridiculous! Making me late for my MRI appointment they referred me to and now I have to pay a no show fee now. Thanks guys.....

Negative experience: Good luck making an appointment. As they never answer the phone. I have called over 10 times since July. No answer whatsoever. It’s almost as if they avoid patients at all costs.
Thank you for your feedback, Eden. We are always looking to improve the care that we provide. Would you reach out to our Quality Improvement Department directly to share more about your experience by calling 360-594-6607?
Positive experience: I don't often write reviews of places. I've been here recently for medical and dental and had good experiences. First checkup in years and had a few routine services such as dental cleaning and pap smear. Felt all staff were attentive and professional. Get the feeling they may have limited time and resources but I'm glad to have found a care provider whose baseline is respect.
Thank you for the review!
Fantastic experience: I always receive great care at Unity!
Thank you for the review!
Fantastic experience: Ashley was so sweet she was also very gentle i will recommend Quest Diagnostic
Fantastic experience: Wonderful people excellent service. Concerned and compassionate care.
Thank you for the review, Steve!
Fantastic experience: I’ve always been taken care of very thoroughly here. By several different doctors. If I’m needing to be seen right away they always get me in either same day or the next day. I absolutely would and will always recommend Unity Care NW!
Thank you, Azariah!
Fantastic experience: I have never had such compassionate, transparent, and kind dental experience. The team is so sweet and they fully explain anything they are doing and give excellent advice on getting procedures done. I never leave reviews either but felt inclined after seeing so many low reviews here.
Thank you for your kind words, Emma!
Negative experience: This place has gone down hill so fast! I can't get my prescriptions ( I have Diabetes) in a timely manor. Its been three days since I called and asked for a refill and they never can give me a good answer. Where's the urgency?
Positive experience: Great doctors office. Love the doctor's , they really care for my son and I and always have great advice and always friendly
Thank you for the review!
Negative experience: Hard to give a company more than 1 star when they are openly avoiding patient centered care with their policy of not prescribing any controlled substance regardless of history or situation. YET, they have no problem selling those same medications in their pharmacy to rake in some cash. I can only think of one other "occupation" that says "this is too dangerous for us to recommend, but if someone else recommended it we will SELL it to you." I mean even drug dealers are rarely that hypocritical.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! I have had excellent experiences at Unity with my primary care doctor and specialists.
Fantastic experience: This place is good for quick visit but you need an appointment. Staff and doctors are really nice
Positive experience: Mostly great service... there maint. Workers are great... call out Jamie shes great.
Positive experience: Called trying to make an appointment and says to call back during business hours even though it says the call center is open on Saturdays between 8am-5pm???

Fantastic experience: Love this clinic- most everyone has been wonderful and I’ve felt safe to speak up if I haven’t felt heard or whatever has come up.
Negative experience: EDIT: I talked at length to the quality control department, who were very empathetic and heard me describe these experiences and more. They affirmed that clinic policy was not being followed in many instances and my PCP (Dr. Sehmbi) and other providers would be reviewed. I concluded that these events spoke to a deeper issue with clinic culture. I’m now receiving a higher standard of care at another clinic and am relieved to not need to battle my PCP for my basic needs. Original review: I’m a trans person who medically transitioned 20 years ago and received ongoing HRT from a variety of providers. Unity Care has, by far, been the worst. My experience with this clinic over the past 7 months has often left me wondering if incompetence, malice, or some combination of the two are shaping my consistently negative experiences. The first time I came in here in 2017, I marked on the intake documents that I’m seeking HRT. The front desk person came into the waiting area to verify that I’m continuing, not starting hormones anew because they’re “not starting anyone right now”. That questionable patient privacy decision combined with all the laminated signs about not prescribing opiates made me feel like a criminal and a burden. I thankfully moved to Seattle after a few months where I received more competent care. Fast forward to 2023. I return to Bellingham and Unity Care and it’s only gotten worse. I provide them with 2 years worth of medical records and labs and met with a provider who “won’t start anyone on hormones” (why the anxiety with starting people?? Why do they keep telling me this?) but will allegedly fill my script. After that, I had several appointments and patient portal exchanges in which they refused, again and again, to fill a script for testosterone. It was as if they kept moving the goal post back with each encounter. First they just didn’t respond at all for 2 weeks. Then they stated that I needed new labs, even though I had labs from a month before which I provided them. They made me get new labs, testing for the exact same factors. Weeks later they informed me that I need to fill out a consent form. But I couldn’t just mail or fax it to them, I had to make an appointment (only available appt was weeks out) to come in (no telehealth) and have a provider read me the form aloud in person and watch me sign it. I had to take an hour out of my day, as a middle aged, bearded, fully passing, medically and legally transitioned adult who looks like someone’s dad, to sit in a room with a provider reading off of a form “testosterone may make your voice lower, this change will be permanent, testosterone may cause you to grow facial hair, etc”. I’ve never had a provider waste my time with something so completely unnecessary and infantilizing. I guarantee you, NO other medication they prescribe requires a similar process, let alone a refill of prescription a patient has used continuously without incident for two decades. They also trusted me to read and understand every other new patient document on my own. Suddenly, when it’s about trans-related care, I’m considered incapable of independently reading and comprehending basic English. After all that I’m told I’ll need to get labs every three months to maintain my Rx. Every other doctor I’ve seen requires labs every year. When I challenged my provider on this, I received a lecture on how testosterone use is “extremely dangerous” and can cause a spike in red blood cells, a statement that is verifiably not accurate. I would expect to hear stories like this from people seeking abortions in red states, but for all their rainbow flags and presence in pride events, they make me wonder if I’m in a Christian hospital in rural Alabama. Do they work with trans people? Yes. Will they treat you like some combination of a prison inmate, an opiate seeker threatening to endanger their license, and a pre-literate child? Yes. Bellingham needs better options for trans care.

Negative experience: Got told they can't help and hung up on when trying to schedule an appointment. Last 5 years and its been harder to call and make an appointment and medication refills. This medical system has lost its ability to care for their patients.
Fantastic experience: A big shout out to Julia Covert for her outstanding help in finding me insurance. I was very impressed with her knowledge, and tenacity at her work. It was not a simple task, and she made me feel comfortable, and stress-free. Unity Care is fortunate to have her as a teammember.
Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Great place, as long you treat people with respect, you will also be treat with respect too. Great place and good people, they work hard everyday.
Thank you for the review!
Negative experience: Edit because unity said to call to discuss concerns as a reply to this review: my partner has filed formal complaints about poor trans care, dead naming, and misgendering, etc, over a year ago. They have spoken with Unitys board/folks in administration about these issues and nothing has changed. So do with that info what you will. My partner goes to Unity care in Bellingham and they are singlehandedly one of the most incompetent medical offices either of us have ever had to deal with. Years back they were okay, but over the last couple years they have become increasingly difficult to work with for little to no care in return. Their receptionists are also rarely knowledgeable or helpful. Unity care has made a couple really straightforward medical needs incredibly convoluted and difficult. They don't even do the bare minimum in most cases. They also claim to be trans friendly, but my partner consistently gets dead named and wrong pronouns used even when it's on their medical record AND they keep correcting them in the conversation. Honestly go anywhere else for primary care if you can. Unity doesn't really seem to take things seriously. Again, the worst primary care office we've dealt with, even in Bellingham. Also notable: this office can never decide wether something is an acute emergency or not. They'll give you a different answer 10 minutes later

Fantastic experience: Big shout out to Nurse Practitioner Nancy Fong. Absolutely amazing experience. Very kind, EXCELLENT bed side manner, compassionate and observant. I felt nervous sharing my concerns after not being in a Drs office for a very long time. I felt heard, I felt seen and I felt respected. Very knowledgeable. I honestly almost cried with relief after I left. Just can't say enough good things about this experience. Hands down, best medical interaction I've ever had!!!!

Negative experience: I’m a new patient at this clinic. Been on hormone replacement therapy for 8 years now. Unfortunately many nonprofit clinics lack major care with trans patients. I have been through clinics where the Dr is not well educated and I find myself feeling unsupportive. I tried my best to let this clinic know my concerns leading up to receiving trans related care as I’m new to the Bellingham area and this clinic told me we are the only clinic who provide hormone therapy for trans people. I have no option but to cross my fingers that I get affirming care. Trans patients are frequently left without proper care and communication. We are seen as burdens to most clinics who provide this type of care. I can say that my short experience with this clinic has not been very good. Lack of communication with very easy steps where clinics can easily fix and do better but at times I see as well they do not care so of course change will never happen. I am monitoring very closely how this clinic handles my complaint. Will they hear me out or shun me away when I call out their mistakes that need to be explained, as a patient I demand to be told what is the appropriate protocol for the trans patients at this clinic. 8 years as a trans person in society and I will not allow another nonprofit to ignore my concerns as they are important. For any trans person who is experiencing any downfalls from this clinic I would appreciate you reaching out to me. I am not here to cause drama or degrade this clinic. I am here as a trans person saying PLEASE DO BETTER!!!! Watch the dead naming and lack of communication so when my blood work is detailed back to me I am getting correct information and the person calling me is actually aware of the details in what the call is about. So far my rating is a hard 2 stars. I hope this clinic reads this review and sees it as an opportunity to grow/learn and not ignore me. Sincerely, New patient Samuel Baker

Negative experience: Typically friendly staff; bad at communicating and accommodating patients needs
Fantastic experience: This place is amazing! Literally one stop has it all! Pharmacy, medical, respiratory, dental and behavioral health all within one block of each other! 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Positive experience: I really don't think anyone looks at or cares about these reviews From The Clinic! I have been a patient since 2007. I love this clinic's people and nurses and doctors. They do the best they can with what they have, but RECENT switching of doctors and CALL CENTER WAIT TIMES, is just UNEXCUSABLE! The minute I was assigned a New Doctor because my doctor suddenly "left", she wanted to switch up and mess with all my medications WITHOUT EVEN SEEING ME ONCE! I got a letter! THEN, after seeing her once, I am informed she it's leaving in 3 weeks! So, let's mess with my meds, we did and I "went along with it", now, I have no idea who MY doctor is! I pay the same thru insurance, and I know there are A LOT of people who pay nothing because they won't work and live off the test of us who do/ have! Everyone needs to let them know when we go in to the clinic and ask to speak to management when we are at the clinic! I am sure these reviews mean nothing to them. Blessings and good luck with your experience! Debra Peterson September 2023
Negative experience: Just moved to the area & made an appointment to try to establish a primary care provider. It took 2 months to even get on the schedule, and after my first appointment I had several items that required follow-up but it's been nearly two weeks and I haven't received a call-back & the patient portal doesn't even show a record of my visit. I couldn't reach someone at the reception, so I chose the call-back option and got a call back an entire day later that I couldn't pick up. So back to where we started. Very frustrating. Save your time and go elsewhere.
Negative experience: The people who work here are great, but they must need more of them because it takes 25+ minutes on hold to reach reception, five weeks or more for an appointment, the doctor I was assigned to retired six months into my care, and an important referral she was supposed make for me never happened so now I start over. I compare this to the care I received in Canada, with reception immediately answering and making an appointment for the same week or next.
Negative experience: This place is absolute trash. Arrived at least 15 minutes early (as requested) and then wait over an hour past the original appointment time. A provider can get behind near the end of the day, I get that, but manage your patients expectations. One star is much too generous.
Negative experience: I am only leaving one star because there isn't an option for any less. I have been a patient at Unity Care NW since I was a child and I have never felt welcome, cared for, or listened to by a single person there. I have had numerous traumatic experiences while receiving "care" at this establishment and I am frankly too scared to return to any doctor or dentist after the way I have been treated here. I have been accused of drug seeking before I was even 10 years old, I have had dental equipment removed prematurely resulting in thousands of dollars of orthodontics, I have been REPEATEDLY discouraged from seeking a second opinion, I was not notified when my last primary care provider moved across the country and was made to wait months to get another doctor to refill important prescriptions, and most recently, I had a nurse and doctor repeatedly assure me I would have a refill of my very necessary anti-nausea medication only to find out I was lied to because my doctor "doesn't like how often [I] have to take it". I wouldn't trust these so-called professionals with my neighbor's goldfish let alone someone's health. Unity Care will never fail to disappoint and harm people who are entrusting them with their health and wellbeing.
Negative experience: If you're chronically ill or have complicated needs, do not come here unless you are looking for malpractice. If you are apart of the LGBTQ+ community, do not come here unless you are looking to be misgendered and deadnamed. Their staff is NOT trauma informed and most lack "bedside manner." We were told that my partner's prescription was confirmed for refill, only to be informed by receptionists at Unity Care that it was put on hold without our knowledge by his primary doctor. Avoid Unity Care.
Negative experience: Customer service has gone the way of the dinosaur here. No direct line to the dentist, Expect having to leave multiple messages with numerous call backs.
Negative experience: Poor communication. Was told that I will could change PCPs within 2 weeks, it took about 2 months. They never called me to update me - I had to call and ask for when I could finally come in and see someone. Took 4 more weeks to get an appointment. Arrived for the appointment, just to be told that the Dr. is not in today and that I have to reschedule. The next available appointment is in 5 weeks. So, it took about 4.5 months to get an appointment. Very disappointing experience!
Negative experience: Takes 40 minutes or more to get ahold of anyone, and a callback request will take days for them to get back to you, even when you’re meds are completely gone. Not to mention they didn’t even tell me my doctor had left until I was out of meds and called to see what was going on. 0/10
Negative experience: Incredibly unprofessional. Scheduled for an 11am appointment and did not even open doors until 1115am. Highly recommend finding another option if at all possible.
Positive experience: Came in with a severe, week long toothache after already having had 2 pulpotomys and could no longer eat or sleep. She booked me for over a month away with "nothing they can do about it". They expect me to wait a month. Going to the ER to see if they can help, if not I'm just going to pull it myself. These guys don't want to help, they only want money. Editing my review, however leaving the original text. Later the same day I got a call from a man apologizing about the situation, and he helped me get an appointment for 9:45 Monday, instead of over a month away. I am thankful to the people who worked with me instead of just saying "nothing I can do about it". This has been a long three day wait, but I'm happy to finally get it fixed.
Fantastic experience: I've gotten good care here in the past. Great pharmacy. Easy access walking care
Fantastic experience: Great place for general healthcare needs. Efficient office staff and friendly doctors who are helpful and caring.
Fantastic experience: It was a wonderful experience. I felt like a team of people were taking care of me. Every one of them were kind and patient. My new PC kept me on track and explained how we would proceed. She listened to me. I'm so thankful for them all. 11/117/22 I hate to do a 180 but the facts are the facts. Unity has failed my family of 2 too many times since last post. My husband had an ear infection, 2nd one, he called for appointment while our PCP was out of town. They scheduled him 9 days out and said they would put him on a cancelation call list. They never called and his ear drum perforated. When he showed up for appointment they refused to see him because he had 2 symptoms on their covid no see list. Low grade fever and body aches, both symptoms of ear infection. They scheduled him 4 days out at their respiratory clinic. They said "if you need to be seen sooner go to an urgent care clinic". Not someone prone to crying he cried on way home. At respiratory care clinic they voiced frustration at him not being seen at Unity Care NW clinic and did not test for covid. They did best to care for ear infection and took care of other stuff he needed. They helped him. He had to wait more days to be seen by Bellingham ENT who then did exactly what needed to be done as always. I meanwhile was sick and called for appointment with PCP who was still unavailable. I was offered an appointment with another doctor. I told my PCP's nurse I had no faith in that route. She told me i had to understand America was short on Healthcare workers. Lame, unempathetic answer. I asked for a sooner appointment than I had scheduled and got a week sooner appointment. It was over a week out. I was sick. She then just hung up. I have also changed pharmacies from Unity Care NW pharmacy as they changed instructions on more than one medication, didn't fill refill from their automated refill system, told me they didn't have a prescription on file and they did and didn't bother to call me, didn't deliver a medication I needed because I didn't know their system and the lady in charge didn't explain/help me understand it. Most recent I had a high calcium level. I thought I had wierd flu symptoms. My PCP passed on I needed to go to the emergency room. I was very anxious about that. Her nurse, same nurse, said they would not see me if I had the flu and to go to the ER. She was irritated with my questions and finally said another nurse would call me and hung up. To be clear my PCP, Lareina Alberton ANPR ? is still exceptional but has NO back up fron the UNITY Care NW team. Some of the other ancillary departments have been very good also. Hope this helps.
Fantastic experience: Very professional and helpful staff. Dentists do good work and try to keep you comfortable
Fantastic experience: Dr. Krissa is absolutely incredible. I had a filling fixed 3 times and for some reason it just wasn’t right, she fixed it on her first try and it’s already 1,000 times better! She took every second to check in during my visit and had so much enthusiasm and kindness while working! She will forever be the gal I go to for dental work!!
Fantastic experience: Today, I had the absolute BEST dental experience of my life. I have fallen behind on dental care for years now, and where I would usually be faced with shame and judgment, none of that was present. I have never been happier leaving a dentists appointment.
Fantastic experience: Great adult dentists and some very good physicians.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional. I won’t be going back. Currently seeking a doctor outside of Unity Care (and possibly Bellingham, at this point) in order to avoid this place.
Positive experience: Great clinic, despite how busy they are. Their dental team is great and helped me address my months-long ordeal with a deep cavity. Dentist Dr. Mass gave me a partial root canal which was scary to think about but ended up working great. Dr. Mickelwait was great as well. The whole dentist team is extremely friendly and funny. Eleanor Walker is a great PCP who listens without judgment and does what feels best to you. Angela Anderson is a wonderful counselor who works with you at your pace and as long as you need. Dr. Wojnicki I only saw once but was very friendly and informative. Sometimes it is hard to submit payment or get a timely appointment, and having to have an appointment outside your PCP is not always great, but usually overall they are awesome.
Negative experience: I’ve waited 4 months for my “new patient appointment” only to have it cancelled with the next appointment available 3 months later. Without being able to access any other services until my new patient appointment this is an absolutely ridiculous excuse for accessible healthcare.
Fantastic experience: I've gone to unity care my whole life. I now take my baby there. They are extremely pleasant and helpful with my baby. They made sure to have us both seen at the same time because I was due for my checkup around the same time he had his first visit. He had a great first visit and they made sure to send us away with everything we needed to take care of ourselves.
Fantastic experience: Doctors are ok little hands offish and not to helpful when someone is asking for help on filling out paperwork for medical
Fantastic experience: I have seen several different providers in different specialties now and have never been treated with anything but the utmost respect and sincere care. I have never been rushed. I have never been sent away until they are sure I have had all of my questions and concerns addressed and understood. They also have sliding scale fees and take Medicare and Medicaid.
Negative experience: I have been a patient here since Fall of 2012. I LOVED Katlin Wojnicki. I've worked in medical offices since 1998 & I can tell you she is a rock star. But since she stopped being a PCP at the clinic I've been shuffled around to numerous providers. I take a daily med that I can buy over the counter but it's cheaper to go through my insurance. When I saw Katlin at my annual she used to renew my RX with 11 months of refills until my next annual. Now I have to see a provider every few months to see how I am doing on the med. I've been on it since my early 30's. I'm in my 60's now. It's obviously working for me. My insurance has a high deductible. So all these appointments just to get a refill on a common non-controlled med is too expensive for me. After 10 years I've had to change clinics. It's a shame.
Negative experience: Worst doctors office of my life. They traded me off to multiple doctors "in house". Not one was able to give the slightest answer or direction of help. I got accused of all sorts of things even after I denied certain medication that most people would jump at the opportunity to be given. Truly a disguisting practice. I wouldn't trust these people with my 5th cousin's gerbil.
Positive experience: Great doctor and dental office for low income people, they do great work and usually have compassionate but real doctors and dentists. 4 stars because the call line can have long wait times and doctors sometimes leave with little notice.
Fantastic experience: I love this dentist and the people. I especially love dr. Krissa and dr. Gagan. There really nice to me. And made me love the dentist. If you don't like the dentist see them. You will want to go to the dentist 24/7.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful low income clinic with caring staff and exceptional doctors.
Fantastic experience: Love my provider Eleanor Walker (ARNP)! She actually wants to help you. Miss her. ❤️
Negative experience: I've called four times trying to get a covid test arranged. No one can help me supposedly. They asked an RN, RN said I should go to the ER. I just need a covid test to know what I'm dealing with and all that other people that were around me that I have covid. I'm not going to go to the ER sit in a room with a bunch of other sick people for them to turn me away. I mean, covet testing has only been going on for 2 years, you think they would figure it out
Fantastic experience: My dr is great. Takes good care of me
Fantastic experience: The pediatric dentist Dr. Mickelwait is so AMAZING, my daughter’s front tooth was broke in 1st grade during recess and her patch/binding broke off the summer before 6th grade and her regular dentist at Apple Pediatrics didn’t want to repatch it and said it needed a crown… but after 3 opinions saying it didn’t need a crown and then getting a bad repatch at Whatcom Dental …we found an angel in Dr. Krissa Mickelwait; she fixed my daughter’s broken front tooth even better than it was before the first break and without a crown like her regular dentist was pushing! Dr. Mickelwait was so sweet to my daughter too and her assistant is the best also; they work together like solid gold. Really sweet and talented people. Thank you for restoring my daughter’s front tooth and her pretty smile! Love you angels.
Fantastic experience: I would not be surprised if this practice has saved hundreds of lives. And a solid chunk of those lives for free.
Negative experience: Today I visited clinic 220 unity care bellingham WA. my doughter had dentist appoinment every thing was good, all of suden name GAGAn nurse or assistant came to us and start to talk un necessary talk personal question behaving rude while not assisting to us even her behavior was so weiored . Punjabi indian woman name GAGAN show the clinic inviroment How they treat paiants, before going to clinic we must know people how they treat professionally or personal She stop us on the way asking personal question which is not related to ppaiants at all.
