Experiencia fantástica: After nearly 15 years with the same dentist, I was hesitant to make a change. As a chiropractor, I value providers who take the time to look at the whole person and explain treatment options clearly. I seek out holistic care as often as possible. Last week, my filling that had been placed by my previous dentist only 10 months earlier fell out while I was brushing my teeth. When I called for an urgent appointment, I was told the dentist could see me in four weeks for an evaluation and at that time they would schedule a visit to fix it. They suggested that I continue OTC pain medication until my appointment. I couldn’t believe it. The only other option was to schedule with a different provider in the office two weeks out for a consult, and they would put me on a call list for a cancellation. Then I called Apollonia Dental Wellness. Once they were assured I wasn’t in excruciating pain, they scheduled me two days out. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and genuinely cared for. Dr. Knabe is incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to thoroughly explain why this might have happened, discussed my treatment options, and made sure I felt comfortable with every decision along the way. She was able to provide treatment that morning! Even though they squeezed me in on a busy morning, I never felt my visit was rushed. She took extra time to make sure the area was fully numb and was reassuring with each step. I truly appreciated her thoughtful, biological approach to dentistry and the respect she showed for my questions and concerns. I’m transferring my regular care to her. And I’m writing this with a pain free mouth! If you're looking for a dental office that combines clinical excellence with compassionate care, I highly recommend this practice.

I have had a prior history with dentists that I have not enjoyed and Dr. Knabe and her team have changed my “fear” and mindset of dentistry. I’ve done 3 times now and my first visit was with my children and they were all very accommodating, understanding, and my kids (4 and 3) had a great experience. Molly was the assistant first two times and was very personable and gentle and thorough. Then my third visit Hailey was the assistant and I was very happy that her care was just as great as Molly’s! Personable, kind, and gentle with care. I also am appreciative of how kind they are given the state of my teeth and what a remarkable job they’ve done in helping clean and restore! You won’t regret being patient here. I drive an 1/2 hour one way and I am happy to.

Like everyone else, I've been going to the dentist all my life -- in my case, too many decades to disclose. WFD stands out as my best experience with a team that finds solutions -- starting from replacing a crown (who else has good memories of THAT? I do) to the wonderful feeling of just-cleaned teeth. They explained every part of the process and were with me every step of the way. They answered all my questions and adjusted the process to be sure I was comfortable. During the in-house whitening day the hygienist, Ally, was by my side the entire time and extremely attentive to be sure I did not experience any irritation. The Kör whitening process gave my teeth the perfect natural glow for my wedding! One of the best things about it was that the whitening paste was fluoride free. I appreciate how much time Dr. Knabe and her team spend searching for the safest treatments out there.

Experiencia fantástica: Well, my wife and I almost turned around on our way to our appointments as we just despise the whole “let me look at your teeth” industry. But let me tell you more! Dr. Knabe is one heck of a professional and her team made our lives so much more pleasant that day. From the seamless X-RAY imaging and relaxing atmosphere while sharp tools are tickling your gums, I was actually impressed! Our 2 y/o daughter even got a full cleaning and inspection and we were shocked at how relaxed this high needs kid was. The patient chairs are also in view of flat screen television so you can either watch your teeth being checked on the tele or just watch your favorite Wisconsin sports teams. Dr. Knabe and her team were a perfect fit for our family and we intend to make regular visits.

We scheduled a visit at Appolonia as new patients, but then immediately started thinking up excuses to cancel since we just don't like going to the dentist. We ended up keeping the appointment. Dr. Knabe was phenomenal - explained everything, was very enthusiastic about her work, took plenty of time with each patient, has excellent staff... basically, a dental dream. We are looking forward to our next visit, which will be in a matter of months, not years (and not because we have horrible teeth, we just really like going there). Even our 2 year old enjoyed her cleaning and is begging to go again.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience. Made appointment to have teeth cleaned and basic x rays. They canceled our appointments several times due to office hour changes and X-ray machine not working. Finally got in and after 90 minutes of X-rays and tooth checks announced they did not have time to clean our teeth. So made appointment for cleaning. They recommended 4 per year. My husband was not thrilled with that and let them know. The next day they called to say we did not fit in with their type of practice. So basically fired us. Also said it was against the law to prescribe antibiotics for dental procedures after hip replacement surgery. That is simply not true. My surgeon said I need them for life. Had no trouble getting antibiotics from other dentists. Something fishy about their practice. Would not recommend them to anyone.

Since the sale, the practice has not been the same and after 18 years of being a patient, I am taking my dental care elsewhere. They continually cancel mine and my wife's appointments and I am very disappointed with their transition and cannot recommend their services.

Experiencia fantástica: 09/12/24 Had my second check up for the year. Was greeted by an "on loan" hygienist, believe her name was Laurie. At any rate, she did her job very well and kept me up-to-date along all steps along the way. Then Dr. Knabe came in to take a look. She reported a couple of old fillings were getting some decay and due to size of old repairs, it would be best to have crowns done. Each is done in two visits. So I booked the first two and will hold a bit on second two. I explained that I had sentimental attachment to some of those "old" fillings as my father put them in many years ago. He was a DDS and passed in September 1980. I've been very pleased with Dr. Williamson and now my new relationship with Dr. Knabe. Dr. Bucholtz did the repairs on my two front teeth. He did an excellent job while explaining process all along the way. He was influenced in his choice of career by Dr. Ted Williamson as a patient throughout his childhood through adulthood. First check up for 24. I received an email from Dr Williamson in January announcing his retirement and he sold his Williamson Family Dentistry business to Dr Katherine Knabe. Dana, the hygienist, welcomed me and started the x-rays etc. Dr Knabe came in, welcomed me by name, introduced herself and shared some personal and professional information and made me feel comfortable. I told her about a small cracked filling between my front teeth. She fixed that and two small cavities in the same checkup visit. About an hour passed and we were finished. I welcomed her and wished her well in her new endeavors. Second check up and cleaning for 23. Discussed options for implant for #2 moler removed last October. Planning to start by checking my Humana Advantage plan to see if any part of cost would be covered. Dr Williamson has two new dentists joining him, one a local Oconomowoc gentleman. I like Williamson Family Dental Alot. First check up for 2023. Emily greeted me at front desk. She took my new insurance information. Sam, new hygienist at least to me. Did his work and turned me over to Dr Buckholtz. He was new to me as well, but was very friendly and caring. Checked me over, we talked about my number 2 moler which was removed last October. Suggested I call in April to discuss possible implant or bridge. I am very satisfied with Williamson Family Dentistry. Went in Monday June 27, 2022 for my checkup and cleaning. In the process Tessa, my hygienist, discovered a tacky spot on a tooth that had a Root canal and cap about 12 years ago by my former dentist now retired. It may have some decay. After some discussion we are going with a plan to take the crown off, clean it up and put a temporary crown on until we get a new x-ray in January 2023. I very much appreciate the time Dr. Williamson and his people take to answer questions and work out a plan that is logical and works for me. Started the process for a new crown. Dr. Williamson did the work, assisted by hygienist, Sam (Samantha). Took about 90 minutes, but had a couple breaks and both checked often to make sure I was comfortable. I've been very satisfied with this organization. Had two large silver fillings replaced. Both were cracked. Dr and Lexi were careful and caring and made a difficult job go well. I am very pleased Williamson Family Dentistry Clinic. Highly recommend them. My dentist of 35 years retired in December 2018. So have been going to Williamson Family Dentistry. I've been very impressed from Dr Williamson to Maggie in the office. I've been attended to by 3 different hygienists, all informative and thorough. Dr Davidovich has also worked on my teeth and is great. Highly reccomend the Williamson Team. Len S

Doctor Brandon Buchholtz assessed the situation in short order, and to my complete satisfaction had a quick fix and game plan to put in a new filling on May 3rd. I was treated with respect, and the young man who assisted helped me feel comfortable and at ease throughout my visit. I give 5 Stars for outstanding performance, and highly recommend Doctor Buchholtz!

Experiencia negativa: Today I showed up for my 6 month cleaning and had shared in scheduling my appointment that. Was not interested in X-rays and made it very clear . Yet when I arrived the hygienist was rude and also 20 minutes late coming out . He called my name and stated you are going yo be getting two X-rays today or we will not be cleaning your teeth! I shared that I told the office clerk when I scheduled my appointment that I didn’t want X-rays this appointment (which in the past 10 years has never ever been an issue!) when I refused I was told unless I got the X-rays they would not clean my teeth! I again refused and told him that wasn’t what was agreed to when setting the appointment and that isn’t the he way Dr Williamson does things. He said Dr ?? Whom I did not recognize told him that she was ordering me to get the X-rays or they would not clean my teeth! This seemed very rude and forced and planned without letting me know before o showed up for my appointment. I will not return nor would I recommend anyone going to this office. They are rude and manipulative. And it seems they can’t keep staff. The office actually called me to reschedule my original appointment because they didn’t have enough staff for my cleaning. What was surprising about the call was that they had several openings that week and this week ( which is odd because often to reschedule a cleaning it takes months , so something is not going well in this practice any longer !) Extremely frustrating and shocked at how I was treated! Plus on a side note : The new young make dentist told me two checkups ago that they will not accept my new insurance as I am a retired senior going on Medicare that I would just have to join their payment plan . And when the hygienist told him most seniors are on Medicare and a fixed income he didn’t seem to care !

Experiencia negativa: Our sons were seen last August, one needed a filling and the other was a routine checkup. We didn't get the bill until mid January. Not a huge deal, things happen (apparently their computer system was down, at least that's what we were told). However we were billed for an enamel crown and panoramic xrays, which our insurance does not cover. Upon calling the clinic, they pretty much blew us off. We were told to talk to our insurance company, because there wasn't anything they could do. So we called the insurance company, and they told us that if the clinic staff had taken a minute to actually look at our coverage, they would have seen that these treatments were not covered. We called the clinic back and told them what the insurance company said, and the staff said she would look into it and call us back. That was 6 weeks ago, and nobody ever called. Today, we called them back to see if there was any progress, and the response was, verbatim, "I guess I can call the insurance company". A few hours later she called back and said, again verbatim, "Yep, you guys are gonna have to pay it". We called the insurance company back to see if the clinic had even called them (at this point our trust has been broken numerous times, so we're double checking EVERYTHING). The insurance company said that the clinic had indeed called them, and was informed that they should have looked at the coverage before doing any work. The insurance rep felt so bad that they actually waived the more expensive charge, but we are still on the hook for $94 to pay for a procedure that should have never been done. Imagine that, customer service so shoddy that an INSURANCE COMPANY took pity on us and waived a $150 charge. It's saying something when your customer service is so bad that an insurance company feels bad. So, based on the borderline fraudulent business practices of this clinic, I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. And if you're a current patient with them, I'd make sure to double and triple check any bills that you receive or have already paid.
