Experiencia negativa: I have had a Terrible experience with this office! I had a true dental emergency and when I called the number it said if you are having a true dental emergency press 2 and leave a message for the doctor on call. This was Saturday…I left 3 messages. Never heard back. On Sunday I left 3 messages…never heard back. On Monday morning I left another message…the office called back and said the Dr. on call was Dr Seranno and she was in Spain! I then spent hours calling in Novato to find a dentist who could see me. I finally found Dr.Evans in Novato who the found me a root canal Dr. This has been a true Nightmare! I will Never see Dr. Seranno again. I think this is truly malpractice!

I am so, so grateful that I found Dr. Serrano's office. No exaggeration, it was night and day. She and Renee were incredibly kind, gentle and soothing. They totally accommodated my needs. Even brought me a soft, comfy blanket. I felt safe and cared for. Between that and light sedation, what I thought would be a nightmare wasn't at all! Vicki at the front desk is super sweet and helpful too. Can't recommend them enough.

An online request for an appointment got me a response within a day and a new crown within a single morning appointment! Absolutely a 5 star +++ experience. And here I am posting again a year later with another dental emergency - an old restoration done elsewhere chipped off. An online appointment and a speedy response got me in and evaluated and fixed up beautifully in a single visit. I love Dr. Serrano and her wonderful team!

The staff exhibited unprofessional behavior, including rudeness and a dismissive attitude, which led me to conclude that I will not be returning. Looking for a high quality professional dentist.

Experiencia fantástica: I was born and raised in the Boston area- went from there to Los Angeles, then soon up to Santa Barbara, off to Maui for 20 years, and now back to Northern California. Through all those years I’ve had many different dentists, and I can honestly say that Alma Dental Care is absolutely the best of all of them! I’m not sure how I even found this office, but once I made the appointment online, it was a great experience. It started off funny, because I kept getting these alerts that I had an appointment – – it seemed like every two hours! When I kidded them about these bot reminders, the two women associates Vickie and Leslie laughingly blamed the algorithms and apologized. Once I went through the doors of their office, I knew I was in the right place! It’s like a family in there: Very professional and yet comfortable at the same time. They had all my previous dental records ready and waiting… and during the X-rays and initial examination, Dr Maria Serrano came in and introduced herself. What a wonderful woman — extremely knowledgeable, experienced and informative. (Also, unlike most medical clinics these days which are under a corporate umbrella, have quotas and are all about business and profit, Dr Maria is a private and independent specialist- just like the wonderful, trusted “family” doctors we all grew up with!) Alma is Dr. Maria’s own business and it is only in Petaluma. Apparently she gave this name to her office because “alma” means honest in Spanish and because her husband Alberto and her name combined makes “Alma”. (Alberto and Maria). I cannot recommend this office high enough. I feel lucky to have found them so quickly and easily when I arrived here in Petaluma!

Renee was the assistant to Dr Serrano. She explained that she would take my dental x-rays and apologized when i struggled biting the plastic pieces. Luckily as she explained, she did the more difficult ones first. Dr Serrano was very gentle, explained everything she was doing prior to touching me. Alyssa was my dental hygienist. She was awesome and gentle. She gave me recommendations, explained issues I had with my teeth and gave me suggestions to improve my dental care.
